Worst meal ever. Eating pasta with just soggy noodles and a bad sauce makes me feel sick. The fish and chips weren't bad, but they weren't great either.

Here we had the BEST breakfast of the entire city trip! Lively, lively restaurant with a lot going on: the orange juice press is running, the portafilter machine is steaming, guests are chatting at every table, you can hear tinkling from the kitchen - all of this is super friendly and fits the store. I liked the fact that grandma sits in the kitchen and watches closely what's going on. A needy person also came with a carer and took the leftover food with them, it's great that Mike's Cafe is committed to fighting food waste. If you're in Notting Hill, definitely plan a break here - it's worth it!

Excellent full english breakfast in charming surroundings in Notting Hill. The waitress/hostess was warm-hearted, and we felt really welcome. A few locals/regulars ensured, that it was the right place for a good breakfast.

Small expensive portions. Used to come here a couple years ago for the "doorstop" french toast. You used to get 2 thick delicious slices, now you get 1 thin slice of bread. Fruit was lovely and fresh but bread was just okay. Very cheap to make but cost me £17. Latte for £4 I can just about fathom but not syrup for an extra £1! Full english was nice but again quite a small portion, at least you get a coffee included. Staff seemed nice. We won't be back unfortunately.

Lots of people, no privacy, sitting at a table with strangers, just a quick meal and the next one goes. It works there like on the belt. The food is nothing special, we went there according to the reviews, but I don't recommend it. The food is average, the English breakfast I ate here was the worst, but the price is like a luxury dinner.

Locale veramente molto carino. Abbiamo ordinato sia la English breakfast classica accompagnata da té o caffé, sia una colazione dolce con Yogurt, granola, frutta, caffé e spremuta d'arancia. The prices are extremely high given the quality of the food, not to mention £7 for a glass of orange juice. The staff never seemed to be organised and quite snappy whenever you tried to ask a question. There are definitely much better places less than a 5 min walk away.

A pancake with fruit cost €26, which is outrageous, I suppose for being in front of the most famous bookstore in Notting Hill. There is a line if you arrive later than 10.

Mike’s has a very nice atmosphere and a cool interior design. Outside, there were heaters for the tables by the door, and tables that weren't served by these heaters had thick blankets on the chairs. The service is fairly quick and the staff are really nice. For £20 I got a big breakfast, hot chocolate, and orange juice; which is great value, especially for London, and the food was really good quality, the drinks were great and the complimentary lollipop when you order the bill was a nice touch. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Notting Hill area

Nice place and food but VERY RUDE people The concept of « service » has been forgotten over the years (I have been to this place for 8 years now)

We went for breakfast yesterday following the good reviews and it was a real disappointment. Benedict sauce from a jar, flavorless dish. We paid 40 pounds for two coffees with milk in a glass glass like in the bar in my city and two plates of hard-boiled eggs with bottled sauce. I left there thinking that because we were tourists they had deceived us.

Everything perfect. The waitress was nice, got us a table quickly and we loved our time in this cafe.

What an amazing place to brunch! Everything from pancakes to sausages to yogourt was delicious. Service was fast and we felt totaly welcomed. And the place is nice as well. Don't hesitate to stop there!

Never a bad meal. Fabulous place. Somewhat discreetly a "local" place off a very busy tourist street, unknown to me and I'm in the neighborhood, a real gem of a place. Great food (breakfasts for us), brilliant ambiance, a wait sometimes but absolutely worth it and the service..... Fast, friendly, professional and like home somehow. A neighbourhood feel and it's like they know everyone. They probably do. Not only will I go back I plan on going 100 times. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s out of 5.

Just had a really nice Full English here. Lovely interior and atmosphere. Sadly, the server seemed to have issues with me being a solo diner, taking a while to take my order, and - untypical for England - generally was a bit off-ish with me. Observing other guest, they seemed more deserving of a greeting and a smile. A shame really.

Good breakfast and great service

On a side road from Portobello Road, nice for a quieter break from the busy market on a glorious Saturday. We sat outside as it was sunny. Inside seemed a bit dark and crowded. We had the smoked salmon, avocado and eggs on sourdough, all good just a bit pricey at £18 each plus £4 coffee. Service a bit touch and go.

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy a traditional British breakfast located in front of the Notting Hill Bookstore. There may be a wait, but the staff responded quickly so we were able to be seated without having to wait long. The English full breakfast menu was simple but very satisfying, and the homemade lasagna was delicious. When dining outdoors, having a view of the Notting Hill Bookstore is a plus! The price is a bit expensive, but it is reasonable compared to the quality.

Great place to get a full English breakfast in Notting Hill. Fun atmosphere, delicious food and the waitresses were super cool and accommodating, I highly recommend!

