Brilliant quality bbq style food great old skool rustic vibes and very friendly staff. It is bbq joint style service so collecting your own food from the counter is normal. Our bill came to around £40 but for the quality and price of beef brisk it was way better than any burger. Place was looked after and made to feel really festive with extra effort put into decorations.

Food was a bit expensive, brisket isn’t actually brisket. Chips were brilliant, burger was okay, macaroni was bland. Wouldn’t go back. Server was very polite and friendly

Came here for takeaway for first time in ages as used to get from it years ago when they delivered. Wish we hadn't bothered 🙁 over 40 quid for 2 burgers, 1 fries and a mac n cheese. Garic chicken burger was really bland, partner couldn't even eat it. Mac n cheese had a horrible taste to it, still can't even tell what it is. Also wasted. Colombia burger was very chewy. Cajun fries ok but just like frozen shop bought French fries. Gutted after genuinly looking forward to it! Actually wish we had went to Burgerking.

Entra en el restaurante y un tipo que supongo que trabaja allí pregunta cuántos somos nosotros. Ambos miramos a nuestro alrededor y le decimos cuántos puede ver. Parece confundido. Decimos mesa para dos. Nos sienta en una mesa temblorosa muy limpia, pero dejó el menú desmenuzado en el bar junto a los tenedores manchados de huellas dactilares en una bañera. No puede faltar la comida. Entró el pedrero de antes y se metió en la parte de atrás y volvió a salir como camarero con olor a lince de África y cocinó Repollo jajaja. Mientras estábamos comiendo entraron unos cuantos chicos y nos pidieron que moviéramos mesa sin ayuda para mover nada y ni siquiera limpiaron la mesa. Pero como he dicho la comida es definitivamente genial aunque un poco caro pero es tiempos caros supongo pero no es un buen restaurante y probablemente podría estar en una nueva cocina pesadillas si hacen otra temporada

Got a takeaway from here tonight after being let down elsewhere. Delighted I did as the food was excellent. Got burgers, ribs and Cajun fries. The fries were very well spiced and the ribs had a great BBQ sauce. Service was swift and friendly and the staff were happy to chat through the menu and recommend stuff. Will definitely be back.

Salsa blanca chorreada sin que estuviera en el menú parecía que la mayonesa devolvía ambas hamburguesas las ponían de nuevo en la parrilla a pesar de que estaban contaminadas con una salsa que nunca pedimos huelga decir cuando comimos luego se secaron al infierno. No volverá mal espectáculo. Pregunta a tus clientes antes de añadir salsas al menos sentada en el menú

Had food here for years, it has went down in quality over the years. The biggest put off now is the price. Burgers and chips £16.50 isn’t good value. I would recommend going to locos for anyone looking for a good burger and chips for better value on the price.

Bit disappointed to be honest. 1 double cheese burger with bacon. 1 rack of ribs, 1 chips and 2 cans of juice £45. I wondered why and went and ask for a menu and had to take a photo. I realised that this business charged me £22.60 for the burger!! Because I asked for a double burger….1 patty with cheese £10.50 extra The burger bun was not fresh must have been left out for a couple of hours a bit stale there was a severe lack of cheese the burger itself was well done. Chips were overcooked that much there was no potato’s inside. The ribs were ok but not worth £16 I had such high hopes because of the open kitchen and customers sitting in chairs.

For take-out burgers in the neighborhood, Loco’s Burgers reigns supreme, and for half the price of Dennistoun BBQ. The burgers at DBBQ are heavy on the salt and not of the quality I would hope for at their price. The ambience is very nice and I would still recommend it if you’re looking for a dine-in experience, especially for families with children.

La hamburguesa estaba muy seca y carecía de diversidad en el condimento. Completamente sobrecargado de pimienta negra. La carne era de mala calidad y tenía una consistencia extraña, se dividió en muchos pedazos pequeños. Las costillas están bien, pero de nuevo bastante secas y masticables. Las patatas son normales. También casi £ 50 para costillas, hamburguesa, 1 porción de papas fritas y 2 bebidas. Aprecio que los precios estén aumentando, pero aun así esto parece pronunciado.

