Perfectly nice folks and healthy food!

Lovely, cosy atmosphere, kind staff, and, most importantly, absolutely incredible food. Eating here felt like being invited into somebody's home for a (beautiful, laboured over) meal.

Fellow traveler you happen to be in London, near Earls Court station or high Street Kensington station.  This gem of a place deserves your visit.  It is a delli style cafe restaurant.  When you enter the establishment you will find it unassuming, quaint it is.  I was told by the two men operating the business that the business has been in operation for more than 30 years.  I understand the reason a business could last that long is due to its high quality of the product it serves.  Please look at the pictures if you think it looks delicious. When you taste it, your mouth will say your eyes are deceiving you. It's much better.  I fell in love with their yellow saffron rice they were serving the day I was there.  Are you vegetarian,  possibly vegan?. This place it's got you covered.  If you enjoy meat, you too will find this place amazing!.  To sum it up, they have meat options as well as vegetarian options.  The one thing that you will find when you dine here is that you are having comfort food not everyday food.  I have to come back to have lunch here again.  I urge you and encourage you to do your palette a flavor, that's right. A flavor not just a favor.  Try this place out.

Visited when in a bit of a hurry. Staff were lovely and accomodating. Food came out quickly and was delicious. We enjoyed our visit very much and would not hesitate to go back

Wonderful gathering in this warm welcoming cafe with attentive staff and delicious food. A few things we wanted had sold out so probably best to eat at lunchtime to get the full menu. Will be coming again to try that spinach pie!

Whilst on a visit to London for an evening concert at the Royal Albert Hall, and after a long morning of museums and walking the next day, on Wed 8 Nov we decided to try this cafe/restaurant for our late lunch. We were drawn in by the very varied Armenian/Persian menu and the lady owner Tania was extremely welcoming and friendly, so we immediately felt comfortable there. One of us needed a meal without gluten, dairy or egg and Tania was extremely helpful with the menu and we felt that there was a lot of choice. The food served was all fresh, tasty and delicious and we would happily recommend to others. Meeting Tania was very interesting and we will definitely return on our next visit to this area of London.

We were well received by a very friendly woman. The decor and atmosphere is nice and comfortable. Order arrived on time and the temperature of the food was perfect. The food tasted good. The portions though were quite small. And we are not big eaters, quite to the contrary. The bill the final kick in the backside. Way too expensive. I do not feel that this was worth the price.

A great find! Fantastic food and friendly service. Our lunch was out quickly and we enjoyed talking with the staff and taking their menu recommendations. We are travelers but would recommend this spot to anyone!

Lovely cafe, the best crossaint I've had outside of Paris! Lovely coffee & the owner was very nice, he gave us directions & an underground route to where we needed to go! I will be back to try some of the other delicious things on the menu, the food smelt so good. Thank you 😊

The food tasted really good, but wasn't a huge portion, and was expensive. 3 meatballs with tsatsiki were £18; 3 salads around the same. That with a lemonade and wine came to £60. It's a shame because the atmosphere was nice; slightly lower prices would have made this a really perfect places

We have been coming to Jakobs for years, mostly as our go-to place for takeaway. Unfortunately we noticed that the food & service has deteriorated over the past year. The two owners have become very dismissive and rude when a customer enters, sometimes without even saying hello or welcome or even looking at you (they only warmly welcome larger groups of people who they know will pay a bigger bill than 1or 2 people would..). Also, for takeaway food we noticed that the employees (a younger lady and an older man) are always much more generous with the portions they put (i always hope that they will be the ones serving me!), whereas if the two owners prepare the wraps or the boxes, they put minimal amount of food inside and are never flexible with ingredients (last wrap i bought barely had any stuffing and was completely cold on the inside and only slightly toasted on the outside even though i tried it straight away - i had to regrill it at home!!). You would expect the opposite - that the owners of an establishment would be more generous and conscious of their customers! Overall a shame one of our favourite places has deteriorated due to the owners' attitudes, especially since the food they have is actually delicious - thankfully the employees are still the reason we may consider coming back.

Lovely staff, such kind people. Delicious and authentic Armenian food. Feel like you’ve come to your grandparents’ home to eat. A gem. Definitely will be back.

We love this cosy and welcoming place run by Tania and colleagues. The food is constantly good, freshly cooked and healthy. Every visit is a pleasant one.

