The Cafe at Park Rose in East Riding of Yorkshire

The gorgeous food here at The Café in Park Rose caravan site is well worth a visit and I had the jacket potatoe with cheese and beans and I had the chocolate shimoo milkshake that the kind young lady did an awesome job making me the shimoo chocolate milkshake and everything was delicious and I been to this cafe back in October 2019 which is 5 years ago its my visit to the cafe to have some lunch there as well.

Called in here today after being at the animal park(which is excellent). Ordered a couple sandwiches was told 45 min wait, cafe not busy at all useless staff but sandwiches did arrive 40mins after ordering then did not really want them. As previous reviews say take your own!!! Also noted that kitchen closes at 3pm.

Called in for Sunday lunch, really wished we had not. Food was Luke warm and when spoke with staff they were not bothered.

I been here before never had a problem. Till today had a Sunday dinner which was warm not very hot got more gravy which was cold . Then I turn my roast potato round to find a cooked fly . Complain to staff who didn't know what to do they rang owner when on phone staff and owner laughing. Offer me another meal which chef just said no more food. Which Iwon't want to eat anything from there never again

Cafe looked very clean & tidy, a nice sounding menu written up on the blackboard so we were hopeful of having a nice lunch. Orders were placed at the counter and I must say the lady behind the counter was fairly miserable, hence, why I didn't complain at the time about the standard of food. Chose a Jacket Potato with Beans & Cheese, a BLT and a child's ham sandwich. The bacon was very dry and overdone, seemed like it had sat in a hot plate for too long. The bread was smothered in a very unpleasant tasting 'spread'. The child's ham sandwich was served in a stale bread bun, not edible for a young child. The Jacket Potato was passable but not enjoyable. C Next time we visit the Animal Park we will definitely take a picnic.

Call there this week , got 2 jacket potatoes they were the size of a golf ball, I had cheese n beans the cheese was plastic grated cheese didn’t melt, the chilli was ok , the cheese sarni again plastic cheese didn’t hold in the bread, and the chip were ok but the oil could of done with changing , £30 with 3 drinks included, no wounder it was empty !

The food is average and the price could be better the customer service is poor and on the day we've come there very few people in

Popped in for lunch after we’d been to the bird and animal park next doors which was great. Only one member of staff at the counter so service was very slow. They told us food would be 30 to 40 minutes but it took 1 hour 15 minutes and when it came out the bacon butty was burned to a crisp, the omelette was swimming in a pool of oil and the jacket potato with cheese and cold slaw had virtually no cheese and was cold.

I had a omelette at the cafe today and it was totally disgusting it was soaked in fat and burnt it totally uneatable

Thought we’d get a bite to eat after animal park but instant regret. Staff were young which I have nothing against , but all were clueless. Took ages to take an order and when we eventually sat down , a young lady bought us food what wasn’t ours and was ademant it was , and was walking round like a headless chicken trying to find who’s it was. Beef lasagne has veggies in like courgette and barely any meat , was disgusting and expensive to say they clearly tried to bulk it up with veggies and no meat. Full English had dry bacon and cheap sausages and omelette was burnt and was nothing special . Schmoo milkshakes aren’t the proper ones, milk mixed with choc powder and half filled cup , rip off and took 15 mins to bring to me when all you have to do is mix it . Will not go here again

We visited this cafe recently after going to Bridlington animal park as it's right next to it. Nice spacious cafe. Good choice or food, reasonable priced and welcoming staff all things you would expect from any decent cafe. However. What really stood out to us was this. My son has severe food allergies and carried epi pens to make it more arkward eating out his food allergies to not come under the 14 common ones so this means aswell as making sure they is no cross contamination we need to physically read labels of the foods to each each individual ingredient. And you would be surprised how many places can't or won't accommodate this. But not this cafe they were extreamly helpful brought packets out from the kitchen for us to read ect. My son picked a tuna sandwich without mayo as he couldn't have the mayo. He took one bite and didn't like it So I went back to the counter to order his second choice a ham and cheese toasty. The lady who worked there did it straight away and didn't charge us for it. When I went to tell her she forgot to add it to the bill she explained she didn't charge us Deliberately she was just happy my son found something he liked and could eat. Now I know this was an extreamly small gesture and will probably have cost the business nothing. But was one of the nicest things anyone has done becasue this helps my son feel safe in that environment and confident around new places serving food. Thank you so much. I'm just so annoyed I cannot remember the lady's name or I would have mentioned her personally.

