The Brooklyn Cafe in Glasgow City

Had a fabulous experience yesterday! Everything was perfect. Some of the best service in a long time, the staff are all lovely. Portion size & quality great! Coffee was amazing as well. We'll definitely be back, thanks for an amazing birthday brunch experience!

Had a wonderful brunch at brooklyn cafe, not only was the food super tasty, the service was exceptional. All the staff are very welcoming and friendly, a special mention to Sid who was a delight to chat to and made a special effort to make us feel right at home.

Been a few times now and the food and service is second to none, Sid was fantastic with our 2 daughters giving them stickers, sweets and even showing some magic tricks! They love it there.

Egg on roll was roasting - scolded the roof of my mouth and skin came off and blistered. This was my first time and I know it's a local treasure so will probably be back... Will just let my roll sit for a while first though 😅 better too hot than cold I guess

Food was delicious, amazing flavours. Especially the New Yorker bagel and buffalo chicken grilled sandwich which had very generous portions! Staff were lovely, especially Sid. Had a laugh, I couldn't recommend any more.

Great little find in the south side that is dog friendly! Plenty space, they absolutely love dogs and give them biscuits! Food was so tasty as well and great price. Highly recommend. Second time visiting here - first time only ordered coffee which also was perfect!

Patrick was an absolute delight, king of an upsale and you won’t be disappointed with his recommendations! Very kind and attentive. Best staff in Glasgow, and easily the coolest menu in the area for sure, even one for dogs! Get the irn bru chilli jam it’s insane 🔥🔥

Not been in years. Staff were very nice. Cafe is nice and in a good location. My gripe is a cup of tea and a fatty bacon roll cost £9. How can they justify £6 for a bacon roll and £3 for a teabag and hot water? If I could have given zero stars for food I would have. Suffice to say no tip left. Here's a tip though. Don't rip your customers off. It will be many years before I return again. Please don't bother with your usual lengthy attempt at justifying the cost by describing in detail the source of your ingredients. It was a bacon roll. Simple as it comes. I stand by my review no matter how you may, or may not, try to justify the price.

We enjoyed an amazing lunch at Brooklyn Cafè today. A lovely welcome for us and our Mini Schnauzer Clyde. Patrick was very helpful and took care of us well. I loved my New York bagel. They have a big Doggy menu as well. We will definitely be back.

Brooklyn Cafe has a lovely atmosphere, lots of veggie and vegan options, and delicious cakes for afters. **Update** The manager served me most recently on Friday the 11th April 2025, I want to say Sid? Outstanding service as always, 10/10. I had the margarita bagel and shared the nachos tatertots - all absolutely amazing. The bagel was especially delicious! Would highly, highly recommend.

We had a lovely lunch here yesterday- our waiter Sid was a total star! Magic tricks and really kind to my partner's wee girl. She says it is now her favourite cafe ever.

Best poached eggs I've ever had, proper runny yolk. Washed down with a nice cup of tea! Portion sizes are very generous, struggled to finish mine and the better half couldn't finish his. Wish they had a place closer to our home to visit more often but it's worth the journey for a treat! Update: back today for a catch up with friends and food was just as good as last time. Didn't have to wait long for a table and was served by Sid? (sorry I think that was the name) and was an absolute hoot I was laughing so much! Got to try the sauces that he made and my friend was delighted to have a wee dipping tub to take home.

One of our favourite regular breakfast and lunch spots. The food is always top notch, we love all the specials on the menu. Sid is AMAZING! from the dog menu, the homemade sauces, the excellent banter and the hilarious personal stamps on the receipts. Brooklyn is always a joy to come to :)

Sat in for some lunch today with some friends, the food was great and Sid was Amazing!! He really made our day. We would definitely come back just to experience his vibrant energy. Also his homemade spicy sauces which he offered us were so tasty.

Always great food out of this place. Breakfast brunch or lunch always hits the spot, so many good options. Staff are incredibly friendly and the service is genuinely excellent. Was provided some homemade hot sauce to try and it did not disappoint, went really well with our Toasties, and definitely get the tater tots or curly fries, they're top tier. One of my favourite spots in the city.

I would like to compliment John, and in particular Sid. I had occasion to take up room whilst waiting for a friend and Sid was so very nice to me and really patient. He insisted on letting me sit at a table which could have been given to someone in the queue, brought me a drink, and did not make me feel I was any bother. Eventually my friend and i enjoyed the most delectable lunch in this friendly and yummeee environment.

We had a walk in table of 4 and a baby and were seated right away with a fantastic host. Sophia our server was great throughout. Food was quick and delicious including homemade empire biscuits and the host’s homemade hot sauce which was amazing. Despite it being Mother’s Day weekend and very busy we were in and out in just over an hour. All four of us and the little one had a great time and we’ll certainly be back. Had lunch with my family today. Friendly staff, great food and happy to go back again. Bought some homemade cookies and homemade jam. Absolutely delicious.

