Excellent customer service, great tasting food and friendly staff,

Went here and had a coffee & cake which was nice. It was quiet but late in the day. There are toilets there.

Having visited, with the intention of having breakfast this morning, we were greeted by the rudest members of staff. The three of us read the menu and then proceeded to the till, as the signs stated. We then proceeded to wait whilst 3 members of staff looked at us made eye contact and completely ignored our existence. After 10 minutes of waiting we gave up and left, without any food or drink! The worst experience I have had in a number of years!

We regularly visit family in Rhyl so this is the ideal place to call after 2 hour drive for toilet stop and a spot of lunch. *****

The food and drink is scarily overpriced, and not particularly good. The coffee is best described as somewhere between piss and dishwater. It's seriously disgusting and not even the travelling engineers in my circle can stomach it and they can drink anything. But it's in the middle of nowhere and you've probably been there for a while so what are you going to do? Drive elsewhere? No, you pay up and ride the high of a nice day into convincing you that you've not just taken out a second mortgage to buy pig swill.

Not so much service as self service, then pay for the pleasure of serving yourself.

Having not been to Abakhan for probably 13 years, I was blown away by the cafe and how lovely the whole area was. The food was great, and the coffee also. The staff were genuinely pleased to be told their food and service was excellent, an all round lovely experience. We will be back.

Didn't get chance to sit down so can't comment how nice the food would have been Cash should still be accepted everywhere card only is ridiculous

Lovely cafe, great selection of foods and drinks, inside or outside seating and great service. The cafe is only part of this great place too.

The cake is AMAZING!! Staff are lovely, welcoming and prices are very reasonable for the size of the slice!! Lots of little shops and even an events company that I’ve now booked to dress my wedding ❤️ highly recommend

Had breakfast and coffee in the cafe. Ordered food at the till, self service coffee machine and the food was delivered to our table.

Nice cakes and coffee but the decaf was on a sub menu so it's availability wasn't obvious. We had tea but really wanted decaf coffee. Ah well

I visited the cafe at Abakhan Mostyn yesterday for lunch with my husband and daughter. I had the jacket potato that came with a generous salad and homemade coleslaw. My husband had the carvery bap and chips and both were delicious! Very generous portions too. There is also a great offer on for August where if you spend £10 in the cafe your kids eat for only £2! So our daughter had the fish fingers, chips and beans which she throughly enjoyed. Staff were very pleasant considering how busy they were and couldn’t do enough for us. Will be back again soon!

Visited with my family during August summer holiday. Food was good, freshly cooked and made to order. It was pretty busy and service was fine, am sure would have been quicker during a quieter period. Pricing was fair, especially given the price of other establishments at the moment. Thanks again.

I visited the Cafe with my son for breakfast however we had just missed the cut off time. No problem though, as we browsed the lunch menu and found that kids ate for £2 during August (when an adult spends £10) I opted for a Jacket Potato which had a generous filling and came with a side salad and coleslaw and my son opted for nuggets chips and beans (as always). Considering it was school holidays waiting time was reasonable and we both enoyed our lunch. We sat outside as the weather was nice and my son could play on the park. They also have a dedicated dog area inside which is great too. We will be back with the rest of the family soon!

Lovely cafe for lunch - plenty of choice - hot and cold food. I chose welsh rarebit - well presented, served with salad and very tasty 😋 Chose a cappuccino to follow - amazing!! Staff were very helpful, polite and friendly - will visit again soon.

We called in on our way back from the beach. 2 adults, 2 teenagers and a dog. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Coffee and cakes delicious as were the waffles and ice cream at the stall outside. Will definitely be back!

£8.99 for stone cold Welsh Rarebit. Shame, because it looked really nice but tasted disgusting. Very overpriced. £2.75 for a bottle of Pepsi Max.

Fantastic cafe with a great variety of meals from light bites to carvery meals. The staff were really friendly and gave my kids a lot of attention which they loved. The outdoor play area is great, with a number of different apparatus. Would definitely recommend the Turkey and cranberry sandwiches.

The food was overpriced there was not much selection on the menu food was disgusting and bland Highly NOT recommended Roast dinners look like they have been found on the side of the road I think they need to employ Chef and add some stock to the casserole Had 1 pasta and one casserole paid over £30

Very expensive for what you get and they don't take cash which for me is a no no

Easy to access and plenty of choice on the menu. Had a jacket potato for lunch and it arrived quickly and was piping hot. Obviously well used by the locals and there was plenty of turnover for customers. Only down side was being made to pay by card as they don't accept cash. Made worse by the staff member ringing the sale through as cash and then having to void and re-do it as she refused my offer to pay in cash.

