Having heard much about Gordon Ramsay’s flagship restaurant and its prestigious three Michelin stars, expectations were understandably high. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be underwhelming—more in line with a solid one-star establishment than the pinnacle of fine dining. From the moment of arrival, things felt odd. A randomly placed hostess acted almost like a bouncer at the door, leading into a long, clinical corridor of glass and bright light—not exactly a warm welcome. The main dining room was surprisingly cramped, featuring 13 circular tables, most seating 2 or 4, with a pole in the center of the room adding to the awkward layout. The décor combined lilac and beige upholstery, beechwood, and circular wood chandeliers with soft uplighting. Elegant perhaps, but not particularly inspiring or atmospheric. A letdown for a restaurant of this calibre: no cocktails on offer. I was told they could do a gin and tonic—hardly inventive, and a surprising oversight for a three-star place. Service felt overly orchestrated at times—two waiters handling each plate added formality, but also an odd sense of performance. Amuse Bouche • Cheese puff – Light, well-executed. • Lobster tart – Fresh and enjoyable. • third tart-good Summer Salad: A composed dish of guanciale, peaches, fine beans, and hazelnuts. One of the highlights—the guanciale was exceptional and the peaches were perfectly sweet. Bread: Served with herbed brioche and cultured butter. Fresh and satisfying. Lobster Ravioli: Stuffed with lobster, langoustine, and salmon in a sauce Américaine. The ravioli itself was good, but the spoon had a strange texture—its patterned base made eating awkward and mildly unpleasant. Cornish Turbot: Served with celtuce, celery, walnuts, and vadouvan. The turbot itself was quite small, with a fishy taste. The sauce was fine, but nothing stood out. Herdwick Hogget: Paired with romesco, black olive, and marjoram. The hogget was on the gamey side, with a somewhat muddled flavour. 100-Day Aged Beef: Served with morels, leek, black garlic, and a sauce Diane. Rich sauce and good cooking technique, but overall average, lacking the deep umami one might expect. Plum & Shiso Sorbet: A palate cleanser that was oddly floral, almost minty—not particularly refreshing. Pecan Praline: Accompanied by Pedro Ximénez and cocoa nib ice cream. The nuts were the highlight, but overall it was just okay. Ambience started strong but declined noticeably around 7pm, as the space began to feel louder and more chaotic.By 8pm, I was full—perhaps too full—but not especially satisfied. A restaurant carrying three Michelin stars is expected to offer a transcendent, memorable experience across service, ambience, and food. While there were some competent dishes, the execution, atmosphere, and creativity fell short. At best, it ranks as a one-star experience. Disappointing.

Mixed feelings, overall I do not recommend and do not consider it good value. We were two people who had lunch on a Tuesday early in May 2025. We both had the Prestige menu which is Gbp 240 per person. I include service as nothing "discretionary" about 15% service charge. THE FOOD Let me start with the excellent: The food, almost all, was beautifully presented and cooked. "Almost all" the food was beautifully cooked and presented, the gluten free bread was poor, astonishingly poor, dry and tasteless. The glutenous bread was too heavily loaded with lherbs for my liking I thought it overwhelmed the sauces (i used it to mop up sauces on the dishes). It was also drizzled with honey which made my fingers sticky a bit impractical. THE ATMOSPHERE. From the outside its a lovely looking place. When you open the door you are faced with an unwelcoming corridor, no natural light, no people, no welcome until you get to the end and turn left. The room is bland in decoration and that's sort of OK. The tables for two are mostly lined along the walls and pressed against the walls so that the chairback touches the wall. My elbows were knocking the wall. When you wish to move the staff move the table so that you can do that. I felt uncomfortable against the wall. I felt uncomfortable for the staff moving tables around. I felt uncomfortable asking them to do that for me. I moved the table and chair and had to ask twice if we could just leave it where it was slightly away from its initial location so I could free my elbows to be wreckless. Each time we heard our neighbour bang his elbows against the wall my wife and I looked knowingly at each other. The restaurant had 16 guests on the day we visited, about half full, which dampened the atmosphere. THE SERVICE. The wait staff were pleasant enough. Service was OK. But it wasn't great. Water glasses were refilled far too frequently. It felt like one sip caused one refill ( I'm exaggerating, but.....). I found it a little absurd and eventually a little annoying. There was one strange moment in the service. For perhaps 30 seconds my wife and I could hear a woman's voice screaming. Quiet for 10 seconds and then another shorter round of screaming. Audible in the dining room. Emanating, we judged, from elsewhere in the building behind the dining room. Was this really what I imagined it to be? I hoped not but I had, rightly or wrongly, imagined what was happening and that negatively impacted my enthusiasm forthe restaurant. The strong card here is the food (almost all of it). The total bill a touch over gbp 500 for two; no wine, no coffee/tea, no upsells, just the prestige menu and water. Gbp 300 of the total is payable on booking. Overall I do not recommend and do not consider my experience to have been good value.

