Running Hare in Flintshire

We used it as a stop off on a long drive to charge the car and have a meal with the family. It was great for this. We would have stopped on our return but the car charger wasn’t working, so we carried on.

The food was lovely and I only wait for half an hour it was really warm and the people said sorry for the wait and I said it’s ok it wasn’t a wait

We have visited the Running Hare many times as its local and have always enjoyed the food .Today we had Llewelyn as our Server he was really attentive and friendly and answered a few questions we had.well done

We had a nice relaxing Saturday early evening meal. The table was comfortable for the 5 of us and the bar staff took our order at the bar with ease. Food was up to a high standard. The chips were very tasty. Steak was cooked just how we liked it. We were able to use a discount voucher which made the meal great value for money. Overall a nice dining experience thank you Running Hare.

The carvery was amazing. Food was really tasty. Everything had nice flavour. Staff were friendly and polite. Got shown to our table straight away, no waiting around. Will definitely be visiting again soon. Fantastic and very happy with the whole experience.

The carver was very friendly and extremely generous, the best meat I have ever had. So much choice of veg and potatoes. I will definitely come again. Alyshea was extremely friendly with a lovely smile. 😀

Whilst not the best food I've ever had, I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have a good food experience in the area. Throughout my afternoon I had spoken with 2 or 3 staff members that were all very friendly and I would have tipped Llewelyn and Dillon if I had the extra cash on me because they were so welcoming, which is not something I usually do.

If I'm honest .. I have alot of good things to say about this place .. To start I think the establishment is a very lucky one to have such good vibes from the staff ..I came in Saturday just been and the welcome and the effort and time the fella that escorted us to our table 38 might I add. Just took his time to explain the Xmas addons of the menu .. small things like that go along way .. I've visited here for Sunday carvery in the last month or so .. it so good I travel from caernarfon to have it .. it well presented and the chef is always present with not just me ... Everyone... It easy to be nice to some .. but yeah .. staff is important for a place like this to run .. A customer was in front of me asked for a jug of custard.. that all . And even the smallest of orders matters as much as a big order .. fair play . Bad point I could be honest with ... Well lot really bad . But honesty....... When going to order at the bar .. the staff preferred a one direction line to be served ..but no notice for customers to follow ..as bar staff would have to shout not directly at customers might I add .. for the job to be efficient I guess .. small guides for customers would be better .. but that really small issue .. Me and my partner really liked it there .I will be back .xx thank you for the service.

I am amazed! The food we oh Lord I have no words the young man with a dark red strip in this hair (he was pretty tall) was soo kind, had amazing customer service and overall made my experience here soo much better I would definitely be coming back again! Keep up the good work son !!

It was our first experience here and my family and I came along for the Sunday roast. Staff were so welcoming from the moment we walked in. Food was delicious, loads to choose from too and it’s reasonably priced. Want to give a shout out to the two young servers we had (Dillon and Llewelyn) and they were so lovely and helpful 😊

Was in here yesterday and had an amazing food experience with a classic mixed grill and my girlfriend had the chicken burger and fries with salad. The service was exceptional especially from Alyshea who came over to our table halfway through our meal to make sure everything was ok and was very friendly and professional, she couldn't do enough for us. After our meal Dillon cleard our table and made our experience even better with his friendly vibe. I would Definitely recommend the running here and will be calling in again soon...5 stars from me⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Good old plain pub food but very tasty and value for money

I came today and Was served by alyshea on the bar and she was lovely,well mannered and very friendly I would come again definitely.

This place is a little gem, the food is lovley the staff are so happy kind and helpful we came here for a carvery one day and we will be returning as often as we can at least once a week, it's lovley to find a place where you are treated with respect and welcomed along with nice food and also checked upon making sure every thing is OK, thankyou :)

Lovely place to have a meal with the family, the kids were having fun. Our server Alfie was lovely. The carvery was wonderful as well.

Did what Pub is supposed to do, But even Better!

Waited over an hour for food when it arrived the fries was cold ordered classic chicken burger and the chicken burger was saturated in grease it was literally like a water fall if you squeezed it abit safe to say I didn’t eat the food an will never be returning there again

You know what you will get food wise at the running hare, however what was exceptional this time was the service. We experienced 3 different members of staff, all a credit to the business. Chris, Mac and Rik were just effortlessly engaging and gave brilliant service! Well done to all three of them, helped make a nice Sunday lunch memorable.

We were out to tea in Chester and Dillon starts cleaning our table after himself. 10/10

Excellent Carvery and service. We booked in with a rather large party of 137 people. All fed with delicious food in under an hour.