Second visit. Service was amazing, really homey feel about the place, everyone was nice and welcoming. Food The food was excellent my partner ordered the poached egg on toast with Black-pudding & Hash-brown, she said it was unreal & she loved the hollandaise sauce. Good to see the place is using a nice black-pudding and not some awful cheap one, it is way too common these days. I ordered a basic french toast with Nutella, again, really lovely taste, french toast with spot on. The hot chocolate was great also. Brooklyn cafe is probably one of the best places for food and service you can get, it is fairly priced, it is cosy, service is excellent, food is excellent. 5/5 highly recommend.

Sweetest staff ever, accommodates to all our needs, it is quite busy but not long waiting times. I recommend trying the sauces the server recommends. 10/10 would come again

The staff were absolutely welcoming and lovely. The food was gorgeous and it’s in a great location. Sid and Olivia served us. They made sure we were good all the way through. Both of them were very kind to us.

Our full breakfast came and we were surprised with the variety of extra things, it was amazing. Also watching Sid interact with the kids and families. Definitely would come back again!

Not been in years and so much better than I remember. Food was really fresh, tasted excellent and well presented. Vegan options were brilliant and the doggy menu was great for our pooch. Staff were really friendly and attentive and everything was reasonably priced. Nice coffee and vegan shakes which were great. Looking forward to coming back.

Had a great lunch here the other day. I've been coming to Brooklyn Cafe for a few years and I am always happy with the food and service. Our server Sid was amazing, checking in on us and making us feel very well looked after. Highly recommend!

I’ve been coming to this cafe for years now on and off and I was in at the weekend for a spot of brunch with my family the food and the service from start to finish was knockout, me and my sister were obsessed with watching Sid perform their iconic magic tricks to children in at the time and who even kindly indulged us when we asked to see it again at our table. we also bonded with another member of staff over the Sabrina Carpenter themed cakes which were delicious! I’ll be back soon!!

We came here with our dog and toddler, they were treated like royalty by all the servers. A special mention to Sid who was amazing, not just with us but every table. We watched him at work and he constantly had a smile, and a few good magic tricks for any kids dinning. I feel good service is rather hard to come by these days but not at Brooklyn Cafe.

Lovely friendly atmosphere with lots of vegan choices. The vegan flat sausage is delicious, just wished I was hungrier to try some of the other options. Welcoming and friendly and would highly recommend

We had lunch here, food was delicious and Sid our server was so attentive it made for a lovely experience.

Place was freezing when I was in. So cold my food and coffee was getting cold on their plate and cup respectively as I tried to eat them. Staff were wondering around in their outside jackets. I was there at opening time, I think it must warm up after that, but I wouldn't go at opening if I were you. Food tasted alright, but the temperature thing was an issue.

Both the lovely young lady with red hair, and also Sid and his magic sauce, are so friendly and genuine.This cafe is lovely and hospitable. The food portions are on the large side but of a very good quality. The coffee is the best I have tasted south central side in Glasgow.

Wow , what a lovely place this is . The Staff were excellent and very welcoming and friendly . The food was Excellent , I would truly recommend this location . They should get Bigger premises because they'll have the clientele queuing . Definitely worth 5 Stars .

Always been a big fan of this place... but got the vegan loaded tater-tots to try—hands down the worst thing I've ever ordered anywhere, ever. "Loaded" meant utterly drowned in the finest cheap sweet chilli sauce, with a couple of vegan plastic cheese slices thrown on top. What it lacked in taste, it made up for in comedy. Was rank, like something you'd see on Gordon Ramseys kitchen nightmares, you know, at the start when he's giving them the biz'ness. Also cut out the West End nonsense with mustard coulis streaks and all that, there's enough of that. Get back to being the best 'cafe' cafe.

Went in a few months back and it was on its last legs like a punch drunk boxer just praying for the towel to be tossed in, I'm sure the delivery drivers won't miss it especially as the owner always had a complaint about missing stock ? We love coming here - especially when Sid is there. He shared his birthday magic with us today, making it an unforgettable lunch for my young son and me. From magic tricks, to making his ice cream literally sparkle - we couldn't be more grateful to Sid and the team's warmth and brilliant service. I've popped into Brooklyn Cafe on occasion in the past, but it had been a few years before my last visit yesterday. I'd always enjoyed the food and service I'd had there, but it seems like in my absence both have stepped up even more. I ordered a big vegan breakfast, my wife ordered a pulled pork, cheddar and southwest sauce toastie with broccoli and stilton soup, and we also ordered French toast to break up and give wee bits to our 19 month old son. All of the above was DELICIOUS. Speaking of our son, he had a wonderful time largely thanks to the efforts of Sid, our host, who was very friendly and spent a lot of time entertaining not only our son but the other wee baby who happened to be sat behind, us with stickers, jokes and the energy of a real entertainer. Hamza, our server, was also very friendly and efficient, and Olivia the runner was fantastic. Great staff, great food and great value! We definitely won't be leaving it anywhere near as long before our next visit.
