This is a nice cafe just by the coastal paths and a mid size car park making it a convenient spot for walkers. There’s a good selection of tasty snacks and meals but the food took a while to come out.

We enjoyed our second visit to The Café and, as we are moving to the area, we look forward to many more visits. The food is good with a great selection of breakfast and lunch options and fabulous home made cakes! There is always a friendly welcome and the table service is great. Highly recommend a visit when you visit the pretty village of Moulton.

Booked a largish group in for a special afternoon tea for my Mums 80th Birthday. Mandy and Sue were so helpful and welcoming everything was decorated beautifully, the music was an excellent choice and just the right volume. The food was great, lovely fresh scones, still warm, mixture of petit fours and freshly made sandwiches. Thank you so much both of you for making it such a special afternoon for my Mum. Nothing was too much trouble. Everyone enjoyed it and had plenty to eat and drink - expect that some of the guests are likely to be returning now that they know where you are.

Don't normally leave reviews, but after booking afternoon tea for a treat for mum, we were both so impressed I thought I'd leave this review. From entering we were greeted warmly and seated with drinks ordered and served within minutes. The afternoon tea deal was lovely with a few great twists. Definitely recommend the chicken, grape and tarragon mayo sandwich. Will be back for more of that I assure you. I liked the idea of the local art displayed and the chance to meet a local artist, who along with the owner/manager? Took time out to chat with us and make the whole trip memorable. Mum was ever so delighted and so that makes it even more worth while. If you get the chance, please try it. Next time I think I'll try the local, home made soup, sounds delish x

I've been to the cafe twice in the last year and both of these times I have found the host a little icey? The first time, I thought it was because I was late to my booking - It took me a while to walk there as I was rather pregnant. I felt watched and that I had inconvenienced her. However, since the most recent visit I think it is just the host! If this is your income and you built this business, please can you be a little more warming to guests? smile whilst you're speaking to the guests and ask if they are enjoying their lunch, that would help. It was nice food, I'd just like more of it. For £15 pp I'd expect to be really full after an afternoon tea. I really want to feel indulged. A cost effective way might be to add some more sandwiches for each person, or an extra bit of cake. yum yum.

having read the reviews on Trip Advisor I thought we'd visit this café. Sadly, we will not be returning. Despite the lovely photos on this website there was only a coffee and walnut cake and a few tray bakes and scones to choose from. The teacakes had not yet arrived at 11 am so my friend had coffee cake and I had toast and honey. A very poor selection in my view and nothing like advertised in the pictures. There were 2 small dogs in the cafe who barked noisily at the postman when he arrived. The toilet bins had not been emptied and were full of used tissues and toilet roll tubes from the previous day. Not a good sign.We were not made to feel welcome and no checkbacks given. We felt like we were interrupting the manager from her preparing her Groupon afternoon teas. No napkins were given to us with our food as would normally happen in a tearoom as a matter of course. I felt as if we were in a completely different tearoom to the one reviewed on this website! In no way were we made to feel welcome or special. We felt rather ignored. The manager took my payment whilst having a conversation on her mobile phone. Would we return? Definitely not nor would I recommend this place to any family or friends. It definitely got the thumbs down from us. Poor food selection, poor service and poor atmosphere. If you want to try somewhere which is truly excellent visit Grays Coffee shop at Roade! We shall be going back there from now on.

Visited the cafe with my son for only the third time recently and took a friend who was visiting with her little boy. We wont be back. It was fairly near to closing time and it was VERY obvious from the reception we received that the owner would rather we hadn't bothered. There was no conversation, she wasn't able to crack a smile and she looked frustrated at the time it took us to choose what we wanted - no help offered on what choices were available either. We ended up with a sandwich containing the cheapest slices of pre-packed ham and a couple of crisps for the pricely sum of £4.00. The we had to listen to her moaning about how long she had been on her feet. Perhaps if she can't be pleasant and welcoming and doesn't want to stand up - there could be a better career choice!!!Awful atmosphere and sub-standard food as well as less than hygienic toilets.

Love, love, love this place.Fantastic atmosphere, great service and the most delicious cream tea. Selection of sandwiches to start, wow, chicken and tarragon was my favourite. Then a selection of scones with jams and clotted cream, wow again. Then a little selection of cakes to finish you off, yes you guessed it, wow!!!I purchased a Groupon voucher and you definitely get your money's worth. If you are not there for the afternoon tea then there is a menu from which you can choose your usual items from. All the ingredients are locally sourced and you can tell this with the freshness of everything available. There is a large selection of sandwiches, paninis, baked potatoes and much more. Another customer I got talking to said that the chilli nachos is to die for. Maybe I will try these on my next visit. On top of all that there is also an amazing selection of cakes and within this almost all allergies and dietary requirements are covered. The cafe is set out in a beautiful way, it is in no way over crowded. It is warm and welcoming from the moment you reach the top of the stairs. There are paintings covering the walls from a local artist that are available to buy. The artist is changed on a regular basis. Another great idea for the decor of the cafe. The staff are delightful, extremely friendly and can't do enough for you. It is spotlessly clean everywhere. You can see why it has its 5* rating. So what are you waiting for?Go see for yourselves.

