Firstly I recommend the egg burger !!!!!! Which is made 2 perfection at the old mill cafe. Ive Been working in the area recently and been too many cafes, but the best by far is the old mill !! Great food and even better service

Been using this place for a long while now, the breakfasts are bostin', Sarah the chef deserves a Michelin star and Michelle the best waitress ever x. If your ever in Northfield, pop into the Old Mill Cafe, you won't be disappointed.

As Andy Williams would sing 'Where do I begin......' If your in love with full English breakfasts this is the place to be. We visit this place every Tuesday and haven't been disappointed yet. Sarah the Chef ought to be awarded the Birmingham Michelin star, cus she cooks a Bostin' breakfast for all of us. It's a friendly place with usual regulars enjoying their meals as they look out across the Northfield sierra's as you can feel the zephyrs as they pass the trees. Sorry that was in the 70's, them motors are long gone lol. Anyway joking aside, you won't be disappointed. Come on down to the Cafe at the Old Mill.

Usually very pleased with our food , today didn't seem quite up to the normal standard , maybe the cook was having a off day ? 10/10 any other weekend !

Flew in for a very quick pit stop breakfast super friendly service from Michelle and lovely positive atmosphere, breakfast was fast and hot especially the beans (something other places seem to fail on) and tasty good quality food my friends first time here and she was impressed! Great start to our day many thanks beautiful humans -will be back!

It was the most horrendous breakfast and service we've ever had. Although the woman I spoke to on the phone was pleasant enough it doesn't excuse the fact that it took over 2 hours from ordering before it turned up at the door, even though they said it had left for delivery 40 minutes prior to it's actual arrival. The food; it turned up in a plastic bag in a box on the back seat of a car. Not even in an insulated food carrier, hence the food boxes being squashed and dented and food leaking out from being tossed around in the box. There were things wrong with the order itself: there was two lots of bread and butter missing and one of the two teas ordered was a coffee. After being shook about in a car for 40-odd minutes, I'm sure you can imagine how cold it was. Tin foil isn't magic, it only keeps things warm for so long it didn't even stop any leaking juices. This was supposed to be a surprise breakfast from my lovely grandma, but unfortunately it didn't turn out to be a good surprise at all. Disappointing all round, will never be ordering here again. And we don't recommend it to anyone else either. Would give no stars if it were possible.

Very nice Breakfast just what I needed and the staff were very much on it. The manager came over for a chat also which made you feel very welcome.

Great place! Our go-to place for breakfast. Been coming here for years and staff are always super friendly and make a real fuss of the kids. Food is great too- they always accommodate my weird “the beans can’t touch my egg” shenanigans. Nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended!

Excellent breakfast, great price, lovely friendly staff.

Awful experience. Imagine it taking 31 mins from ordering 2 sandwiches to recieving your order. Then getting home (42 seconds away) and the food is freezing There was hardly anyone in the cafe so no orders. I heard them say that a delivery order had just been sitting there for 40 mins without being actioned. 2 other people got served before me aswell. This comes a week after me going in and only person in there, and I waited 13 mins with not being seen so decided to walk away. Avoid this place at all costs

Live 150 miles away but any time we are in Birmingham always need a trip to Old Mill for breakfast

We visit this cafe on the site of the old mill pub every week, their breakfasts are delicious and good value, friendly staff and a quirky boss lol. Worth a visit, I'm surprised no one has wrote a review yet.

I usually order from a place on the kings Norton green.. but used to live not far from the cafe old mill, so I decided to try, and wasn't disappointed. Excellent presentation, food was hot enough to eat straight away, the quality of the food is top tier, lovely bacon, and sausage, perfect fried egg, quality beans and tomatoes, I treated myself to some fried bread, it was perfect, the hash brown really nice .. so I will definitely be ordering again, I ordered a separates, build your own breakfast... Just fantastic... Thank you , and even though it's a 10 min drive it got here within the time frame... Keep up the good work ... OH AND THE Gran bread is top quality, thick and delish ...

Breakfast cooked fresh to order, they take any changes into consideration and made my breakfast just how I wanted it. Atmosphere is great, felt welcome and homely. Also you can have a pint with your breakfast, absolutely love that! Highly recommend, we'll definitely be back!