My friend and I called in for lunch on Saturday. I ordered fish , chips, and peas with bread and butter. My friend ordered a panini and salad. The drinks were fine ,but my fish was rubbery and hard to cut. I'm sure it was precooked and kept warm. There was no bread and butter. The mushy peas were very dry, too. So I left most of my meal, at £13 ,I would expect better quality. It's not a good experience again. We've had previous bad meals, but it was a busy time then, so we gave the place another try. I'm not going again.

Why is a teacake part of the breakfast menu. It is a tea cake not a breakfast cake. Ludicrous had to buy a cream cake which I did. Not want is it a ploy to get more money from customers. Teacakes are only served up to 11.30a.m?????????

Stopped for a quick lunch. Great choice of jacket potatoes, sandwiches and main meals. Quick service and we could take the dog in too!

Had a cream tea here and it was pleasant. Would have preferred clotted cream though, but it was great for a break.

Went in for tea and cake. Extensive choice of hot and cold options. All access is flat with no steps and automatic doors. Accessible toilets inside. Cafe is adjacent to a small gift shop selling cards etc.

Went with the wife & mother in law they had rebooked afternoon tea which did look ok. As I wasn’t having the tea I was told go to till order put on high tea table. Not sure if it was 10% OAP discount or roast dinner offer but could not get near till to order very poorly laid out with drinks area to near till area , everyone struggling with drinks machine , reminded me of a school canteen ! I gave up & bought a sandwich on way home Customer service very poor Won’t be calling again!

Came over for a lunch on Saturday 24th of Feb. I asked that chips for my child to be replaced with a mash or jacket potato, paid the full price of the meal from the children’s menu. The women who work in the kitchen brought over our food and said to me “Next time you should be paying more dearer, DONT THINK THAT WE WILL BE REPLACING IT ALL THE TIME” 😁 wow how rude, I felt I was told off! I don’t mind paying more at all but this should be clearly stated on the menu! however all the day was spoiled by the rudeness of the kitchen staff! Jacket potato tasted very rotten, I bet you they didn’t put the fresh baked potato in to a meal for my child as well. I had a soup with a bread and butter and butter tasted rancid too. Rude, unprofessional, food is rotten as well as the attitude! Never again!!!

A break in shopping. Lunch was very good. Food was great. A good choice of msins and cakes.

There was no discretion by the person on the till to allow me to order with my friend. Was forced to sit with my friend whist he eat his breakfast and I watched whilst drinking my coffee. Poor service altogether.

The roast dinner was acceptable, but in my view, expensive for what you got on the plate.

Sunday lunch advertised as 12 till 3. at 1.45 all that was left was dried up beef and turkey with a smattering of pink. Asked if any fresh beef was forthcoming and met with a negative and apologetic negative from junior staff member. Will not go again.

An excellent restaurant with lovely staff who are very welcoming and helpful. The lunch we had today was very well made and really tasty. It was quite busy with people who were also pleased with the quality of the food and the quick delivery to the tables. We visit often because of it's great quality.

I came with my children and my mother and her partner we ordered two roast dinner a welsh rarebit and two cakes the kids had the turkey dinners both had cold parts and warms parts for example the stuffing and meat were cold the veg did look fabulous but no advertised yorkshire pudding in site even though there were lots on the counter the welsh rarebit looked great but there was so much course grain mustard your taste buds couldnt get to the cheese my mother and her partner said the walnut cake was dry the order system is very confusing and the payment being card only is a little annoying i know we had covid but people like to pay by cash sometimes does remind us all it is still legal tender. I expected more as we paid nearly fifty five pounds

Absolute shambles, waited 50 mins for food that never arrived. Asked after 30mins and told there was a problem in the kitchen but it was on its way. Asked after 40mins they were getting it served. At 50mins Asked for money back they said they were waiting for chips, but there were chips on display and when we'd ordered 50mins before so it was just another lie. Don't mind things going wrong it happens but don't lie to cover it up. Terrible management that still charged me for the coffees that went cold waiting for food.

Visited with two friends. One had the Wednesday Roast Special, she said it was delicious gammon and veg perfectly cooked, followed by lovely piping hot apple crumble & custard the other had Jacket Potatoe with Coronation Chicken and salad garnish she also said it was delicious and very filling and she couldn't manage her slice of millionaire shortbread. I had soup and half a sandwich followed by a cream Swiss finger cake. I loved it and it was perfect for my lunch. As knitters, crafters and makers, a visit to Abakhan is our perfect day out with great food on- site.

Brilliant cafe good range of food and drink always clean and tidy, seating inside or outside which ever you fancy the cream teas are yummy if you don't want a full meal x roast dinner looked amazing and the Yorkshire pudding maybe on my next visit I will try a small dinner x

What a lovely spot to call by for a coffee and a bite to eat. Called in today and wasn’t disappointed. What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon and it’s the weekend the clocks go back an hour giving everyone except dog owners an hour extra in the morning.

