Super Pub , Amazing food , Great service

More than you can expect from a bar. Great food (selection and taste), great service.

Delicious food, fish and chips and also cod fish were delicious.

Excellent staff and excellent beer. Couple of ales for cask ale fans, plenty of other choices. Only had a snack but it was great.

Absolutely superb pub. Fantastic food. My only criticism is that there was no apple sauce available with the pork and no English mustard for the beef. They had also run out of cheese.

I'm loathed to say (as this pub is a gem and its charm is that it is a traditional pub, which means you aren't being distracted by five hundred TV's, epilectic inducing fruit machines and all the usual tack that you find these days), by leaving this review about how amazing it is, by doing so it will possibly become inundated with thousands more people!! Great service, super friendly staff, fab food...a proper pub! Everyone really makes your stay enjoyable and you don't want to leave! Hidden away in the back streets of Kensington, it's a real find!! We're from the States and are very meticulous about everything especially when it comes to dining out - Danni catered for us and she should get a special mention.

The food was very tasty, and the service was excellent. One of the best meals we've had in a long time. Don't think there is anything to improve on.

For some bizarre reason this pub seems to have an image that is almost exactly the opposite of the reality. The food I’ve eaten there is genuinely revolting, the crowd are almost exclusively inhibited types who turn into grime artists after a shandy and loud comically dumb students from the local American college. Even the beer is nothing special. On the upside there is a real fire and there are dog bowls which I assumed were for the clientele since I’ve never seen a dog stupid enough to visit.

We had a group lunch with our dogs after Christmas jumper corgi parade. The lunch was set up in the function room and we were very comfortable. Food and service were very good. We will definitely come back.

Three of us came for Sunday Roast. We made reservations and were seated upon arrival. Service was very good. The food was outstanding. Dog friendly, too. We got to meet Libby.

A better and improved food experience is required along with more attentive staff and soap in the toilets

We had the Sunday brunch. The vibe was a bit off, not buzzy. Maybe it’s lack of music. The food was also not great - eg the beef wasn’t tender. Just not tasty.

We loved this restaurant! The food was amazing, especially the classic Fish n' Chips, served in a gourmet way, the burger was amazing. Booking ahead is a good idea as it gets busy quickly. The service was alright - friendly and fast with our meals, although we had to remind them a few times about our dessert order. Overall, although the price can be a little bit high, we recommend visiting for a taste of classic London. 🍽

You couldn’t fault the food and the atmosphere, however I didn’t appreciate been told I only have half an hour to scoff my food and basically get the hell out as they had another booking for four at the table. Furthermore, as soon as I finished i had waitress come to my table and say you’ve got ten minutes, with a bit of attitude I might add..not happy,, compliments to the chef though,, I appreciate they go by a booking system but as newbie I was unaware. they should never have offered me a table in the first place. Not an enjoyable time. They are lucky I’m giving them three stars and that’s for the chef!!

Unplanned walk around Kensington found us close to the pub. Nicely decorated, layout a bit cramped, so assume food is a key offering. Sadly no real ale available, ended up with a pint of craft beer, had one and left.

Another wonderful afternoon/evening at the festive and cosy Builders Arms. Great pint of Guinness combined with top service and delicious food.

We went for Sunday roast lunch to Builder’s Arms. The ambience was really good, however as we were right next to the door we requested for a change. The veggie roast was made of nut and tasted pretty good. We also got the apple and gooseberry crumble, which was very different and you definitely need to have a liking for gooseberry to like it.

The best pub in Kensington. Away from main streets, great beer selection, food is amazing and the ambient its nice and friendly.

We’ve been several times and always enjoy the atmosphere, it’s popularity is the only reason I could fault it, as it can be difficult to find a spot to sit

The food was tasty and well presented bu the menu is rather limited. Dani was very helpful and efficient as were the bar and other waiting staff.

The best mushy Peas I've had in ages! Service was perfect. The restaurant was full, yet the waitress was able to seat us, which was so much appreciated. Thank you again for the wonderful service and great food!

We were here two times during our stay in London and we were so blown away by the food especially the fish and chips are marvelous. Combined with a super nice staff which got us a table for 2 during a busy evening with lots of reservations the pub is a delightful place. Huge recommendation!

I’ve been to the Builders Arms a few times but was really disappointed this time around. My friend and I ordered halloumi fries to share. When they arrived, the chilli jam accompaniment was missing. When we finally managed to get the waitress’ attention, she explained that they had run out but neglected to tell us from the start. For mains, I had the roast beef while my friend ordered the burger. The roast was lukewarm and the cut of beef was generous in portion but very tough, overcooked and chewy. Roast potatoes were cooked well. Service was sporadic and even though it wasn’t that busy, we found it hard trying t get the waitress’ attention. All in all, a disappointing experience.

Great nite put with the gang great food and company

Fantastic service from Jack and Jesse, really helpful with allergies, kind and efficient service! They managed to seat a group of four of us with very little notice on a busy Friday evening, which was very much appreciated, really went above and beyond. The food was delicious, atmosphere was absolutely perfect, and we'll definitely be coming back again.