Tania runs a lovely and cosy place. The atmosphere always feels welcoming and peaceful. Her food was healthy, flavoursome and fresh. I have been discovering Armenian and Persian food here. Every time is a friendly and welcoming experience.

We stumbled upon Jakobs looking for a place to lunch. The staff was very kind and helpful. With many vegetarians there was much choice and we can really recommend the quiche!

We just happened upon Jakobs and we were so glad we did. The food is fresh and full of home cooked love. The atmosphere is cozy, there's no rush. We tried the lasagna and stuffed cabbage both were excellent.

After eating at this establishment, I know never to eat here again. On entry we was introduced by a sweet welcoming woman. She was very pleasant and offered the group water on arrival and asked us if we would adjust temperature of place to accommodate. Unfortunately that is where the positives end. After taking our order of 6 the server became flustered.I could understand that a confusing order sometimes can be difficult. However out of the 6 peoole , 4 of the orders was the same and 2 were different. The food slowly came out one by one, each looking increasing worse as they arrived. She said she was on her own and that was why the food was taking so long. Admittedly I felt guilty for judging. However ,seeing 2 "chefs" walk out for a cigarette and knowing this lady lied to us made matters worse. I was shocked to see the state of the dish what was called "Armenian eggs " which was tinned tomatoes , chucked on two over cooked eggs with a slice of regular wholemeal bread. I didn't take a photo of the food as after waiting what seemed like lifetime for this meal I thought I'd like to eat it whilst it was semi hot. My next shock was so see that the meal cost me £16, which by the matter of fact is same cost as the savoy and let me tell you this wasn't half as close to same standard as that. Me and my work colleagues felt utterly ripped off and descived. I'm glad I didn't get the full "English breakfast" which wasn't given option of how the customer wanted their eggs. It was missing sausage from all the breakfast and tomatoes from some. However from the state of the undercooked bacon which was still oinking , my colleagues were glad that there wasn't a sauage on there. To make the breakfast even worse there was a compulsory 2 slices of bread with a surcharge of 2.50 .which was basic wholemeal bread. What really got me to write this horrible but true review was that a cup of tea was a fiver. You couldn't pay me to eat in this "restraunt" again save your money and your taste buds!!!

We had a good lunch of Falafel Plate (with the best hummus ever tasted.)and Baked Stuffed Peppers.

Was casting about for somewhere to get a decent, non-anodyne salad - this place was amazing and felt like you had wandered into a family kitchen full of delicious, convivial, gently argumentative cooking.

Delicious food friendly service will definitely come back soon.

I used to live around the corner from Jakob’s and oh how I miss it! I began coming for the amazing, healthy, organic and fresh food - truly home cooking… and I ended up becoming close friends with the owners and their family - as well as with other Jakob’s regulars! It really is a place with true heart and soul. There is a real community spirit and genuine love and warmth that is so unusual! I have never been anywhere quite like it. I recently visited and took a friend with me who had never been… she was blown away by the atmosphere, the food and the hospitality. Tania brought us so many delicious plates of food… and then refused to let us pay! They have often been so generous with me - in more ways than one. I truly miss being round the corner from such loving people (and amazing food). Do go in and say hi - and if you’re lucky enough to live nearby, join the little community of Jakob’s “regulars”… you will not regret it!

Incredible food, service and atmosphere!

Food was lovely shame customer service wasn’t, I had egg on sourdough with avocado when it was served up it was minus an egg as supposed to have two and the one I had was very hard, I asked the lady kindly if I could have my egg changed as my egg was hard and not nice and soft, she told me in a rude manner that I was difficult and what can she do with the egg, I should give it to my friend she said. I politely said well if you don’t change it I am within my rights to walk out of here when she told me I would still have to pay £10.50 for eating a small piece of cucumber which they give free. Would never go again

Homely atmosphere with simple delicious food.

We're fans of organic dishes, particularly Mediterranean meals. After reading reviews by previous customers we decided to give Jakobs a try and were delighted with the service, our meals as well as the price-point. They also offered outside seating which for us is very important and equally as important they were very attentive in making sure our needs were met.

It's definitely not worth the money you paying. I can't recommend this restaurant.

