The Bugle Inn in Eastleigh

I was looking for somewhere for an evening meal. Went here and remembered I had been here before (2023 - good on that occasion as well). Place was very quite on a Tuesday night, but still serving food. Looked at the menu (lots of choice) and went for the beef fajitas. Was asked how I would like the meat cooked. Did not wait long for food to come to table and it was a really large meal, beef with peppers and onions and 3 wraps (as well as sour cream, gucamole and salsa). Really tasty meat and vegetables, the meal was great and very filling. Got this meal and a pint of lager for less than £22.00

Very enjoyable lunch , we both had the chicken fajitas ( one of which was GF) and shared side orders of chips and coleslaw . The portion size was well worth the money and the food was piping hot ! The staff were very attentive and friendly , particularly Hannah who served us . We plan to come back at a later date for Sunday lunch . Highly recommend

We visted for the Sunday carvery lunch. There were 20 in the party. The food and the service were fantastic. Every single one of us said we wouldn't hesitate to recommend the bugle inn. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed

Popped in today for a Sunday roast. There was a great selection of meats and vegetables,all delicious. Staff were very friendly, also the chef took the time for a chat. Overall great atmosphere and will be returning very soon. Highly recommend

The food and service here is always amazing!

Nice area and nice big building and location . But a bit of an odd experience and alot of gossip from the boss and others I felt more like Eastenders. The boss bragging about his affair with the cleaning staff who's married, wasn't something we needed to know. A bit tastless and unnecessary. It took away from the experience and food, which is very nearly average. I think it won't take much to improve and may be better if less busy . An improvement could be to serve food on plates that aren't as hot as I burnt my finger , plates were overly hot as this doesn't happen usually. Small thing to correct though .

Had lunch in this lovely pub after a local club walk. The staff are friendly, welcoming and the food was good too. Would use again

I have eaten here before and food is always good. This time I decided to try the rump steak. I was surprised how good it was. Tasty,tender and cooked medium as requested. The mushrooms were great, not at all greasy and very tasty, onion rings were crisp. Chips were nicely cooked and so many I couldn't manage them all. My companions had a variety of dishes and all enjoyed their choice. Service was friendly and efficient. Price is great too.

Only had a drink, it just felt soulless. To many tables shoved in to be pleasing on the eye. Good value and friendly staff though.

Just popped in for a few drinks on our way to a hotel in Shedfield area. Lovely flowers and surroundings. Handy shops for last minute bits.

An excellent visit, spacious room, very comfortable bed. Superb service, we stayed a Sat. night, when there was a function in the restaurant, so ate in the bar. A busy Sat. yet the service was still excellent by very friendly staff. We can thoroughly recommend the Bugle.

Best I've known this pub in years

Brilliant. Friendly greeting from bar staff on arrival .Ordered the chicken bacon and avocado salad with a side of sweet potato fries. It was gorgeous Huge helping,nicely arranged,tasty dressing and hot chicken.Fries were hot and tasty. Well done chef.

We popped in for a quick bite and had an enjoyable evening. Service was great, really friendly and attentive. The food was of a high standard and portions generous. Will return.

Lovely location right in the mddle of Botley village. We only had drinks & the real ale was the best we'd tried in the area, however still yet to try others.....

We came for tea here as a family of 4 with 2 young children after visiting paultons park. The staff were so warm and welcoming. The menu is absolutely fantastic, such a variety of things to eat and top quality food! The kids menu is very good value and a really good choice too. I wish this pub was a closer to home as I think we would be there a lot more!!

Great little pub, dog friendly. Lots of choices on the menu. I only wish they had some spicy sauce available like peri-peri or hot sauce as I like that with my food. Service is excellent and very welcoming. I’d return soon.

Engelse pub met stamgasten maar ook gastvrijheid en goed eten. TV gaat aan als er voetbal op is, ons kent ons, maar je voelt je er als buitenstaander ook welkom. Traditionele Engelse gerechten op de kaart zoals de Pie die ik had.

I live near the Bugle but had never been there until recently. What a delightful experience! The staff were so welcoming, and the food was great. I highly recommend the Fish Platter - it was delicious and such good value. Also the pub is very dog friendly, providing a snack and water for my pups without me having to ask, and we were thoughtfully seated in a quiet area. The bar has a lovely friendly vibe, and I can’t wait to go back 😊

We went there for Sunday lunch on Mother's day. It was really busy as mother's day but this did not hinder the service at all. The staff had everything so organised, the carvery was done in tables so there weren't big queues, staff were so friendly and helpful and most of all the food was delicious! Would thoroughly recommend The Bugle Inn!!!

