The Cadogan Lounge in Kensington and Chelsea

In short: delicious food, terrible service, very disappointed. In the positives, the food is mostly outstanding. The savouries were the best I've had in any afternoon tea in London, and the 2 pâtisseries were incredible. The pre-dessert was delicious. The tea selection is also very good. But this is unfortunately let down by what is mostly very poor service. The start was great, with really lovely staff serving the savouries, but after that, we waited ages between courses. No milk was offered, and we waited a long time for our teas. My pot of White Peony arrived over-brewed and a little bitter, however I didn't want to complain as it would have cause some more delays. But really the worst part was the wait - the table next to us had to leave because of how long the wait was! Our scones were served last because somehow they ran out (it doesn't take 2 hours to bake scones). This feels wrong, sorry! And the cake slices were tiny and overly warm, because they were the last things on the cake trolley for hours. It was obvious they ran out. When we chased for scones after nearly a 45min of wait, we got them 20 min later but with no apology or explanation of why it took so long. When you charge £75 and add a 15% service charge, you expect outstanding service, or at least some apology if there are issues. This was not the case, and it does not do justice to the food served. Overall it leaves us disappointed, and we probably won't be back.

Honestly, super disappointed. We dined as a group for afternoon tea - the savoury course was better than any afternoon tea I've ever had, the egg truffle sandwich, the wagyu cornbread, the salmon!!! All utterly amazing and we were very happy. Then service fell off a cliff - we had to chase for the next course, waited 45 minutes for the sweets and had a limited selection as the cake trolley was almost out (at an afternoon tea!!). We had to flag people down for a refresh of the tea. We felt utterly forgotten by the time we received the scones, (which should have been earlier in the tea). For something built around the Michelin star patisserie reputation of the chef, it left a bitter taste In short - excellent food, excellent tea, massively let down by the service which we can only assume was an unexpected blip given the other reviews! What should have been a fantastic experience, we left feeling pretty annoyed, let down and disappointed. Sorry Benoit, no Boom.

Very happy with our afternoon tea here. Would not hesitate to go back. Beautiful room, great service, everything was delicious.

Afternoon Tea at the The Cadogan🌷🫖 We had a selection of savoury bites, followed by a HUGE selection of sweet treats🥑🍩 I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about this tea. There was a variety of savoury bites that had amazing flavours. My favourites were: 🍳Egg mayonnaise sandwich with parmesan crisp and winter truffle - it was so moreish, the parmesan and truffle added so much to the sandwich, elevating the flavour. I loved it so much, I had another one lol. Also my new fav obsession is winter truffle. 🥩BBQ corn bread with cured wagyu beef and chilli sauce - ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. This was UNREAL. It had a creamy bbq sauce on the base of the cornbread, topped with corn and then cured wagyu beef. 🧁We then had some sweet morsels which were incredible! We had a coffee and cardamom religieuse which had such a smooth caramel inside and a rhubarb and timur pepper pebble, which was gorgeously light and the rhubarb flavour was magnificent. 🥧 (I think the rhubarb pebble was my favourite piece of the tea.) We also had scones with cream and jam which were delightful.🍓 We could then choose a slice of cake from the sweet trolley and we chose the chocolate and hazelnut marble cake and the lemon meringue cake. 🍫 🍋The lemon cake had an AMAZING citrus flavour combined with a sweet lemon gooey centre topped with soft meringue. ☕️Alongside all these treats, I tried the Cadogan’s twist on a breakfast tea blend and a Milk Oolong tea. The milk oolong was SO NICE!!! It had a creamy caramel flavour, which kind of tasted like a dessert in itself! If I could go back tomorrow I would. It was the most incredible afternoon filled with so many gorgeous nibbles. I couldn’t recommend this afternoon tea enough.

Highly recommend this spot for high tea! 75€ per person is a steal for how much you receive. It’s absolutely beautiful and the service was incredible!

Any afternoon tea has to be compared with Fortnum & Mason. The environment is less splendid, being more personable. Portion size more acceptable with the variety and flavours taken to a new level. Benoit exercises his talents to the full.

The best 5* afternoon tea, top notch savoury sandwiches, excellent patisseries and cakes, not too sweet - very fine experience.

