The Caddy Shack Bar And Restaurant in Highland

Had a really nice experiance with my partner as we were going past here, it's a golf club house that the public can attend and we were both completely taken aback by the level of hospitality and the quality of food we were served. We both had the haggis spring rolls which are well documented online as venue must have, I had the shepards pie (photo not accurate as I tucked in as I was overthrown by hunger when it was placed before me so it's got a few bites taken from it!) the pie was the best I've had, Almost pulled lamb with minted veg, the chef must have a higher calling! My partner had the buttermilk chicken burger, all fresh ingredients and the chips were beyond top tier! We will be returning in a few short months. The place needs a tourer/camp site attached as its such a hidden gem of fort William! R&K

Loved it!!! Very interesting menu. The Shepard's Pie was divine being made with lamb shank and creamy/cheesy mashed potatoes. The Cajun Spice Shrimp tostada was creative and delicious. Thumbs up from a Californian and Arizonan. The sweet potato gnocchi with pesto also a winner. The wait staff was fun and informative. Wished we had another night to go back to try the haggis spring rolls.

We were having trouble finding a Fort William restaurant on a Sunday night that we would not have to wait until 9 pm. Caddy Shack came up and it was nearby. So grateful it popped up. The food was delicious, creative and thoughtful. The new Cajun shrimp tostada was perfection as was the sweet potato gnocchi with pesto. The shepard's pie was perhaps the best I have ever had. Made with lamb shank that melted in your mouth and creamy, cheesy mashed potato it met every expectation. The service personnel were welcoming and great fun. Wish we were here another night so we could eat there again.

Found this place by chance. Cajun shrimp tostada was excellent (and this from a Californian who has eaten her weight in tostadas!). Shepherd’s Pie was the best we’ve ever had. Service was delightful!

We enjoyed our meal at the Caddy Shack. Our waitress was especially kind and helpful. The food was good. We especially liked the soup. We had the soup and sandwich meal. Mine was a tuna melt and my husband had the BLT.

Was empty. Stake burger was probably defrosted and cooked to much. Does not look or taste as meat hamburger, reminds me more the loaf meat in the army. The soup was good. Luckily they had good beer Big disappointment for me. Not sure how they got 4.7 score. The high score goes only to the distance from our B&B. You may think on a way to improve our experience here. We stay two more nights here 🙏

Some of THE best food in fort william. I have been a few times now and each time I have been met with consistency in both the service and the food. Great food and even better prices.

The appearance of this restaurant belies the quality of the food. We were an adult party of 6. Between us we had several different starters, mains and desserts. All were good and polished off. Good food with imagination. Surroundings a bit soul-less and not much atmosphere but we had good company and the service was friendly and efficient so a good evening was enjoyed by all.

Even if you're not a golfer, this place is run by the most amazing staff. Fancy some genuine craik and some very nice beer on tap. (I recommend the mango IPA). Don't miss this on your way in 🫶

We could not find any places to eat in town, so we decided to eat at this place. Really good food for reasonable prices (we had steak and burger). Don’t let yourself fool by the shabby look and the low number of people sitting inside! The staff is extra nice and was a highlite of our dinner.

Been travelling for a few hours heading to Glenfinnan Viaduct, looking for a place to eat. Lovely personnel, our large breed dog was more than welcome inside which was amazing! Food was delicious (roast beef for the boys, soup of the day and sandwiches for the ladies) and at good price! Don’t let the outside appearance fool you, it’s a great place for a quick stop to eat something good and continue your journey with a full belly :)

Don't judge a book by its cover- this little diner was absolutely fantastic with excellent food and great service! The chips are top notch, the side salads are far better than average, and we enjoyed our entrees as well. Definitely worth stopping if you're looking for a quick, excellent meal.

Aber auch nur in Ordnung. Mein trockener Burger bestand aus einem Burgerbrötchen und einem frittiertem Hähnchenstück - ohne anständige Burgersauce, ohne Zwiebeln oder sonst irgendetwas, nur trockenes Brötchen und Hähnchen. Käse etc. muss man gegen Aufpreis dazu bestellen. Homemade Essen - scheinbar Fehlanzeige. Auch das Ambiente des Restaurants ist nicht gerade einladend. Schade, ich hatte mir nach den ganzen positiven Bewertungen mehr erhofft.

Stopped by here on the way to a wedding - got the shepherd’s pie (twice) and a dessert - absolutely best food we’d had in Scotland. The service was the best, they went above and beyond. Not to mention the people were lovely. Can’t recommend high enough. Don’t drive past this place without stopping in.

The small number of reviews, ordinary spartan furnishings, and very few customers when walking in for dinner had us worried. However the friendly, attentive staff and great food easily made up for the surroundings. Definitely recommend.

We can't say enough good words about this place. Leanne our waitress was beyond wonderful and educated us on Scotland and all the special things here. The food was beyond excellent and prices were definitely not offensive in any way. We are so glad we stopped here on our travels.

This is a great place to visit to avoid all the busy Fort William crowds. Great service, midges weren't too bad when we visited and the food was fine. Maybe invest in some planting to obscure the road and the works yard a bit.

