The Button Factory in Birmingham

It's a fascinating and rather unique place just off the centre of the Jewellery Quarter with a ground floor level and a first floor level, and both with bars. Ground floor has some external seating and the first floor has an awesome balcony at the front which is a serious summer joy. Great views and connection with the streetscape. Well worth a visit.

had the revolting butter milk chicken which was a horrid brown and whilst chewing had a knuckle bone. all food came cold and somewhat tuff. when reported to the waitress she said she’d rather have the negative review than resolve with a refund. got charged full amount and the service charge. will never return and would not recommend to anyone, although most of the staff were friendly besides her.

The flavours of the lite bites were really complimentary. The staff are friendly here. We enjoyed the juicy Picpoul outside, moved on in later on.

A great go-to venue in the Jewellery Quarter with a fantastic range of drinks, delicious food and great service. I have been coming here for years now and would thoroughly recommend to anyone in the area. Dog friendly.

Estábamos de compras en el Barrio de la Joyería y tuvimos que esperar a que un anillo se redimensionara así que fuimos a la fábrica de botones a tomar unas copas, me cobraron 20 libras. 30 para un gin tonic y una pinta , Muy caro pensé y cuestioné la licitación del bar, para que me dijeran que el precio era correcto. Pedí otra pinta y el precio era de £ 6. 90 por lo tanto el gin tonic fue de £ 13. 40 que creo que estará de acuerdo es muy caro!

Nice place, decent enough selection of beers, good rooftop beer garden. Would have been 5* if the barmaid had told us there was 10 minutes left to order food when we enquired if the kitchen was open, before we took a menu away and chose our meals, only to return to order and be told the kitchen had closed 2 minutes ago.

Staff are amazing! So friendly made my daughters wedding reception special! Nothing too much trouble. Rooms are beautiful. Matt and his staff give 100% Its a real gem quirky atmospheric unique and they arrange it to suit your needs.

Its okay, depends on the day and if you get a space on the rooftop but in general the only downside is the staff and how unclean they leave the place for hours before they clean...but again some are better than others and if the day is good then it is worth a visit but it's overpriced in comparison to others.

I love how this place has different spaces to enjoy a drink. They have got cozy indoors, a beautiful terrace area to enjoy the sunshine and also a party area called the yard for Dj nights and other festivities. Such a great find and we would absolutely there again.

The bottomless brunch is amazing! They fill your glass before it’s empty and the food in the bottomless brunch menu is amazing. Portions are quite generous and even the two dishes are plenty! Would definitely recommend. The people serving us were lovely.

Pedimos una hamburguesa con queso, enjambre de cordero, limonada e hibisco y spritz de albaricoque. También se dio agua. La comida y las bebidas llegaron rápidamente y no esperamos mucho. Su compañero dijo que su hamburguesa de queso estaba bien, pero me pareció delicioso mi cordero Shwarma y el spritz. Mi compañero dijo que probablemente no regresaría, pero yo sí.

The lads on the bar were first class! I came up from Cardiff on my own to watch the Villa and was looking for a bit of food and a decent drink and they delivered more than that. Unfortunately I can't remember the guys names, but they were cooler than an Eskimo's lunchbox! Mixed my favorite cocktail for me (Gin Bramble) as it wasn't on the menu and got it pretty much spot on. I had 3 or 4 more. A guy at the bar next to me asked what it was, I gave him a sip, he ordered one, we ended up chatting and I've now got 3 mates in Brum 👊 This is the first bar I'll be coming to next time I'm in Brum!

Esta reseña me costó 70€ y el único sabor que me queda en la boca es la sal. Familia de 3 adultos eligió 3 cenas asadas, el pollo, cerdo y carne de res. Tenía grandes expectativas con las críticas anteriores, pero estaba terriblemente decepcionado. Las comidas no tenían sabor, todo lo que podías probar era sal. El servicio fue horrible, de principio a fin. Tengo una intolerancia alimentaria y me quedé inseguro y confundido con la información que me dieron 3 servidores diferentes. Seguramente el chef y el personal deben saber lo que están sirviendo a sus clientes.