This cafe is the worst I have ever ordered I at to wait for hour food and the staff attitude is disgusting and they told me my food was on the way and it had been sitting there for how long and they said the driver was 2 min away with my food but it was still sitting at the cafe the time I got my food it was freezing cold the toast was like rubber and the bacon was not cooked my tea was cold with no sugar and had the delivery driver turn up at my house shouting causing alarming distressing behaviour towards my children because we rang them up and said to them that there staff attitude was not expectable and we been waiting for hour I strongly recommend do not order from here and even more go to there run down cafe to eat this place needs shutting down or get better staff in there and better cook and it might have more hope of staying open to the customer that should have better customer service than this from there

I would have rated zero given the chance. Ordered food at 10.50 2 updates stating delayed on Just eat. finally called at 1pm to be told food is out with driver, I told them to cancel as had been waiting for so long my food would be cold. Why this cafe keeps taking orders when they clearly cant deliver is beyond me? Greed perhaps?

Terrible delivery service through Uber eats. Ordered at 10.10am latest delivery time was 10.45. The luke warm breakfast finally arrived at 1pm!!! Hardly breakfast time. I had to go somewhere at 12pm so didn’t even get to have it my partner had to stay and wait in. I called them at 11.45am to be told I’m next on the list but it still didn’t come til another 1 hour 15 minutes. The delivery driver then parked outside with our order in his hand and proceeded to walk off to chat to someone he knew instead of knocking the door first.I live 10 minutes from this cafe. I could have brought the breakfast ingredients walk there cook it, eat it and wash up and walk home from there in a hour if needed to do it myself. Terrible service and will not use again. Do not order a breakfast unless you want it as late lunch instead!!

A great little cafe just next to my barbers and they open before the barbers so I can get brekky and a trim before 10am sorted 👍

I went for a jacket potatoe with some family who also had a jacket potatoe and a sausage and bacon sandwich The food was lovely, service was a little slow considering it was empty but the staff was lovely and friendly and the food was nice and the cost wasn't too bad either I have been visiting a few local cafes recently and this one I will return to again

Used to come here all the time when living in the area came today with my mom Place just isn't the same appaling staff what's gone wrong here used to be the best place around now staff make you feel unwelcome prices gone up yet food standards haven't wasn't able to order egg on toast for my elderly mom had to pay for a full breakfast toilets were disgusting dirty tables with food left piled up yet staff arent doing nothing except moaning about being at work my son says the bar isn't much better smells of cannabis Constantly and you get told to leave as staff want to go home won't be coming back shame as some of the customers are lovely make you feel more welcome then the staff

Popped on for a sandwich and coffee while my partner had an appointment elsewhere. Bacon sandwich was perfect , the staff are really friendly and helpful, definitely be popping in again if I'm that way.

The cooked breakfasts are good and we’ve had take away sandwiches a few times and they’re also lovely. Unfortunately not 5* as I was served egg on toast and the toast was black underneath. It was inedible. But that’s the only negative experience we’ve had there. Lovely staff, large menu with lots of choice, and even booze if you need hair of the dog to sort you out 😉

Ordered at 11.30 still waiting at 1.05 i called the cafe not even an apology great mothers day breakfast it's 1 o clock !!!!! The breakfast isn't even on its way yet !!!! Appalling Also I ordered about 6 months ago thru took my money never recieved the order at all when I called they said kitchen is closed now they hadn't even made my food ! I never got a refund for that either !!!!!!

Great place for a cheap breakfast, just don't order delivery.

Waited 25 mins in a empty shop to be given cold sandwiches and only 2 of the 3 I ordered and then a 'sorry for your wait' at the end. Go to MUNCH down the road you'd be much better off.

Moved to the area and was going the cafe as my local spot to have a Irish which is the best by far and my mate has the veggie . Prices changed not by too much so you don't mind but the atmosphere has changed alot not as happy as it used to be feel like the girls on the front arent allowed to talk to customers no more, which isnt nice when you walk in as you feel like your a problem asking for there services .Best time for food is Monday and Tuesday when the older lady is on ,her food is top notch unfortunately the veggie has now changed no burger and the Irish you get one sausage and not always get a potato cake the white pudding is very nice but cannot fault the lady who cooks on these days . Through the week it's a mis match of luck if you get what you order if it's warm and of a good quality you hear the staff moaning they don't want to be there and it's just not as friendly as before dont bother expecting toast it will be cold or not come with the meal .Sandwiches are great here too had a couple of ploughman's and you can double up . The place turns into a bar at 2pm which I don't think people know too much about due to lack of publicity but summer last year here was great . A pint for 3.50 how good is that need more beer on tap as only got Carling no bitters . The bared early in the week wow what a stunner (can i have her number?) but she's just great makes everyone feel welcome gets you doing the quiz on the telly all the locals get involved or it's the crossword with one of the locals She really does a brilliant job throughout the week always funny and smiling and you can just relax knowing there's no trouble which you can find in the pubs in the area . Really looks after everyone and does you a sandwich if your peckish and has a listening ear for your problems let's you bring your dogs to the outside sitting area and they really looked after by her making sure they're fed and water is always given . Which is nice to see Different atmosphere here weekend think it's open later also but the other barmaid is pleasant too she has the music on makes you feel welcome and there's burgers chips or a Sunday dinner available alot of the weekly locals aren't there weekend seems more staff and friends and younger people but everyone seems to get on needs a new hand dryer in the men's but for where it's situated its a real good place for a pint best part about it you can get a pint with your breakfast too as it's served from morning .Local to shops and Northfield train station and 45 and 47 bus stops well definitely be coming to the bar more in the week.