Part of the Golf Club, the Caddy Shack is just outside Fort William along the A82. We were on our way back to our BnB (Treetops - the perfect stay!) after a day’s walking around Creag Meagaidh and decided to stop at The Caddy Shack as it was on the way home. What a find - we were made very welcome by the friendly staff. The service was great and the special of the day was the perfect meal after a hot day of walking. Very highly recommended.

This was the first time we have tried the caddy shack, just fabulous!! From Lauren on front of house to the very very tasty food! Very enjoyable! The restaurant is light áñd airy, lovely deck outside. The menu is small but what they do they do well! We run a b and b and we will def be recommending this little gem to our guests. Keep it coming guys! You are doing a great job!!!!

We had a beyond an a normal Burger both was really good. But the Sticky Toffy Pudding was just delicious! Service was rally nice - I was not shure about what beer to take - so I got a tasting! Absolutely wonderful!

The food was amazing here. We had the salmon with pea risotto, chicken breast on corn and chorizo succotash and red pepper coulis and finished with sticky toffee pudding. We expected decent food based on the menu description but we're extremely impressed with the quality of food presented to us. The service was very good as well. Definitely recommend this place.

We were making an overnight stop north of Fort William and did not want to go into the town after a very long drive. The Caddy Shack as a short distance away so we decided to try it. As its name suggests, it is the golf club's restaurant with a utilitarian design. Don't let that deter you; the service and food were really very good. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and meal.

Stopped for lunch on our way out of Fort William. Was easy to find with lots of parking. Thought I was in the wrong spot at first, seated right away. Have to say the waitress was kind and friendly but the steak burger I had was comparable to a hockey puck. My fiance had a chicken burger that wasn't bad. In a pinch it works though!

This restaurant is fantastic. The staff was lovely, and the food was terrific. Small menu, but it has vegan, gluten-free, and other delicious traditional options.

The meal was absolutely delicious! The menu is just big enough and so are the portions. I had a ribeye steak and it was cooked to perfection. Very good service and the staff was attentive. The only thing that faults is the interior, which is a bit dated, but I am sure that is something they are working on, considering it's still a very new restaurant. Also the pricing is very good. Around £30 pounds pp for a 2 course meal with wine and a drink. Will definitely come back!

After a long journey we got recommended here by our host. Although the atmosphere inside wouldn't bring up the idea to eat here first, the food was very delicious, tasty and portion size matched perfectly our hungry level. The hand cut fries were so crispy, I've never had that experience before! Service was friendly and they payed good attention if everything was alright. The room itself looks rather cold, but it's a Golf Club House, so here people meet after some holes and have a pint together, therefore they can be lucky to have such a great kitchen!

If ur in Fort William and you don’t dine here at least once, yer missing a treat! Admittedly it doesn’t have kerb appeal, it’s a golf club run by a husband and wife, a lovely dynamic duo and the food is quiet perfection. We shared haggis spring rolls with a caramelised shallot sauce, oh my 2 massive spring rolls shared by 3 of us but the pickled turnip side was boom, a zingy taste delight. I opted for the special venison burger topped with black pudding, caramelised onions served on a brioche bun, with real chips, outstanding. Current husband opted for hake goujons, white meaty flesh cooked to perfection. The mamma opted for shepherds pie n this was the winner, chunks of delicious braised lamb in an ashet dish topped with smooth creamy mash. I opted for large glass of sav blanc in lieu of dessert the other grubbers made room for Eton Mess. So if ye managed to reach the end of this review, well done for yer perseverance. This is worth it and brucie bonus it’s dog friendly with water dishes n dog biscuits for the fur balls. All in all its a winner!

I almost missed this place from the roadside as I didn't realise it was a restaurant. Luckily for me and my wife we didn't and found this place. Walking through the doors I thought it was a golf clubhouse [which it kinda also is] but what it is in fact, is a superb restaurant. Food was on par with some of the best places i have ever been too. Gnocchi was on par with stuff I have eaten in Napoli! Really great food and definitely not to be missed. Gets my strong thumbs up.

My husband and I were just looking to pass the time with a nice pint , and we ended up returning not 2 hours later for more drinks and a sunday roast. The owners (waitress and chef) Leanne and Scott are very knowledgeable, helpful, and welcoming. My husband and I are living here from Canada and have found our new spot! The drinks were great and theres a bunch of local brands, and the food was soooo good. We left completely full not leaving anything left on any plates. Prices are very reasonable, and we were happy with everything! 10/10 recommend.

Ich war zunächst skeptisch wegen der guten Bewertungen. Jedoch entschlossen wir uns, es einfach zu versuchen. Und siehe da, eines der besten Gerichte, welches wir in 2Wochen Schottland hier essen durften. Das Ambiente mag sehr einfach und im ersten Moment nicht sehr anmächelich sein, jedoch ist das Essen 1a. Würde ich ohne zögern sofert wieder empfehlen. Und sie haben zudem super lokales IPA!! Nur fragen, sie kennen sich damit aus ;-)

Up-and-coming venue in my favourite town in Scotland. The Caddy Shack offers it all - a wide variety of brilliant food and more importantly, beverages to satisfy your palate. I often pop in here for a bite and a dram after some days out on the hills and have always been welcomed by a warm reception of a hot stove and friendly and pleasant smile to be greeted to from Scott and Lianne. Will keep coming back here like a boomerang.
