Great breakfast here, went somewhere else the other day because they was closed and it didn’t even compare. The buttery is no1

We were staying close by and dropped onto TripAdvisor for ideas of where we could grab a breakfast, ahead of a busy day. The Buttery was perfect. Parked right outside and table available right inside. Service was prompt and the place was clean. It’s very obvious the owners are hardworking and keen to please. The breakfast itself was amazing. Hot, tasty and plentiful, providing excellent value for money. In a time when customer service and value is almost non-existent in the UK, this place is a rare Diamond! Thank you.

Spotlessly clean little cafe serving a great tasting and ample breakfast at a very reasonable price washed down with a mug of tea. Friendly and quick service, they seem to do lots of takeaway service as well.

We were staying at Mackworth near Derby when we found this lovely little cafe for breakfast we had breakfast there for five days it is run by a lovely couple Georgina and Matthew who serve very good food and nothing is too much trouble for them. The only drawback it is a bit small only 12 covers but if full it is well worth waiting for a seat. It is very popular with the locals workman and students as they also do a very good takeaway service. Thank you to you both from Pat and Tony Lavender from Hastings

Great food which is popular with many locals of the area. I go here for a take-away bacon cob. It's cooked to your own individual requirements which is always fantastic. When I am waiting for the food to be cooked, the food that is being served to their sit-in customers looks great. Highly recommended!

Nipped in on work lunch break to grab a quick sandwich. Two staff in shop, one sat at a table eating her sandwich for dinner, the other one is serving. Two ladies in front of me. I stood waiting for 10 minutes. The other ladies were served, had their food. The staff then stood talking to the two women, knowing I was stood there waiting. In the end I walked out. People only have a short time for lunch, they do not have time to wait whilstbyou finish your own lunch and conversations. This is not the first time I've had bad service there. Shall not be going again

The food is great and the staff are class, although the owner doesn't like 'effin and jeffin' so be warned.

Whilst having a new tyre fitted at John Copper garage just around the corner I nipped around to The Buttery on Ashbourne Road for a cup of tea. Great little cafe. Warm, quick service and all done with a smile.

Lovely little shop. Nice coffee. Friendly staff. Not in the centre of town at all - we called in whilst waiting for a new tyre just around the corner on recommendation of the garage. Glad we did. Would return.

The Buttery offers quite a small menu choice (eat in/take away) but what good value. Breakfast, sandwiches, baguettes, toasties, paninis, jacket potatoes and hot/cold drinks. Cafe is well decorated and clean and well worth a visit.

We arrived at 21:30 on a saturday. The place was empty we were the only ones there so that was good I guess as it took roughly 30/40mins to receive our mains can imagine how long the serving takes when the place is full. The food was bad. Medium rare steaks had spots ranging from well done to rare. The stilton sauce was nice. The carbonara was inedible and was abandoned. The loaded dirty fries had no flavour. Well overall disappointing first and last visit. Avoid

The best bar for live sports in Derby. Two massive screens, loads of TVs, and if you can get a booth you can choose which channel to watch. The food is decent, and for 40p per wing on Wednesday, it's a good place to watch champions league games. Draft beer selection is decent enough, with neck oil and brewdog wingman available for those beer drinkers wanting to have some other than lager.
