Love this place - one of the best Italian restaurants in London. Authentic Italian cuisine, excellent service, great wine list... not a huge menu, but more than enough choice and variation. Staff and owners are always so attentive and friendly.

I went to Ottoemezzo with my friends who came to visit London from USA and Sweden and our experience were wonderful. The staff are all excellent. /we had steak, pasta and chicken and the food was delicious. We were picky to find a nice restaurant then decided to try this one and very happy with the service. For sure we will go back again . After Lunch my friend had coffee espresso he had to ask the manager where the coffee brand was from cause he like the quality of the coffee taste. Great experience.

Nice local cafe with some really nice wall art form vintage French and Italian films. I recommend !

What a great find a genuine Italian restaurant with real Italian hospitality and fantastic cuisine. Either for a quiet Business meal where people want to relax or perfect for couples it is in an interesting space.

I came (to the cafe) for the pizza, and could have stayed all day for the vibe. Very relaxed, quiet, friendly ... perfect place to enjoy perfect pizza crust and very good food across the menu.

The owner/manager as well as the main waiter are very professional- solicitous without being intrusive and friendly without being familiar. The restaurant is quirky in that it is divided into small rooms which keeps the noise down and has a charming atmosphere. The food is excellent if slightly on the expensive side and the markup on the wine is high but perhaps that’s what they need to charge these days for a restaurant in an expensive area of London. All in all, a very pleasant and satisfactory experience. Will definitely go again.

I took my wife here for her birthday just recently and the food and service was phenomenal. Everything we ordered was delicious. I had the Jerusalem artichokes with truffle and Parmesan crisps as a starter and I highly recommend. For a main I had linguine with Devon crab. My wife had a blue fin tuna as a starter and seafood pasta with black squid ink. Both amazing. The service from the warm and friendly Italian gentleman who waited our table I can’t appreciate enough. When he brought dessert he also brought a little portable record player to the table with Happy Birthday playing as he knew it was my wife’s birthday. Thank-you! Love the decor inside. Great place for a date.

Great location for this quirky Italian restaurant, inspired by old Italian movies. The food we ordered was excellent. The portions of the appetisers were small compared to the main pasta dish but that’s to be expected for in any Italian restaurant. Service was quick and really helpful. The waiter provided us suggestions from the Monday menu and what we ordered was indeed delicious. The Jerusalem artichoke and the beef carpaccio were delicious. The paccheri with ragù were delicious and abundant. They serve you freshly baked focaccia and Italian olive oil as soon as you seat. The dessert were also proposed as traditional Italian desserts but with a twist. Highly recommended if you are looking for a quality restaurant off the high street.

Well, I can't say it was bad because it is clearly a quality restaurant in a premium location in London Kensington. The reason for 3 stars only is the quantity of food you get for the price. Of course food was good and you could feel the quality, however it was clearly too few of it and we were hungry after we finished. Atmosphere is very good and service was lovely.

Love this place. Superb food. Quirky and individualistic. Has a great vibe to it. London has so many good restaurants that we can try a different place each time we visit, however we will make a point of returning here because we like everything about it.

We booked online and arrived 20 minutes early and the waitress said we were 2 hours late and was a little rude. I showed her my online booking but no apology. We we’re given a table outside and not offered an inside table. Food was ok, nothing special. They had run of lasagne, forgot our cutlery and didn’t offer any cheese with my pasta. Overall we felt like we were a inconvenience.

The service was warm and friendly but the starter sea bream ceviche was slightly tasteless and the linguine was a little bit cold. Seafood squid ink pasta was also room temperature. Great tiramisu. Overpriced for what it is.

Fenomenal pizza and horrible aubergine parmigiana 😭 I think I was very unfortunate with my dish, was too fatty and aubergine was tasteless. I ate the same dish in flat iron across the road and was amazing, so really expected better from Italian restaurant (honestly stale place is not place for this type of the dish so comparison bar was very low). The pizza was delicious and truly best crust in the area. Low rating due to ‘hit and miss’ menu, if not pizza I would give 1 star.

The staff was extremely rude. We waited for 5 mins without anyone from the staff approaching us. Then we asked for a table and they were rude and eager to get us out of there. Asked us to wait for half an hour and would only serve us pizza. We just left.

