The Bull in Haringey

We had our joint 50th celebration upstairs at The Bull. Had the whole top floor, two great bar staff, amazing food (everyone commented on how good the food was), they allowed us to take all the tables out so we could dance, provided a great sound system for our playlist, and curated a drinks menu for us, and managed the tab carefully and kindly with us all through the night. We brought in an independent photo booth, which was no problem. The night was a massive success. Special mention goes to Nick, Lucas and Nick. Thank you so much. You made our 50th a night to remember in all the best ways!

Lovely atmosphere … excellent food ( the portions are very generous ) The staff are fabulous ..particularly the young man who helped my very disabled husband outside …really kind of him

This pub has much improved from its decline. It’s under new management. The staff greet you with a smile. You immediately feel welcomed.it makes such a difference to a visit. Th new menu is varied and the meals I have had have been very good. It’s a lovely pub, comfortable with an outside garden. It’s good to see it back in good hands with such a friendly competent staff. My wife and I and a dear elderly friend visited The Bull for lunch time drinks. We were given a warm welcome by Samantha. We found the service efficient and very friendly.

Absolutely terrible - do not go here. We arrived at 12 just when it opened for lunch, and no one showed us to a table. I actually had to ask if we could sit down. Then no one brought menus, so I went and asked, and a woman came and gave us menus. Two seconds later, another staff member told us those were the Sunday menus, and we needed the correct menus. About 10 mins later, she brought us the menus after not being able to find them, and half of the menu was crossed off because they’d run out of ingredients, even though the pub had just opened. After all of this, we didn’t even get offered a concession which was disgraceful. Staff do not care at all about their customers. Only positive is the pub is beautiful to look at and seats are comfortable.

Beautiful venue, lovely back garden, delicious food and great beer. The service is always great especially when Gosha is in ;)

Only signed up to say that Gosha is doing an amazing job, we also loved the food and the back garden is kept so nicely. Our favourite pub from now on.

My wife and I went with our baby for Mother's Day and it was amazing. The roasts we had were perfectly cooked, generous portions, and came quickly. It was busy being mother's day, but the staff were so friendly and eager to please. We honestly haven't had a better roast in years and the chocolate brownie desert was divine! Will definitely be back.

Used to have great menu and good food but was very disappointed, wouldn’t go again. Guess they changed the kitchen staff

Today I had the worst Sunday roast pub/restaurant meal I can remember. I am unlikely to return. The portions were only just adequate (making it not surprising with hindsight that we were asked if we would like to add a side dish). I began by trying the kale, which was so tough I could barely cut it. I then tried a potato, which was practically cold. I pointed this out to the waiter who took my plate away and returned it with an apology and with the potatoes nicely heated in the fryer. I then realised that the rest of my meal was barely warm. It must have been plated up ages in advance. I had two smallish slices of beef, both of which were very gristly (and I suspect had been carved cold and 'reheated' in the gravy). The carrots tasted delicious as did the gravy. The red cabbage and Yorkshire pudding were fine.The sticky toffee pudding on the menu was not available but was replaced by Christmas pudding, which I selected and enjoyed. The portion of pudding was tiny - and was overpriced at £8.

We had a small gathering at The Bull to celebrate my mum's life. It is not the easiest thing to do, having a funeral in between Christmas and New Year. But the staff and atmosphere of this place really stood out. The room was perfect, there is space to sit and eat but also to mingle. You can play your own playlist and have photos on a slideshow on the TV. The food was perfect, the staff incredibly helpful but also respectful of the occasion and not intrusive in any way. We did not want for anything, didn't have to wait for anything. I would warmly recommend it to anybody for a function.

Very helpful staff, thank you. My friend was a little disappointed with his dish , mentioned as much to the waiter and without a word or a quibble the item was removed from the bill. Fair play for such a trouble free resolution. The beer is very well kept, thanks to an excellent cellar man.

Wow ! What more can I do to elevate this pub (which is essentially a restaurant!). From the moment I walked in I instantly felt a warm sense of community and happiness. Abdi was our severer for the evening and honestly made us feel like the most important family in the world! We had the Christmas dinner which was beyond delicious. 10/10 - would recommend the restaurant to anyone I know.

Yesterday I celebrated the life of my father with my family at The Bull in Highgate. The team here has been absolutely brilliant! Everyone has been so kind, attentive and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The room looked lovely, was perfectly clean and prepared for us; the food was so nicely presented and scrumptious; I was given every assistance with showing photos on the TV screen and playing music. I cannot thank the people there enough… Dominik, the General Manager who called in on the day, especially despite having commitments elsewhere, to ensure that everything was just right for us; Abdi who was so kind, reassuring and attentive, when I made the booking; and Gosha who had been so helpful on the ‘phone and was there for us on the day - so attentive and efficient, kind and helpful; the chef (who I wasn’t able to thank personally), who served up such a tasty lunch for us and so delightfully presented. What a brilliant team - I am so grateful to them for making our day so special. I have never before felt the desire to write such a glowing review. Thank you so much.