My friend and I had festive afternoon tea today. All the staff were lovely, as others have said. The whole experience felt very personal and less like a conveyor belt with set seating times, as I have found in other locations. The lady who looked after us was attentive, professional and made us feel welcome and looked after but without a contrived, false feel. The food was delicious and my difficult allergy was v well catered for. As I say, we were not hurried out and had a lovely time. The hotel is very classy too. Would v much recommend.

Beautiful lounge and absolutely lovely staff, but insanely overpriced for mediocre food. I feel like I wasted 176 pounds just for two people.

We were made very welcome by Vanessa and her staff, The Cadogan is now firmly in my little black book of places to go back and revisit. After experiencing afternoon tea at the usual high profile establishments of the Ritz, Claridges and F & M the Cadogan stands the clear winner for their innovative food and totally relaxed atmosphere. A most memorable afternoon with my wife and daughter - recommend this great new venue for afternoon tea addicts.

An outstanding experience, the food was delicious with the best scone ever tasted with an amazing French twist on a classic afternoon tea giving it something very special. The service was outstanding lead by Vanessa and the interaction from expert Head Chef Benoit made it a unique afternoon.

Located in one of the best hotel in the area, the lounge is really beautiful and the staff are friendly and extremely attentive. Food is decent but at £70 per person the quantity and quality can be a little better. Still, it was a lovely afternoon as the staff were all great and the lounge is a lovely place to be in.

For our 25th anniversary we did afternoon tea on Thursday 16.08.23 and it was excellent! our server (young woman) forgot her name was simply delightful, very attentive. Will absolutely do it again next time we're in London with our daughter!

Food service and tea was fabulous.

The afternoon tea was made exceptional by the service provided by Vanessa and Sarah, the sommelier. The ambiance was beautiful and I would recommend - attention to details for food selections and tea preferences was extremely helpful.

I had the afternoon tea at the cadogan, the food was so tasty! Vanessa and Juan are very very kindness, and service was perfect.

Such a cute place for afternoon tea, Viviana treated us like royalty! Lots of fine tea selection, and mouthwatering desserts. Decor is warm and cozy. If you are looking for the tourist tea experience perhaps Cadogan is not Ritz-like, but a true relaxing and enjoyable tea experience! Would definitely recommend friends to go!

What an experience! I booked an afternoon tea to take my mum for a special occasion and it was an incredible experience. We were welcomed by Viviana and Vanessa and these two ladies made all the difference.. the service? impeccable! Their professionalità and manners second to none. Their suggestions on the teas was spot on we had the tiramisu tea and the milk Oolong. Also we were able to try the Apple strudel tea.. a must for cinnamon lovers. Every serving of food was fully explained prior to eating it and we really appreciate this additional touch especially my mum. I have been to a few afternoon teas over the years but this one at the Maison Lounge Cadogan is by far the best i have had. I really want to make my mum’s first afternoon experience unforgettable and this one really was. Viviana Vanessa thank you so much for making this possible.

妻と2人で月曜の昼過ぎに行きました。建物の中に入ると奥に案内され、絨毯が敷かれ、中央に大きな花が飾られた上品な部屋に通されました。店員さんは非常に朗らかで、明るく、とても雰囲気が良かったです。 アフタヌーンティーも甘過ぎず、美味しかったです。 紅茶もとても香り高く、お勧めされた紅茶もお砂糖がいらないほど、甘い香りがして美味しかったです。 また機会があれば是非訪れたいです。

Juan と　Vanessa はとても親切に接客してくれました。セイボリーの説明や、紅茶の説明も丁寧にしてくれたので分かりやすくて良かったです。 距離感も丁度良く、楽しく会話できつつもゆっくりお茶を飲めるよう配慮してくれて良かったです。 紅茶はおすすめのフレーバーを2種類も教えてくれたので、選びやすかったです。紅茶のフレーバーを気に入ったと言ったら、サービスで茶葉を包んでくれて嬉しかったです。 雰囲気も、ゆっくりティータイムを楽しめて、落ち着いた雰囲気で居心地が良かったです。 日本人の友達にもおすすめしたいと思います。

