Terrible attitude to towards customers. Very strange vibe if you have never been before. Would not surprise me if you had to join a cult to drink here. The old man and lady who run this place are just very strange people and will make you feel very un welcomed. Avoid at all costs to be honest, drink in the anchor instead they are very welcoming and just normal. This place is not normal.

Rude and confrontational owners. We sat at an unoccupied table with food on it and reassured them we didn’t expect them to clean it up as we was just drinking sat on the stools. The owner came over very aggressive telling us to calm despite us being very calm and it was in fact him who was very angry for some reason. Think his frustration came from the fact they had to clean up a table which is a bit strange as it is a pub. Perhaps they would have been more polite if we was regulars with local accents. I’ve ready a few reviews on here saying the same thing but that’s the Angel pub for you. Avoid.

There was a choice of pub staples - fish and chips, burger, club sandwich and a two or three course set menu with a choice of two options on each course which was a bit limited. My main was fish cooked in baking paper with a few vegetables. It wasn't filling so I had to order chips on the side. It was fairly tasty but lacked a wow factor and I expected there to be enough food included within the menu. It really needed an additional vegetable or some kind of filler. There were two main dessert options aside from ice cream and when it came to order we discovered that only one was available. That was very disappointing on such a small menu. Overall, I was disappointed and found the experience underwhelming. I often go to the King's Head, opposite, a Deben Inns pub which is classic and reliable. I thought we'd try something new with the hope it would be a bit more special than the every day. Unfortunately, it was not to be.

We went to the Bull for the New Years Evening, celebrations. We had the set menu for the night , which was amazing. There was a vegetarian choice, but neither my wife or I chose that option. All courses were spot on. I chose the English wine flight that was recommended, and again it was spot on. We’ve eaten here before and have never been disappointed. Would highly recommend a visit if you go to Woodbridge.

Went here for Sunday lunch with family, cannot recommend it highly enough. The food was so well cooked - crispy roast potatoes, delicious cauliflower cheese and a good mix of veg to go with it. Friendly staff who happily brought extra gravy when requested. The portions are a good size, the food is hot and the vegetarian dish was perfect. We'll be back!

We are new to the area and recently discovered the Angel. They offer a very good selection of ales and lager beers from draught, but their specialty must be their gin & tonics. The lady who served us was very enthusiastic about the selection of gins and tonics, and made some excellent recommendations based on our taste. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the week after. We were welcomed back and the staff remembered what drinks we had during our previous visit. That is a level of service that I do not experience often. Recommended!

What a great old English pub, It looks like this used to be a Pubmaster pub, but is now a free house, which explains the number and variety of real ales for sale. I only went in the daytime and there was a real fire burning . It looks like this pub at night has music on, which must be a cosy environment for the locals. When I visit Woodbridge again I must return here.

The Bull is ideally placed in Woodbridge. It is very old and has wonky floors, which adds to it charm. The room is clean, well equipped, nice toiletries. You do need to book parking as they do not have enough for the rooms, and it is a shame that there is a charge for this. The staff in general were very welcoming. Unfortunately, I felt that we put them out at breakfast, and were not made to feel veey welcome. On the first day, we were not offered toast and were told we could not have poached eggs with our full English, despite poached eggs being cooked for Eggs Royal, more coffee was put on reluctantly as we asked for a second cup of coffee. On the second day, we waited 55 minutes for breakfast, the restaurant was not full. The food was good, although the toast did let them down as it was just normal sliced bread, we also had to ask for jams. I would have liked to give them a good, rather than very good. I should also mention that there was a lovely member of staff who helped me carry my suitcase down the wonky stairs.

Real pleasure to be served by her. Great location in town square. Great independent shops as well as usual chains. Lovely for evening strolls and loads of pubs to choose from. This is the second time we have been here for dinner in the last 2 months, really surprised by how nice the food is, both times we have had a three course meal, all courses were very good, the desserts are a bit hit and miss as to how big they are, so for example the crumble is huge enough for 2! where as a more fancy sounding dessert is three small things on a very large plate, but delicious none the less. Service is good, wine list good and beer plenty full for choice. Definitely somewhere to go for real food and a good choice of menu.

We stayed one night at The Bull Inn and had a very pleasant stay. The room was decent, albeit a tad on the basic side, but the bed was comfortable enough. The pub is very nice and the breakfast in the morning is very good. One minor issue we had is the heating starting banging in the middle of the night, but the staff seemed to deal with it effectively and apologised for any disturbance the following morning. There's a small car park at the rear, but it's advisable to reserve a spot in advance. However, It's quite a small car park and can be tricky to manouvre, so alternative parking off site might be better for drivers who struggle with parking. The staff were very attentive to our needs and super friendly, and so I would definitely recommend The Bull Inn as a great place to stay in the heart of Woodbridge. We recently stayed at The Bull Inn whilst visiting the area. We stayed two nights and had dinner one evening, which was very good, no complaints. the breakfasts are wonderful, if a little bit slow in arriving. Staff in the restaurant all friendly and helpful. As regards the room, we were pleased with the location, food and the staff, but a bit disappointed in the family room. We had read all the reviews and looked at the pictures and were excited to stay in the historic inn. When we stayed previously it was in an excellent room in the main building. The family room is OK, but it is basically an annex behind the hotel with the door and windows opening onto the car park. It was not of the same quality with decor and size as the other rooms pictured on the website. We also got no internet at all in our room and no sitting area since the room was tight and only one chair per room. The bathroom however was very nice and the shower excellent. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and the food very good for both breakfasts and dinner. The room was OK, but probably a bit over-priced when compared to the other rooms

The menu said Tempura battered fish with coleslaw and fries with skins on.! What arrived was four small pieces of fish in a puffed up overload of batter, with half a plate ( I mean half a plate ) of chips, very ordinary chips. I assumed I was getting fish and chips in Tempura batter. No mention of goujons which is how I would describe them. Had I have been alone I would have complained. The waitresses were charming. Ambiance - Zero. Very dated environment. Needs a lift.

Very difficult to rate, walked all around the building no open doors until we arrived at the side gate where we walked in yet nobody to be seen in the outdoor area with some benches in front of some old stable doors and a marquee erected behind. In front a sign with directions to the toilets with a hot potatoe wagon behind and a pizza bar hem packed with anything but pizza that looked as it had not been used in decades. I followed the sign for the toilet and entered the public house the looked like in had been abandoned mid gig like the Mary Salest. As we were walking out to leave a young man entered the side gate asking if he could help us. Normality returned we sat outside on one of the benches while he opened up! Then he came out to serve, polite, efficient with could choice of avail drinks. The perfect host. As for the rest not quite sure what was going on.

The food was good, but it didn’t feel like good value for money. The service I received today wasn’t all that welcoming, either, and ordering and paying for my food felt a little awkward. A shame really, as the environment and surroundings are lovely (albeit a bit chilly - that’s February in the UK after all).

All in all a great lunch and long may they thrive in Felixstowe.