After visiting the animal park today, we stopped for ice cream here. The young lad serving us was exceptional. Outstanding Customer service. The owners and his parents must be incredibly proud. He held a great conversation and was so good with the children. My husband and I both commented on what a remarkable young man he was. And the ice cream was delicious 😋

Been visiting this cafe a few times now to meet friends at the weekend. Usually just have drinks but sometimes a snack which I've enjoyed. My husband has enjoyed the breakfast the couple of times he has been and was able to swap and change a couple of things to suit him. Pleasant service at the till by a very helpful young lady (glasses, ponytail, slim), she's always friendly, there most weekends and we've found her to be very accommodating when asking for variations on the breakfast. The young lads are a bit slow to clear the tables sometimes. Added bonus, three tables near to the door are available if visiting with a dog (jar of treats on the counter) and there's ample seating outside. The shop nextdoor is handy to pick up a couple of things.

We've eaten at Park Rose cafe quite a lot of times & usually haven't had any problems, today whilst the food was ok, the service from the young lady with auburn hair & glasses who was taking the orders took a lot to be desired, she rolled her eyes at my every request & looked at me as if i was something she'd trodden in. There used to be older ladies at front of house that knew about customer service but they seem to have disappeared. There were a lot of young people working there but not doing a lot of anything, there was lots of cleaning that they could have been doing. I don't think we'll be going back unless the service improves dramatically. The management need to remember it's a long winter & they need regular customers.

We called in at the cafe before going into the animal park. We were very pleasantly surprised. We ordered burgers but there were lots of sandwiches, paninis, wraps, jacket potatoes, all day breakfasts, snacks and drinks, as well as main meals. The burgers, which were huge, were freshly prepared and piping hot,they came with lots of chips and homemade coleslaw. They were really delicious but they were so big that couldn't finish them, which was a real shame. Next time we'll give breakfast a miss and go there hungry. Would definitely recommend.

Called for lunch with 4 young children. Table of 9. Young waitresses were polite , pleasant and very helpful. The food was tasty ,hot and well presented. Toilets were clean. £1.75 for an ice cream tub is over £1.00 cheaper than local to us in West Wales.

Quite shocked that they were unable to cater for Vegan or non dairy, even just by omitting items. Table of 6, could have made a lot of money but only purchased soft drinks due to not having any alternatives

Popped in for a light lunch before visiting Animal Park. No menu visible at the counter. Found it half way down the cafe hall on a wall! Just general food items. Nothing obviously vegetarian or for gluten intolerant. Friend Settled on a jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw and I decided on toast. One person serving who was very slow, distracted and appeared clueless. After standing in the ‘queue’ I was told I had to stand in a different place to order. When I got to my turn the assistant was looking past me at a staff member in the distance until I managed to make her aware. I ordered the potato and was asked if I wanted extra coleslaw. I said no just cheese and coleslaw, which confused her. I then asked for the toast. She said it doesn’t come with toast!! I said it’s for two people, two separate orders. This seemed to confuse her totally. I ordered my cold drinks to be ‘waved’ at in the direction of the nearby fridge. The assistant then said I’ll get you a knife and fork for the potato then said ‘oh I haven’t got any’ and disappeared through the back to get some which were quite clearly still wet. I asked for salt and was given 1 very small sachet. The food came quite quickly but my toast was unbuttered and no knife. I had to ask for a knife. Also no serviettes so I had to go back inside to ask for them but was made aware they were giving them out begrudgingly. The potato wasn’t fluffy but by now we would have eaten anything as we were so hungry. Tables around us were not cleared all the time we were there. The outside of the building near were we were sitting was dirty and the windows were very grubby. Tired and shabby looking exterior. Could have a lot of potential but staff need training in customer service and general cleanliness. More choice should be available and the menu were people can see it whilst queuing. Also very overpriced for basic bland foods. I half expected Basil Fawlty to make an appearance to be honest.

Terrible customer service, over 45 minutes for a poor quality sandwich. Staff appeared clueless and didn’t know what was happening, orders were mixed up.

We call here today around 3pm. 9 of us in total. Nicely laid out property not too formal but definitely not a greasy spoon. Staff all dressed in smart casual uniform. All very polite and courteous. A credit to the owners/operators. Toilets were very clean...

Called in for a lunch with wife and family. There were 4 adults and 2 kids in group. Started off with drinks as today was very cold 4°c brrrr.. The coffees ( lattes) from a machine were very enjoyable which is unusual out of machines....

We called on route for a quick drink. The staff were miserable and unhelpful. The coffee mugs not clean and the drinks very weak. We will not be returning.

We popped in here for a cuppa and cake as we were staying in the area. The lady who runs the cafe makes the most brilliant cakes. We had a multi-coloured sponge with sprinkles and chocolate balls on top, it was so light and tasty....