友人とアフタヌーンティーをいただきました。室内のしつらえは素敵で、サンドイッチやケーキも美味しくクオリティの高いものでした。しかしながら、2人いたスタッフはずっとスマホを触っており、呼べば来てはくれましたが、一流ホテルのスタッフとしては相応しくないと感じました。またtake awayを2人分に分けて頼んだところ、ひとつの袋に全てが入って出てきました。一つづつ分けて欲しいものを伝えたにもかかわらず出てきたものがそれだったので、びっくり。スタッフ不足で久しいとはいえ、これにはさすがにがっかりさせられました。

Wir haben einen sehr stilvollen und leckeren Afternoon Tea in entspannter Atmosphäre genossen. Der Service ist sehr persönlich und aufmerksam. Es gibt nicht viele Tische, was das Erlebnis sehr exklusiv macht. Bereits am Eingang des Hotels hat uns der Doorman sehr freundlich empfangen und bis zum Restaurant begleitet. Zum Abschied hat er uns aufmerksam verabschiedet. Solche Details zeigen den Charme dieser Location.

Det et utroligt utroligt smukt sted. Indretningen er kongelig fin men også varmt og hyggeligt. Maden var også velsmagende. Vi spise middagsmad, og fik lov at side alen i et lokale inde bag ved. Men selvom vi sad der inde, var de super gode til stadig at have service i top. Deres tatar var så super lækker og man fik lov at se dem lave det. Kan anbefales

Went there for afternoon tea mid-December, a group of 5 people. First, the good part - the decorations and food were absolutely great - especially the food! Now for the not-so-good part. I originally had booked for 3 people but then changed to 5 after calling a few days earlier, however the table we were given was clearly "not for 5", although we did manage to fit. The room wasn't even full, a few tables were free (and remained free during our visit). We got there for 15:30 and around 15:45 were asked whether we'd like to be server and we said yes. The food arrived at 16:30 - that's a 45 minute wait. Also, a family of 4 that arrived _after us_ was server before us. Usually I wouldn't mind but since we had to wait for 45 minutes, it looks bad. The service was incredibly slow, and what was supposed to be a 2 hour visit lasted a bit over 3 hours, with a lot of the time trying to get the staff's attention. I don't know if Cadogan was just having a bad day, but our visit was a bit disappointing.

Luxurious tea break, just perfect!

Our first afternoon experience and it was exceptional! Impeccable service, Chris was attentive and entertaining, with interesting suggestions for teas to sample. Food was delicious and plentiful. Highly recommend.

Staff lovely. Presentation beautiful, variety good. Did not find the quality of the food as good as usual for London special 'afternoon tea' The sandwiches, the bread, quite dry and 1 or 2 of the cakes. Sorry.

Lovely bar, with excellent selection of wines and cocktails. A very pleasant evening, with fantastic drink reccomendations made by the friendly and knowledgeable staff, big thanks to Jean-Luc, Marco and rest of the team. See you soon!

The best High Tea experience in London. Outstanding food and service.

Leonard and the team are fantastic, we wanted for nothing throughout the meal and the edible birthday candle topped off an absolutely perfect experience. Thank you all for being so attentive and making the day so special

We went the other day, and were lucky to have the newly designed menu. It was amazing. Would highly recommend. The savory side of it was the best in our opinion with incredible pulled pork pork pie and mackerel caviar to say the highlights! Service was really what made the experience too, very well looked after. Many thanks to them all.

Deeply disappointed with the afternoon tea.that I experienced on 23 December. There were elements that were sublime (the lobster thermador tartlet was sensational as was the lemon cake). We were given one item each on all the sandwiches and the savoury items. However, we had to cut each of the miniature cakes in half as we were not given one each ... which was very stingy for the £55 a head price. The service was the main issue. Poor doesn't even cover it. It was abysmal. We were completely forgotten about and I had to ask for the scones twice and ask for a new pot of tea (the waiting staff didnt check on us at all in the space of 45 minutes). I even had to ask for the bill three times! This really marred the experience which was a special occasion for myself and my Godson. With a total bill of £167 which included 2 glasses of house sparkling wine and 2 bottles of water plus service (which, with hindsight I shouldn't have paid but I was too embarrassed to say anything in front of my Godson). This could have been an amazing experience but with the stingy cake portions and the terrible service. They really need to raise their game. I would not recommend this afternoon tea and there are far better establishments with a lower price tag that will deliver a much better experience.
