Great carvery and friendly staff!

Nice place with a relaxed atmosphere. Staff are always friendly and the food is nice. Good wheelchair access and welcome our assistance dog. The establishment is always clean and tidy. Parking is good.

Great food and lovely friendly staff. Had a few problems ordering at table due to bad signal but the bar staff were fab and placed order. Blue Light discount is great.

Good service and really nice food

Had a birthday meal with 10 guests all the food got sent out at the same time, staff were friendly and very helpful they brought plates for us to have birthday cake, had a lovely meal food was really nice fabulous evening with family and friends!

Food was excellent the service too. We will be back soon as the Carvery is our choice and never disappoints.

Me and my family came for my dads 50th birthday we had three carvery dinners and safe to say we are all now full, lovely staff for service and our server Courtney was polite and served and talked in a professional manner, always great food when we come highly recommended.

Had another carvery there yesterday ..staff were courteous and helpful. The roasts were very nice . And the fosters was absolutely bang on . ( not like its sister pub down the road ) aston Hill..

My family and I used to go to the running hare very often. We felt the carvery was good value. I’m not sure what’s happened in the last few months but the carvery has gone down hill. No matter what size plate you purchase, the meat offering has been reduced to two wafer thin pitiful pieces of meat. The veg was dried out and the refills never seem to come out. There’s nowhere near enough staff to go round, on a sunny Saturday they had just two bar staff and one on the carvery. Be prepared to wait be disappointed. Come on Marstons pull your finger out, stop cutting corners as we pay enough.

We did stand around waiting for someone to seat us for a few minutes however the staff were friendly. The restaurant is local to us but don't really visit but we came due to convenience and we will definitely return. The atmosphere was good and the food was really good so much better than expected.

There were 9 of us, we all had the carvery which was delicious with lots of choice on meat, veg, spuds & sauces. Staff were very friendly & helpful which made it an even more enjoyable Mothers Day. Highly recommend.

After over a year of not being able to leave home due to medical issues we were able to take my 95 year old mother to lunch. We were given a table near to the disabled toilets as requested but shortly after were surrounded by a large group of teenagers on several tables. They were obviously quite noisy so my mother couldn't hear any of our conversation. There were other empty areas where they could have been accommodated with some thought. When we cane to order we were told that the sandwiches on the menu weren't available on a Bank Holiday, despite the menu stating Monday to Saturday with no caveat for Bank Holidays. We were then told that my daughter couldn't have pasta as there was none in the building. We complained to the manager who then told us there was pasta but it hadn't been communicated! At this point we'd had enough and left. We won't return. Instead we went to a local cafe where we were treated respectfully and were even able to order things not on the menu. I'm sure none of this will bother your manager who seemed largely unconcerned whether we stayed or not.

We came in for lunch today and had a very nice meal. The service was excellent by Alisha and the food was very nice too. The overall experience was amazing. Will definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

We go there every week and I get to use my blue light card however was told on good Friday they dont accept it on bank holidays which we cudnt understand the reason why we was very disappointed with this response as other places use it on these days

Every item of my carvery was barely warm at best but mostly quite cold except for the mash. Our server Alyshea was amazing. Bubbly, helpful and friendly. A real asset to the place and the only good thing about the visit. I found it quite expensive for what was really quite bland. Won’t be back for a carvery unfortunately

Great meal and staff very helpful

Excellent food at very good prices. A full roast with two meats for £8.00 is fantastic in my opinion. It's a couple of quid dearer on a Sunday but still lower than most other places. The desserts are very good too if you still have room for them. Plenty of free parking and usually no waiting for a table. Great place for kids too

Alyshea came over to my table and made sure my food was okay and everything was okay she had a lovely smile and great atmosphere I will be back !!

Staff very welcoming, shown to the table, everything from start to finish was so wonderful, the food tastes like home made which is amazing for a carvery, we will be back most Sundays.

Food disappointing to previous visits. Roast potatoes were very brown and very hard as if they'd been stood there for some time. Meat not of the same standard as before, not a turkey crown, a turkey joint. Was given the scag end of the gammon even tho I asked for a slice of the fresh stuff.

