I had a fantastic date night at Miller & Carter Southampton! Having worked at another Miller & Carter side for the past 3 years, I know what to expect, and the outstanding service here went above and beyond. Gemma, our server, was exceptional—warm, attentive, and always smiling, which made the evening so enjoyable. Huge thanks to Nick, the grill chef, for perfectly preparing each dish. Highly recommend for a memorable experience!

Food as always top notch! All three steaks cooked differently but each cooked perfectly! So well done Nick! Lisa was brilliant very attentive as a server the right level of friendly and professional. Would very much recommend this location as a place to go for a treat.

Chilled lunch, great service. Restaurant was quiet but outside core eating hours. Very full now.

The service from their staff was very good and the comfort of the restaurant is good too. Not a great selection of beers I have to say. The steaks are good as are the fresh salads and side dishes. It's a pity in the UK there's not a grading system for steaks as there is in the USA, I'm sure if there was the quality of steak in the UK would rise.

The food was wonderful. The service was wonderful. Just don't like the lighting in there. Spotlights are too bright.

M&C Southampton provide good quality food and a friendly environment. It was really busy when we went but we were warmly welcomed by the team. Our server was Izzy and Grill Chef, Mario...a good team. Lizzy was attentive, friendly and helpful. She even gave my dad a dessert to mark his 87th birthday

First time visit and it was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. A 4.45pm reservation. Greeter was fine and showed us to our table with menus. Probably around 10 minutes till our server appeared and took a drinks order, no comments were made about non-available menu items at that time. She returned with our drinks and started taking our order. Literally the first two items we asked for "Spiced Cauliflower Wings" and "Roasted Half Chicken with Chorizo" she advised were no longer available! She then advised that another starter item was also unavailable. Not the servers fault but a pretty poor level of customer service. The food we did eventually select was ok but nothing special, and will probably be our one and only visit to this restaurant.

Lovely food. And good service. Was served by Izzie and food was cooked by Stevie. Izzie was on the ball, and very efficient. Food was could perfectly. We had two sirloin steaks (medium to well done) and a full rack of ribs. The ribs feel off the bone, and the steak was lovely and juicy… Had the cookie dough pie with ice cream for dessert, and as puddings go, it was lovely, and a nice sweet treat! We will be back. ❤️

Only the attitude of the table staff was good. I have visited Southampton on six occasions now and had to return part of my food twice. Last night was a special occasion toped off by bugs in the salad and the ends bruised and not cut off. The steak has always been good however, the final straw and the reason I shall not be returning is that the fillet steaks had no flavour. I could get just as good a meal at any other cheaper establishments.

Dinner was phenomenal. The Butchers block is a fantastic special occasion dining experience and everything was cooked to perfection. Izzy, our waitress, was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and she was very attentive without being pushy or invasive. An absolute credit to the company!

We had Jake as our server and he was absolutely fantastic and extremely knowledgeable on the steaks. I was really impressed watching him work as he had a lot of large parties to serve that night and despite this he was very attentive to us. Thank you, we will be coming back (:

Came out for food with my partner for our anniversary. We had amazing service from Lauren and my steak was cooked to perfection by nick. It was a lovely treat dinner

We’ve eaten here many times before and this was by far the worst experience we’ve had. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful in quickly resolving the issues that arose but what was meant to be a nice birthday celebration out was ruined by not so great food. 6 of us went out to celebrate a birthday and 3 out of the four steaks came out cold after waiting over an hour and a half for mains. They re-did three of the steaks but again they came out not very warm but we got past being hungry after being there over 2 hours at this point without mains not to mention we ate separately and didn’t get to eat as a family. Jake our server couldn’t have been more empathetic. He dealt with the situation as best he could given the circumstances and kept a professional manner the whole time. It’s a shame that the food let them down tonight. We’re paying premium prices for our food so the least we can expect is good food to match. It was clear they were understaffed tonight as an extra pair of hands would have made all the difference. Thanks to Jake we left feeling more satisfied having resolved everything the best he could. Hopefully the food is much better if we come back again.

Fantastic service, great food, we had the roast sharing platter which was really good, the camembert mash was so yummy, you need to try it and put on your list of things to do, will def go again, can't wait, well I can as my stomach still full from 24hrs ago

Been here a few times now. Most times the food has been spot on, good value for money and an excellent range of dishes. Happy to recommend it to anyone. Would have been 5 stars but the second time we went, the service and food were below par. That said, we did go back again and it's always been great since. Great for us a family of 5 with one child being only 6. The rewards card is a nice touch too! Easy to do through the app and you can book a table through it too.

place where you can eat the best meat ever, I recommend the fillet... the only flaw this time was the accommodation... very small table for 6 people. Other than that the service is always excellent

Place was nearly empty, yet they seated us right next to other people (with kids), rather than in another corner of the place to give us more privacy and space... but everything else was really good.

Great service from start to finish Lisa. One of the waitresses. There has been exceptional every time we have been and the food is always great even over a years experience of going there now consistency has been amazing. Amazing meal for my birthday this evening! Lovely warm welcome from the host at the door. Our server Sue was amazing, attentive, chatty and did service with a smile. Steaks were cooked to perfection by grill chef J.P. Big well done to the bar team who made a diseronno blush cocktail for my boyfriend who said it was the best cocktail he has ever had! We had an amazing evening! Highly recommend!

When we arrived at our table it was covered in red petals as it was our wedding anniversary. Food was great and we had a lovely happy anniversary plate with ice cream. Our server was Lauren who very good . Our grill chef was Paul. Overall a great experience.

We had a wonderful family birthday meal this evening and we were blown away by the service and quality of food we had. Sue was a really bubbly, friendly waitress. My mum was 91 today and we all felt the evening couldn’t have gone any better. What a brilliant night!

Fantastic evening the service we received from Sue was exceptional. It was my Mum’s 91st birthday and she made her feel very special. The food that Paul cooked was delicious I can honestly say I have never enjoyed a meal so much.

We were served by Rhian who served us throughout our meal in a warm, friendly, professional manner. She was extremely cheerful and chatty and made the dining experience pleasurable. She really is a credit to the Miller & Carter team. The only negative feedback would be on the lack of enforcement of the the advertised dress code. One example was a male wearing sports shorts, tshirt and trainers! We wouldn't normally expect to see this sort attire when we are out to dinner, paying good money. If there is a dress code it should be enforced, regardless of risking losing that diner. There was clear signage on entering the restaurant reminding diners of the dress code, but if it's not enforced what is the point of such signage?

Altogether staff were friendly enough. Needed air con. Scallops disappointing as the sweetness of the apple sauce failed to offer counterpoint to naturally sweet scallops. Everything else was very good, but the cooky dough pie was excellent.

Beautiful restaurant with a dress code of smart casual/dress to impress. Great sized portions of beautiful food with friendly and attentive staff. A perfect place for celebrations or a romantic evening out. Comfortable seating and spacious. Will be coming back

The food was excellent, as was the table service. However, whilst we waited for our table, we ordered drinks at the bar, where first of all we appeared to be ignored by some staff just chatting with each other. When we did get served, it was painfully slow, having to repeat our 4 drink order a number of times!

Me and my partner visited on Friday 26th July. The food was great as well as the service however we had to wait for an hour for our main meal after finishing our starter due to larger tables being served. There were a few tables like our selves who did not ver served their main meals until at least 9:30pm. I would recommend going on a less busy night as the staff seemed over run and very busy.