Had to come to the famous Restaurant Gordon Ramsay as the first time in London. The service from beginning to end was excellent. Every dish was delicious on the prestige tasting course. I was genuinely excited to finally try a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the anticipation. The food wasn't bad by any means—just underwhelming for the price and the name behind it. Nothing we ordered truly stood out or impressed our group. The lobster was probably the highlight, though even that felt a bit underwhelming. The raspberry dessert, however, was a hit—beautifully presented and delicious.

I prefer my cod battered, fried, and served with chips and mushy peas, but so what? Ramsey has earned the respect of a generation, and I have no additional culinary insight to add, and certainly no photos to share. It's a delight, and if you are serious about food (and wine) you know all about it. The wine markup up is 4-5x, which is way above my paygrade, but was immaculately served, I rejected a fusty bottle, and it was swapped without a murmur, what more can you ask? I don't usually spend £3,800 on dinner for 4pax on Saturday, but if you wanna play you sometimes need to pay. Ha! Dont change a thing, well apart from my cod, see you next time...

No doubt this is an excellent restaurant with a great ambience and fantastic staff/hospitality. However, the food while excellent does not reach the level of what a three Michelin star experience should achieve. After all the food is the centerpiece of the show - and while everything was creative and fresh-tasting - nothing felt truly exceptional. We had the Carte Blanche tasting experience and left feeling under whelmed. I suspect the 3-star rating of this restaurant is based mainly on the celebrity status of its namesake which is ironic since he is no longer the chef at this establishment. I feel it is very worthy of a Michelin star but one star at most.

The staff were absolutely exceptional and the service was flawless—easily the highlight of the evening. The presentation of each dish was beautiful, as expected at this level. However, the food itself was surprisingly underwhelming. We tried both the carte blanche and the prestige menu. The duck, for example, was bland, and the shiitake XO completely overpowered the dish with salt. The flavor pairings felt off, and despite quality ingredients, there was no “wow” moment. Honestly, it felt like the chef wasn’t in the kitchen that night. It’s a lovely, intimate setting, and the name sets very high expectations—but the culinary experience didn’t meet them. For a £750 dinner for two, the food simply didn’t deliver. It felt more like a one-star evening riding on a three-star brand. I shared my feedback openly with the staff, and I don’t usually write reviews like this—but I wish I’d seen one before booking. Maybe we were just unlucky, but at this level, consistency should never be a gamble.

This is a restaurant I really want to try it but unfortunately I think I will not try it ! I had a very disappointing experience trying to make a reservation at this restaurant. During the call, the receptionist picked up the phone and started talking to me. I told her I wanted to book a table for one, and she asked, “What time?” I replied, “This weekend?” and she immediately asked again, “What day? “in a very impatient and aggressive tone. When I tried to answer and clarify, she interrupted, said she couldn’t understand me, and hung up the phone. I felt she was very annoyed and unwilling to communicate with me, possibly due to my accent. This is unacceptable, especially from a Michelin three-star restaurant. I was shocked by how rude and unprofessional the service was. It felt discriminatory and dismissive. Everyone deserves to be treated with basic respect, regardless of their language background. I hope the management seriously looks into this behavior. I sincerely hope this wasn’t an issue of racial bias, but it certainly felt that way.