Checked out the menu & pricing online, came out tops compared to nearby competition. Menu choice was excellant, service was superb, food quality good & portions generous. Free parking across the road. Will most definatley be going there again!

Went for the carvery on a Sunday. Arrived 15 minutes before Sunday roast finished, food was piping hot and probably one of the best roasts I’ve eaten in a very long time. Staff excellent and friendly

We arrived at 13:30 without a booking, but they managed to squeeze us in. We both had the carvery roast dinner which was fabulous and left us no room for dessert. Will certainly be going there for Sunday lunch again.

Google Maps thinks I want to review the rooms in the hotel but I want to review the pub. I had heard good things about the food; this pub has changed hands frequently over the past 20 years, even being closed for awhile. My wife and I went for lunch today, 1st March 2024. We arrived about 1.30 and there were plenty of tables. The staff were friendly and welcoming. (The only slight drawback was we had to wait to catch their attention both to order dessert and to ask for the bill but we were in no rush.) My wife had cottage pie and I had steak and ale pie. Both were excellent and served piping hot. For dessert, my wife had ice cream and I had the chocolate and caramel cake, which was really, really good. Bonus: 25% off main meals for over 65s Monday through Friday, except Bank Holidays.

8 of us ate here for an 80th birthday. We all really enjoyed our meals & the service was friendly. Would definitely recommend eating here

Popped in today for the Sunday roast and i must say it was delicious. Great choice of meats and all the vegetables cooked to perfection! This local pub has taken on a new lease of life under the new management, we'll be back next weekend, thoroughly recommended!

Visited on Sunday just gone. Last minuet decision after a walk and so glad this is where we ended up. Every single member of staff was so friendly and welcoming. Carvery was lush. Will recommend it in the future. :)

Lovely atmosphere, friendly, warm, efficient with plentiful well cooked food. We have eaten here often and always found the same good quality food, attentive staff and friendly, warm atmosphere. We hadn't taken our little dog today so the owner kindly gave us a takeaway box of turkey pieces for her. That's what I call a personal service 😊

OMG what a surprise. Having not been to The Bugle for many many years what a pleasant surprise. The food was delicious, portion sizes are very generous. Great price too for what we had. Will Def to return, for a carvery next time. Pleasant staff, they handled a medical emergency perfectly, hopefully the gentleman was ok with the paramedics.

Had the Sunday carvery, food was great, I had roast gammon, the service was excellent. Log fire was going strong and Christmas lights on. The pub felt lovely. Well worth a visit.

We stayed overnight with the dog in the en suite room. Very friendly staff and locals, great freshly cooked food, well kept beer and endless dog treats. Free parking just down the road. Useful place to stay when working nearby and much better (and cheaper)...

First visit here, absolutely fantastic. I eat a keto diet (low carb) and the landlady went out of her way with suggestions, even preparing special one off meals for me. The rest of the family were amazed at the tasty freshly home prepared and cooked...

This was in August 2021. We were pleased that the pub was serving food. However it all seemed to be swimming in cooking oil / fat. Maybe someone was in charge who was doing their best but didn't know what to do.

We were a party of 9 for a special birthday (although had not alerted pub to this). Four other establishments refused to book parties of more than 8 quoting, covid, lack of staff, head office stipulation. They wouldn't consider table rearrangement despite 3 weeks notice....

Visited The Bugle in Botley tonight for a meal and some drinks. What a revelation!! A fantastic welcome from the manageress and attentive service from her daughter who was waitressing - she was cute as a button and made us feel very much at home. Good food, good atmosphere and can’t wait to hear Lil perform when the karaoke evenings start up!!Will definitely be back soon.

Shocked by some of the reviews on here, especially with no pics to share info. so i wanted to give ours. We came here last Tuesday night 27th October for dinner at 7.30pm . There was two other tables in for food. . We was served by a polite man called Nathan, who wore a face shield as required. He also checked we had signed in on the NHS app and brought the qr code to the table, he was also on the bar, so juggling a bit and did well we thought to remember and be attentive..The Starters, mains and puds were tasty, well sized and served hot. We did have to have the bill adjusted due to a incorrect drinks chaege, but this was a easy thing to correct. Our server did have to keep prompting other customers to use masks when moving, I think this was down to just general forgetting, as they was drinking. I saw tables being cleaned In a timeley manner, and sanitized appropriately by the staff which was good to witness.The bugle is not a chain pub and I think this is where people.are confused with the menu and prices. Also the dolphin is a chain so the menu and food is the same in the other locals we usually eat at. I for one was very happy with the food as detailed in the menu and happy with the prices, especially as the meat is from a high quality local.butchers Owtons and.fresh local veg from The Hut. This is detailed and highlighted on their Facebook page, which attracted us to eat there in the first place..I do think some of these reviews are fake as they don't match up to our recent visit at all. Very unfair and shows poor businessmanship.We shall return Bugle. I have my sights set on trying the creme.brulee next.