This pub is one of my favorite places where I meet family members for dinner and drinks. Whether in summer or winter it has a lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The service is very good and particularly Gosha is very professional and very friendly and attentive. We always have a great time here. We didn’t eat but popped in for a quick drink, very welcoming staff and great back garden. The dark haired waitress was very nice and took good care of us, we will be back to try the food next time. Cheers

Arrived at 1pm. Sat outside. Ordered drinks for the 4 of us which were brought to our table. Then ordered food. 20 minutes later was told "Sorry there will be a delay only 1 chef has turned up". Free olives offered which no one wanted. Food arrived an hour after ordered. Chicken legs were awful and uneaten. Waitress said we will not charge for drinks. Only one person had alcoholic drinks which with the chicken legs were on the bill. Also 12.5% service. Had these taken off the bill. Appalling place. Never again and I live 3 minutes away so have known the place under different owners/management for many years

I don't normally leave reviews, but this is an exception. Both food and service were exceptional, the polish lady who looked after us was fantastic. All in all reasonably priced (for London) and the atmosphere was very nice. We wish we could go back but we were only visiting from Canada.

Very welcoming staff, pleasant interior with good Abbot ale and pub food. Al fresco dining at the front and rear. Recommended.

Lovely pub in Highgate, the front terrace is especially beautiful in the summer. The pub is a little on the side but definitely worth a walk from the Village. The people who work here are friendly and helpful. Great spot to stop by for a drink.

Incredibly good pub food. Hadn't been herein a while and heard the menu changed. I had the spring lamb rump, it was perfect, very good portion and everything on the plate tastes amazing, from the baby gem to the salsa Verde to the meat, wow. I got that with a side of the whipped feta and sourdough, and rustic skin on triple cooked chunky chips, omg, so good. Head chef Jordan came to check on me personally, he's the man! Had a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Bull with good service in the pleasant outdoor area. The food was exceptional - asparagus and warm salmon starters stood out. Roast beef was utterly delicious but the steamed blood orange pudding was just heavenly. Hats off to the chef and great ale too.

We were looking forward to our first post lockdown meal so went back to one of our favourite pubs.Unfortunately it was not a great experience. The heating for the outdoor area was completely inadequate (the lady from another table who brought a hot water bottle had the right idea) did not help. Most of the food was good but not as good as we remembered it, particularly the chicken parmigiana topped with solid mozzarella. It also felt to be quite expensive and not such good value for money as in the past.

He estado aquí antes y traje a un amigo aquí por recomendación mía, pedí pescado y papas fritas como plato principal (16) y el pescado era lo suficientemente pequeño como para ser un entrante. No toqué la comida cuando llamé al camarero para mencionar mi insatisfacción y decepción por el tamaño del pescado.Me dijeron que como el jefe principal se había ido a casa, por eso la porción era tan pequeña. Me sentí insultado por esta experiencia y devolví la comida por principio. Esta fue una situación muy embarazosa y desafortunada.

Vinimos un lunes por la noche para aprovechar la oferta Eat Out to Help Out y tuvimos una comida realmente buena. Todos los platos principales eran de buen tamaño y deliciosos, especialmente la coliflor asada, que era excelente. A los platos principales les vendría bien más lados, pero todos eran muy sabrosos.

Visitamos como un grupo de 4 un miércoles, aprovechando el plan de salir a comer para ayudar. Estaba bastante ocupado afuera, nada incómodo.La comida fue la mejor comida de pub que he probado. Creo que recientemente han tenido un cambio de chef y el estándar era la mejor calidad de pub gastronómico. Las croquetas de costilla estaban crujientes, escamosas y carnosas en una salsa picante tipo mayonesa y el pescado y patatas fritas era exactamente lo que querrías de pescado y patatas fritas en una noche calurosa de verano. Para el postre, la tarta de queso BBQ de piña y ron se deconstruyó y tuvo un gran impacto.El servicio (Dan) fue excelente, que fue realmente informativo en términos del menú y amable en todo momento. También tienen su propia microcervecería en el lugar y una selección rotativa de cervezas para los huéspedes, por lo que fue bueno tener algunas opciones diferentes por una vez.Definitivamente regresaremos con amigos. ¡Creo que nos costaría mucho encontrar mejor comida de pub en el norte de Londres!