We opted for the Experience table, expecting a truly exceptional dining journey, but unfortunately, we left feeling underwhelmed. Having previously dined at a Michelin-starred restaurant, I anticipated a level of culinary artistry that would set this three starred restaurant apart. Instead, what we received was, at best, ordinary. The dishes, while presented beautifully, lacked the depth of flavor and creativity one would expect at this price point. I have dined at restaurants that offered more courses, utilized a wider range of ingredients, and delivered a far superior gastronomic experience—all for a lower price. The so-called "Experience" failed to justify its cost or reputation. Best regards to the staff, but this is beyond its price range. Ultimately, this felt less like a celebration of fine dining and more like an overpriced exercise in mediocrity. For those seeking true innovation and excellence, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London is undoubtedly an incredible culinary experience with exquisite food and (almost) flawless service. The dishes are packed with flavor, and you can really taste the care put into each course. The staff is attentive, and the ambiance is elegant, but feels somewhat arrogantly stiff. That said, I was a bit surprised by how long the whole experience took. While the meal itself was wonderful, the pace felt slower than I anticipated, and it did stretch out longer than expected. Maybe something went wrong in the kitchen? If you're after a fine dining experience where every detail is taken care of, this place is definitely worth it. But just be prepared for a longer, more drawn-out meal.

Now I can just review the vegetarian tasting menu and not the options available but as I read other reviews as well it is very clear that it is the same case with all their courses.. Expensive ingredients were not pairing well with the rest of the dish and because of that the whole dish tasted mediocre.. For Example white asparagus imported from france was completely bland was not going well with sauce.. We went with non alcoholic pairings and it was the same case with drinks as well nothing special.. Service is top notch and I would say only and only service deserves 3 stars..

When Memories Collide with Modern Business Practices This review comes from a place of deep personal history with Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. Twenty years ago, this establishment was more than just a restaurant to me - it was a cornerstone of my London dining experience. My connection ran so deep that I chose to celebrate my first wedding reception at Ramsay's Claridge's, where Gordon himself presented us with a signed chef's shirt, a gesture that exemplified the personal touch that once defined his brand. After two decades in Hong Kong, I planned a special return to London with my current partner. Restaurant Gordon Ramsay at Royal Hospital Road was to be the centerpiece of our visit - a chance to share a piece of my past and to revisit a place that had meant so much to me. The anticipation of returning to this three-Michelin-starred establishment after 20 years was immense. However, what transpired next revealed how dramatically the restaurant's priorities have shifted. Three days before our reservation, we were both struck with severe influenza - the kind that confines you to bed. Being responsible diners, we contacted the restaurant well in advance to request a reservation change to later in our London stay, just a few days later. The response we received was shocking: while yes, they could accommodate us on another date, we would forfeit our £300 deposit AND need to pay an additional £300 to secure the new reservation. This rigid policy was enforced without any consideration for our circumstances or my long-standing history with the establishment. This is not about the money. This is about the complete absence of human consideration, the lack of flexibility in extraordinary circumstances, and the transformation of what was once a beacon of hospitality into a cold, corporate operation. The restaurant's policy effectively punishes guests for falling ill, encouraging them to either lose their substantial deposit or, worse, consider dining while unwell. What saddens me most is how this experience has tarnished decades of cherished memories. In a single interaction, the restaurant managed to dismantle years of goodwill and personal connection. This is no longer the establishment I once knew and loved - it has become a business that prioritizes immediate profit over long-term relationships with its patrons. To those considering a visit: be aware that your booking comes with stringent terms that show no mercy for genuine emergencies. While the culinary expertise may remain, the soul of hospitality that once defined Gordon Ramsay's flagship seems to have dimmed considerably. This experience has fundamentally altered my perception not just of the restaurant, but of how time can change even our most treasured institutions. Sometimes, it seems, you really can't go home again.