We came across this great little pub by accident this evening and we’re so glad that we did. The staff were really friendly and attentive, especially Jack who couldn’t have dealt with my Mum’s nut allergy any better. The pub itself was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the food was delicious. Would 100% recommend.

We are traveling from the USA and stopped in for a beer and dinner and it was a bit crowded. Our waitress Dani was Amazing! She made sure that we were seated quickly and taken care of. Being a very popular pub with the locals we had no idea that a reservation was needed but thanks to Dani we were welcomed in and seated. Thank You Dani and everyone working for a very memorable experience that we will never forget.

Experienced the same thing at Windsor Castle last year. You walk in to what you thought was a pub only to be met by someone acting as Front of House. Have you booked? I thought it was a pub? You can sit at the bar was the abrupt reply. Another couple sat at a table that had been ‘reserved’ They were given short shrift. Others went outside. Really not a friendly atmosphere or a local pub.

We stopped by with an exhausted two year old and were welcomed in without even a second thought. Very nice cozy yet modern and friendly. Some pubs are hard to navigate with a little one, but there were actually a few others there as well. Food was amazing, and the staff was very helpful, welcoming, and friendly. Do not pass up the sourdough bread! We also had the smoked salmon and the ribeye. Everything was very tasty.

NOT RECOMMENDED TO GO THERE AT ALL!!!! So unprofessional management. Walked in and ordered drink and snack. 4 tables were free and i sit one of them. Then bartender advised with his colleague told me that it is reserved. But there was not any note on tables at all. At the same time there was couple waiting to be sited. They took them to the table where i was sitting. Then i changed my table. In the middle of my drink they brought paper with handwriting that table is reserved at 16:30. And exactly at that time another stuff came to kick me out as referring the note that table was reserved. When i came in and sit there was not any sign or anything on tables! So ridicules behaviour and literally no management at all!! Plus im neighbour and coming to this pub nearly every week. NOT RECOMMENDED TO GO THERE AT ALL!!!!

Such a lovely friendly, relaxed feel to this cosy pub with good service and great food. Sunday lunch with family and the roasts were ace, superbly cooked steak and scrumptious puds. Thoroughly recommend.

Food was excellent and I think Sunday roasts are really hard to get right. The beef was delicious, tender and perfectly cooked. Two people in of our party had the sharing platter and I think that dish in particular represented really good value. The service was efficient and friendly. Really couldn’t fault anything with the food or service. The wine by the glass was pretty expensive and that stopped us ordering more but that might just be London prices now.

We had pre booked a table but when we arrived the table was still occupied and we had to wait 15 minutes before we were seated. The staff were friendly enough. The food we ordered arrived quite quickly despite the pub being very busy. All of the food we ordered was very nice. The pub is very noisy, so if you want something a bit quieter this may not be for you (personally I like a lively atmosphere) Would I go again? Yes definitely, if I was in the area I would not hesitate to have lunch there.

Great atmosphere! A true taste of London! The Calamari and Mac & cheese were the best we have had while traveling through 3 countries. Was the perfect ending to our trip! Definitely a locals hang out! The service was on point and very nice! Lots of great drink options as well!

This is a beautiful pub with playful and colorful decor and a really elevated pub menu (you'll find the classics but kicked up a notch). They recently underwent some renovations, but I hadn't visited before so I can't comment on the changes, but we really enjoyed our experience here. The fish and chips was excellent. No complaints whatsoever. The food across the board (from what I heard from the others) was that everyone was really happy with their selections. Service was friendly, but restrained. We didn't see our server for a while and had to flag him down (after waiting quite a bit) to finally pay. I feel like this is kind of the norm in London (and other parts of Europe), but we were in good company chatting it up so it wasn't a huge deal. Just something to be aware of. Regardless, I'd happily recommend it, especially if you're staying in Kensington.

Very nice pub to have a typical Sunday Roast and I’m sure any other dish! I had the vegetarian roast and it was absolutely delightful! Also, the service was really professional. Nicely located in the Kensington neighborhood. Definitely recommend!

Visited here for a meal. Would not recommend coming on a Saturday evening if you don't like a very loud environment. I imagine it's quieter with a more relaxed atmosphere earlier in the day. Diners were sat amongst those who were only having drinks, so given how full the bar area was, it felt a bit hectic and we struggled to get the attention of staff - they were nice but there was a lot of waiting around for someone to take our order and payment. Had high hopes for fish and chips based on positive reviews, but overall they were alright. Expected more quality at £18 each - batter was a little oily and chips were similar to those from a supermarket. Mushy peas and tartare sauce tasty though.

The Builders Arms on Kensington Court Place is a friendly welcoming pub with an exciting looking menu and a good offering of cask and keg beers. Excellent service and a hidden treat upstairs, the extra bar looking sumptuous. A delightful pub.

Great find away from the hustle and bustle. Super crispy hot triple cooked chips and a great beer selection.