We didn't find The Bugle Inn in Botley particularly friendly or attentive to us, we left as no one was interested in taking an order for food, also there were some locals in the dog friendly bar side of the pub who were swearing quite a lot, one to avoid if you have kids, maybe!( stayed overnight on a Tuesday and unfortunately the higher rated pub The Dolphin is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays)

manager treated staff like dirt, the woman was really rude. Ordered a roast however was way overpriced for what it was. It was too loud and drinks was overpriced too. Luckily the lovely waitresses were lovley and helped as much as they could. Booked a table but someone was already sat in it when we got there, very unprofessional. Shame as we used to love this place but ever since it’s gone under new management it’s gone seriously downhill - DONT GO HERE

We booked a table for 7pm and the bar staff were confused as to what table. The place was packed and it immediately felt uncomfortable with the latest Covid rules.We waited 20 minutes to place a drink order the girl who came to our table couldn’t tell us what was on draught, so we donned masks to go and have a look, squeezing our way through too many tables.We placed our order and waited....and waited. Eventually one of our 4 went to the bar to see if there was a problem. The girl then returned saying she was so busy she hadn’t forgotten our order so she took it again.Then one of the pints of Prava was flat, we got it replaced, drank our drinks and left.We retreated to the dolphin where we had booked a table for 8.30pm, arriving at 8 we were met pleasantly and given our table in perfect controlled Covid friendly environment.Give the Bugle a miss, go to the Dolphin.

Tenemos la suerte de haber visitado muchos pubs, restaurantes, locales de alojamiento desde el cierre y TODOS fueron responsables de las pautas de Covid en torno a sus propiedades. El sábado visitamos un pub local, las pautas eran simples: "Ponte la máscara y siéntate sin máscara". El Bugle en Botley hoy fue todo lo contrario, fue terrible. Había un grupo de 8 en la habitación trasera caminando por el pub e incluso detrás de la barra no había una máscara a la vista. Era evidente que eran bien conocidos por el personal o incluso podrían haber sido miembros del personal.Un completo desprecio por las pautas sociales y el uso de máscaras en un lugar público.Controle y haga cumplir las pautas, ya que está poniendo en riesgo a todos los clientes, no volveremos.

He estado en el Bugle Inn varias veces y cada ocasión ha sido completamente agradable.Los propietarios, el gerente, el chef y el personal son personas realmente agradables, conversadores y ansiosos por hacerte sentir bienvenido y como en casa.La comida es de alta calidad y muy sabrosa, ¡el chef realmente hace un esfuerzo adicional!Buena selección de bebidas.El edificio es maravillosamente antiguo, bien mantenido y muy limpio, una experiencia muy relajante.Magníficas precauciones de higiene y COVID.Hay mucho estacionamiento gratuito al otro lado de la carretera, en caso de que las bahías afuera estén llenas.¡Vale la pena un viaje especial!También hay mucho que ver en Botley y el área local.¡Recomiendo encarecidamente el Bugle Inn!

Comimos bistec sirlion, venía con unas ramitas de berro encima, media chalota, un tazón de patatas fritas y un dedal lleno de salsa por la costosa suma de 24. 50. por persona.Porque decía ensalada de berros esperaba más que una ramita de berros.Pedimos un medio raro y el otro medio, estaba muy azul, estaba frío y les pedí que lo cocinaran un poco más.Solo una porción de papas fritas llegó a la mesa y no salsas. Tuvimos que pedir patatas fritas y salsas.Nuestra tercera fiesta es pescatarion y la elección fue muy, muy mala. Solo había un pez de elección y nada más.Las chicas que servían eran muy educadas y amables, pero no tenían ningún conocimiento o comprensión del menú y ni siquiera sabían cuál era uno de los platos cuando lo preguntamos.Cuando llegó la factura, las 2 comidas de filetes tenían un precio de 30. 50 en lugar de 24, 50En general, fue una experiencia muy decepcionante, ya que mi hermano y mi cuñada habían viajado 130 millas para visitarme y, por supuesto, debido al covid no los había visto desde febrero.No recomendaré este pub a ninguno de mis amigos o familiares y no volveré a visitarlo, lo cual es una pena, ya que antes del covid era un local encantador.Podríamos haber ido a Miller & Carter y comimos bistec, ensalada, papas fritas, pan de cebolla y salsa para 21. 50.Al final del día, The Bugle es un pub con comida de pub y esto debería reflejarse en los precios, especialmente con el menú.