I haven’t been for over a year despite loving only 2 miles away because of a last poor experience. However last night the carvery was lovely, the staff very attentive and tjhe app a blessing to avoid large queues at the bar. Surprising myself I have booked to return With family on Saturday evenings

A bit expensive on a Sunday, I went and my potatoes were not cooked properly, and no colliflower available, I will think twice about going back

The main entrance inside was roped off with no staff we looked for another way in but there was none. Unsure what we wanted to eat a staff member arrived and showed us to a small waiting area where we would be shown to a table. no one came. The staff seemed to be fixated on a computer screen, no hospitality and manners on show so after one drink we left. As an ex landlord this is one of the worst pubs I have ever visited.

Terrible. Seen to our seats then zero service from there. Food arrived very staggered with my wife receiving her food 20 mins after eating mine. Food was decent but not amazing. Waiters were very disconnected, inattentive, unenthusiastic and unhelpful. Odd atmosphere. Only positives were we got 30% off through vouchers and the car park offered plenty of parking. Won’t be visiting again.

Disappointed tonight. I’ve had the Chicken Tikka Masala many times, but I’m not sure what happened tonight. When I got my order, it felt like only half a dish with five small pieces of chicken. I know I used the 30% discount code on mains, but this felt like 20% of my dinner was missing. When I questioned it, the blonde girl shrugged it off, responding, “Well, I could get you another one, but it will be the same.” I’ve had this before, and it never looked like this. I’m sure I’ve used a code before. Is it part of the deal that using a discount code means getting smaller portions?

Fantastic service! We had a lovely welcome from the Host, nice friendly staff at the bar and a very nice young man clearing. Theres a nice relaxed atmosphere and fantastic food. We ordered menu items and the carvery and were very happy with the quality and portion sizes. We will be visiting again in the future. Thanks to the Running Hare Team

Amazing food and lovely friendly customer service staff

Booked table for 5 people. First table seating not appropriate for us so asked for move which was no problem. Staff very helpful and attentive. Five minutes after starting food staff came over to ask if all ok which it was. Wait for food not too long. Was busy. All food was hot. Empty plates on table less than five minutes. Overall a lot better than it used to be. Compliments to the staff on a very nice evening meal.

We popped in for a bit of lunch the food was good the service was great. Especially the girl on the bar i think her name was Courtney she was very polite and friendly. I would recomend the running hare to anyone.

The service was really quick even though it was really busy. The food was delicious, I had the carvery and it was well worth the money.

I have visited here each month for several years, we have always had a good service and a very friendly welcome from Louise and her team. But yesterday I was very disappointed, I appreciate the problem with rising costs so was not surprised that the cost of the carvery had gone up, we always have the medium plate and have never had a problem with the meat servings, except for yesterday in front of us where several people who had small plates and small servings of meat which is what I would expect but when it came to ours one small slice of Gammon very chewy and one small slice of Turkey was not what I would call value for money for a medium plate as it was the same size if not smaller than the small plate, so what is the point of paying for a medium plate as you can get the same amount of vegetables on a small plate!!.

Young girl on the till pressed wrong button and overcharged me first of all. Not a problem because it was rectified when I checked my receipt. My main issue is the food was all I consumed yesterday and I have struggled to stay off the toilet today. I hope everyone else is ok from yesterday

Very welcoming. Approach to pub was clean and tidy with plenty of parking. Nice and spacious inside too. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good choice on the menu. Utilised a discount from website which made the already good prices better. Had the carvery which was very nice. The veggies were hot without being overcooked.

Love coming to The Running Hare- I love the carvery- I have meat free and love the fantastic choice of food available- staff are always pleasant and helpful Meat eater vegetarian or Vegan- The Running Hare caters for everybody, its well worth a visit and I thoroughly recommend it!!!! Can't praise it enough!

