Mike's Cafe in Kensington and Chelsea

Very rude wait staff! They brought our bill to the table without us asking for it right after we finished our meal, we felt really rushed. The prices weren’t matching in the menu and the bill, when I asked them about it they were quite condescending and non-apologetic as if I asked for something wrong. Would not recommend, they only want your quick buck.

A charming place since inside it has a map where they put photos of different people from around the world that they found pleasant. The food is good but not crazy for those prices Avocado toast bacon (a little dry) and an egg £15 Here and in Beijing it seems a bit exorbitant to be a piece of cake. They have been nice, but they have sent us out quickly, which is understandable on the other hand.

Still appreciate the existence of Mike's in the ever changing landscape of Notting Hill. That said had not been for a while and was astonished to see the full English Breakfast coming in at £18, though tea, coffee included. That a great British institution is now a treat rather than a lifestyle is slightly depressing. I will visit again but in a more measured way.

Fabulous place. Somewhat hidden, unknown at least to me and I'm in the neighborhood, a real gem of a place. Great food (breakfasts for us), brilliant ambiance, a wait (10mins) but absolutely worth it and the service..... Fast, friendly, professional and like home somehow. A neighbourhood feel and it's like they know everyone. They probably do. No pictures yet but I'll get some next time. Not only will I go back I plan on going 100 times. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s out of 5.

Yes visit this cafe, food is fantastic and serine was memorable. Tasha was amazing, so friendly. Ordered the Forest breakfast with truffle oil on the side (as I am not a fan). Great choice

I phoned to enquire about availability and if there are any veggie options and the team member I spoke to answered my first query and before I could ask the next said they need to go because they are busy. The servie was poor. I certainly won't be visiting this restaurant now.

Stumbled across this cute place on our way to the Chelsea game. Absolutely delicious breakfast, had the big boy and the pancake. We were welcomed by the most friendly staff, and the atmosphere was homey. Coffee was fantastic, and gotta have to say that they have the best English breakfast in London. The pancake was amazing, huge portion and a lot of fresh fruits and berries. The price was fair (15-20£) for the amount of food you got. Would definitely recommend this place, we will come back next time we’re in London.

Nice traditional English breakfast in heart of Notting Hill. A bit of chaos in the morning is quite amusing. Good service, honest food, would certainly return here.

A comida é boa, por isso ganhou pontos comigo, mas os funcionários foram rudes, esperamos de 5 a 10 minutos no frio, o que não teria problema se quando acabamos de comer nao tivessemos quase sido expulsas do restaurante, porque já haviamos terminado… outras 3 meninas também foram tratadas muito mal, haviam mesas livres e sem fila, não precisavam ter nos tratado assim.

Back to Mike’s for the first time in a couple of years just as good as I remembered. I do like it here and if you’re in Notting Hill and want a good hearty meal that I recommend Mikes to you

I love Mikes. It’s hands down one of the best breakfasts in London. The staff are always 100% on the job. We go a lot on a Sunday after a night out always helps the hangover. The Big Bot breakfast are the best. The fresh orange juice is amazing and their coffee is high quality and strong. No matter how busy it gets the staff at Mikes are always friendly and helpful. Never rush or hassle you and try there hardest to accommodate anything you need.

Great breakfast at Mike’s on 12/29. Enjoyed their English Breakfast. Others in my party had the pancakes, sausage, create your list with bubble and squeak, eggs Benedict, fresh squeezed OJ - all our food and drinks were delicious. The great Google reviews from previous diners was spot on. Highly recommend Mike’s for both the food and great service. Will definitely look to come back here for another meal on our next trip to London.

My local favourite! From the cosy fireplace to oudoor tables overlooking Notting Hill market the ambiance is lovely. I always find staff,especially Zaneta and owners helpful and attentive. The food is great, I'm enjoying the freshly squeezed orange juice and you can always get a little treat when paying your bill.

