We revisited here after having Sunday lunch a couple of months ago (which was terrific) The service was warm friendly and lovely. The food was great. The apple crumble was to die for. We had a lovely time and the chap serving us went out of his way to make it a lovely experience. Really recommend here as that’s the 4th time we have been and everytime it’s been great

We stayed at The Bulls Head, Arthingworth B&B, for two nights. We were greeted by Mo who made us feel very welcome and ensured we had all we needed. Our room was a self contained unit which was very comfortable and clean. We used it as a base to explore Northampton and Leicester as it was ideally placed between the two. On the evening we went into the pub for our meals, where we were greeted warmly by Tim. The food was outstanding and we would highly recommend The Bulls Head for overnight stays or even just a stop off for dinner and a drink of an evening.

Used for overnight accommodation but not for eating. Room was a reasonable size but a little tired in places. However for price paid cannot complain. No air con or fan available in room and it would have been quite smelly if windows left open due to nearby farm. Bed was reasonably comfy and plenty of storage space if staying longer than one night. Pub is in a small quiet village off the beaten track so very quiet. Opted to eat elsewhere as food prices were on the high side compared to facilities in say nearby Market Harborough, this included breakfast @£13pp as a full English meal was not required.

We booked here for a family Sunday roast and it didn’t disappoint. I had the roast lamb and it was lovely. The rhubarb and ginger cheesecake dessert was amazing. Portions were generous and it was good value Lovely pub interior and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would def recommend here and we will revisit. They have a small outdoor space and the toilets were really clean. A real little gem of a place

We have not visited the Bulls Head for a long time but called in for Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed. The meat was melt in the mouth tender and the vegetables cooked to perfection. Couldn’t resist a pudding but had to share one as we were so full! Well worth a visit.

I was very impressed with the atmosphere in this lovely village pub. Tastefully decorated with just the right level of lighting. The selection of real ale was also excellent. Now for the bad news...... There was a large group of us and we had booked weeks in advance and preordered our meal choices. The portions wee very small, at best it was served warm, and the pricing was such that it did not represent very good value at all. I will not be returning to eat, but perhaps for a quick drink.

A large group of us had lunch on 22 December. We had all preordered our meals and service was quick and accurate. Plates were beautifully hot and the food was excellent. I had the haddock fish cake starter and sea bass main. All very well presented and cooked. Everyone served at the same time by a very efficient waitress. Be I will bring mmy family here soon. Thanks again to the management for this lovely meal.

Unfortunately I can't comment on the food because we didn't get any. We patently waited over 50 minutes for our order to arrive. Not once during that time were we informed by the staff of any delay. No explanation, let alone an apology, was forthcoming. It's as if we were invisible. The worse service I have ever encountered. We decided pay the unfriendly barman for our drinks, advised him we were leaving and why - still no apology - so we left.

We stayed for one night as we were visiting a festival on the Kelmarsh Estate, just a few minutes drive away. Our room was spotless with an ensuite loo and shower. There was also tea and coffee. We thought we'd try the pubs evening meal menu. My partner had the garlic mushrooms starter and Chicken Schitznel main course and I had battered halloumi and the sea bass main. Both were well cooked and delicious. We had a friendly waitress as well. Our meals were excellent value for money. We booked breakfast the next morning at 15 pounds each, so after a goodnights sleep went to the pubs dining area. My partner had a full English and I asked for a mushroom omelette with bacon. There was one slice of white toast on each of the plates. Cereals were on offer but no fruit juices. We both thought that 15 pounds was a lot to pay for each breakfast. Perhaps 10 pounds would have been more realistic considering our evening meals which were much better value. All in all, a lovely place to stay and we would like to visit again, as we were told there is good walking around the area. Thank you

OH and I popped in on the off chance this evening for dinner and we were really impressed. Our starters, Garlic Mushrooms and Salt & Pepper Squid, were well presented and really tasty 😋. Our mains, fish & chips and Lambs Liver, were just gorgeous. OH's batter was light and crisp and the fish was delicious. My lambs liver was cooked just right and super soft. Totally perfect. The chap serving was attentive and chatty, a really nice guy. The pub is warm and welcoming with a lovely burner keeping everyone warm. A great evening with food I'd thoroughly recommend to everyone.

We had visited a couple of times before around six months ago, a lovely pub with great welcoming atmosphere and lovely smiling staff who couldn’t do enough for you ………. a complete contrast to our latest visit From the moment we arrived the manager / barman was Rude and obnoxious it was like our visit was a complete inconvenience to him. As we were already there we put the unfriendly greeting aside and decided to look at the menus and myself and my partner were seated in the dining area…….and then forgotten about, after nearly 20 minutes my partner decided to order the drinks and our choice of two chicken roast dinners at the bar on the way to the toilet, on his return he told me that to get to the toilets you have to pass the kitchen and he could hear the chef shouting and swearing at the waitresses (no wonder they were miserable) we would have left at this point but as the drinks had finally arrived and our meal order was taken we decided we would have to stay. After another 15-20 minutes a waitress came to our table to inform us that the chicken had sold out hours ago and we would have to make another selection no apology at the lack of chicken but this could be forgiven by the way they were mistreated by the chef. So we both chose the beef. It was a long wait for our meals and when they did arrive both were only warm very chewy and not enough gravy by this time we had enough of the horrible experience so we finished what we had and asked for the bill after paying and getting half way home we realised we were overcharged. This used to be a lovely place to come visit on a Sunday drive but now it’s not worth the petrol.

