Had friends over so went to Whitchurch. Found this pub so thought we give it a try. Spoke to staff and no tables free but told we can go into the garden if we wanted to. We did and then advised they had a table free. Food ordered. Food arrived in good time. I had BBQ chicken melt with proper chips, while my wife had home made lasagne l. Our friends had fish and chips, and curry. How lovely it looked and tasted. Proper chips, not fries that looked undercooked. Staff really nice, helpful and I overall great atmosphere. We will definitely be going back to sample more food and deserts. Well done.

Been today as was recommended to try the roast dinner, we all had Beef today & it was so Tough we struggled to eat it & had to cut it up into pieces I'd cut for a 2 Yr old.. Mash potatoes tasted like smash with extra butter added, hardly any vegetables on plates, roasties were like boiled potatoes (no roasted there) The only good thing was the yorkie. Sorry but won't be going there again. Disappointed to say the least.

Good honest pub that serves really lovely food at a reasonable price. Kid and dog friendly and the service is very friendly. We've been a few times now and will be back again.

Good food made the old fashioned way

Looked for a meeting point to visit with our son and chose this place as the reviews seemed good for the food and friendliness of the staff. We were not disappointed. The food was very good and the staff were helpful and professional. They set up a table for us while we were waiting for our son to arrive. Would definitely visit again if in area.

Lovely food, prompt service, busy lunchtime atmosphere. Children's menu available, we all enjoyed our meals.

This is a review of the Bulls Head, despite the fact that that it is called the Old Eagles at the top of the page. We ate here on a cold January evening. The staff were really friendly and the music was fantastic 80s and 90s , but the star was the food. We had veggie lasagne, home made and really delicious, followed by sticky toffee pudding. If you are looking for good honest food at reasonable prices, I strongly recommend you try here!

Staff are always friendly. Drinks are fresh and food is too. All reasonably priced especially for the quality of food that you get!

Stopped by for a spot of lunch on our way to an event. We had the chicken mushroom pie and a burger with beers. The food was good. Greeted by a warm and friendly staff.

The food is really good and great value. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Has tables and chairs in the garden and it's great to sit out there in the nice weather

My husband and I had a drink in the bar while staying in Whitchurch for a few days. We were so impressed with the friendly staff and the incredibly varied Menu that we decided to eat in 'The Bull's Head' the next night. We were not disappointed. Our meals were extremely tasty and very good value for money. I would recommend.

Just stopped by on the off-chance for a evening meal during a journey home from a few days away. The Bulls Head is a traditional English pub in Whitchurch. The welcome was cheery & friendly, the atmosphere good. Dog friendly. Noticed (but didn't play) darts & pool. Their menu had the usual tradional pub fayre & plenty of choice of meals, sandwiches, salads & more. The food was very nice - tasty & well presented, the portions more than adequate & at £28 for two mains, 2 desserts & 2 pints of soft drinks, pretty good value. They were happy to adjust my meal to allow for dietary requirements too. The facilities were a little dated but very clean. Parking was rather limited but the only negative for us. Would happily call in again. Thanks for looking after us, guys.

Our first time visiting the bulls head and have to say it was a lovely pub , friendly bar staff and the Sunday roast was excellent in value as well as taste . I couldn't resist having a pudding too a large slice of chocolate fudge cake and ice-cream. We will definitely be back

We where greeted by a lady called Faye she was very friendly and made us feel very welcome the food was excellent the atmosphere was fantastic and the meals wernt to vadly priced either. we will be going again tomorrow in fact this will be our local when on our fishing breaks thankyou

Hosted a medium sized family gathering for my mum's 80th birthday. We were given our own space, plenty of options around food, generous provision, easy to plan with, accommodating and friendly staff, and great value for money.

Amazing!!! Such a friendly welcoming place. The food was amazing and very reasonable and the staff were lovely how a real pub should be! Thank you so much to the landlord to who helped me and my family when we got stuck getting to our holiday house! Can not fault the place one bit! THANKS!!!

Booked a table for my 61 birthday while out camping nearby. Chosen this place as had difficulty finding pub that served food and was dog friendly. Lovely friendly staff who welcomed our puppy and ourselves, fabulous food, main and dessert at very reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit.

Sunday lunch with my parents. Lovely food here, very well priced and staff were very friendly. The gravy on the Sunday dinner has to be the best I’ve ever had, absolutely lovely. Pork roast dinner was lovely, for the price you get a lot of nice food. The pub itself has a very friendly, local atmosphere. Very clean and tidy. Definitely coming back!!!!!!!

Oh my word, the food here is absolutely top notch. I had Haddock, Chips and mushy peas. The chips were the best I've ever tasted, the batter on the fish was beautiful, not too heavy. I will be back later in the year! If you're in the area please check them out!

We stayed in Whitchurch this week. Went in the Bulls Head on Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday night for our evening meal. All meals were excellent good value for money with plenty of choice to choose from. A good choice of draught beers and very friendly staff.

Had lunch here today with my daughter and granddaughter. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. Their homemade chips were lovely, a real change from the usual chips in pubs. Will definitely be coming back for more.

Called in at just turned 6pm in the off chance of getting a Sunday lunch. Even though they finished food at 6pm they were all very accommodating and we ordered 2 drinks and 2 Sunday Roasts (Beef) £23.95. We weren't expecting too much but were extremely well surprised. The plate was well stocked, all cooked well which left us well contented! All the staff were great and we had a chat with the Manager.....A great find, well recommended. We'll definitely be back!!!

Stopped of at whitchurch on a canal holiday with family members called in bulls head for a evening meal and a few drinks all our meals were spot on delicious and reasonably priced so was the drinks we struggled to get a taxi back to the canal as it was to far for my mam to walk and the chef gave us a ride back home friendly staff nothing was out of the way for them would highly recommend

My wife and I along with our daughter in law and one of our grandchildren went to the bulls head after looking at the other reviews, we were not disappointed, everything from the welcome was fantastic. The food is home cooked and very tasty, the staff can't do enough for you, the atmosphere is great, a proper old English pub, not a chain. We will be going back again.

Great pub and bar staff Brill. Food was really good too. Dogs allowed which is a must for us. Location is slap bang in the middle of town which made it a little more difficult to ensure the dog had somewhere to 'go', however, the service and food far outweighed any negatives. Would certainly go back.

After an impromptu visit last Sunday, we were pleasantly surprised, atmosphere was magnetic, staff and owners where very tentive and extremely friendly, the vibe to this amazing gem of a place is just what everyone needs on a night out, would HIGHLY recommend going on a Sunday evening.... We stopped here today hoping to find a late table of 5 for lunch on a bank holiday! Ladies were happy to seat us and were friendly. Food was amazing! Tasted homemade, great quality and quantity and great value for money - Thankyou very much we loved it and no doubt will be back soon from the couple with 3 boys

Five star excellent service brilliant Lunch home made food WOW. DON'T MISS IT OUT. Oldy world pub but fantastic. Sunday Dinners is only Sundays get their for 12pm as they fill up just after that but great food in the week will be going back on our journeys.

Very tasty roast dinner with an extra jug of gravy as normal. Food was piping hot and stayed hot for quite a while. Service was very friendly. Would definitely go again if in the area. Excellent value for money