Looking for a full English Breakfast? This is the place for that and many other great and delicious choices. Service was phenomenal and staff were extremely friendly.

Traditional English breakfast is on the top of my list and Mike's cafe fulfilled my wish with great tasting food and top notch service - welcoming, friendly and attentive. We tried the Traditional English Breakfast and Make your own with Tea options and the food was delicious and quickly delivered. It was packed but seats were becoming available quickly helping hungry folks feed on the good food. Must visit if you are in the Nottinghill area.

Very welcoming cafe, had marshmellows next to a open fire to toast. Good way with people sharing tables etc. Food was served quickly and good value for money

Service was really efficient in this busy cafe that I gather is a bit of a London/Notting Hill institution. I ordered gammon with eggs and bubble and squeak. The gammon was great - very succulent. Eggs cooked well, but the bubble and squeak was a little bit loose and underseasoned. The full breakfast was delicious with the hash browns in particular being the highlight. Really friendly staff were a credit to the place

Absolutely great. I had full English and it was perfect. Fresh, hot and plenty on the plate. Mrs had French toast with fruit. Service was super friendly and prices reasonable for London. I'll always aim here when nearby. Well done Mike 👏

Great menu lots of choice. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The food was really tasty, I enjoyed the bubble and squeak.. Really good cup of tea. We enjoyed the music. Would highly recommend and plan to visit again soon.

Breakfast on a cool Saturday morning, enjoying a cup of flat coffee while watching people queuing to take photos at the Notting Hill Bookshop. What a great start to the day! 😋

Found this fabulous cafe via a Google search and it did not disappoint! Service was warm, friendly and helpful. My daughter and I shared the Big Boy breakfast which is the best cooked breakfast we have ever had! Mike’s has a great relaxed and friendly atmosphere with lots of locals and tourists too. Will definitely visit here again!

The pancake was not so good despite the popularity but the eggs were great, both veggie english breakfast and salmon avocado and eggs.

I arrived in London today and the first order of business was having my first Full English Breakfast. The concierge recommended Mike's Cafe and it did not disappoint! Great job!

Très bon brunch. J'ai adoré le yogourt grec aux fruits frais... très copieux ! Et à la différence d'autres endroits, le yogourt est onctueux et agréable et il y en a une bonne quantité ! Ailleurs, il y a souvent plus de granola que de yaourt. Il y a beaucoup de fruits, servi avec un jus d'orange maison et un latte ! Très belle surprise 🥰

Dined here for lunch on Sunday. Really enjoyed the food and fresh blood orange juice. I’d recommend sitting outside if it’s busy though, unfortunately we were seated right by the cashier/kitchen and it was very hectic due to the busyness of the day (which is of course good for business), but made our experience and service feel rushed. Overall, I’d come back but aim for an off-peak time :)

Racism and Overcompensation We are an Asian Australian family of four and dined at Mike’s for lunch. When it came time to order I ordered on behalf of my family as two of us were using the restroom. Whilst taking orders, the woman serving us—who appeared to be a part-owner of the cafe—asked me in a flippant tone: “I take it you are the spokesperson for the family? Do the rest of them not speak English?” I assured her we all hold a native command of English. Thence, the woman leaned over to my sister to take an order from her to test if she could indeed speak English. After completing the order, I handed the menus back to her and with a smile said again: “English is our mother tongue.” This is when the comedy started. The next 30 minutes was textbook overcompensation. Every five minutes (!) we were asked if everything was alright, and if we needed anything. This was not observed of any other table around us. “Would you like balsamic vinegar with your chips?” “Would you like olive oil for the chips? “Hot sauce for the chips?” My answer was no to all the above; as an aside—I am not aware of any place, proximate or antipodean, where chips are dipped in balsamic vinegar or olive oil! I was thus most bemused when the balsamic and olive oil were brought over a few minutes later anyway. At the end of the meal we were also given four lollipops with the bill tab, again something I did not observe of any other table. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Mike’s not because of the food but rather because how entertaining I found the whole experience once I made hinted to the woman that her line of questioning was inappropriate. For presumably experienced professionals in the business, I would expect that they understand that such behaviour would not be palatable to most diners. So just as we left behind the bottles of balsamic and olive oil and the lollipops, I leave here the following words to the owners: I cannot aggregate your hospitable (but ultimately unnecessary) overcompensation with your preceding decorum, and you will be held to account in public fora.