What a disappointment this special evening was. In honour of my husband's birthday, we came to London specially. We booked a table for 6 and paid 900 euros as a deposit. We emailed the restaurant if we could come an hour later. No problem, email confirmation AND agenda invite. We got ready to go to the restaurant. An employee called us 3 times incessantly. What could be so urgent? We had to come to the restaurant immediately or they would give away our table. We indicated that there was a confirmation the time and that we would be there in half an hour. She went to consult. We were put on hold for a long time. Then she informed us that we had to come immediately and that there was no guarantee that our reserved table (with 900 euros deposit) would still be there. How rude. We rushed to the restaurant. Upon entering, we were welcomed arrogantly. And we were asked who had a birthday. The atmosphere in the restaurant is not good. The staff exchanged unfriendly glances among themselves and stood whispering to each other. Our coats were accepted and we were taken to the table. The tone was apparently set. No one made us feel welcome, with the exception of the Italian staff member. Food was served while one of our guests was briefly away from the table. Pleasant though was that there was and option for a vegetarian menu. Our guests wanted to surprise the birthday boy by asking the kitchen to put 2 candles in the dessert. This was declined. When the Italian staff member talked to us too friendly, he was abruptly whistled back by his colleague. Something clearly happened among themselves in the team. There is no good atmosphere. No English politeness. The ladies at the door, walking down the hall sighing and puffing. Hoping their shift will end soon. Giving each other looks of boredom. Too bad this was so incredibly detracting from the whole experience of fine dining. I asked in advance for smaller dishes to avoid food waste. However, I was given equally large portions as the other tablemates and had to leave some of each dish. After dessert, we wanted to pay and leave. A tip for the staff was not in the cards for us. The tip was already printed on the receipt. Very rude. A taxi was called. Our coats were put on the bench in the corridor and we found our way out ourselves. The taxi driver checked our address. He was surprised, the restaurant had promised him a £175 fare ride. While our fare was £25 at most. I had high expectations especially as we had also eaten at Gordon Ramsay’s other location a few years earlier. I can't describe this location as anything other than a tourist trap.

After countless 1 and 2 star restaurants, we have finally visited our first 3 star restaurant. We chose a classic in London. The menu was classic French, everything to the point, but without any major taste highlights. The service was excellent and, contrary to what you would expect in a 3 star restaurant, still warm/friendly/approachable. In total we paid €1,400 for two people, as in London the tip is already included with a 15% service charge. You can hardly do a wine pairing in London, as a pairing or wine is generally incredibly expensive in London. We looked at the wine list and almost fell out of our chairs! For a German Riesling that costs €40 to buy, I wouldn't pay €290 (the equivalent of that) with the best will in the world. Of course, imported goods are expensive since Brexit and of course you sit in a 3 star restaurant... Nevertheless, I don't pay over €550 for a pairing, nor do I pay just under €300 for a €40 bottle. That is disproportionate. All in all, it was a nice evening, but without any crazy highlights in terms of taste. However, I didn't expect anything great from a 3-star chef who has held his stars for decades and cooks classic French cuisine. It was a solid menu and a good introduction to the world of 3 stars. However, when I compare the restaurant with, for example, a 2-star restaurant like Tim Raue in Berlin, I wonder how exactly the criteria in the Michelin Guide differ between 2 and 3 stars. In terms of taste, Tim was an absolute bomb with lots of wow effects. Ramsay had perfect service, although in my opinion the menu was unspectacular. Conclusion: a classic visit to the 3 star restaurant.

We had a great time here. Great food and great service. Lost one star because the sommelier kind of gave us the cold shoulder for the evening when we didn’t get the wine pairing plus I left hungry and had to get takeaway after.

We were greeted at our table with a hand written card from the restaurant to my daughter who we were celebrating the publication of her manuscript. It’s these little details that make the restaurant Gordon Ramsey memorable and exceptional. The vegetarian menu option was bright and had the same calibre of taste and quality as the traditional menu. It was the perfect dining experience before Christmas.

Perhaps the greatest restaurant on earth. Staff are friendly and knowledgable unlike a lot of high-end restaurants they are very passionate about what they do and are excited to share their knowledge of everything. Me and my partner don't drink so they came up with the most amazing non-alcholic wine pairing for the meal. The food of course was the highlight, every dish was unique and some of the best sensory experiences. A true oral foodgasm