Walked in today and found a lovely welcoming pub serving great beer and a good choice of home cooked food. The staff serving us were attentive, good humoured and efficient. 2 superb fish pies and 2 chicken dishes later we were very impressed. Nice presentation and plentiful portions. Only 2 of us managed a pudding but this was again, plentiful and really well presented. Made to feel very welcome, good ambience, plenty of room inside and a great garden outside. Nicely decorated and well worth a visit. Good for walkers especially and anyone passing through. Good communication too!

We visited a week ago (and also in June) and it was fantastic - lovely food and prompt service. Today, however, it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. When we first arrived, we were told that (although we had pre-booked a table) our name wasn’t written next to a table in their books. We ordered 5 chicken roast dinners and were under the impression that this was fine - we had ordered drinks and then ordered additional drinks. Around half an hour later, however, we were told that only 2 portions of chicken were available. For a family who predominantly eat white meat, this was tricky and so (since we had already waited a while and since we had a hungry toddler with us) we decided to attempt to share 2 portions of chicken between 3 of us (2 adults and a toddler) but had still ordered this as 3 meals - we explicitly asked for our toddler to still have the vegetables and Yorkshire pudding but that we would share our chicken with her) and 2 of our party opted to try something different - beef. 50 or so mins later, 2 portions of beef arrived but we were not informed that there would be any further delays on any of the other meals… We all waited 8-10 further mins and no other meals arrived. At such point, we went to enquire as to where the 3x chicken dinners were, only to be told that they were just about to put the chicken on! I queried why 2/5 of the meals had arrived and yet the chicken roasts hadn’t been cooked to be told that actually they were just sorting the chicken… (which then never arrived - again, many meals went out to other tables in those 10 minutes so we strongly feel that our portions of chicken went to other tables). Honestly, when you come out for a special family meal, you don’t expect to have 2/5 fulfilled at one time, 2/5 promised to be fulfilled at some point and 1/5 totally forgotten about! When you come for a family meal, you would like to expect that you were served as a family - all having a meal and at the same time. After waiting for around 1.20 hours, our toddler had about had enough and so had we. Perhaps, however, the worst part of the experience was the customer service. Rather than apologising for the error that had occurred or even making a goodwill gesture, the priority of the gentleman on the bar was to inform us that we still needed to pay for our drinks. He then did lots of shoulder shrugging and went on to say that none of this experience was his fault because he isn’t a chef and isn’t in the kitchen - and then made reference to the fact that we hadn’t even ordered a meal for our toddler! We reminded him that we had ordered one for her - chicken - but that they had told us some time after ordering that they only had 2 portions and therefore we had needed to split this meat. We had still ordered the accompaniments for her. All he could do was shrug his shoulders and not once did he apologise for the mess! Needless to say, we all opted to leave the meals, and the drinks, on the table - unpaid for. Based on previous experiences, I would genuinely have reviewed this establishment fondly - if it’s quiet and they actually have the food, it’s lovely and cooked really well. Based on today, we won’t be back. They don’t seem to be able to manage if they actually have customers.

We also had the best nights sleep we have ever had whilst staying out and around the country. Would highly recommend and definitely return!! Thank you! Sarah and Claire

This was a Sunday Father's Day meal for 4 which I had wanted to book (a week in advance) at 13:00 but was told that I could book at 12:45 as it would be a squeeze at 13:00. Throughout our meal (about an hour) the restaurant had plenty of free tables although other guests did arrive, so the ambiance was pleasant and not too busy. Perhaps this was to do with kitchen capacity and avoiding long waits for customers: if so we apprectiated this. I mentioned this booking issue at the end but no real reason was given. Nevertheless this was a very good Sunday lunch with ample vegetables, tender meat and excellent waitress service. (Perhaps the microwave had not reached all corners of the cauliflower cheese). We all selected deserts and these were served in respectable portions, much enjoyed. The overall cost of the meal was very fair and we now have every encouragement to go again having not visited for a few years.

I visited The Bulls Head early October for a family meal for four. The pub itself is set in the picturesque village of Arthingworth and on entering you can see why it is so popular with locals and visitors. There was a lovely atmosphere and the pub decor was nice and appealing. We were greeted at the bar and promptly shown to our table in the restaurant area. As this was a birthday meal the staff had kindly decorated our table and seating area. A drinks order was taken by a friendly female waitress and within a couple of minutes we had them. Starters were ordered by two - Brixworth Patè And Halloumi and let’s just say there was no complaints and empty plates. Main courses soon followed…. Gammon Steak, Burger, Chicken BBQ melt and a Steak and Ale Pie… with some extra onion rings and a garlic bread. The meals were piping hot and all delicious. You are probably thinking there is no way they had desert…. Oh well we did….two vanilla cheese cakes and two chocolate fudge cakes, all with ice cream and amazing. The whole experience was fantastic, Rob and his team are so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. It’s also worth noting that the Head Chef makes a number of items on the menu himself… so you really are getting lovely homemade meals. So if you are looking for a friendly pub with great meals and service then look no further, The Bulls Head is well worth a visit.

We visited here first on our mountain bikes during the day as we were in need of refreshments and a snack to keep us going. The outside had just been redecorated and we were told the inside was behind re-vamped soon but it was very quaint already and lots of outside space for the summer. My girlfriend went inside and ordered some sandwiches, which they promptly brought outside to our table in the sun. The food was fresh and tasty and very reasonablypriced. We had such good service from all the staff, nothing was too much trouble, in fact one of the waitresses reaction to our requests was always "no problem" that we decided to go back that evening at 8 o'clock and try the restaurant food. We were pleasantly surprised again see photo below of the blue Stilton burger meal, I struggled to finish it honestly. It was delicious !Top marks to the chef and staff here at the Bulls head in Clipston. 5 starsWe would definitely go back again.staff that we decided to go back later that evening and try the restaurant . We booked for 8 o clock and went back.
