AVOID AVOID. Bort a drink then told to leave because of coughing NO JOKE. Disgusting the bar women gave us our money back and said because we was coughing we had to leave. Was the only customers in first bar area No Sense SHOCKING we dont have covid we rapid test regulare through work joke this was absolutely weird

Great Sammy Smith's pub inside the city walls but off the beaten track. Like stepping back in time there's nothing flashy or trendy about the place. The landlady was really welcoming and happy to chat. Beer was reasonably priced and I doubt you'd find much cheaper that end of town. I'll be heading back before too long I'm sure!!

Lovely pub. Landlady very welcoming, beer is good. This is a quiet out of the way but within the city walls Sam Smith pub. Beer is good and surprisingly cheap being within the walls. Great welcome by staff and locals alike. Closes early ish at 9pm.

If the tenants are struggling to enforce to the dress code/no swearing rules while still actually tempting punters in to spend money I wouldn't be surprised. The management might be interested to learn how this isn't enforced at all at some of city centre pubs across the north Sam Smiths relies on to rake in tonnes of money. I sympathise as clearly a sidestreet pub not on the tourist trail needs local custom and the pub itself has potential. Double standards much...?

Complete joke. No trainers no track suits no hats shut most of the time. Was a good old working class pub in time gone bye but whoever runs it has killed it.. . 😠

Very strict on the no swearing rule which is nice, also no trainers, baseball caps, or hi-vis work tops. The strict rules make it a quiet pub but a very pleasant one to be in.

Excellent clean friendly pub with a cosy warm fire to sit around for a good chat with great pint

It's all keg beer.. walked in and then back out.

A great place for a drink and good banter with the barman and the locals would recommend this place for a nice afternoon out.
