Kesgrave Kitchen in Suffolk Coastal

Its my first time to dine there, ambience is nice. the pancake in this platter is super good.

Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Clean venue and cosy however, £6.50 for one piece of sourdough toast with scrambled egg! It tasted delicious but two pieces of bread would have been more filling. Definitely overpriced! Won't be visiting again...

Food is excellent, but prices are on the high side.

Great place, was really impressed with the food and coffee when visiting for the first time. Some nice creative options on the menu as well. Prompt service and nice relaxing atmosphere

My eggs Benedict were very good; would have been perfect if the eggs were not overcooked. Not a big deal for me but the step-mother-in-law was appalled. Everyone else’s were great; the full English large was huge. Good service and nice atmosphere. 11/01/25 update: all of the above and the poached eggs were perfect. This time I had the full American breakfast: it was great! Bonus - they have my favorite hot sauce!

Staff still helpful and friendly even during really busy times. The food was absolutely delicious and really reasonably priced. Make sure to try the freshly squeezed orange juice

We had a disastrous & quite distressing attempt to go to Kesgrave Kitchen today……we turned up for lunch and it was full - fair enough. We gave our names…..and were happy to wait a few minutes for a table to come free inside the cafe. We were told in no uncertain terms to stand outside…..it was absolutely tipping with freezing horizontal rain, with high winds and it was also very cold. There was no way anyone could stand outside without getting soaked! We were given health and safety / fire and customer comfort as reasons to stand outside in the rain! I understand all those arguments, but in that weather, it was simply not an option……and if we had stood outside and got soaked….we would have soaked the floor of the cafe when we came in……which is if course a health and safety issue!!!! Come on Kesgrave kitchen - we’ve always had good food there, but you need to treat your customers with a bit more respect and dignity…..it’s certainly put us off coming again. I would avoid in cold weather - there seems to be no allowance for this sort of thing.

Great breakfast and fast and friendly service. Busy - but still seated very quickly. Definitely worth a visit, just 5 minutes from the A12.

Really enjoyed my lunch at Kesgrave Kitchen yesterday. I had a toasted cheese and onion chutney sourdough sandwich that also included crisps and salad. As well as this I had a festive orange hot chocolate - Lovely.😊 It was quite busy when I got there, but I managed to find a table easily. I would definitely recommend the cafe and look forward to a return visit!.

Love the kesgrave kitchen loved it when it was run by the ol boys and love it now ...nice clean surroundings friendly staff and the best egg and avocado on sourdough.. maybe on the pricier side but me and my friends love it there

Lovely place, didn’t have to wait, fast service, but usually busy on weekends. Food was tasty and came quickly. I got avocado and halloumi on sourdough and a white chocolate mocha. Husband got veggie breakfast and mocha :)

Extremely noisy environment Large breakfast was expensive for what was served up. Pre-cooked food, which wasn't very hot. Very Saltly bacon and cheap sausages. Salmon Avacado breakfast had very little scrambled egg, which had a skin on it as it was pre-cooked. £30 was expensive for the quality and size of this breakfast.

Had a lovely brunch. The food was awesome, tried the coronation baguette and the butchers breakfast with the frappe. 10 on 10 for the food and the service.

First time visiting and I am pleased to say I was not disappointed. Really tasty hot chocolate! Id say maybe the best I've ever had at any cafe or pub. Well done! Great big sausage and bacon baguette as well (normally comes with egg but not for me!) This came out very promptly after ordering as well which was an added bonus. Friends scrambled egg looked nice.... If you like eggs of course! But he said it was great. Overall a very happy experience. Plenty of seats, great service and lovely food.

Delicious food freshly prepared. A great selection on the menu, something for everyone.

Had a lunchtime business meeting there. Ordered the All Day large breakfast with a soft drink. The food tasted wonderful. The service was quicker than expected as it was busy whilst we were there. The staff are friendly and sociable and the cost reasonable. We got to sit outside in the sun, making it even better. Highly recommend popping in.

Wow! I am so impressed. This is my first time coming to Kesgrave Kitchen in years and I absolutely love it! The staff are all wonderful, smiley and friendly- great service and very helpful. We were served quickly, our food came out looking absolutely beautiful. We had the folded pancakes and the large butchers breakfast and my goodness, they were to die for! So tasty, I’ve honestly never had such good pancakes. 10/10

Really enjoyed our trip to Kesgrave Kitchen. Food was excellent, service was great and they’re brilliant with food intolerances / allergies. I can’t have gluten / dairy at the moment and they had plenty of dairy alternative milks available and did GF toast and sausages. Surprisingly hard to come by places like this - can see why it’s so busy all the time!

I took my Dad to the Kitchen for a breakfast and I had eggs Benedict, both were decent sized portions and the eggs Benedict were perfect. The food arrived at the same time, the server was brilliant, very polite and ensured we had everything we needed. It wasn't very busy at the time and I was pleasantly surprised to see dogs allowed in the restaurant, so next time I'll bring mine along. It's a very friendly , community spirited venue that offers decent food at slightly higher prices than I expected, but the quality of the food was well worth it. my only complaint was the the tea could be served maybe in a pot or larger mugs rather than the small ones that we had. If that was the case it would be an absolutely perfect venue for late breakfast or brunch. Overall, it's 100 times better than the previous incarnation I visited back in 2008! it offers better value, better food, better surroundings and the owners have really put a lot of effort into the place. We've been back since and will go again.