Burgers not too bad frozen french fried chips 25 minute wait for food

Went here for lunch to try out some American BBQ while shopping for the day. I had the brisket sandwich and some Cajun fries, along with a ginger ale. Ginger ale was great - Vernor’s which is top notch and filled with all that corn syrup to make me feel American. The fries were a 10. Huge portion and the Cajun seasoning was nice. The sandwich was a disappointment. Individually it might have been okay, the pickles were good and sweet, the sauce was also sweet, and the slaw was interesting. Loads of meat - but here’s the rub. The meat was flavorless. It didn’t taste of smoke or herbs. It had no crust on it at all that I could find. There was absolutely zero pink (from the smoke) anywhere on it. Just brisket that tasted like it had been roasted in an oven. It was also sliced far, far, far too thin - and had no fat on it. Brisket should be thick, unctuous, fatty, and amazing, with a charred crust and loaded with flavour and broken down fat inside the meat. Overall, for Glasgow, it’s the best I’ve found, but…it’s not BBQ, and not Texas bbq at all. Dill pickles on the side. White onion. No sauce. White bread instead of sweet brioche. Serve the meat in big chunks on the plate. Full disclosure, I’m American (hah) but from St. Louis so my bbq style is was different. This was more Kansas City than anything, and Kansas City is lame.

Amazing food! Been coming for years now and it’s always great. On the pricey side but I do think it’s worth it for the quality. The staff are always lovely and the inside is perfect for what it is.

The best Texan BBQ place in Scotland. The burgers are fantastic, but the brisket & pulled pork are standouts. Huge fan of their coleslaw also - have been trying to recreate that at home for years now. 10/10 worth a visit

Went last night after wanting to go for a long time, service.... there is no service you order at the till and collect your own food at the counter, atmosphere... music that doesn't match the food, the food.... not worth half of what I payed burger and brisket where dry and tasteless, chips had far to much garlic salt on them and the mac and cheese was below average if your looking for good food of this kind try drury street instead burgers are far better! And there is atmosphere and service!

Quality BBQ joint on the outskirts of Glasgow - dead easy to access if driving on a school day. Verrrry tasty (albeit slightly dry) and impressively tall burgers and ribs that fall off the bone. Food could have been warmer when served to us but we nevertheless enjoyed it immensely.

Every time since this place opened the food has been five stars, this time included. However, not being able to swap out bacon for onions without paying for both is a nonsense - subtract one star. Thanks to the guys in the shop for sorting this out for me 👍👍👍👍👍

Have been coming for 7 years and the food is unbeatable but unfortunately the prices are just to much now at £12 plus for a burger then another £5 plus for chips its just ridiculous. Also almost £5 for coleslaw its just price gouging because they know the food is good tbh its just greedy.

Foods can be good but usually burnt and dry... service is AWFUL, you're guaranteed a 40 minute wait for food and its espensive for what it is....dont get the onion rings they're terrible !!!

TLDR: one portion of fries is enough for 2 people. Wouldn't recommend the garlic fries. Everything else is delicious. Longer version: We ordered 2 burgers, 2 fries, 2 drinks. It was fairly expensive, but the reviews were promising. The burgers were succulent. The Cajun fries were tasty. My only flavour complaint is that the garlic fries were overcooked and had an overpowering rosemary taste, with a garlicky aftertaste. My suggestion to management would be to change the type of garlic you use in the recipe... Perhaps powder or oil instead of (what looked like) granules. Friendly staff, clean toilet facilities (however, not accessible). Great variety of imported soft drinks - including Mexican Coca Cola!

One of my favourite places to go in Glasgow ever. The chicken burgers are the best in the biz, the staff are always nice and the vibes are top notch.

Recent trip to Glasgow I was hankering for some proper BBQ food, apparently that's a bit of an ask. Luckily, Dennistoun came to the rescue. I read some of the reviews and one said the place looked run down and you didn't get much for the price. My counter argument is the place has character, yeah it looks old but there's such a great atmosphere as a result. Portion wise, I paid £12 for a Brisket Bun which was a substantial tower of meat, more chips than you'd get at most places that do an extra large. Taste wise, it was absolutely superb. I don't normally get over the top with stuff like this but this was a top 3 BBQ spot for me including one I visited in Texas. You can tell there is a real passion in the food. I had both the Mustard Dip and the BBQ sauce with the pulled pork, both were amazing. The mustard dip was similar to a Louisiana BBQ mustard that Reds used to sell but stopped doing for some reason and the BBQ one was up there with Sweet Baby Rays. Essentially if you're in Glasgow and you're partial to BBQ food, do yourself a favour and visit. Parking is on street but there are generally a good few spaces. Ordered : Beef Brisket Bun Solo Side Pulled Pork Garlic Fries Big Red Mexican Coke Mustard Dip

