The Brooklyn Cafe in Glasgow City

Absolutely fantastic cafe! Me and my partner come here regular and everything from the food, service and atmosphere is brilliant. We had a wonderful waiter yesterday called Sid who couldn’t have done enough for us - he even let us try some sauces he had made which were so delicious that he gave us samples to take home! Really went above and beyond for us and it didn’t go unnoticed. A fantastic place that we are grateful to have on our doorstep :)

Visited here for the second time a few weeks ago after a fantastic visit a few years ago. Came for brunch and it was absolutely incredible. Great food, nice service and decent pricing. Will always have it on the list when visiting Glasgow!

Amazing brunch! Great atmosphere, big portions with vegan options and homemade sauces, dog friendly downstairs (doggy menu included) and friendly and communicative staff.

Lovely cafe, food was delicious, staff were so friendly and accommodating. Dog friendly too which is always a bonus.

Good brunch place and a decent size, managed to grab a table after being turned away by a smaller spot nearby. Decent options and sized menu, although a bit pricey for what you get, food took a while and coffees were long gone by the time it arrived.

Only popped in for a tea and a panini tea was great big mugs and the food was great to will need to come back soon try out your big breakfast staff where lovely too .

Love this place! I'm a picky vegetarian and cannot fault the food at all. Service is fantastic, really quick and organised. My new favourite for breakfast/brunch

Having tried about every brunch place in shawalnds, I can see this becoming our new weekend breakfast spot! Amazingly friendly and fast service, really good grub at decent prices. They're super kid friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. The owner/manager was so kind and chatty even though the place was mobbed, as was our waitress. We had the Spanish eggs and the haggis yorkies- both delicious! Only a couple of small comments- the coffee wasn't great (but I'm a self confessed coffee snob 🤣) and the cookies were really expensive compared to the rest of the food (though very tasty). I also have a pet peeve when places clear empty plates before the whole table is done, but maybe that's just me!

Treat for mother's day. Really busy so only down side was feeling a little rushed because of the queue to get in. Other than that, the foods delicious and beautifully presented and staff are all really lovely.

Really friendly welcome as a group of 5 looking for brunch on a Saturday lunchtime , and no booking . Sid was super helpful getting us a table , even took our order before we sat down ! Rita who served us was great too . Great menu , coffee fab !

Love it here. Cajun panini is incredible. Perfectly located for a walk round the shops or round Queen’s Park.

Pannini’s were cold, curly fries were cold , normal fries had coldsaw, on chips .. cheap cheese , just in all poor.. driver was moving about in area , lost but not once did he reply etc …….. thank you for your reply, I understand the situation and really all Uber eats say it’s not their problem, I’d like to come and try food at cafe , but in this case I had 2 hungry grandsons , wanting food .. ..so had to get it delivered

Served by Sid who was warm, welcoming and full of banter. Rita was also one of our servers who was also helpful and welcoming. The food was amazing with fast service and reasonably priced.

Food was lovely, staff excellent and super attentive! Very accommodating for our 6 month old.

Very polite staff and clear with wait times. Took our order quickly. Food was delicious avacado has lime tang which was fun. Do takeaway boxes if you can’t finish. Dog friendly

We had Sid as our waiter and he made us feel very welcomed and at home, he’s got a lovely energy about him and brought a few laughs to the table, the atmosphere inside it beautiful and the food was fast to come out, beautifully presented and very tasty.

Sid is the man. Loved everything I had on the big Brooklyn breakfast. But the hot chocolate with the works is outstanding and blew me away. Can’t wait to come back.

Incredible cafe. I brought my dog, Mabel - her first ever cafe experience - the experienced, friendly staff were outstanding. My friend and I enjoyed a hot drink each whilst Mabel was treated to a doggie menu and lots of attention from dog-loving staff! A lovely cafe, gorgeous environment. Although we didn't eat, I heard someone say "this food is amazing" so expect you'd get an amazing bite too. Sid is incredible - both with humans and pups! I want to move in. My new happy place.

Absolutely love this cafe for brunch in the southside!! I love the minestrone soup, but the vegan breakfast is another fav. The atmosphere is always lovely, as is the food and drink, but one of the best things about the place has to be the staff. Big shoutout to Sid especially who is SO helpful and friendly. Try his homemade hot sauce if you get a chance. Many thanks and will be back soon.