Teníamos muchas ganas de comer aquí después de no poder salir en meses y nos decepcionó mucho. Si bien entiendo completamente que todos los bares y restaurantes se han visto afectados negativamente por el covid, nos decepcionó enormemente el tamaño de la porción en comparación con el costo. Teníamos el cordero con costra de harissa con berenjena a la brasa eran aproximadamente 5 piezas de cordero en una pequeña cantidad de berenjena triturada sin otras verduras en el plato que costaba 26 y risotto de cuajada de judías verdes, guisantes y cabra que costaba 18 las porciones también pueden ha sido un titular. Después de ver las comidas que otros clientes tenían y ver su reacción, sabemos que no fuimos los únicos decepcionados. Destripado como siempre he tenido buenas comidas anteriormente.

Primera comida después del encierro y lamentablemente nos hubiera gustado haber elegido otro lugar. He estado en The Bull dos veces antes y disfrutamos de nuestras comidas allí, pero esta vez parecía que los precios habían subido mientras que el nivel de la comida había bajado. Demasiado caro para comida muy normal. El chico principal a cargo fue un poco grosero. le dijo al camarero cuando intentaba encontrar una mesa disponible para nosotros a pesar de que habíamos reservado "pégalos en la mesa XX" en un tono molesto que no nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos. Sin embargo, el personal que nos atendió fue muy amable y trató de hacer que todos se sintieran cómodos en las extrañas nuevas circunstancias.

Pedimos Chips and Wings, Chips llegó después de una larga espera, las alas no llegaron, solo después de que le dijimos al tipo de la caja registradora, dijo que nos lo había ordenado, sin disculpas, eventualmente vinieron. La comida sigue siendo excelente: hamburguesas, pescado y papas fritas, pasteles son excelentes, y las alitas probablemente han mejorado notablemente, pero el menú en general es más variado y de mejor calidad.Todavía me encanta el servicio: es difícil mantener una sensación "local" en un gastropub, pero todos los que trabajan recuerdan a los locales. Fui con un amigo para el almuerzo del domingo, que comenzó mal cuando nos dijeron que no estaríamos sentados en la zona del bar principal, sino arriba, en una habitación muy fría y poco acogedora. Al subir las escaleras noté que el candelabro de la parte superior tenía dos bombillas y otras no funcionaban. Esto fue lo mismo con los dos candelabros en la habitación que se parecía a un bar buffet de la estación de los años 50. ¡Mi pensamiento era "por lo que estamos a punto de recibir"! El bar estaba completamente desprovisto de luz y parecía muy desagradable. El personal era desaliñado y la comida no era buena. Tuve el cordero asado y mi compañero el pollo asado. Mi cordero era pobre; Las únicas cosas buenas en mi plato eran las verduras de raíz, pero no las papas asadas que estaban duras y frías. No voy a ir de nuevo!

The plan was to enjoy a peaceful Saturday afternoon drink. No chance. Tiny children running around screaming and the parents appearing to think this is acceptable. No, it isn't. Have the courtesy to be more considerate. I would never ever have allowed my children to do that. And the yappy dog? Why are these customers allowed to remain inside the pub? Again, no consideration for others. And the 'peace' was further shattered by a kid's party taking place above our heads. Really???Thankfully, there are other pubs in Highgate which are very close, no screaming toddlers, yappy dogs or kids parties. Teona, Eoin and team laid on a magnificent Christmas dinner for our little parish church choir down the road tonight at really competitive rates. We were given a wonderful table in the end alcove upstairs - laden with silver - crackers, fairy lights and good company - and had a splendid selection of food and drink, including a vegan Kashmiri curry, roast turkey and trimmings in a delicious jus, steak or haddock miso, followed by Christmas pudding, chocolate torte or a delicious cheeseboard. The preparation and evening were beautifully done, very professional, and the staff working withTeona were extremely kind toour little choir outing! We had a great time and hope to do it again next year. Well done and happy Christmas!

We read some of the terrible reviews about this pub and also the pretty obviously bogus glowing reviews as well so it was with some trepidation we joined our family in the private dining area for a birthday lunch. So I have to stick up for The Bull - we had a very nice meal. The staff were indeed very young but they were efficient and helpful and coped admirably with our large group. The food is not restaurant quality but for a hearty home cooked pub roast it was tasty and generous.

Down in London for my birthday, wanted to focus on the beers on offer and this pub was spot on in that the Gorgeous Brewery sits behind the Bull and its beers are available at the bar. Very good they are to! But so was the food, which was tasty, and reasonably priced for this part of the U.K.The staff contributed to this being a lovely evening by being helpful, friendly, and courteous throughout. Loved this pub and hope to return next time we are down in London.

Terrible food, overpriced too which rubs salt in the wound (though the salt could have helped the taste of the food)

Food can vary from great to ok depending on chef. Good range of beers. Long serving staff are great. Decent outside areas