Whilst looking up BBQ shacks in Glasgow, I stumbled on this place. Now first up, you can only make reservations if you have a party of 10 or more, if not you need to turn up and take a chance. Table turn around time is fast so you should not wait more than 15 minutes (fingers crossed). Free parking outside from 6:30pm. Looking at the menu there is a fair choice of food however it is a little burger top heavy, but as I said there is a lot of BBQ choices. The food is ordered via an online app (squared up) and is delivered canteen style on metal trays. We ordered way too much for two people, but in my defence we (a) wanted to try a bit of everything and (b) we believed that portion sizes might be small. I was so wrong! I ordered the brisket, ribs, burger with fries for myself. We also ordered more ribs, BBQ wings and Mac & Cheese. The ribs meat fell off the bone and were smoked/seasoned perfectly, same with the brisket, not only was the meat juicy and moist, but the portion size was perfect. The burger was clearly handmade and was cooked perfectly. I was told the wings were also amazing and the Mac & Cheese was great. The only comment I would say is the BBQ Wings did have a little too much sauce on them for my personal taste, that was just me personally. A couple of things, seating is a little cramped, not a big thing, but could be an issue if you were disabled or in a chair. The restaurant is styled to be a USA BBQ shack and most of the respects it pulls it off, however playing UK dance music rather than the expected music choice (blue grass country etc.). The surrounding/food did not marry with the music. Lastly it is a shame, not a criticism, that the choice of sauces available was very limited to BBQ. If some more choices from USA regions were available this would definitely add to the experience. Other than that, food was very reasonably priced and served promptly even though they were busy. Great burger, but on the pricey end 8/10 A customisable burger experience, though the menu could be clearer on what counts as extras. The smashed patties and caramelised onions were standout, but the burger was slightly dry. Loved the sweet buns and crispy Cajun and garlic fries. Note: The small space fills with kitchen odours and parking is tough. Total was £40, a bit pricey due to unexpected topping charges. Worth a visit if nearby and craving a solid burger. Not great for parking if you’re not in the area.

Great food and BBQ meat options. Would go back. Pricey for every day food but still good quality for a treat now and again. Do takeaway as well as sit in. Licenced.

Me and my friend were in the area hungry. She wanted a steak Im vegan. This place doesnt have steaks but there was nothing else with vegan menu. Place looks run down from outside. In my opinion place is overpriced. Vegan burger wasnt any better than one you get in burger king (I wish I went there to be honest) pretty small, which is extremely disappointing,doesnt even come with fries, you need to get it separately and its too much of a portion.My friend had some cured beef in a bun, she wasnt blown away. For 20 quid per person I would expect a feast of amazing flavours. Friendly and polite staff

Popped in for food as drove past, really loved the entrance, feel of the place. Ordered a couple of classic burgers, onion rings and fries. Food was ok, burgers and onion rings felt under seasoned. Really wanted to enjoy the food, but felt average. Good luck with future endeavours.

My partner and I are faithful fans of dennistoun bbq and have been from day 1......and we were shocked to see the recent bad reviews, yet we went along anyway and hoped for the best..... We got our usual and it was a taste sensation as usual......panic over! Keep up the good work team 👍😉

A great burger slightly spoiled by the seasoning - pretty much all the black pepper was found in the last two bites. Please mix the spices through the meat a bit better.

We haven't visited for years but the food is just as delicious as ever. Atmosphere scored slightly lower as we didn't eat in, and Service scored slightly lower because we ordered on the website to collect our meal at 7:30 but had to wait another 10-15 minutes. The staff were nice though.

Literally the best cajun fries in Glasgow. Veggie & vegan selections are extensive and they really nail the messy burger without the meat. To my knowledge, the meat equivalents are equally stunning but I haven’t personally tried them. The mac and cheese is a must. The bbq dipping sauce is gorgeously sweet and smoky. And the slaw is just a cherry on top. Perfect for a hangover meal, a post marathon feast or a lovely lil date night. Cannot fault it at all.