We had a large group visit today. The cafe staff have been really helpful and accommodating in making the arrangements for us. Food was great, the cafe is bright and clean and they do a good cup of coffee.

Has a good selection of hot and cold foods, drinks, tea and puddings. But the food tastes just average. Had veggie and tomato soup which left a lot to be desired. The potato in the jacket was again a disappointment. Probably best for a coffee and a quick bite but that’s about it.

Well today I took the grandchildren out. Lunch in the cafe at Park Rose. Was one of the best bacon and egg butties I’ve had in a long time. The kids meals were reasonable priced and went down really well. Got a few bargains in the shop as well. Can’t wait to go back.

We dropped in for coffee before going in to the Bridlington Bird of Prey and Wildlife Park. Smelt bacon and ordered a bacon butty as well. Must have been a pound of bacon on the two breadcakes and it was lovely. Latte was good but filter coffee was bitter tasting and looked like liquid mud. Not the cheapest place but not the dearest either. Anyway it is the only café around.

We called in here after visiting the Bird of Prey Centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful, there is a good choice of things to eat and drink, and the place is clean with plenty of space between tables. Lovely place to pop in.

£7.90 per breakfast is far too much. Interior needs finishing off, staff were friendly, they need to spend money on the inside (toilets, seating) to charge restaurant prices.

I like this place, cafe and food good but the coffee is not good. The cakes are delicious.Not a lot here but good for an hour and looking around the factory shop to get a bargain .

Called for lunch as we were visiting the bird of prey centre. Plenty of choice and all great value, friendly staff and didn't have to wait long. I had jacket potato and tuna mayo which was gorgeous and came with salad and coleslaw. The cakes and biscuits looked very tasty and again reasonably priced. Sadly we were all too full to take advantage after we'd finished our lunch. We'll definitely be back, need to try the bakewell slice!!

Nice clean area to have a nice meal and a brew. Just minutes away from Bridlington Bird of Prey Centre. Kids play area nearby also toys available inside the cafe

Have tried this place in the past and found it to be fine. Visited recently and was very disappointed. Coffee not brill just average. Meals quite pricey for what is served. It's just ok nothing to get excited about at all. Toilets nice and clean!

Reasonable prices for food, Just round the corner from Bridlington holiday Cottages and next door to Bridlington birds of prey centre.

This used to be such a good cafe now awful! Dreadful food, microwaved pie was inedible. Furnishings tatty. Will never go back.

Mientras que la comida y las bebidas estaban bien, el café es muy cutre. Los asientos estaban muy manchados y sucios, todos ellos, y la moqueta estaba manchada y sucia. Es una pena, ya que podía ver tan agradable. Se necesita una renovación y una pintura bien limpias y mano de.

Estuvimos aquí para el desayuno no ha sido por un tiempo como nos decepcionó hace años. Café tenía una vista parcial de lavado, limpio y ordenado. El desayuno estaba bien preparado y una gran relación calidad-precio. Obviamente mejorando ya que ahora que caravan camping y funcionando. Tienen sofás para relajarse y juguetes para niños.

Perfect for a cup of tea and huge scone or slab of homemade cake. Hot food looked good and staff were friendly. Animal park worth a visit, wallabies were absolutely enchanting and being able to get up close to them made it a memorable day.

Thought we'd drop in for a cake and a coffee Sunday morning after vising factory shop. Tea was £3.50 for 2 cups and cake £2.99 per slice. The cups were stained so asked for replacements only to be given 2 in similar state. The cake was dry and un appetising. Would NEVER go back. Almost £10 wasted.

We were a party of 6 who arrived just before the cafe was closing but they welcomed us in and did not try to hurry us out. The scones and cakes are delicious and good tea and coffee as well. All of the cakes and desserts are homemade by the lady who runs it and the cafe is very clean.

i went with my husband today for an all day breakfast and it was excellent. It was done to perfection with plenty on our plates. It was very good value for money and the service was excellent.

My Husband and I have used the cafe numerous times over the past few years and the meals were always excellent, so while on holiday with my Daughter and family I suggested that we go for a meal on Friday 31st July. We were a party of 3 adults and 4 children. We sat at a table, put the youngest in a high chair and studied the menu. My Daughter and I went to order with the meals wrote down. There were 2 girls at the counter and I passed the order to one of the girls. With a smirk on her face she said that at just this minute they had stopped serving hot meals and we could only have what was on display.They could of come over to us and told us before we had settled the children. We all ordered hot meals, drinks etc, it would have come to over £50.00. The sign at the door said open. Will think twice now on recommending this to friends and the attitude of the staff stinks.