I came here for a family Sunday roast because someone recommend this place to me food was lovely, no complaints. We were served by Cerys, the service was great. The whole family enjoyed the meal. We would definitely return!

Wonderful staff, couldn't do enough to help me as a first time user of an app. Ffion showed me how it worked and when there was an issue with the till, she printed off our carvery slip so we weren't waiting. Then she came over with the hand held card reader so we could continue with our meal in peace. Lovely member of staff. I'd love to have her working for me. Definitely returning.

Good straight forward food and service.

My husband and I tend to go to The Running Hare on a weekly basis. We always enjoy the food and love the offers for different days! The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Tonight we were served by Matt and Regan, who were both polite, efficient and respectful. Who could ask for more! My husband enjoyed his ultimate beef burger, and I had two starters instead of a main - the chicken strips and prawn cocktail, which were delicious. We will definitely continue to enjoy eating at this venue!

Went for a lovely meal with my colleagues today. Had the carvery as well as meals from the menu. Everything was delicious especially the desserts. Service always great. Will be returning again soon.

We had three meals which were all really nice but there's one I need to focus one.....the mixed grill! I love a mix grill but normally ignored them because they're over cooked and dry as a rule. I ordered the mega mix grill and I have to say....it's the best mix grill I've ever had! I even went as far to ask if one chef cooked this and if so, what was their name. The waitress came back and said one chef did cook it and his name was "Rick". Rick, if you read this I want you to know that was the best mixed grill I've EVER eaten and trust me, I've eaten a few....too many my doctor might proclaim! It was cooked to absolute perfection 👌, it really was! Thank you so much my friend...there's a pint of Pepsi Max behind the bar for you as I now know you don't drink. My way of saying thank you 😊 Please, please, please......keep up the good work my friend 👍

We could not get a sitting for 10 inside, but the staff were very friendly and allowed us to sit in the garden near the playground. It was great as we had children who enjoyed playing.

Excellent food at very good prices. A full roast with two meats for £8.00 is fantastic in my opinion. It's a couple of quid dearer on a Sunday but still lower than most other places. The desserts are very good too if you still have room for them. Plenty of free parking and usually no waiting for a table.

Easy to book on line. Shown to our table on arrival. Friendly service, was quick today to order at the bar. Food and ervice was really good.

Overall, it was alright. Which is pretty much the theme for this review....alright. We were seated promptly at a reserved table which was good. Paid and went to queue for the carvery and starters for the party. Starters got lost and from sit down time to getting food was 30 minutes or so. Food was alright, pretty standard with nothing overly jumping out as a "must-have-again" Lovely staff working and couldn't fault them however towards the end of the evening they were roaming around without a purpose or general guidance. Perhaps implementing a shutter on the customer side of the carvery might be a good investment as seeing children sorting through the Yorkshire puddings to find their favourite one along with the, sauces and gracy was a bit off putting. With the above being said, it's a nice place, worth one visit, absolutely! Worth a second....let your 1st trip decide that.

Took a group of 15 visually impaired people and guides for a carvery. food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful, plenty of room for wheelchairs and disabled toilets easy to access will definitely go again many thanks to all the staff well done guys

Despite being near enough on my doorstep I never really think about going here but I'm glad we did this time. Was able to get a booking at short notice, the service was very good despite being quite busy and the food was really good and the carvery being great value for money.

Very busy place ,carvery good ,not much space between tables bar area busy best to try and order on app but this didn't work ,staff friendly .

We come here frequently with our local dementia group and the staff are always so accommodating and helpful with the groups needs. Hannah especially is always very chatty and makes a fuss of the group and makes us feel welcome and nothing is ever to much. Brill staff team who are very understanding with our groups needs.

Just had a beautiful carvery with friends! The potato was the best mash I have had in a carvery setting! Llewelyn was a pleasant and helpful young man! Great family experience.

Been here many times and always enjoyed it but today sat 14th Sept it wasn't nice at all. It was all cold and the roasters were dried up, the mash was just slop, Yorkshire puds were almost raw. Not nice at all.

Food was great and the staff were lovely and most helpful in particular the lady that greeted us as we came in.

We come here with friends for no particular reason. We come here to celebrate family/friends birthday's etc.

The Running Hare never disappoints. We mainly eat the carvery but have tried the mains too and they’re also fab. The staff are so attentive. However have to give a special mention to Hannah who’s worked there for ages now, she’s the best asset the pub has. Highly recommend.
