Terrible service . We waited nearly an hour for food to then be told certain items they had ran out ! The food was rubbish when it finally arrived .

The manager thinks because my son and his friend started their motor bikes in the car to leave after spending money in the pub , she can blackmail him in to leaving 5 good reviews about her pub online and wants him to write a letter of apology How's about this ya pubs overpriced and needs a good clean love and u should treat your staff better because you are abusing your powers as management and I will take this higher if needs be because your not bullying My son like you do your staff !! And as for them waking up your child if you was that bothered you wouldn't live above a pub , and as for your parking fine your also blackmailing him with I will see you in court first as their are no signs to say you have to enter your reg or promoting from staff on arrival, but this can be 1 of your 5 reviews or I could go 1 better and go to the local PAPER !! And tell them local pub landlady likes to bully young teenage boys !! I will also be contacting Marston

We have been used the Burnt Stump to walk our dogs over the past 10 years and have visited the Pub on an irregular basis. Shocked to receive a Parking fine after walking our Dog on Monday, 31st March 2025. We were not aware of any signs or cameras as you enter or when you park on the left hand side of the Car Park Obviously, we and our friends will not be visiting Pub in the future - shortsighted policy I feel.

Absolutely amazing service, breakfast was out of this world and staff were very polite coming over several times with a smile to check on how everything was. Would 100% recommend this pub to everyone. Thankyou for an amazing service Meg,Gemma and Chris!

Lovely setting and the staff are friendly enough . We had a 30% off the mains voucher . So we decided to go with my Dad for lunch . My Dad had a salad which was lovely really good portion . I had the lasagne which was ok , not huge in portion but ok . My husband had chillie con carne with Rice , his portion would have been small even for a child . It cost about £9 with the money off voucher but I can’t say it was worth that much . We’ve been quite a few times to the Burnt stump and normally been quite happy with it . Today though we were a little underwhelmed. I know we had a voucher deal but I’ve been to other restaurants offering similar deals and the portion sizes way more generous .

Table for tour booked for midweek lunch at 1 p.m.. Pub was busy. Nobody on meet and greet so approached bar to ask for location of our pre-booked table. Only one member of staff serving- had to wait 10 mins to be shown to a table. Table cold every time the adjacent door opened and all four seat pads worn out and horribly stained so moved to another table. 3 of us had soup bu only one soup had croutons! 2 of US had 4 oz gammon- one came very charred, another was one third fat and rind. The flesh of my beer battered fish was a bit grey- not nice and white like my local chippy . I wouldn't make a return visit.

The meal was good however the service was appalling. There was no friendly welcome and were ignored by the staff while waiting to be served at the bar. The 'manager' presented with a disinterested attitude which seemed to trickle down to the rest of the staff who were difficult to decipher as they wore hoodies/sweat tops which comes across as unprofessional, lazy and a dirty tea towel hanging from the waistband trouser. On delivery of the food the waiter dropped the meal on the table, no eye contact, an attitude that left us feeling we were in the way and he exited without asking if we needed anything further. We had no further contact from staff, not even to ask if we were enjoying our meal. I noted another customer made a complaint as we waited. I would normally tip the service however on this occasion the only tip I can offer is better customer service training, clean standard uniforms/clothing and some sense of enjoying working in that business. Our first and last visit we will not return nor recommend.

We took 3 dogs between us after having a walk around the country park. The staff we incredibly accommodating and allowed us to spread out and sit in a quiet spot as the Great Dane drew a lot of attention. Fabulous food and service. Very reasonable especially with blue light card discount.

Lovely meal, felt very looked after, nothing too much trouble, table of 7, all food arrived at once, all nice and hot. Table was reserved and ready for us, food came out to us fast also. Very impressed and would definitely recommend and we will return

This place is great for a day out staff are very friendly and the food is amazing aswell as the service. There is not a long wait for food and everything I asked for was spot on, would recommend.

Nice place to stop for a coffee with some beautiful views. I was early for a hospital appointment so this place was the perfect waiting place, rather than waiting in the hospital itself.

We have been here many a times over the years, but never again! We went as a family for our son's birthday and the food was awful, three of us had the breaded mushrooms which were served with no presentation in mind, my husbands were cold in the middle, my mother's main course came with cold mushy peas and my chicken was dry and hard and hardly warm, served with withered rocket, which I did not touch! I thought about complaining at the time of the meal but with it being my sons birthday I didn't want to spoil his evening. Needless to say, my husband subsequently ended up with food poisoning which we were not overly surprised about (which lasted over 5 days) and my mother had stomach cramps the following day. We noticed at the time that the waitress serving us were walking round with dirty tea towels serving food! The restaurant wasn't even busy so there were no excuse for poorly served/cold food. I wouldn't even say that it was cheap, the bill came to nearly £90.00 (excluding drinks) and that was with a 30% discount of the main meal!

Beautiful garden and view but unfortunately food really mediocre… had a kebab&chips and meat quality wasn’t great, wasn’t enough warm when served. More than likely we will not come back, but if somebody is not focused on food then it’s nice place for a drink.

Just had the worst Sunday lunch. Microwaved soggy Yorkshire pudding, watery gravy and dreadful plastic turkey. No check back either. My partners pie was rock hard. Such a shame as it has always been a favourite pub but we won’t be returning.
