Well judged menu, very good food and availability of drinks.

A reunion lunch. The Builders gets more gentrified day by day, but the staff are efficient and the food is interesting.

The pub was among others that had been suggested to me, so it was chance that I went. It was a good choice: Really nice welcome, good service and good food. The piece of cod for my fish and chips was one large piece, and the appel crumble dessert was good. And I did not have to choose between ice cream and custard - I got both. And I like the beer too

We came across this pub a year ago wandering around Kensington with family and had drinks. We saw food being delivered to other patrons and it looked good so decided next time we were in the vicinity to have the sunday roast. What an utter disappointment. This wasn't a roast but a thinly veiled 3 slices of what looked like a steak that was virtually impossible to cut with the knives available. Even with steak knives it would have been a challenge. The root vegetable were undercooked, the yorkshire pudding passable, the optional cauliflower the highlight (although we were overcharged for this). Staff are friendly enough and the bitter tested fresh from the pump even at this early hour. What is it about London pubs that they all seem to claim they have the best sunday roast in town. This was the second worst sunday roast we have experienced in London. Way overpriced to boot. Has anyone ever been to a carvery in Yorkshire?

Came here with family had some drinks and some sharers. Food, service, atmosphere was above and beyond. Our waiter, Max, was charming and was attentive to our needs, making sure our orders were good and food was to our liking. Will defo be coming back

A nice pub close to where we were staying. Really good service from young friendly staff. We had some tapas sharing plates and several pints. Table service and running a tab was good. The big airy space gives it less of a pub atmosphere and verging more towards restaurant, but we enjoyed it and would return particularly since they serve real cask ales and not just stuff straight out of a pump

Waiters attention was the best we had in recent memory. Everyone was super friendly. At the builders arms, we were a king and a queen.

This place was absolutely gorgeous. Even though it was a pub. I love it. The atmosphere was great. The food was so incredible. I got the chicken Milanese with the salad and fries. So delicious. My fiancé got the fish and chips fish cooked to perfection. If I were to travel back to. London, this would be be my go to place.

I brought here my 3 girlfriend visiting London for a first time, we were looking for a place that serves fish and chips so they could try it. This pub was an excellent choice! Not only the food was super tasty (we had a fish and chips and a sunday roast with chicken, both excellent), but the service was exceptional, our waiter - Charlie was so super friendly and accommodating, we loved it. I will be definitely coming back,amazing place!

Friendly bartender and staff at this lively location made for a pleasurable solo dining experience. The pan roasted cod was outstanding! Well seasoned, light, and perfectly cooked, it sat on lovely, small potatoes that I smashed with my fork to absorb everything bit of garlicky goodness pooling under the greens. There were nice wine options, too. I was there at the tail end of dinner time, and lots of folks were gathering inside and out, having cocktails, wine, and beer with friends. If I lived nearby, I would go often!

Outside area is spacious in a quiet street. Staff were great especially Viola - really helped us select the best of the menu. Topped off this awesome lunch from an exceptional menu with a perfectly balanced espresso martini from Jack. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Thanks Builders Arms, I’ll be back soon!!

What a hidden diamond. I originally visited with just the intention to have a pint of Hawkstone Beer. Well I quickly discovered the pub is so much more with its fantastic atmosphere and welcoming decor and brilliant and attentive staff (Arash, Stevie, Ollie) and that's before you even get a chance to dine from a fantastic menu that provides a range of wholesome and great tasting food options that easily beats any restaurant standard of food I have ever eaten in London. If you are a true beer drinker you must try the Stiegl Beer - it's unbelievable to taste and drink. I absolutely love the menu choice of being able to order a whole chicken and plate of vegetables to share between at least 2 fully grown adults. In fact I think you could feed a young family of 2 adults and at least one small child on the amount of food provided on the serving plate.

Great experience. I was looking for a decent Sunday lunch in Kensington before a visit to the Proms. The Builders Arms didn't disappoint. We opted for the sharing roast, which was a great idea. All the Meats were cooked beautifully, loads of roasts and vegetables this probably could easily look after 3 people. Desserts were also lovely, especially the Sticky Toffee pudding. Drinks were very well priced, and they have wines on Coravin, so you don't have to have a whole bottle to have the good stuff. The beer and cider wise it is well stocked. The service throughout was brilliant especially our server Max, an absolute gent and brilliant at his job. Next time we are visiting Ken, we shall certainly return

Definitely could be better. The service was nice, the pub is pretty.. But the food was a bit bland, scallops were rubbery and overcooked, but the sticky toffee was awful; it tasted very microwaved. We wouldn't go back.