Lovely Italian in the heart of Kensington. Everyone enjoyed their food however, the only gluten free pasta was penne. I want more pasta choices as a coeliac especially as there are so many gluten free pasta types out there! . Also still not sure why I was told it would take half an hour to boil water for the gluten free pasta. I was starving so ended up ordering chicken and chips - not the most ideal when street dining in such a lovely spot in a well established Italian. Will visit again as the area and service was great.

This is my best restaurant, after 17 years I still enjoy the food, run by two brothers who will do absolutely everything to make their food special, no need to go to Italy to eat traditional italian food. Most importantly to superb food is the extremely friendly staff. Well done Franco and Emilio for such a great hard work, you have created absolutely the best restaurant in Kensington, sorry in London.

A one of a kind experience in London - Locarno Ottoemezzo makes our hearts full. Nestled into the beautiful streets of Kensington, this little Italian gem will leave you full of great food, wine, and memories. The staff here are beyond exquisite, making a perfect “at-home” atmosphere every time. So we arranged a family lunch at the Cafe Locanda Ottomezzo (next door to the Restaurant). It was a special occasion which I did not want to ruin by complaining at the time but I cannot ignore such poor cooking. To be positive the place looks nice and the alfresco table on the quiet street was perfect in the sun. The wine list was just what I expected and the Rosso di Montalcino was smooth and delicious (£62). The two female staff were cheery but the male staff member looked out of his depth. We were brought some pizza slices as an aperitivo after we ordered which was a nice touch. We had to remind the staff to put condiments on the table & then also cutlery after the food arrived. Now to the food - I had the mussels and they were the worst I have ever had anywhere. They clearly had been cooked well in advance and then chilled and then a poor attempt had been made to warm them up - so I got rubbery overcooked lukewarm mussels in a bowl which at the edges was cold ie some mussels were chilled. Appalling not to be freshly cooked! Then the ravioli with beetroot and goats cheese was undercooked so the corners of the ravioli parcels were chewy and the overall dish was far too sweet as there was barely any goats cheese salty tang to balance it out. The pizza was pronounced as adequate but half of it was left on the plate and the aubergine parmiggiana was judged average. My main course was forgotten about and I had to ask about it. It arrived when the others were nearly finished with an apology from the waitress and also with a complimentary plate of calamari which was nice - unfortunately my main was the aforementioned ghastly undercooked bland ravioli. So good points were location and ambience, the wine was excellent and the wine list looked good, the female staff were very nice. Bad points were inefficient service and some very poor (and lazy) cooking. I cant believe this is the normal standard of cuisine as the business would struggle to survive.

Wonderful experience. Owning a house and spending a lot of time in Italy, I rarely go to Italian restaurants outside of Italy, unless it’s for pizza. However, Emidio greeted us warmly and enthusiastically and the evening continued on that note. Wonderful dishes that were well prepared and delicious and authentic. Fresh spring ingredients such as asparagus and stuffed zucchini flowers exemplified the meals and the decor is fun and festive. Great experience in London

This is my favourite Italian restaurant in London. The food is delicious and wine excellent. The restaurant is in a series of small, charming rooms, in a quiet road in Kensington. Francesco looks after his guests with great attention. All the staff are friendly and helpful. It feels very much a family affair. The menu specials change to adapt to the current season. I recommend very highly.

I'm a regular and have been twice in the last two months. The staff are always incredible. My favourite starter - artichoke puree with crispy parsnips and parmesan was as divine as ever. My rage was perfect. And I had envy looking at the risotto dish I'd ever seen there before where it is served out of a whole parmesan cheese and more cheese scraped out as i tis served at the table. Definitely ordering that next time. The restaurant is named after the Fellini film and the staff are all die hard music lovers.

A great upmarket local Italian restaurant in the heart of Kensington. A curiously shaped place that is bigger than you think from the outside. There is a great street watching, 6 seater table window and a sizeable room down stairs. Importantly the staff were excellent and the food brilliant. The wine menu prices are accommodating for all budgets. I had not been for a while and as good as I remember. The menu changes but there are house classics like mushroom risotto, served in a parmesan wedge with the surrounding cheese scrapped into the rice as it is moved around. Heaven. The Iberico pork, as expected had the texture of sirloin steak though the potatoes could have been freshers and the vegetables more abundant. A successful evening.