My partner and I booked a reservation at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay to be one of the highlights of our London vacation. We were super excited and decided to splurge on their most expensive “Carte Blanche” tasting menu. This turned out to be the most disappointing dining experience and subsequent customer service experience I have ever had in my life. The food itself was so average. There were 12ish courses and putting aside the desserts, I would only classify 2 of them as things I would want to voluntarily eat again. We are not picky eaters and we love all different types of cuisines. This food was just plainly underwhelming. We walked out feeling pretty sad that we just dropped 1k USD on something we really did not enjoy that much. Around midnight after eating at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in the early afternoon, we both experienced severe food poisoning that lasted for an intense 48 hours. We had 12 hours of non-stop vomiting, diarrhea, and fever/dizziness. The symptoms stuck around for days afterwards and gradually tailed off. Instead of exploring the city and enjoying our vacation, we were confined to our hotel room until it was time to fly home. Adding insult to injury, we reached out to the restaurant to inform them of what had happened, hoping they would investigate and ensure no other customers would suffer as we did. The restaurant initially said they couldn’t find record of our reservation and tried to bluff that we didn’t keep the receipt of the bill (which we did and sent them a photo of). After numerous back and forth emails including us sending a follow up email many days after we submitted all of our information, they ghosted us. Shockingly, they have still never followed up with us on the results of their testing/investigation. This demonstrates not only a complete lack of accountability but also a disregard for the safety and well-being of their customers. One of the questions they asked us was if we went to the hospital and tested samples of our stool. We did not do this and answered as such, giving them comfort that we have no legal recourse against them. This seems to have been enough comfort for them to ignore us. Hopefully this review can at least save a few readers from stepping into this disaster of a restaurant. It’s baffling how a restaurant with such a high profile and exorbitant prices could fail so catastrophically in the most fundamental aspect of dining: serving safe and tasty food.

UNPROFESSIONAL AND IGNORANT AT BEST, RACIST AT WORST My experience started before our dinner. In the reconfirmation email, they said that our need for a translated menu could be fulfilled. We never requested in the first place. Not only does it show poor management and lack of organisation; they were completely unaware of the fact that it comes across as racist. The maitre d who greeted us outside was really lovely. The entrance looked really pretty and the restaurant smelled really nice. Sadly, it only went downhill from there. The restaurant was extremely crowded, noisy. The layout doesn’t seem to make any sense. We had a table for two and the two of us were literally right next to one another and on the same side of the table. There was also what I can only assume to be the “premium table” where the chef would serve you, but this was the first thing you saw as you entered the restaurant (we thought it was the front desk). Despite the fact that the restaurant was very crowded; the service made things worse. Throughout the evening, waiters rushed the service and you in turn, felt rushed. The best way I can describe it is like going to a dim sum. Even later on in the evening when the restaurant was only half full, it still felt very uncomfortable. We believe that we were served by every waiter in the restaurant. As a result, there was no personal touch to it (different person every course). At times, it was annoying, as different waiters would ask the exact same question time and time again, such as “would you like more bread?”. We were also asked on at least five occasions where we are from, and we would reply London. This really should be the end of the conversation unless this is leading somewhere. But then the waiters (note: plural) would keep on pressing further (we’re of Asian descent). It almost feels as though the waiters had a bet in the back. This reinforced the “racist” sentiment even though there was no act of racism. It wasn’t “offensive” but it was “uncomfortable”. Waiters cleaned for bread crumb throughout the evening when we stopped having bread after the second course. It felt uncoordinated. It’s not necessarily that the service was bad, but it was extremely poor management. We had the seasonal menu. But again, I can find no other word to describe other than “underwhelming”. To me, the menu didn’t make much sense and the dining experience felt very tiring. In my opinion, many two-star restaurants have better dishes than RGR. There was no wow-factor that I expect from a three-star restaurant. It was good, but I can honestly say that there was no dish that impressed me. I know that I’ve ranted on about service for a long time. The fact is, there is just not much to say about the food. Service matters as much as the quality of the food, and the service did not make up for the blandness of the food. While it was not a horrible experience, I struggle to justify why it received three stars from Michelin, and why I had to book three months in advance for a table. And I think you are better off going to other three-starred restaurants (even two tbh). Disappointed given my expectations. In fact, I’d go as far as saying I never had a good dining experience at a restaurant with Gordon Ramsay’s name. It’s just not a brand I trust. (Visited in Dec 2019)

Never in my life! My friend suggested we try Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant. It’s not something I would usually do as it’s not really my scene, but I was absolutely blown away. The food, oh my goodness, the food was absolutely incredible! A 9-course menu, and yes, the portions are small, but with so many courses, it ends up being a lot of food. The dishes were outstanding. My favorites were the cappuccino soup to start, the salad (the best I’ve ever eaten in my life, I wish I could recreate it at home), the cheese bites, the langoustine ravioli, and the dessert, wow, wow, wow! The only course I didn’t love was the fish, which I found a bit bland. The service was next level. The crockery and cutlery is also absolutely beautiful. Having worked in restaurants in my youth, I can say the service here was on a completely different scale. Absolutely flawless, well done to the team! The atmosphere, however, felt a bit stuffy. It seemed like people were too focused on sitting upright and maintaining appearances rather than fully enjoying themselves. It’s a shame because it slightly took away from such a lovely experience. Overall, it was an amazing experience and absolutely worth the investment.