Very cute brunch restaurant located conveniently across the notting hill book store! The atmosphere was fantastic and lively, recommend sitting outside to feel the ambiance at its fullest. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommend getting their freshly squeezed orange juice, especially if they have blood oranges for the day. So delicious!

Excellent service and fast. BUT expensive £62 for two people! I ordered pancakes 🥞 and it came with a generous portion of fruit. The package itself was just OK coffeewas nice though. I am still in the hunt of the dream, fluffy, juicy, and tasty pancakes.

Super pikantes Rührei, sehr zu empfehlen!

Ein schönes, kleines Restaurant etwas abseits der viel befahrenen Straßen. Sieht schön und gepflegt aus, die Bedienung ist super freundlich und Hilfsbereit und die Portionen sind groß zum mehr als fairen Preis. Es ist nicht einer von diesen mit Touristen überfüllten Läden, sondern echt angenehm. Insgesamt ein echter Geheimtipp für die echte und einzig wahre kulinarische Englanderfahrung.

Excellent English full breakfast. One of the best meals of our London trip. DH even tried the black sausage and loved it!! Very conscious about food allergies as my son is allergic to dairy and wheat. Generous portions and good price. Full breakfast was $15.99...

Good, solid choice for Notting Hill. Had the full English breakfast (not bad) and the bagels with lox (excellent). The place is a bit hectic - wait in line and they’ll eventually sort it out.

This cafe is just around the corner from where we stayed and we had a great breakfast this morning with really great service. The staff were so friendly and accomodating and the food was tasty, and well prepared. We’ll definitely be back if we stay in this area again!

Fantastic English breakfast, fast service, friendly staff and "only good vibes". 👍 I recommend wholeheartedly. I just wish it hadn't been so busy so I could have sat outside too! Perfect place and no wonder the reviews are so positive! 100% deserves this, thank you.

Make this your default breakfast destination if you are in the area. Fabulous menu covering all eventualities. I had the Mediterranean breakfast which was a full plate of halloumi cheese, peppers mushrooms eggs spinach etc. My friend had gammon poached eggs mushrooms tomatoes homemade bubble...

The food was wonderful but the service wasn’t. There appeared to be a lot of staff running round and shouting at each other but no actual work being done. My meal arrived 30 mins after my friends received there’s and we had to ask for the bill 6 times before anyone brought it over.

Super Lage genau gegenüber dem berühmten Nottinghill Bookshop. Schöne Speisekarte mit diversen Varianten von pochierten Eiern. Nur: Eier gab es nur als Rühr- oder Spiegelei. Konnte der Koch nicht pochieren? Ansonsten alles lecker, Service engagiert, Preis auch ok.

Mike's is a great breakfast right in the middle of the crazy Portobello Market. Excellent food, diverse menu. Good coffee. Very busy. Outside tables available.

I’m giving this an extra star because the place is nice as are the staff. However, the food was extremely disappointing! For the price the ingredients are very low quality, and so it’s like going to a really cheap builders cafe with fancy plates. To top it off I couldn’t even eat the bubble and squeak because it was so burnt it tasted of charcoal. Overall a place to avoid!

Lying in the heart of Notting Hill, this cafe featured a great array of food on its menu and offered great outdoor dining tables (some shaded, some night) to enjoy the food! I had the eggs Benedict which I must say was pretty great other than being a little cold. 🥰 I also had an iced mocha which was served in a cute mason jar and was delicious but arrived a little while after the food… The only let down to this delightful experience was having to ask for the bill 3 times over a lengthy period of time before it was actually brought over
