The Brooklyn Cafe in Glasgow City

I love this place apart from the food being fantastic the service was top notch, the atmosphere was relaxed and the surroundings loved it all I would highly recommend coming here and having something to eat.

Well presented range of brunch dishes - but it’s the welcoming and friendly service which makes this such a brilliant wee cafe. The 4 of us visited on a very busy Sunday lunchtime having failed to find a table elsewhere in Shawlands but the queue at the Brooklyn Cafe was efficiently managed. We loved the unexpected but delicious little extras such as homemade sauces. Sid was a star!

always lovely even on a busy sunday (•: my new spinach stack was delicious and Brooklyn is always a win with vegan food for my partner. had a bit of a wait for a table but the staff were lovely and took our order ahead of being sat down so we still felt tended to.

The staff really make the place, Sid is amazing and so welcoming to our baby girl who loves him too! The staff always make a fuss and do their best to make eating out with a little one as easy as possible for us. Food is always really good and we’re always happy to go back!

Such a fabulous Sunday Brunch after the Glasgow Half Marathon! Chilled vibes for a family of 5 , 3 kids happy and really enjoyed their meal. Staff are so friendly and reliable and Special mention to Sid who kept the kids entertained . Taking orders before seated was great and no one had to wait long for their food! Same time next Sunday 👍🏼

I have just been to the Brooklyn cafe for lunch and a coffee. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I had a Panini, which was over £8.00. It came on a plate with no side salad. You can order chips, etc, but that is an extra charge. The food was tasty but well overpriced for what you got as I'm still hungry. I would say my appetite is average.

Sid was the best and kept us entertained throughout our meal. He made Monica’s birthday so special!

service today wasnt the greatest. Waitress with red hair (victoria?) was pretty rude understand its a suñday but a smile wouldnt hurt. on the other hand The waiter serving was pleasant as always 🤝 Food great as always 🤝

Great vibe. Fab staff. Delicious food. We loved this café. Really enjoyed Scottish breakfast and smashed spicy Avocado on Italian toasted bread with poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce. Would definitely go again.

Big group of 7 of us were able to get seated quickly. Sid, the owner, was a very accommodating person and his homemade sauces should be a staple! Many vegetarian options available

Generous portions and lovely coffee. Young man let us sample his homemade hot sauce too, which was a lovely little flourish to an already great meal. We'll be back!

Been a few times and absolutely loved every visit! Vegan menu is the best and service is always fantastic. 9 of us showed up for 2 people's birthdays at peak time and the service was still amazing from everyone, but especially Sid who is just awesome! My favourite place for a brunch even if parking can be a nightmare x

Visit Brooklyn Cafe occasionally and it’s always the same. Food is good enough although a bit on the pricey side. It’s a bit chaotic when busy but that’s understandable. The staff are always friendly and helpful though. I have to say though the attitude of the what I assume is the manager is awful. So unfriendly and makes you feel you are doing something wrong just by being there. I would visit more often but this is what puts me off.

We went for brunch on a Sunday. It was very busy so while we waited Sid gave us menu's to browse. I have never been offered a menu for my wee dog anywhere. What a bonus! The lovely Sid took our orders while we were waiting and as soon as we got a table we were attended to immediately and the food promptly arrived. Two of us had the traditional Scottish breakfast and one had the smoked salmon and eggs. My dog had two sausages from the dog menu and he was one happy pup. The food was good though my bacon was very fatty and the egg small but we scoffed the lot anyway. Maybe some freshness like tomatoes on the plate would enhance it. Overall, the service from Sid and the other servers was excellent, the food decent and it was good value for money. I will be returning.

Great food, lovely friendly staff. Try Sid's jalapeno sauce, it's awesome!! Will be back. Milkshakes are worth coming back for alone.

Big fan of Brooklyn cafe. Was in this week, lovely attentive staff,my breakfast was brilliant 👏. My daughter got a roll n scrambled egg, really let down, it was barely enough egg for the roll and at £5.50 for the roll i was very let down. I would still recommend the cafe but rolls for that price should be at least 2 eggs.