A warning: prices on the menus don't include VAT. Add the 15% service charge and the true price is 35% above the sticker price. If you're rich and don't care, more power to you. If you're saving up for this experience, keep this in mind. I love fine dining, so what better way to experience this than Restaurant Gordon Ramsay that has only had two years without its three Michelin stars. The short version is if you want to experience three Michelin stars and need to choose, go to The Fat Duck which is unique. Restaurant Gordon Ramsay is very good. Very, VERY good. But, and there is a big but, when you've been at the top of your game for this long, an incredible feat, no doubt, it does seem a bit formulaic. The service was wonderful, especially the lovely Italian girl whose name I cannot remember [sorry, if you're reading this! It was a month ago and I have internet memory. :_( ]. The atmosphere...well, I like a little bit more hustle and bustle. You could have heard a pin drop in there so when my friend and I were talking, we really kept our voices down. There was a birthday party opposite us of what looked like people in their early twenties (wow, I would never have been able to go here in my twenties!) who hardly made any noise. ¡Qué celebración! :-/ We went for the Carte Blanche menu where you leave it up to the chef for an additional price. Not sure if that was worth it, but overall the food was exemplary and cannot be faulted. The dishes are below. I would advise those serving the dishes to slow down when they're explaining them. I understand they have probably explained a dish a few thousand times, but this is our first time and sometimes I didn't catch what they said. I even had to ask them to repeat what they said a few times. Anyway, this is my best attempt translating what they said :-) : - Tomato Ashley with butter - Colchester oyster caused with oyster tempura side - Bread with nigella seasoned rosemary and lightly salted butter - Isle of Skye scallops - classic Ramsay. Loved it. - Brille with scallop mousse - unbelievable taste sensations. - Venison with side of shoulder of venison bun - cooked perfectly. - British treacle tart and Italian cheese gratin with honey - Fois Grais grape sorbet - Take on an After Eight, spearmint ice cream and dark chocolate - has to be one of the best desserts I have ever had. I love After Eights. - Salted caramel chocolate, strawberry and raspberry jelly, soufflé - to finish us off. :-) Definitely worth an experience. Loses a star because it's over priced IMO. The distance between the price vs quality here and a one Michelin like Restaurant St. Barts is over double which is what the price point is. I think, actually, I prefer the one and two Michelins as they are not only better value, but they're working to get their next star. Would I return? No. That was definitely a one and done. Unless someone else is paying. I have another 45 Michelin restaurants to visit in London and will be doing the one and two Michelin starred restaurants first.

Been on the list for a while. The grande dame of London Michelin 3 star establishments. First off, the dining room is a bit strange... it's much smaller than I thought and difficult to describe the layout and atmosphere. The sommelier and food were both excellent though. Really enjoyed every course and the service was pitched just right.. not too fussy or rushed. We spent a long time here and as always went for the additional options and the pairing for good measure with a side bottle of champagne to keep things going. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Food and service impeccable and got a hello from Matt abé and he signed my book too. Atmosphere not great but the food is everything here.

Our first experience at a Michelin 3-star restaurant, and it was truly unforgettable! We chose the Carte Blanche menu (with the addition of the truffle pasta), and it surpassed all our expectations. After so many years, it received three stars for the second time, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. The meal kits are delicious! Goat's milk butter is also a must-have main dish. The duck is cooked very well. But the overall meal was too salty. It felt saltier than Shandong cuisine in China. I drank water until midnight and my voice was hoarse when I woke up in the morning. The snacks after the meal are very average and not special. There is no special feeling of Samsung at all. The first time I came to this restaurant a few years ago, I thought it was average. After many years, it turned out to be average.