We always come to this cafe when in the area. The food is always lovely and the waitress always allows you to substitute items (ie jacket potato instead of chips) if available. I had the vegetarian lasagne which was lovely.The cakes as well are home made and delicious. The cafe is clean and the staff always clean the tables as soon as customers leave.

We have a caravan stored here and regularly contact them to put it on a pitch for us. The reason is because this is a lovely little up and coming site. The café is one of the sites strongest points as the food is so good .We always get the large breakfast which is one of the best breakfasts around. The café is always busy despite it being off the beaten track, due to the quality of the food they sell. Keep it up Park Rose!!

Called in to enquire about Christmas Dinner for Day care patients from Macmillan, I was informed that they would send a menu via post/ E mail and as it is now September 2014 i think that it is too late. WILL NOT VISIT ANYMORE. They have lost a lot of business because of that.

The food was delicious and all cooked fresh. There was a great selection for adults and a really full kiddies menu. The staff were lovely and friendly.

Called in today for the fifth time having enjoyed food there previously, and what a disappointment.Ordered cheese and onion toasty with chips and spaghetti bolognese with chips and garlic bread.Service was prompt but lacking chips ordered to accompany the spaghetti, the waitress looked blank and went back to check.The food was very poor the toasty was look warm and flat with curled up sides as though left standing around, the accompanying chips were also look warm and soggy. The spaghetti bolognese was adequate but inspiring and the garlic bread was so soggy that it fell apart when I tried to pick it up, however as time was running short we started eating the meal without complaint. After eating as much of the meal as we could which was the bolognese and the toasty and were about to leave along came the missing chips ordered earlier which were much better being warm and fresh, these were shared quickly before leaving.Whilst we must take some of the blame for not complaining at the time, food should not be so bad. It was especially disappointing after having enjoyed food there previously

Stopped for lunch with friend after er had stopped to buy things for our holiday. Good was lovely, and whenever I am in the area.again, I will definitely be calling in here for something to eat.

I use this cafe regular I live 10 minuets down the road in Barmston on the park resorts caravan park and to have such a nice place to get a great full cooked breakfast at a good price is fantastic , the staff are always friendly and food always top notch well done park rose cafe!

Lovely little place. Stopped off for a quick toastie and coffee after going to animal park. Very resonable, lovely food, all fresh, hot and quickly served. Staff were very pleasant too. Would definately go again.

The café had a varied menu and an ice cream kiosk too. We had coffee and cake, The cakes which looked scrummy and homemade were lovely, and the coffee was good too. The café is in a big building and seemed a bit lost, making for no atmosphere which is a pity. The is a bit of a garden shop at the far end which sadly looks neglecter with no flowers or plant. The ornaments were very expensive, as this is billed as a 'new garden shop' maybe it will improve with a better layout and more stock. I would recommend the café but it definitely doesn't have the wow factor

Really nice cafe, the tea, coffee and bacon buns we had were great, the staff were friendly and busy.bathrooms very clean.

We eat here quite often and are usually quite nice. Ordered food it came quite quickly so not too bad. I had a jacket potato, normally as i don't have salad and coleslaw im given a few chips instead but not this time. I got a small potato with some cheese in a dish, no butter. I had to ask the boy who brought it for some butter, he seemed put out and brought just one portion of butter. I then had to request more from the counter. Normally you get four butter portions and lashes of cheese so rather disappointed. It certainly didnt seem worth the £4 something I paid. I felt the children working there were a bit put out (suppose we have to accept its cheap labour so who cares) I won't be rushing back which is a shame as its a nice place to go for a bit of lunch and a walk around the factory outlet.

somehow ended up here for a late lunch.....i chose the homeade steak pie it was exceptionally well flavoured.........only thing that let it down slightly was the fact that it didnt come with real chips...however the frozen ones werent too bad and it was all very hot i have been here many times before but only ever ventured as far as a sausage sandwich sat outside so was pleased i have now tasted main meals.....i did notice the homeade hot pudding and delicious cakes and scones but managed to get out of the door before i was tempted the only reason i have not given 5 stars is because the overall appearance of the premises is not good especially outside..............could do with some work.........

The food in this café is excellent and freshly prepared. The homemade steak pie is fantastic full of steak and comes with a choice of potato plus veg. Although this is only a café the meals are filling and very tasty and excellent value for money. The array of cakes , scones etc is also very tempting.

We normally call here for some good value homemade lunch. And normally it's fab, but not sure whether their chef is seasonal, but our lunch 9/11 not too good.

Food was ok! Nice that they have a childrens area, that kept my little boy amused while we were waiting for food! Cakes are lovel.