La comida era preciosa, teníamos la pila de brunch, 2 hamburguesas y el pan plano de aguacate. El personal era muy amable y realmente disfrutamos de toda la experiencia.

Esta fue una experiencia encantadora. La comida era excelente y el servicio era excelente. Una mención especial a la camarera Bailey que era muy amable y lleno de consejos útiles.

Not the experience I hoped for, I ordered the shish of the week, well I've never been more disappointed, the flat bread lacked flavour, the shish of the week was pork, I know pork shoulder can be a bit fatty but cooked correctly the fat can enhance the flavour, but my meat was tough and grissly, also my side pickle consisted of the throw away pieces of gherkin, carrot and one piece of cabbage which were unpalatable, the best bit was the small side salad! Very dissapointing.

I don't know if the name is due to the fact that there used to be a button factory there, in any case it is one of the best breweries I visited while there. It has a lounge on the top floor with a terrace where all the smokers hang out.

Great little place. Only a five minute taxi ride to Birmingham City Centre if you want a quiet drink or food before a night out. We went for food before a night at the theatre. Fui al bar, pedí comida y bebidas y me pidieron que pagara. Cuando me senté, cuestioné el total y volví al bar para que me dijeran que había un cargo por servicio del 10 % tanto en la comida como en el alcohol. ME HABÍAN COBRADO UN CARGO POR SERVICIO ANTES DE CUALQUIER SERVICIO. Esto es totalmente incorrecto que no se le diga que hay un cargo por servicio antes de pagar y que se le cobre antes de cualquier servicio. El 10 % en alcohol también es una desgracia. Vergüenza como comida y alcohol era bueno.

We had our staff summer party at The Button Factory on Friday. Due to an error at our end the booking wasn't quite as it should have been. We were really impressed with how Ella sorted that our for us. The food was fantastic, the bar staff were amazing and the night was a huge success. Thank you, Button Factory, we'll be back!

recently attended a company event at a fantastic pub in the heart of Birmingham, and it was a brilliant experience from start to finish. The venue is spread over two floors, and we had the entire top floor to ourselves, complete with an amazing private roof terrace that offered great views and a perfect space to unwind. The atmosphere was vibrant, thanks to the live DJ who kept the energy up throughout the evening. The food was excellent, with a variety of options that catered to everyone's tastes. But the highlight of the night had to be the cocktails—absolutely delicious! If you're a fan of a little kick, I highly recommend trying the jalapeño and pineapple margarita; it’s a perfect blend of sweet, spicy, and tangy. Overall, it's an ideal spot for events or just a night out with friends. Great ambiance, fantastic drinks, and a rooftop terrace that’s hard to beat!

Good place to have fun, sometimes there is no service on first floor so you need to down stairs to order every time you want to eat or drink.

First and last time here. What a shame the management have got such a bad attitude, no wonder it was so quiet in a Saturday night. I suggest you treat customers as you would expect to be treated yourself if you expect to maintain any sort of customer base.

Didn't order food so can't comment. Was my first time- group meet up. But not happy having to go downstairs to buy drinks at the bar and then walk up some awkward steps. They had a bar upstairs but were not using and not helping getting drinks upstairs for customers. Atmosphere was brilliant. No option of Mocktails.

Great bar and really good atmosphere. Drinks are very reasonably priced also. They have a massive screen out back where they have been playing the euro 2024 games. Awsome venue.

Very nice venue with varied spaces, so you can find somewhere to suit. Good outdoor areas, best in the city. Drinks seems expensive and no bitter, so seems it's fizzy, weak lager for all!

Went to The Button Factory with friends for a Sunday lunch. Staff were very polite when we entered and seated us straight away. The waiter who brought over our drinks dropped the tray which had a pint of lemonade on it - this splashed over one of our party's jacket, hair and face. Mistakes happen and the waiter was very apologetic, replaced the drink and gave my friend some tissue to dry her jacket. In the main, the food was very nice, and the pork was delicious, however a couple of us found the gravy a little salty. Two of us had finished our meals and one person was still eating when one of the waiters started clearing plates - this is something that really frustrates me, plates shouldn't be cleared until everybody in the party is finished. When the bill arrived, the lemonade had been taken off but a service charge had been added to the bill, which I thought was a bit thoughtless considering earlier events. Overall, the food was nice but I wouldn't rush to return.