Always good food and nice staff they are dog friendly as well just make sure your dog is well behaved etc.

We enjoyed a Sunday roast here. The portion was plentiful and tasty. Only slight little niggle was that it could have been a little hotter. All in all an enjoyable lunch. Lots of other choice available. If you're not eating tea and coffee and other beverages are available. Nice big cafe with plenty of space and nice and clean.

We walked in looked at the prices of the cakes and drinks and walked back out. £4 for a Belgian bun with cream in - no way won’t be going again

Unfortunately too expensive for what you get now. Prices have increased but the service has decreased. You used to get a pot of tea with your breakfast delivered to your table, now you have to fill your own teapot, grab your own cups/saucers and pay more for the privilege of doing it yourself! The food is still good thankfully and the staff are pleasant but the price increase along with cutting back in what you receive doesn't add up for me. It was good while it lasted, thanks.

Sunday lunch was rubbish yorkshire pudding was burnt, 1 medium slice of dry beef, very miserly portion for £13, would avoid this cafe indefinitely, definitely NOT value for money!

The decision to change the cafe into a self service is terrible. The cafe used to be brilliant, the food was lovely, the staff were great, now, it’s a shadow of its former self. Would not recommend.

Went today for lunch had a ham salad, when I got to the end of the salad there was sand and a small stone on the plate , informed a member of staff he took it to the manager , he apologised and offered me a free drink , if any one has the salad check the bottom f the plate

Nice and clean and great service.

The food is good however for Sunday lunch the vegetarian option, a sausage with vegetables wasn't too impressive. The carvery was good but as its kept under heated lamps, not that hot.

My partner and I went for lovely walk by the Dee, took some photos of the Duke of Lancaster ship and had a shop at the market. All was great until we went into the cafe. We chose our cakes, we made our own coffees from the machine. Stop at the till and there is an A4 sign, reading "card payments only" not by the door as you go in but after the long self service counters. We had to leave the coffee and cakes as I only had cash on me. Very disappointing from such a large establishment. No doubt our cakes were put back in the cabinet. We will be back for the market (which takes cash) but will be taking refreshments elsewhere.

Nice enough for a cuppa while exploring but nothing special

Been many times on our way home for a coffee and bacon buttty. However, been twice since it became a self service for drinks and also bacon was a bit chewy. If I go to a cafe / restaurant don’t expect it to be like a hotel buffet. If I want to queue and be partial self service I would go to M & S . Sorry to write this but always enjoyed the previous format.

Love visiting for coffee and a slice of cake, I can honestly say that since they changed the cafe to self service I think it's taken something away, no longer able to chat with staff and because you serving yourself it takes so much longer, OAPs having to carry trays around, my friend helped old gentleman to his chair as he was trying to carry tray as he was waking with his stick, not great, no staff around available to help

I am afraid this cafe has lost its way. They have changed to self service and to keep food warm they leave it to "simmer" under the heat lamps. I had a turkey roll, the bread was dry so I peeled the top layer off and it was no better, the salad was bland with 2 small tomatoes cut in half and 4 slithers of onion, they made the coleslaw with leaves of the cabbage and they went slimy in the watered down budget "mayo". When I took a bite into the roll it was greasy and grissley, there were 2 large slices of turkey but the bottom layer had had grissle on and the fat had melted under the heat lamps! It was horrible. I ate a little of the meal that was not cheap at all and left the rest. I noticed as I left that people that had the fish and chips had left most of that as well as the batter looked like concrete and the fish was prob dry as well, chips were no better and left with peas on the plates. Much better to cook fresh and not try to save money this way. I had intended to come back on the Weds with my cousin for a roast lunch, 2 course meal but we went to Afonwen instead.

Only had coffee and scones. Not busy when went but some staff ignored us for a few minutes. Then one lady on the till helped and was very good. Our two 4 year old grandsons enjoyed the small playground and the play house.

Coffee and cake was awesome very friendly staff

Had a really nice lunch-I choose the roast carvery bap on brown bread. The meat was nice and tender and plenty of it along with a good salad. I’d have left 5 star review but disappointedly was told that they were not allowed to put any stuffing on the bap, gutted!

Had a nice cup of coffee and unexpectedly met a friend I hadn't seen for 50 years

The food was lovely. But the staff were not the best one member of staff was more interested in getting away from customers and giving a friend her number felt that she was rude.

Still an attractive venue, despite the changes since last visit. Only card payments accepted, so make sure that your only means-to-pay is not cash. The departure of the sofas near the 'WiFi zone' means that the table next to the automatic entrance door can position you in range of the door sensor. Although the layout has not altered, the position of the ordering/payment station at the end of the former drinks-only dispensing counter can lead to customer confusion, especially if not constantly staffed. Service to the table, of drinks and food, is now very efficient.