Went for a big wheel today was greeted by 2 lady's which I now believe were mom and daughter. we were told there was going to be a wait which we didn't mind so we sat down the mother brought drinks over to us and also played with the children and made us feel very welcome . Within seconds there was screaming coming from the kitchen. the lady went out the back as she looked embarrassed within seconds the man is screaming again the poor lady was in tears another customer had been concerned for her safety and went to check she came out and you could tell she'd been crying she apologised again for the man another customer asked her to sit with them.as they were concerned for her. By this time our food came to us but I just couldn't eat it down to the atmosphere due to this man the poor lady came out apologising to ever customer I just really hope she's OK as the place seemed so family orientated until the man started screaming at her the way he did not a place I want my grandchild coming to and a few other customers left saying he was very rude and concerned for the lady I really hope she's OK as when we walked in they were so welcoming but due to either the chef or driver today you've lost customers

Used to go when it very first opened and was the best cafe around, went in the other week and the sandwich itself wasn't too bad no sauce on it though and long wait. Service is what let the place down. No acknowledgement when you walk in and felt like I was a bit of an inconvenience.

Looking online and this was the first place I found near where we were staying that offered vegetarian breakfast so went for it. Food was delightful and plenty of it, outside seating area was nice. Staff seemed to know the regulars which is nice to see.

ordered through just eat for breakfast at around 9:30 and by 945 had got message through saying food was on its way even though the ETA said 1045. so thought great! when nothing arrived even though we are only 10 mins away didn't think anything of it and they could have pressed the wrong button. ETA arrived and still no food. at time of writing its 2 hrs after ordering and still no food and like i said we are not that far away it doesn't take that long to drive even with traffic this is not the first time we have had issues with this place as in the past the driver has taken drinks from meals we have ordered stating that they have forgotten to give them over but happens to have a spare one in his car????. My advice steer well clear from here as they seem to have just gone of the cliff since adding the "bar" too many fingers in too many different pies

first time to mill cafe and the last orderd a small breakfast wtg 45 minutes and i had to remeind them about my order . over priced i could of had the same breakfast up the road for 3 24 pence i paid 4 99 at mill cafe for my breakfast . was not offerd a free cup of tea for the long wait. shall not use that cafe again .

No where near as good as it used to be, shame as it was the best cafe around by Miles.....

No option for zero stars. Order was a full breakfast, chips and a sausage and egg sandwich. Burnt bacon, hard eggs to the point the centre was like powder similar to a boiled egg, microwaved beans were like bullets, black pudding was soggy and so was the white pudding, mushrooms were very greasy and over cooked, soggy fried bread, under cooked and very greasy hash brown, toast was like rubber so was the chips, tea had no sugar in it as requested, no salt and vinegar on the chips as requested, everything was nearly cold sausages looked like they had just been thrown in a fat fryer, the breakfast itself looked like the driver had been in an accident the bottom of the tray was swimming in grease oh and it took 2 hours to get this food nearly an hour over the estimated delivery time. I wish there was a way to remove this cafe from my uber etc so I can never order from there again. I feel like sending my nephew to the cafe who is 11 years old to give them a crash course on how to cook food. They have one job cook food and deliver it I wish my job was as simple. Good luck old mill cafe 👍 your going to need it 😅

I ordered 2 Big Wheel breakfasts from this cafe via Uber Eats and after waiting nearly an hour, one breakfast arrived. I asked the driver where the other breakfast was and he did return to the shop and bring me another. This took another 20 minutes. Not impressed with wait time or breakfast, missing items included mushrooms and fried bread. Will never use this cafe again, not recommended.