Stopped in for a quick brunch and wasn’t disappointed! Food and coffee was 10/10 no complaints at all The staff were extremely friendly but our server Sid made the experience even better, a real credit to the place!

Really enjoyed breakfast on a sunny outside table. Delicious smoothie and lots of interesting choices on the menu - I ended up ordering a vegan stack which tasted great. Really warm, friendly service - this place has a lovely buzz about it - thank you for an all round excellent experience.

My first visit to the Brooklyn Cafe. I only had a coffee, which was lovely, but my other half had a roll and black pudding. He says it was delicious. I think the name of our server may have been 'Roslyn'... she was attentive, pleasant, very helpful and polite.

The best Toastie I’ve ever consumed in my life. For those seeking a meal that transcends the ordinary and touches the soul, this café is a must-visit. Prepare to be enlightened by the best pulled pork toastie of your life.

Incredible is an understatement. Quick service and lovely staff and the food was amazing complimented by the house sauces which were both 10/10. very happy and will be returning!

My wife and I have been in Glasgow for 2 days on our 4 weeks trip through scotland. We chose to eat at the Brooklyn Café cause of the good reviews on Google. We were lucky to get a table there, the meals were absolutely delicious, the service was superb. We've had haggis on toast with porched eggs french Toast with ham, eggs and cheddar and grilled cheese with chips and a blue cheese dip. The haggis was one of the best i had in whole scotland. We didnt eat Up so we got the rest of the meals packed for Take away. The restaurant ist clean and has nice tables, the chairs are comfy. Just for me personally (cause i am 6.5 feet tall) the tables were a bit to small to eat. Still 5/5 for meals and service. Keep up the good work and thanks for the hospitality. Coming from Germany, we are not used to this. Cheers

With such a vibrant vibe and welcoming service, we're eagerly anticipating our next Sunday morning visit to this lively cafe.

Food was fantastic, the Grilled Cheese sandwich was one of the best I’ve had. Seth and the Girls were very chatty and full of laughs whilst being attentive without being overbearing. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back

We have ordered delivery before but this was our first time dining in and we will definitely be back! Sid was excellent, very friendly and amazing with both dogs we had with us. Also great options on the menu for them! Service was very quick. Sophie was great, very attentive. Plates cleared quickly. We didn’t feel rushed to leave once finished eating either.

A hidden gem in Shawlands, brilliant freshly cooked food at a decent price, Staff are super friendly and efficient. Our server was a really funny guy who chatted away and didn't rush us. Panini was lovely and I recommend the Tatter Tots they are banging 💥💥👌Cappuccino with oatmilk was great, This place was buzzing on a Wednesday lunchtime, Will definately be back 👍 - returned on 3rd May had lunch it was as good as ever

Absolutely fantastic cafe! Me and my partner come here regular and everything from the food, service and atmosphere is brilliant. We had a wonderful waiter yesterday called Sid who couldn’t have done enough for us - he even let us try some sauces he had made which were so delicious that he gave us samples to take home! Really went above and beyond for us and it didn’t go unnoticed. A fantastic place that we are grateful to have on our doorstep :)

Visited here for the second time a few weeks ago after a fantastic visit a few years ago. Came for brunch and it was absolutely incredible. Great food, nice service and decent pricing. Will always have it on the list when visiting Glasgow!

Good brunch place and a decent size, managed to grab a table after being turned away by a smaller spot nearby. Decent options and sized menu, although a bit pricey for what you get, food took a while and coffees were long gone by the time it arrived.

Only popped in for a tea and a panini tea was great big mugs and the food was great to will need to come back soon try out your big breakfast staff where lovely too .

Treat for mother's day. Really busy so only down side was feeling a little rushed because of the queue to get in. Other than that, the foods delicious and beautifully presented and staff are all really lovely.

