Wonderful little cafe, great sit-in area and excellent choice. Prices are reasonable. Would definitely visit again.

Lovely fresh bakes, wouldn't go anywhere else. Great value for proper bakery items. For the trendy bakes (at a much higher price) there are some awesome other spots. But this is my favourite.

Such good value , and there cottage pie is the best ever 2 meals for 12.50 ! Brilliant value for money , they should charge more !

Después de ser un cliente leal de Walkers durante muchos años, me temo que la calidad de la repostería, los pasteles y los panecillos en particular, se ha deteriorado constantemente durante el último año. Tanto es así que me llevaré mi costumbre a otra parte, la gota que colmó el vaso fue hace dos días, el "lardie" que compré no era comestible, no valía la pena devolverlo porque ya había llegado a casa. Lo siento, Walkers, pero adiós.

I would 100% recomend tjhe iced buns are amazing and so are the rolls. Really friendly place and the produce is lovely.

Delicious locally baked bread, cakes and pastries. Try the soft white batch loaf, crusty white rolls, chewy wholemeal, or Honey and Spelt Loaf. In the run up to Easter the locals will be queuing for Hot Cross buns. Be there by 1200 or most things will have sold out. Freshly made sandwiches also available.

We try to visit regularly Its certainly good value for what you get, their cottage pie is the best ever, sadly no room for cakes afterwards it's just so filling

Do try this old stroud bakery the bread is always fresh, the counter staff are very courteous and smiling, they also make sandwiches to order.

Best Custard Tarts around love em need to turn up early as they are very popular do it you won't be sorry

I have to write to praise Walkers for their amazing service. My 93 year old Mother, who has lost most of her sight, was in a panic because she had no marzipan icing for her cake. One phone call later, and it was delivered to her home by a very kind member of staff, who would not take any payment from her. That is what you call service! Thank you so much. You have made my Mother's Christmas!

My wife and I stopped in to pick up some sandwiches to take away and were very impressed with the very low prices (£1.50 for a filled bap) and great service. Also picked up some lovely apple tray bake. Definitely one to recommend for cheap eats.

Lovely rolls here, some of the sponges are delicious. Would recommend the café above for nice homecooked meals - no good for the waistline though!!

Me es muy difícil pasar sin comprar un bollo para elevenses. Los bollos de Chelsea son tan buenas y soy una persona nacida y Essex fue introducido en mantecadas por mi esposa que es nacido oír. Bien, no he encontrado muchos lugares que superar los senderistas.

Nos encanta salir para desayunar, y he probado muchos sitios en la zona, pero esta es la que volver una y otra vez. Muy amable, excelente relación calidad-precio y el pan (por supuesto) es absolutamente fantástico. Todo el personal hacía todo lo posible para satisfacer los requisitos individuales y el lugar tiene una muy cálida bienvenida, Stroud,.

El "Café" es uno encima de la vuelta de la esquina de la panadería. No se desanime por la entrada. Esperamos una mesa libre y quedamos encantados.

Always busy and usually sell out early, this well-established bakers sells a vast range of bread, rolls and take away snacks, The staff are friendly and helpful.

Excelente panadería local. No es una panadería artesanal - de los cuales tenemos muchas en Stroud- pero un lugar para tartas y pasteles mantecadas y rosquillas y pan de lujo encantador. Bueno para llevar sándwiches y nuestro favorito Cross bollos de canela. Lugar para comer un poco por encima de la tienda. No he sido yo, pero mis amigos dicen que es una visita igualmente agradable.

Have been going here for years...(formerly Fowlers !) and have always had fresh and tasty purchases !! Great to see that quality and value for money has remained consistent. Get there early to be sure of getting what you want. Especially recommend the lardy cakes and the jam and cream doughnuts !

Always buy goodies from here to take back to Scotland with me, the bread is the best in the land, be quick though as always sells out early.

Walkers do the best roles/pastries for anyone lunching on the go. Service is fast, food tastes good and is very inexpensive

Be early! Super selection of baked goodies. The bacon rolls are brilliant also. Only drawback is, they sell out really quickly but that's it being so popular and well priced

Good bread, well made, a good range, good prices, take away rolls and butties and such, fresh yeast for the home baker.Its the bakers on the corner and it shuts after lunch as it usually sells out ~ proof of the pudding.

The cafe above the bakers is a brilliant find. There are quite a few steps to climb so not suitable if you have mobility issues otherwise so worth the effort. Food is cooked to order, cakes, lunch, snacks with the tastiest coffee and generous pots of tea. Serving staff friendly, no rush taking orders, take time to peruse menu and take in the relaxed homely atmosphere.Portion sizes are very generous, definate return visit required next time we are at the market.

We love this little cafe if you can manage the stairs it's well worth the effort, all the food is always well cooked and is delicious. The staff are very friendly with a welcoming smile. Great place to eat

There is nothing like an independent baker and this is no exception Always busy. Always a great window display. Great selection of temptation that would upset Public Health England but a good selection of whole grains too. Always worth a visit.

Whether taking food away to eat or eating in the delightful upstairs cafe there is plenty of choice for a delicious coffee break, lunch or tea.

Visited with three friends today. Where can you get fantastic wholesome sandwiches and lovely cappuccinos for a fraction of the price in other places.It was a pleasure to visit and will continue to visit whenever I'm in Stroud.Their cooked meals looked amazing too. It is always fresh and being a bakers their bread is always fresh. The menu is varied...cooked,sandwiches,snacks,homemade soups, quiches,salad,jackets and chips....lovely!

This cafe is up a load of Victorian steep stairs so it's not for everyone, but is lovely when you get there.Nicely decorated, a bit of an olde worlde feel without trying too hard,you get the feeling that this is a good cafe for locals from the surrounding villages and farms but very welcoming with it. Good bread and cakes as they've come from the bakery downstairs. We had a lovely bake which featured mature cheese (mostly you get mild cheddar in these sort of places)and delicious cakes. Highly recommended.

Lovely little tea room above the bakers. Only ever had the toast but it's thick and served with real butter. The breakfasts look wonderful too. Service with a smile and reasonably priced.

Good quality food and friendly staff you never go away hungry just as their sign says (they don't serve fast food they serve fresh food as fast as they can)

Visited with family, was not overimpressed with decor or welcome! Felt very shabby, old plates on tables looked very greasy. Put me off hot food completely. Bathroom sink not clean. Plenty of butter with teacakes which is a positive. Also saw staffs children in kitchen area and wiping tables - a big no no for me for hygiene and safety. Would not go again. Cheap, yes, but ive eaten in plenty of cheap places that were more appealing and had better food. Asked for bill and were left sitting at table, nobody said please come over to till to pay. No cards, notice above kitchen door, wouldnt see it if sat with back to kitchen, bit shortsighted these days.

Fantastic value as the prices are very low and the quantity of food substantial. Add to that some lovely ingredients and you get a great meal.wide range of choice too.All served by the friendly staff!

If you want a typically English breakfast, lunchtime or tea menu (that includes good fresh NOT overcooked vegetables), you could do no better in many a mile, and you will certainly not find such really good food at more modest prices. The only downside are the flights of stairs to be climbed to the main first-floor dining area (and even more up to the toilets). Take your time and give it a go - definitely worth the effort!