Bueno, volvimos a ver cómo era. Se ve increíble, pero hay un gran problema: las mujeres que trabajan allí, ella usaba malas palabras en cada oración, no tenían ni la más remota idea de lo que estaba vendiendo cada vez que iba a tomar un trago, estaba sentada por un comportamiento grosero y poco profesional. Realmente triste, ya que este lugar con los nuevos propietarios puede tener un buen futuro, definitivamente no es la adecuada para el pub y mis amigos y yo no volveremos. espero que la gente vea esto

Segunda opción para una cena dominical en Botley, ya que la primera estaba cerrada porque no había cocinero. Quedé satisfecho con nuestra alternativa ya que las cenas eran apetitosas y satisfactorias. Todo el personal parecía ser muy joven pero muy amable y eficiente. El Inn estaba muy tranquilo, posiblemente debido al clima o al hecho de que llegamos temprano.

Randomly stopped yesterday for a drink, friendly Landlord and staff so went back for food which didn't disappoint. Good variety of food, decent size portions which were hot and very tasty. Lovely atmosphere.

Nice little pub. Food is ok but everytime we have been the wine had been warm even though been in fridge. Not really acceptable. Even asked before ordering I asked if wine was cold and told it's been in fridge. Ice literally melted within a minute they we put in.

Been past this pub 100 times but was starving last night and decided to stop!! Quite busy but lots of tables and very welcoming. I didn’t think it was that cosy but we went for the food!!Had the mussels which were very yummy but also a lot of butter in the sauce! And I had the burger which was nice. The food was good. I will stop again but will try other places first. Staff were very good and very friendly.

Stayed here in September and had a lovely stay with an amazing breakfast. Came again for dinner recently and the food was outstanding. Would highly recommend.

We used to frequent the bugle quite a lot but it started to go downhill so when we heard new owners took over we thought give them a go phoned to book a table said they were busy the night and time we wanted to book which was ok because it was near Christmas said phone me back well they phoned me the next day about 12pm and said could we come at seven again that was ok arrived at ten to seven a bit of a wait as there was only one person behind the bar ordered drinks at bar the waited for waiter to come and take our orders a group of seven in front of us waiter was very good made doublely sure of our order a bit of a wait for our starters but again food is prepared fresh so we expected and it does state on the menu about the wait starters were good slight wait for mains but worth waiting for two mixed grills two chicken Supremes one burger and one pie all very good tasty and more than enough no one had a dessert very good slight down fall a bit noisy but it's near Christmas all round can recomend the bugle

Ran into this place by accident. It's in the Botley village near the other other merchants. Very quaint and feels like you're a regular there. Staff is amazing. Ordered the fish and chips. Excellent choice. Best we've ever had.

I've been to this establishment quite a lot recently and it's fast becoming a favourite. The staff are very friendly, the food is reasonably priced all home cooked good portions and absolutely wonderful.

Este fue el lugar para la estela de mi cuñado. La calidez de la posada y el personal, la comida encantadora y el ambiente acogedor hicieron que esta ocasión celebrara una vida bien vivida. Este pub se ha mantenido como un auténtico pub británico desde la primera vez que lo visité, probablemente hace 40 años. El propietario y la señora actuales son personas encantadoras y el personal comparte su calidez y buen humor. No hace falta decir que las bebidas eran excelentes, al igual que el catering. ¡Gracias a Dios que todavía tenemos lugares reales como este para ir cuando más los necesitamos!

Four of us went for a lunch today and wow were we pleased. The landlady was a very genial host. The main courses were beautifully cooked, served hot on hot plates. The deserts were also a delight. Very reasonably priced and we will visit again.

Celebramos una fiesta de cumpleaños número 70 en el encantador conservatorio. Lorraine y Paul y el personal no pudieron hacer lo suficiente por nosotros. Proporcionaron una cena asada para 16 personas, carne sabrosa y muchas verduras deliciosas, todas cortadas deliciosas y calientes. Best Bit no nos apuraron, pudimos tomar nuestro tiempo y disfrutar del día.

lovely little pub! good food, friendly staff. wasn’t overly in love with my food 👎🏼but the others enjoyed theirs. I had macoroni cheese, it was very runny. drinks were expensive too but tasted good!

We have visited this lovely local pub many times for lunch and dinner on different occasions. Lorraine and Paul are just the nicest people and fantastic hosts. We love their Sunday roasts and when it’s Jazz Sunday, even better! Love this place and mine hosts! Nick and Jacqui.