Having tried about every brunch place in shawalnds, I can see this becoming our new weekend breakfast spot! Amazingly friendly and fast service, really good grub at decent prices. They're super kid friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. The owner/manager was so kind and chatty even though the place was mobbed, as was our waitress. We had the Spanish eggs and the haggis yorkies- both delicious! Only a couple of small comments- the coffee wasn't great (but I'm a self confessed coffee snob 🤣) and the cookies were really expensive compared to the rest of the food (though very tasty). I also have a pet peeve when places clear empty plates before the whole table is done, but maybe that's just me!

Really friendly welcome as a group of 5 looking for brunch on a Saturday lunchtime , and no booking . Sid was super helpful getting us a table , even took our order before we sat down ! Rita who served us was great too . Great menu , coffee fab !

Love it here. Cajun panini is incredible. Perfectly located for a walk round the shops or round Queen’s Park.

Pannini’s were cold, curly fries were cold , normal fries had coldsaw, on chips .. cheap cheese , just in all poor.. driver was moving about in area , lost but not once did he reply etc …….. thank you for your reply, I understand the situation and really all Uber eats say it’s not their problem, I’d like to come and try food at cafe , but in this case I had 2 hungry grandsons , wanting food .. ..so had to get it delivered

Served by Sid who was warm, welcoming and full of banter. Rita was also one of our servers who was also helpful and welcoming. The food was amazing with fast service and reasonably priced.

We had Sid as our waiter and he made us feel very welcomed and at home, he’s got a lovely energy about him and brought a few laughs to the table, the atmosphere inside it beautiful and the food was fast to come out, beautifully presented and very tasty.

Absolutely love this cafe for brunch in the southside!! I love the minestrone soup, but the vegan breakfast is another fav. The atmosphere is always lovely, as is the food and drink, but one of the best things about the place has to be the staff. Big shoutout to Sid especially who is SO helpful and friendly. Try his homemade hot sauce if you get a chance. Many thanks and will be back soon.

Incredible cafe. I brought my dog, Mabel - her first ever cafe experience - the experienced, friendly staff were outstanding. My friend and I enjoyed a hot drink each whilst Mabel was treated to a doggie menu and lots of attention from dog-loving staff! A lovely cafe, gorgeous environment. Although we didn't eat, I heard someone say "this food is amazing" so expect you'd get an amazing bite too. Sid is incredible - both with humans and pups! I want to move in. My new happy place.

This cafe is a must try in Shawlands! They have a wide set of really tasty food which varies base on customer's preferences. I recommend trying the curly fries and their French toast, my all time favorite.

The Brooklyn Cafe is the perfect spot for your weekend brunch, lunch or just coffee. The staff are so welcoming and friendly- especially towards our dogs (who were provided with their own dog menu)!! Their main menu has loads of delicious options to choose from- I highly recommend the pulled pork tater tots. And their specialty coffees are too good to miss out on!!

A family-owned Southside institution. We have been coming for years to Brooklyn Cafe. They do simple, honest dishes that fill your stomach and make you happy. Unpretentious food and lovely service. We especially like the grilled cheese sandwiches. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure of ours. They have recently updated their menu and added some healthier options, which is great. We tried the salmon salad and were very happy. Our friend had the vegan sandwich and thought it was one of the best sandwiches he has ever had (he is from San Francisco, so probably not that easy to please). Keep it going, Brooklyn Cafe!

Despite the many cafe’s popping up in Shawlands and thereabouts, Brooklyn Cafe remains my favourite & by far the best in the area. Food has never disappointed and staff are always very friendly and welcoming.

Just had amazing brunch. Staff were so warm and welcoming, and even had wee treats for our toddler. Manager is great, so friendly and the food was brilliant.

Excellent service from the minute we entered until leaving. Staff were so attentive, especially our server Olivia, even treating our 2 four legged pups to the best service! Food was fab as always and overall atmosphere was great to be in.

This place is just fabulous. Sid went above and beyond and genuinely the best host I’ve ever experienced. Can’t wait to return.