A bit inconsistent. On good days 5⭐️ all around. 3.5⭐️ on bad. More expensive than many places around here but the portions are huge. Gammon ham & eggs (front) The Mediterranean (rear) Every little thing is done well here, stir fried peppers, mushrooms, crispy and yolky fried eggs. Hash browns are golden and crispy. (You may wonder how one could get these things wrong, but a lot and most of the breakfast/brunch places are mediocre and underwhelming and I often feel I wish I had cooked it myself at home. ) Oat latte was nice too. Amercicano was so much better, I think they must be using good coffee beans. If you’re lucky, you might spot the “Mike”, he walks around like he owns the place (he does) looking like a gangster. If you are very lucky, he might come over and say hello, share a story or two.

We visited at about 11am on a Saturday. The cafe was very busy but we were seated very quickly. The staff were very attentive and our order was taken without delay. The drinks and food followed shortly after. A very efficient & well organised operation! The food was great too. Would definitely recommend!

I wanted to express my deep disappointment with the behavior of your staff during my recent visit. Unfortunately, I found their conduct to be extremely unprofessional and disheartening. From the moment I arrived, one staff member in particular was judgmental and passive-aggressive. Their facial expressions conveyed rudeness and a lack of basic courtesy, making me feel judged and extremely uncomfortable. Such behavior is not only unacceptable but also tarnishes the reputation of your establishment which otherwise looked quite nice.

My husband and I had such a marvelous breakfast at Mike's cafe, we went back the next day! I adore their spicy eggs - scrambled eggs with feta, sun-dried tomatoes, rocket, and pickled jalapeños over sour dough bread. Day #1, husband had a yogurt, fruit, granola bowl. And Day #2, their vegan pancakes with strawberries, blueberries, bananas. We ate our lovely breakfast outside & watched the world go by. Absolutely recommend this hidden gem!

Great selection of breakfast dishes and good portion sizes. Vegetarians will be fine but vegans will struggle here, which is slightly disappointing. The eggs were overdone for one of the dishes too (it happens, no big deal but just all adds up). This combined with some pretty steep prices means it’s still a solid spot but depending on your needs, it may not be for you. The Mediterranean breakfast was the best thing we had!

Food was average, do not order coffee - dreadful filter. They brought the dish with specific ingredients not taken out (red chillis) and they waitresses took a long time to check if customers were happy that I got my dish replaced after 15 mins of waiting. Desperately to get another coffee elsewhere, we had to wait longer for the receipt that customers next to our table left without ordering. I wouldn't bring my friends here again for weekend brunching as it’s overrated cos of its prime location - Westbourne Grove is your best bet.

Great coffee!!! We advise you to arrive quite early because after 12:15 p.m., there is a queue. The dishes are plentiful, the products are fresh and of good quality The welcome is very warm. The servers take the time to advise you and explain the dishes to you. There are vegetarian options that are just as good. We had a lovely time! If you are in the area you can go there with your eyes closed

Effective full English breakfast: plentiful and good. Located opposite the bookstore where Nothing Hill was filmed....spectacular wandering of the curious guaranteed!!! Nice staff. As an added bonus, you can make your own plate with the different breakfast ingredients, perfect for those with allergies, those with small appetites, children, etc.

Fantastic breakfast this morning. ThIs place had been recommended to me and didn't disapoint. I had the full English (Big Boy) food is top quality, huge portion and delicious. The staff are really friendly too, the service was excellent. I can't wait to go back.

We wanted a traditional English breakfast, we got it! Nice atmosphere, copious dishes 😁 We had a great time! The tradition of the house: you roast your marshmallow on the fireplace before leaving, and there, you're fully up 😅🤣

Very rude wait staff! They brought our bill to the table without us asking for it right after we finished our meal, we felt really rushed. The prices weren’t matching in the menu and the bill, when I asked them about it they were quite condescending and non-apologetic as if I asked for something wrong. Would not recommend, they only want your quick buck.

A charming place since inside it has a map where they put photos of different people from around the world that they found pleasant. The food is good but not crazy for those prices Avocado toast bacon (a little dry) and an egg £15 Here and in Beijing it seems a bit exorbitant to be a piece of cake. They have been nice, but they have sent us out quickly, which is understandable on the other hand.

A chill and cozy place with amazing customer service. Food is quite pricey though.

Still appreciate the existence of Mike's in the ever changing landscape of Notting Hill. That said had not been for a while and was astonished to see the full English Breakfast coming in at £18, though tea, coffee included. That a great British institution is now a treat rather than a lifestyle is slightly depressing. I will visit again but in a more measured way.