This cafe is a must try in Shawlands! They have a wide set of really tasty food which varies base on customer's preferences. I recommend trying the curly fries and their French toast, my all time favorite.

A family-owned Southside institution. We have been coming for years to Brooklyn Cafe. They do simple, honest dishes that fill your stomach and make you happy. Unpretentious food and lovely service. We especially like the grilled cheese sandwiches. It's a bit of a guilty pleasure of ours. They have recently updated their menu and added some healthier options, which is great. We tried the salmon salad and were very happy. Our friend had the vegan sandwich and thought it was one of the best sandwiches he has ever had (he is from San Francisco, so probably not that easy to please). Keep it going, Brooklyn Cafe!

The Brooklyn Cafe is the perfect spot for your weekend brunch, lunch or just coffee. The staff are so welcoming and friendly- especially towards our dogs (who were provided with their own dog menu)!! Their main menu has loads of delicious options to choose from- I highly recommend the pulled pork tater tots. And their specialty coffees are too good to miss out on!!

Despite the many cafe’s popping up in Shawlands and thereabouts, Brooklyn Cafe remains my favourite & by far the best in the area. Food has never disappointed and staff are always very friendly and welcoming.

Excellent service from the minute we entered until leaving. Staff were so attentive, especially our server Olivia, even treating our 2 four legged pups to the best service! Food was fab as always and overall atmosphere was great to be in.

Good food, although when we went it was very noisy and a challenge to converse. The table was annoyingly wonky/uneven. The waitress was hard working, fast and attentive. Will go back, worth trying out for yourself.

Having been living abroad for 7 years, I beelined for my vegan Scottish fry up at the Brooklyn Cafe. The meal itself is the vegan fry up perfection I remember it being and the service was incredible! We had such a lovely time and left with smiles on our faces and our bellies full! Thank you so much! Our waitress Kenna was wonderful and Sid really made us smile! Thank you thank you 🌻🤍

I have been going to the brooklyn cafe for many years and have always found it a very good experience however I was there 5 days ago and that wasn't the case, we ordered 2 breakfast rolls which were horrible, the coffees were cold and all very over priced, £18 40 in total, we were offered more coffees and rolls which my partner did take another roll as the first one wasn't edible, I decided not to bother as was put off by the first. The waitress was lovely and did her best to rectify things and the service was friendly but feel the place could do with a makeover especially the toilets as not great.

Amazing lunch as always. Has become a favourite dog friendly cafe of ours Food is always gorgeous - the chorizo grilled cheese is my favourite. Always so good with the dog. Ellie was a fab server as was Sid, hilarious as always. Will be back again and again

Great food and coffee. The service is nice but they seem to push you out the door soon as you finish your meal, always looking over (in an unsubtle way) or asking if you want anything else. Sometimes from different waiters repeatedly asking after eachother.

Still a great coffee in this place using a mix of robusta and arabica which most don't do..so it gives the coffee more body with the robusta. Tried most coffee shops all over Glasgow last 1 year and this is still one of my top 5 or so... 5 star !

Brooklyn is our very favourite place for breakfast. Service is always friendly and efficient and the food is always great. It's where we take friends when we want them to love south side life as much as we do. Thanks lots!

A hidden gem in Shawlands, brilliant freshly cooked food at a decent price, Staff are super friendly and efficient. Our server was a really funny guy who chatted away and didn't rush us. Panini was lovely and I recommend the Tatter Tots they are banging 💥💥👌Cappuccino with oatmilk was great, This place was buzzing on a Wednesday lunchtime, Will definately be back 👍

ordered from uber eats and got a haggis and black pudding grilled cheese and my mum got a bbq pulled pork grilled cheese. hers was nice but mine was oily af and had a disgusting aftertaste, my mum agreed. and it was CERTAINLY not worth £25 but plus delivery makes it £32

had a lovely time sitting in the outdoor seating out front. our server laura was so nice and got us bigger table which was amazing because the food sizes are massive. such good value for money and such good scran!! would recommend the banoffee french toast and the kinder bueno milkshake, they were class. 10/10 will be returning!