It was like coming into a friends mum's house, and being looked after with attention and food. Unusual. And we ate slowly because the salmon tasted so good. And then on our Monday evening we had the room to ourselves which made it even more special. And then a special gift of homemade chocolate cake. A big tip.

We booked a table at Jakobs to enjoy a meal before a show at the Royal Albert Hall nearby- and couldn't have picked a better restaurant. The host and staff were the friendliest, most accommodating people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting throughout my five years in London. The Armenian food was authentic, perfectly seasoned and arrived at our table very quickly after ordering. They even gave us coffees on the house just because they didn't have the wine we were interested in trying- a lovely touch. We will *definitely* be back and I highly encourage you to book a table if you're ever in the area. You won't regret it.

I stopped by for some coffee (espresso), and everyone was amazing! The owner (assuming that was him), had a great sense of humor. It was a great experience, I kinda wanted to eat again because everything looked good.

Lovely setting, very understated. Service is way above most places. Come here to feel at home, relax and eat nice food. The food is prepared and warmed up but don't let that put you off.

I walked past the restaurant but noticed thr food on display. The display is a joy of food colour.i had a wrap with selections of salads.The food is fresh soo tasty and good price.If you want fresh health cooked food go in and let your taste buds enjoy.

The stuffed vine leaves were the best we've ever tasted, the stuffed peppers also a highlight, and the Armenian sparkling wine was a really pleasant surprise. Jakobs appears to be busier at lunchtime at the moment, but our dinner experience was so good we'd return for either mealtime. It feels like you're eating at someone's home rather than in a restaurant, it has that warmth and welcome that's hard to achieve. We will return!

We just got a take away from Jakob’s via Deliveroo and it was really tasty, it was flavoursome, substantial and just seemed homemade and wholesome. Looking forward to dining in person next time!

I ordered a Deliveroo from here and it arrived in 20 minutes, I Ordered cous cous with the chicken and spicy potatoes, it was delicious. A card with a thank you note came with the delivery, i wanted to say, no, thank YOU.

I used to live in the area 20 years ago and bought food and wine from Jakob which was more of a deli than a restaurant then. So delighted to see it has survived Covid and other problems. Loved the stuffed aubergine.

I ordered a build it your own signature bowl as a deliveroo takeaway. Very nice and great portion size too for price! Finished the whole thing.

Visited this charming restaurant whilst on a visit to the Royal Albert Hall .The owners / staff were so welcoming and eager to make sure we had a good experience .I had a beautiful sourdough cheese and tomato salad which was light ,hot and delicious . My sister had a grilled chicken wrap and loved it ! The accompanying salad was fresh and colourful .Prices very reasonable especially for that area .Highly recommended !

Never again! I wanted to buy a blueberry muffin but the price was £ 2.50. For a single muffin! I politely refused when I heard the price but the lady serving me told me that she can give to me for £2 . I said ok and waited for the card machine. She didn’t deduct the 50 pence I was expected but kept and on looking into her eyes to notice any common sense. Nothing! She smiled and I left but will never come again. Ridiculously spicy prices and of course, it’s not that I am poorer without 50 p, it’s the way I was treated.

What a welcome delight to stumble across Jakob's Cafe & Deli. The authentic warmth and genuine hospitality had me return night after night to sit amid the calm atmosphere after a long day. I enjoyed working my way through the tempting daily specials, savouring new tastes from the Middle East and Armenia - all so freshly prepared with recommendations by the family owners. Most highly recommended for superior, home-style cuisine with true caring service. A rare find - commendation highly deserved.

Really nice wrap and a decaf coffee in the sun. Maybe it's the end of lockdown feeling but really enjoyed my breakfast with Russian salad.

Really disappointed, the food was stone cold (not the deliver fault as they where shop to door in less than 10 mins) Almost as if it come out the fridge nothing was warm, potatoes were raw carrots were oiley. Was looking forward to this but could not recommend unfortunately.

WOW! Your food is 10/10. Just had the chicken shawarma bowl with cheese rolls and it was absolutely amazing, I had to write a review. From a Middle Eastern background - definitely DELICIOUS. Highly recommend. And a very large portion! Amazing flavours.

The most amazing home made food in town. The food is always fresh. They use organic ingredients as as far as I’m aware. I could not say anything bad about this place as you truly feel welcome and the food is insanely good!