My first time here and it was nice. I'd say very much aimed for Breakfast or tea and cake. I had the american breakfast which was fine and the value seemed fair in todays climate. The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is the fact dogs are allowed in the actual restaurant.

Absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. I have eggs Royal most times when eating out for breakfast and this was delicious. The homemade hollandaise was yummy too. My husband had a butchers breakfast and he was very impressed. My first time trying a match chai latte and I loved it. Will definitely return.

Usually very busy when we call in for coffee and snack. Great staff, very good service, and parking a bonus!

During a powercut on a Saturday morning we decided the only course of action was breakfast out! They have a good range of types of breakfast, I had the traditional fry up. But Pancakes and Eggs Benedict was also enjoyed by other members of the family. The only criticism is the acoustics are poor and it did get very noisy in there. However i dont think this is enough of a problem to only warrant 4 stars.

Such delicious food. The kind of food you want to eat again the next day. I had eggs royale, lots of salmon, superb hollandaise sauce. Attentive service. Nice decor. The only thing I would prefer would be a quieter background. I guess a busy place is always noisy, but there are no soft furnishings to absorb this. Nice toilets. Outside seating too....would be lovely on a warmer day. It would be my go-to place, if I lived close by.

Sometimes, this place can get quite busy, but for the right reasons. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the food is really good, Everything is fresh, usually locally sourced. Nothing on the menu will leave you disappointed! And why not wash it all down with freshly squeezed orange juice or a rather indulgent hot chocolate 😋

Was recommended the kesgrave Kitchen by some colleagues and it did not disappoint! Some said it’s a bit more expensive but in my opinion the quality of food, friendly service and lovely atmosphere was well worth it and I shall definitely be returning.

A very nice place to have a good breakfast. The staff is super friendly and the location rather modern and appears freshly reworked. It seems that many locals are visiting this place, which I assume, speaks for itself.

Food was absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection, good quality and presented so well. Treated my girls aged 12 and 9 and they loved it. One had poached egg on smashed avocado and sourdough toast with salmon, the other had dirty fries. They both had white hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream. Honestly, I will make this a monthly treat, next time I’m told the American pancakes will be their choice! Service was amazing, only negative is it was cold, but if I had of known they provided blankets I would have given 5* Lovely, clean and happy environment. Highly recommend x

Turned up in the pouring rain with my daughter, her boyfriend and stepson. There were a couple of tables free but none for 4 people. Lady came over and said there would be a little bit of a wait. I said fine we would just stand inside the door as there was plenty of room. She told me we weren’t allowed to stand inside and would have to wait outside in the wind and rain. First time I’ve ever been told that anywhere. First started going in there 30 years ago. I won’t be going back.

This place is great what a find ! ! reasonable prices great indoors and outside space and the food was fantastic. I can't believe this establishment is so close to us and we never knew about it. We shall be going back without a doubt. Opening times are between 8am until 3pm and closed on Sundays.

Good service, great food. Parking is a bit of a chore, however this isn’t the fault of a great little kitchen. Lots of space inside for many diners.

Very clean very friendly and a good atmosphere, great for breakfast or lunch. Just a shame they are not open on Sunday's.

Very nice clean place we stopped in on the way back from Colchester. The food was very nice especially the breakfast and sausage roll 😋. The staff are all very friendly and the toilets are very clean.

My son took me here for lunch, one of his favourite 'discoverys' since he started working in Ipswich. Really nice food, I'll be back again. Went back again today with my wife. She was just as pleased as I was with this great little cafe.

Hello ate there nice place but don't like the yellow containers in back garden to kill wasps seems cruel as they are not able to get out and die slowly may not bother some people but others may not like spoilt our visit would rather leave nature alone be good if you remove these please many thanks

Lovely breakfast with a lush outdoor space for the little one

First time I’ve visited here, it’s a very friendly and welcoming cafe that offers a wide range of food, drinks (hot and cold), cakes and pastries. Food is good value for money here, there is both indoor and outdoor seating. Dog friendly for outdoors (must be on a lead) - overall, definitely worth dropping by if you’re driving past! In terms of the food I ordered, I found the pancakes were drenched in honey (would have preferred honey in a pot to drizzle personally). Freshly squeezed OJ was a bit overpriced though.

We were recommended to this place by a colleague from breakfast. There were 5 of us altogether but we were seated comfortably. Everyone enjoyed their meal. These were eggs benedict and ham, egg & chips with a mixture of latte's and soft drinks. For 5 of us it was just over £10 p/p. The staff were great too, really polite and happy. We all enjoyed it will be going back.

Since it's refurbishment Kesgrave Kitchen has had quite a buzz to it. Often busy with good food in pleasant surroundings. It can get a bit too loud in there but I believe they're working on that.

Excellent little cafe, I went here whilst my boy was training at Ipswich Football (5min drive). The staff were lovely, and so was the food. I had a small butcher's breakfast. All the items were local and tasted delicious. I will be coming again and can recommend if you are in the area. Thanks

Tried to charge me £1.50 to have scrambled egg instead of fried. I can buy 6 eggs for that.