Went there this morning for a coffee. Young italian lad was very rude as I thanked him in Italian and were leaving, with him mocking my Italian and saying ‘Vadi Vadi’ (go, go). Rude and unprofessional

Have been going there for years and staff has changed etc and menu has added and subtracted items, but their perfect level of service and their 70s cool ambience is still the same. Decent food and there are plenty of Italian options around, but this one is often my first choice given their service and reliable offer

Authentic Italian food, somewhat expensive but worth the detour! The restaurant has its own cachet, composed of small rooms over 2 floors and uniquely decorated. The menu is short, which is always reassuring and shows freshness, and mostly composed of the daily specials. My girlfriend and I started by sharing a plate of pasta and beef carpaccio with black truffle followed by veal ossobuco and porc chops. The sides were the same for both main dishes and very tasty (the potato millefeuille was "wow"). Throughout all these dishes you could really taste the true flavor of the ingredients with the right amount of seasoning to flame things up. We finished with a tasty Tiramisu and accompanied the entire dinner with a lovely Italian wine. Probably one of the restaurants I am most looking forward to go back in London. One star less on the food because the porc chop was slightly raw on the bone side. Overall the price felt a bit above what was expected but it remains a very enjoyable dinner.

Our waiter AJ was very friendly and had a great sense of humour! We were a group of 9 & couldn't fault his level of service or attentiveness. The restaurant itself is a gem and I'd recommend taking some time to admire all the quirky little arts which have been placed all around (incl. facilities). Great atmosphere. The food! Everything we've ordered were done to perfection, I'd probably say all but the steak - although it's an English Olive fed Wagyu so it was still top marks!

The food is simple and good, what more can one ask for? The setting is not very pleasant : cramped in the restaurant, a bit gloomy at he café. Staff at the café not very friendly. Prices are not cheap but still affordable, given the area. Overall a rather pleasant experience however.

Visited this local restaurant as it was very close to our Air BnB. We only had takeaway but the restaurant was full, lively and authentic Italian. Highly recommend the cheese ravioli and burata salad. Neighbourhood is quiet and full of lovely town homes. Service friendly and efficient.

One of my favourite places. I usually come here to have an Americano. It has these seats outsides in a quite alley which makes it perfect to enjoy your coffee, drink or food. Today I had this dish chicken milnase style which comes with fries or spegattei. I went with Spegattei. Amqzing! I had this bloody marry a vodca based coctail with it. Finally, it has a lovely atmosphere, staff are nice. There is also this guy there that seems to be a manager or owner with authentic italian accent, very nice fella. Strongly recommended

Delicious food and amazing service!

The food is excellent; the ambience splendid, the price is very reasonable - but best of all are the people who manage and work there...have eaten all over Europe, North America and Latin America - have never found a place better than this.

I enjoy the restaurant since everything on the menu is very tasty especially the tiramisu is exactly like the best ones we had in Italy. But the cafe unfortunately very stressful.Once we got yelled at by the waitor before sit down on a table. We left immedaitely of course. To summarize, during daytime it's very stressful and unwelcoming place, but during dinner time, it's fine.

My new favourite in the neighbourhood. Will be sure to go back!

Cute little place of the beaten track . Great starter of beef carpaccio with black Truffel. Beef sliced thin and fresh fragrant Truffel. Delicious Main was sadly served cold and asked for it to be reheated. tiramisu more cream than anything else. I would return for the beef carpaccio

A beautiful, outstanding, delicious place to eat. Ran by people who are true with what is available and understand ll you need to know to ensure each visit is unique and fulfilling. The food is varied and all on offer has a miraculous taste. Drinks are plentiful whatever you choose and the service in no way can be faltered. This is a restaurant I look forward to coming back to many more times, indefinitely!

We love Locanda Ottoemezzo. Great, authentic Italian food with friendly and local atmosphere. Upstairs cafe is nice for a casual lunch, downstairs restaurant is nice for a great dinner. Overall as locals we love coming here for a coffee, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Risotto served in a rind is so unique - a must-try! Plus I love the eggs. Plus I love the pasta. Plus my kids love the pizza...... I could go on!