Nice place great little section for the kids too well... food is amazing there and the staff are lovely and helpful but there was human poo on the floor behind my chair and I stood in it 😭 maybe the cleaners need too look out more

Always a good experience. Carvery was well stocked & hot as usual though I opted for a meal from the main menu on this occasion. It didn't disappoint. We also had a kids cheeseburger & fries which went down well with the little one. We like that someone always comes over to give you a heads up on mains so rest can go for their carvery. We'll be back very soon.

Food was nice and fairly priced. Didn't take long at all for the food to come and it was very busy. Pudding not as great ,looked like it had been standing for a bit. Staff friendly. Inside the building was absolutely freezing even with all the people and we wasn't sitting by the door either, so heating was an issue. Other than that everything was okay,and would come again.

Pleasant evening dinner as expected. We have always found the staff to be very friendly even when they are busy. We have always found the food to be well cooked and replenished regularly with regards to the carvery and ordering from the menu the food is good too.

Just had a meal for our golden wedding anniversary which they knew about never even offered us a complementary drink

RainbowBiz CIC runs a walking group for vulnerable adults on Tuesday morning. This time we decided to have lunch at the Running Hare after the walk. When we arrived we had a fantastic welcome from the staff. They had reserved our tables and made sure that any of the groups needs were met. The food was delicious and we would highly recommend a visit! We will be returning to the Running Hare soon for another post walk meal. Thanks to all staff!

The size of the adults meals are like a kids size meal thought you would of got more for what you pay

Fantastic service all round. Took my sons friend with us for dinner and I ordered via the app and had mistakenly not added their order (bad mum). So I ordered this meal at the bar and they put an urgent request for food to be made ASAP as we had all other meals. Staff went out of their way to help and meal was brought out so quickly that we all got to enjoy our food together. Such a family friendly service. Great food reasonable prices and comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Best family meal out in a long time.

Very nice place, good food, good atmosphere. Been here a fair few times now and haven't had a bad experience yet. Once the meal had taken awhile but it was busy so you can expect that. Not given 5 stars has that means perfection and I always believe there is always room to improve (personal preference that's all)

We come here with friends for no particular reason. We come here to celebrate family/friends birthday's etc.

Having travel and staying near here , we decided to try the pub for food ,Having never been here before we gave it a try having entered the pub through the doors , well what we thought was entrance as people were standing , well were greeted by the oldish lady on entrance duty being slightly abrupt about us entering the wrong door , Was told stay there and then I think the young girl also on door duty seen this and then she took over and was polite and I think was embarrassed on her fellow colleague attitude . We ordered at the table for food , prompt service for the drinks and carvery vouchers . Carvery had a good selection of meat and fair portion size of meat for the ordered size, Only critique was the food was just warm ,overall a good experience in the end .

We ordered our food and drinks from the barcode at the table. Drinks were delivered within a few minutes and the food not long after that. Weve been a few times in the last couple of weeks and every time has been very good

Desspite being late due to excess traffic our table was still held for us. The staff welcomed us and explained the ordering alternatives. Our food was delivered in a timely manner and the staff offered condiments. We all enjoyed our chosen meal, 2 had curries from the daily offer, an exceellent offer, one had Chilli and another the Gammon. Every meal was excellent and there were clear plates all round. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed despite it being lunch time. We all like the Running Hare for excellent food and choices available

Yesterday I along with my two friends made a last minute online booking as two of the places we usually go to were full. To be honest after going to the Running Hare not long after it first opened, it was not somewhere on my list to revisit, however, I was very pleasantly impressed, staff were welcoming, courteous and attentive in just the right amounts. The food was delicious and excellent value, I honestly couldn’t fault any part of my visit, which these days makes a refreshing change. A place Is only as good as a person’s lasts visit and on that basis I will definitely be back. Well done to the Running Hare Team.

My daughter loves the carvery that the Running Hare serve, but she wasn't very impressed yesterday as they didn't have the red cabbage! 😕 All in all a lovely meal is always served

Food was nice, warm and fresh. The queue moved quickly. Service at the bar was a little slow, so we used QR code. Which probably took as long as it would have to queued so it was the same either way. Happy with service.