After a sales meeting nearby - booked the VIP euros dinner. Great atmosphere, great food. Even though England didn't win a great night was had by all. Only negative was wooden benches a bit uncomfortable.

I attended a second anniversary get together of the volunteers group. Excellent venue, atmospher, good food, attentive friendly service. Enjoyable evening. Highly recommende the venue for family/corporate functions.

I wasn't happy...I was given something extra that I didn't order and was still charged for it. I complained and no luck!! The meal was already included with fries and gave extra. I ended up paying £10 more than I should.

Gratuity is added to the bill before service. Ordered at the bar, waited an hour before seeing another person get served to ask for an update, after another 10 minutes a manager came to tell us "there is an issue with the tickets not being printed" and was told we would be served as soon as they could. Seemed off as no other tables had this issue and previous reviews mention staff not passing on orders to the kitchen. Decided to ask for a refund instead and was offered a free drink as compensation. Would agree with others that the music is too loud outside.

I'll start with a positive. They have wonderfully thick durable napkins, loved them. The starter of calamari was okay. The rest from there is downhill. The customer service was poor as you could see they were understaffed but the attitude of the waitress was far from desirable.we waited 25 minutes for our drinks orders to arrived after being reassured several time they were arriving even though we offered to collect from the bar ourselves. Both the food and the drinks are very overpriced especially as the steak and mac and cheese I ordered were some of the worst I have ever eaten. The bean suace/dressing was very bland and the steak was undercooked.When asked for garlic butter there were non available. When i offered my feedback to the waitress i was give a rude look. The atmosphere would have been bearable if the music was not too loud to relax. Maybe we had visited at the wrong time, but I definitely would not recommend for a nice relaxing sit down meal. Sadly I do think I will return again.

I think it is a bar that everyone who loves whiskey should see. It's pretty impressive that it offers so many options. A tasting is available for every whiskey you want to try. Each staff member was very experienced and kind. Thank you for this experience

I recently celebrated my birthday at The Button Factory, and it was a fantastic evening. The staff were incredibly friendly and made the experience memorable. The ambiance was delightful, setting the perfect mood for a special occasion.

We have just eaten Sunday lunch at the button Factory. The staff were good and so was the atmosphere. The food was very very very poor. SUNDAY LUNCH £16 plus £7.25 for Cauliflower Cheese? So the food sat on the pass from plating starting, to be removed to be given to us for over 9 mins. The plate was cold. The Yorkshire puddings were fridge cold. The meat was small and fatty although tender. The gravy had not been stirred and was weak with clumps of gravy granules visible, and is tasted salty. The veg had been sat so long it had started to wilt and again was cold. The extra portion of cauliflower cheese looked like it had been made a week ago and was so dry, it basically had about 3mm of sauce in the bottom. Any grandmother would have chocked at calling this cauliflower cheese! The plus was the dish it was served in was so hot, although this did help to dry the micron thick cheese sauce even more. We sent it back and it was replaced with no fuss. The front of house staff were great. We were told they had new staff in the kitchen? My advice, get rid. Unfortunately, this the worst Sunday lunch I have had in the last 10 - 15 years. The bill came with £1 charity donation. The only bit I didn't feel aggrieved by. Would have been better to to have £70 charity donation and £1 to the kitchen. We went to Tesco to buy something, as all still felt hungry. Eaten here before and really enjoyed it. Please change the kitchen staff who cooked our meal, or at least install a little amount of pride in what they send out? Not an experience I will repeat for food. Bar and waiting staff were great.

Great atmosphere, amazing food and service. Can not recommend this place enough. The staff are extremely helpful and are always there to recommend and assist. The food is presented well, cooked to perfection.