Many excellent reviews on here - hard to fault the dining experience :) it’s delightful food in a very intimate dining room where you are very well looked after. We opted for the carte Blanche menu and had some excellent starters including a lovely scallop course as well as an oyster course. The Parker House Roll was delicious (I am partial to the bread)… as were the main fish and meat courses … the cheese course was included and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it (usually not a cheese course person). The dessert was the “after 8” mint and chocolate combo- which even for someone who is not an after 8 enthusiast was quite delicious … something about the creaminess of the mint cake! We did not opt for the pairing but left it to the sommerlier who picked out 3-4 glasses for us, which was an excellent pairing experience and good value. Overall, a great experience, which more than meets the high expectations… except perhaps if you want their famous tarte tatin to be added as an extra, there was a certain inflexibility (the a la carte menu wasn’t being offered)… guess will have to be back for that one!

I’ve dined at many fine dining establishments, and this is about my 8th time dining at the restaurant Gordon Ramsay but sadly, I felt the quality at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay has noticeably declined. As usual, I informed the restaurant well in advance that I am a pescatarian and do not consume meat. In the past, I’ve been offered suitable alternatives, such as fish or lobster. However, this time I was only given a vegetarian option on their vegetarian menu: spelt risotto. It was just a plate of risotto with no additional components, and to make matters worse, it was so heavily oversalted that both my guest and I found it nearly inedible. I left half of it on the plate, yet surprisingly, the server didn’t bother asking for feedback, despite inquiring about every other dish that was finished. At the end of the meal, I raised the issue and asked why no pescatarian options were offered other than the vegetarian dish. The response I received was, “The only fish we have is pre-prepared turbot with sausages, so if you’re pescatarian, you should have requested that in advance.” When I clarified that I had informed the restaurant well beforehand, the server replied, “Yes, so we gave you the vegetarian option.next time you should email us and specify that you want a fish for your main course.” Honestly what sort of response was that.. Frankly, this was not only dismissive but also unacceptable. I had clearly notified the restaurant multiple times about my dietary preference, yet there was no proper substitute for the meat-based courses — no fish, no lobster, no prawns, nothing. For a restaurant of this caliber, especially one with three Michelin stars, this lack of accommodation was deeply disappointing and well below the standard I expected. To make matters worse, I overheard a neighboring table mention that their favorite dish of the night was the grape sorbet — a dessert. It’s disheartening to think that out of seven courses, the highlight of their evening at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay was a simple sorbet. This only underscores the overall lackluster experience, both in terms of culinary creativity and service. If you’re seeking a true fine dining experience, I would honestly recommend The Ledbury, which offers far superior food, creativity, and hospitality. This evening, I had brought a friend who flew in from overseas, eager to experience the highly regarded Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. Unfortunately, we both left feeling hungry, underwhelmed by an uninspired menu and inattentive service. For a restaurant with such a prestigious reputation, it simply did not meet expectations. Frankly, it was not worth it. If you’re still considering dining here, The prestige menu might provide slightly better value other than the ‘Surprise Menu’, but honestly, for the same price, I would strongly recommend The Ledbury or if you are happy to spend more, I do recommend The Fat Duck for a more luxurious experience. Both will offer far superior food and a much more memorable dining experience. Ps. Sommeliers there are nice though and very attentive. All the rest of waiters and Waitrose need more trainings. Honesty they are just a bit ‘meh’

The restaurant and the food were excellent, as expected for the price. The starters, main courses, and especially the TARTE TATIN!!! (Highly recommended to order) were fantastic. We had high expectations, and they were met in almost every way. The only downside was the service from the person in charge of the wine. We felt intimidated, as it seemed like he didn’t want to serve us and wasn’t hospitable at all. This attitude was present from the moment we arrived until we left. We chose not to do the wine pairing, and when we selected what to drink, he neither made any recommendations nor gave his opinion on our choices. The rest of the staff was very friendly and did an excellent job. They treated us wonderfully, even though we were the last customers to leave.

The two other times I've been to this restaurant, have both been fine, and it's much easier if you're not gluten free... this is why I give it 2 stars and not 1 for food. However today I went for lunch and after asking three times if the dish I asked for was gluten free (yes 3 times in total), the waitress comes back after I take the first bite to tell me that there's flour in it. I am coeliac, so this is absolutely not ok. I then couldn't eat at the same time as the person I was meeting for lunch, and had to order a different dish from the menu. There were no sincere apologies coming from the staff and was charged service charge.... do not recommend for coeliacs and the staff was far from polite and considerate with what happened.