Fantastic special lunch fish dish

Splendid!! We came for Sunday lunch today after a morning Prom Concert at the Albert Hall - delicious food and drink, lovely ambience (music not too loud, thank you!) and nicely attentive (but not over-attentive!) staff. My roast beef was so flavoursome and served with a great array of vegetables. The lemon tart was exceptional. Above all (and this is something no money can buy) we left feeling content - well-fed, well-watered, well-looked-after and just generally happy with the world. Highly recommended.

Holiday trip. We found this place via Google Maps and relied on the good reviews. Excellent Fish & Chips and equally delicious beer and good service too. Recommended!

One of my favourite gastro pubs in SW. Great food, solid selection of beer, wine and drinks, and the atmosphere is very nice. Great pitstop for a cold refreshment.

I had Sunday roast and a glass of great wine and my husband had seafood appetizers and a pint. They were absolutely packed, but the manager found us a little table, so we could stay for dinner as planned without reservations. One of our best experiences during our London vacation and right up the street from our flat.

Visited twice on a stay locally. Nice vibes, good range of drinks, friendly staff... Food looked very good too ... Sadly, we'd planned other things already.

Arrived 45 minutes early for 12:45 booking and had no trouble being sat or staff being put out because we were early. We received excellent service and the food was top notch! We came specifically to try the Sunday roast, fish & chips, and sticky toffee pudding. So delicious!

Great menu, beers and service. We made a reservation and there was a nice ‘reserved’ note on our table with flowers. My wife absolutely loved the fish and chips too! I got the chicken/pork pie and it also quite good. The mash were superb as were the peas (I’m from the states!). Great selection of drafts too. Staff were quite pleasant and helpful too!

We are so grateful to have found this incredible pub near our hotel when visiting London last month! They were very busy but made room for us and we had the absolute best fish and chips of our lives there!

Just discovered this great spot in Kensington. Friendly staff, great food, drinks and lovely atmosphere. A hidden gem.

Bar staff were exceptional and friendly. The outdoor courtyard was great, the only thing that could be better would be if it caught the afternoon/evening sun which is what we wanted but didn’t realise the aspect as it was our first time.

Awesome local pub. Full of character (and characters) and nice welcoming atmosphere. Half-decent beer and not overly pricey. Well worth popping in. Highly recommended.

Great local...with a buzzing atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff: turned up for a pint, decided to eat - no tables available, but 5 mins later the staff came to find me to get me seated. Had a burger with a Doombar and both excellent. Will definitely be back.

We enjoyed an excellent beer-battered fresh Atlantic haddock with chips and then timperley rhubarb & apple crumble with vanilla crème anglaise. We like this pub very much.

Sunday roast - 3oz of thinly sliced beef sirloin, ok veg and potatoes — gravy was the best part of the plate. Yorkshire pudding was an inedible dried up flying disc that patrons were not touching.

We popped in for lunch with friends visiting from overseas - they loved it! The pub is modern and spacious, the food is good and the staff are absolutely lovely. We had our little dog with us and they immediately brought over a bowl of water for him and service was attentive and friendly. Would definitely go back next time we're in the area.

Fantastic place, I ate very well, the staff were very friendly. The best fish and chips I've ever had in London. There were 2 of us and we took these two dishes: the typical fish and chips and a lightly smoked cod. Both delicate dishes, the fish with a crunchy and not at all oily batter. I would stay here again!

Stopped in for a few drinks and some shareables. Food and drink were great but Miguel provided exceptional service. He even secured the last chicken skewer for us which was delicious and much appreciated.

Great service. As tourists e we were unsure whether to order at table or bar, hosts were very understanding and accommodating. I’m not the foremost authority on fish and cops but this was very good. Told it was Haddock not Cod with a nice light beer batter fry. We came in for a quick meal but it appeared to be semi local as there were lots of families. Friendly atmosphere, good food, what more could you ask for.

Lovely location of Kensington high street. Excellent service but food was not up to standard. Plain and uninspiring with a small quantity of veg and one type left the plate lacking colour or variety.

Fairly modern interior and a modern style pub. Decent beer selection. Good service. Tried a scotch egg and it was very well made and seemed perfectly freshly made. Enjoyable visit.

Nice place to go. We had a private function and where upstairs. Food was good but the service was not friendly at all. They seemed more annoyed that we are there than enjoying what they do. So the all in one experience was not good.