My only criticism is that it's up quite a steep set of stairs so those with mobility issues (from what I saw so if there is disabled access I apologise!) unfortunately can't enjoy the cafe. Having read all the good feedback, I feel a bit bad for saying I didn't actually enjoy it much :( I went with my mum on a groupon voucher. We went at 13.00, and were the only ones there initially. I felt it lacked atmosphere, even when a few more people came in. The sandwiches were nice and fresh, but I found the scones hard, dry and tasteless.....plus I prefer clotted cream on them, not fresh whipped cream. I had to go to the counter to ask for more coffee, as I'd waited quite a while for it to be offered. I'd maybe try again, but wouldn't choose the afternoon tea. It didn't feel like a luxury tea

Firstly, the restaurant is above the hairdressers near the garage at the end of the High Street - easy enough to find when you are there but not obvious on Google Maps. I've popped a picture on which shows this a little better. We popped in for lunch with a couple of friends and loved it there. The staff were great and friendly, two of us had the jacket spuds and the other two had sandwiches. The potatoes were light and fluffy (according to my wife) and we both enjoyed our bacon sarnies - one with avocado and one with brie. Both sandwiches were served with a choice of salad / crisps / coleslaw. I only wish I had room to try the cakes ! Top marks for an independent local company - we will certainly be back :)

My wife and I took advantage of a Groupon deal for our anniversary lunch (last of the big spenders) and were very glad we did! The deal was for afternoon tea, which was lovely. A good variation of sandwiches and treats in a quaint cafe with a nice window seat looking over the village of Moulton.Good value, good food, good place, would re-visit in a heart beat!

Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea for 3 at The Cafe @. It was beautifully presented, 3 tiered with a great selection of sandwiches, scones and mini desserts. We'd booked previously and were served by a very friendly and welcoming woman. The cafe had a lovely atmosphere to it, dogs were welcome and there was even an artist painting in the corner. Really enjoyed our time here, it was great value for money too. It was so filling we took some scones home with us! Hope to return in the future :)

Our daughter purchased this for my birthday one of several similar treats. Arrived at the Cafe@, quite steep stairs (not suitable for disable persons). Nicely laid out room greeted by a pleasant lady, gave her the voucher, who pointed out our reserved table. Ordered our coffee and tea prior to sitting down. A lovely three slate display stand arrived immediately which said come and eat me, sandwiches nice selection great white and brown bread good fillings. The scones with a pleasant strawberry jam and Great creamIn nice little pots. The selection of small cakes nice flavours. The first time my wife has been asked if she would like more coffee. I would love to give it 5 stars but although it was a quiet Wednesday it lacked a little finesse.

Had the tea for two arranged as a collection. Was to die for selection of sandwhiches and cakes. It was very yummy and fresh. Well worth the money. I also had a hot chocolate and cake another day and was so delicious. I live just down the road and this will definitely become a regular place I visit. Thank you and keep up the good work and food.

booked to treat a friend for her birthday - so we had afternoon tea, which was ready when we arrived. it was excellent value for money and the staff were great. Its nice and informal and we will definitely be back - people on the next table were having lunch and that looked equally as good. They also cater for groups of up to about 24, which is handy for lunch groups etcwould recommend!

Four of us visited this afternoon for afternoon tea and weren't disappointed. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were delicious - just the right size and the right quantity of them. The teapot kept being re-filled (very important!) and the staff were friendly and attentive. The only - very minor - negative for me was that the teapot spout was chipped and the teacup was a little thick and rather stained. I would have much preferred a bone china cup...On the whole though, it was a very pleasant visit and I will be back and recommending it to others. Thank you.

Went here with my husband and young child. We had afternoon tea for two which was very tasty and there was plenty for us both. Our little girl had a sandwich from the children's menu which she thoroughly enjoyed. The staff are lovely and the setting was great. We had a window seat which overlooked a birds nest which my daughter loved.

@ is located above the hairdressers in Moulton village. There is a single door from the street to the lobby leading up the steep narrow staircase. I'd guess that prams would be a struggle. It's certainly not wheelchair friendly. With very mild mobility issues the stairs were a challenge to two of our party.Once inside the cafe its fresh, airy and clean. The welcome was pleasant without being overpowering. The menu offered an outstanding selection of sandwiches and a good selection of drinks. There was no lemon for lemon tea and no honey for sweetening. The pot of tea had sufficient t bags and brewed well. The sandwiches arrived and were nicely garnished with the selections made by our party - all freshly prepared.Only one sweet was chosen, a lovely home made scone - as good as it looked! The single WC could have done with a bit of a "freshen up". It wasn't dirty - just needed a wipe over. All in all our lunch was good and we would all be happy to go back again.

My work partners and my self are new to this area and needed a place to chat and discuss work. When we arrived through the door, the smell of the food was to die for. Lovely open planned floor area and great character. Myself and my colleagues were welcomed to a table. All staff were polite and was a great atmosphere. Will definitely be going back there again. Nice coffee too. So thumbs up for me

We visited the Cafe@ last weekend, this place is tucked away on the first floor of a lovely stone building, despite the steep stairs I was greeted by the staff who were friendly and helpful, nice clean and warm atmosphere, great coffee and a whole feast of well prepared sandwiches and cakes. Definitely worth a visit.

I have been a long time visitor of the cafe@. My daughter had her birthday afternoon tea at the old premises at jgallery which was exceptional. The new premises however in my opinion is even better. Light and airy with some stunning artwork. I always pick a window seat so I can watch the hustle and bustle of the village centre. The staff are always very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The cakes are to die for and the scones are huge and very tasty. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

Lovely gem of a place, just a few mins from M1 (why suffer motorway services?!). The chips are EPIC and the atmosphere is nice and cozy. Staff had lots to do when we were there, but they managed to sort us a walk-in table, in amongst the "Reserved" signs - clearly others already knowledgeable of this great place. Music speaker right by the till makes it a little hard to hear when you're ordering/paying, but that's the worst 'niggle' I can think of! Kids meal pricing worthy of note too - exceptional value.

Best Fish and chip shop in the area. Great service, and you can have a pint of beer while you wait.

Absolutely the best fish and chips I’ve ever tried! The fish was perfectly cooked, tender, and fresh, while the chips were golden and crispy. To top it off, the customer service was fantastic – friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