Having ordered our food and agreeing a collection time, we left! When we returned, three members of staff couldn’t arrange two burgers and fries and coleslaw, we sat patiently and waited as delivery after delivery left, people ate their meals, after 30mins I explained I was concerned that my order was lost, then low and behold a cold bag of 2x burgers and fries was offered for £30 and the manager reasoning that previous orders leaving and then forgetting the order was negated by the delivery times given, SO take cold forgotten orders because of the small print, I remember when granny bob actually served, wouldn’t waist my evening waiting for this kind of service again!

Food wasn’t cooked near a BBQ side portion size were small for the price and £5 a drink is a bit much don’t mind paying for a decent meal .. ribs were nothing like as pictured … definitely would not recommend

Raw burger and stinking attitude from staff incl shift manager David Ordered food picked it up and took it home Both burgers were raw in the middle Called up and was told by “juan” I could have a replacement and a refund if I brought back Drove back in was given replacement but when asked about my refund was told it’s one or the other spoke to some shift manager with a stinking attitude saying I couldn’t have a refund if I took the replacement. No apology for wasting my time and fuel having to come back to allow them to fix their mistake. I’ll be complaining to proper manager when she’s in as her staff need training in how to cook and how to fix their mistakes and for a shift manager ginger bearded Davey needs some proper customer service training

Had heard good things about this place. However, I left very disappointed! Really love the idea wish it better in all ways! I will start with the positives good drinks selection, and the staff I did interact with were lovely. the food however was a massive let down! Everything was bland lacked any authentic bbq flavour or any flavour at all really. I liked the idea of the relaxed counter service but the restaurant itself very chaotic nobody actually seemed to be in control. The most worry thing though was hygiene the place was not clean! I witnessed one chef scratch his head and continue to cook and another wipe his sweat off his face and carry on everything felt grubby.

Words can’t describe the food is so I’ll use numbers. Brisket burger - 1/10 Ribs - 5/10 Mac and cheese 3/10 Got the brisket burger to take away. After 3 bites and a lot of chewing with no flavour, I went to give it to the dog and my partner said to throw it in the bin instead as it was that bad. Shocking beyond belief they would recommend this off the menu when it’s that bad. Tasted like it was cooked a week ago and reheated in the microwave to remove the last of the moisture. After a friend telling me to go back as it was a once off this is what I got 2nd time round. Ribs (full rack) were poor 5/10, the separate sauce (bbq was 7/10) but wasn’t the fall off the bone they said it was. After a while of trying to get the meat off the bone I gave up and binned the rest. Mac and cheese (as a side) was tasteless. The next visit cost me around £17 which to be honest, was an absolute waste of money, I feel I’ve been robbed.

The food here is unbelievable! This place is first class, the brisket is perfect and the burgers are out of this world.

I visited this restaurant and had the best BBQ chicken breast sandwich. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The bacon was the perfect addition to top off an already delicious sandwich. The Cajun fries are a must try!

First off, all the love to this fantastic place and it’s lovely staff. If you’re thinking of visiting please do - it’s great. A few observations which could make things biblical. Firstly, very reasonable priced, decor vibey as hell, really nice staff and decent tunes. Brisket bap was enormous, well stacked with decent ingredients although meat could’ve been charred more to give it that real bbq flavour. Fries were great - CRISPY and well seasoned. The wings sadly were a little disappointing - came with the seed heavy kebab shop style chilli sauce. Would’ve been better as a flash fried option with buffalo sauce and blue cheese dip for a true bbq experience. Would’ve been nice if the beer selection showcased some local Scottish stuff. Would definitely visit again.

I’ve been visiting here for years. Absolutely love it for sit in or take out. I live a good 25min drive away but it’s a well worth journey. Still gutted they don’t do the Nutella ribs though :(

Chilli so smokin it should be served in a pipe. For those born this century not a tube like thing, but what your granpa took his baccie in. Celebration meal, we both had cajun fries and the brisket and pulled pork rolls, shared a side of said smoking chilli. I didn't need to eat till lunchtime the following day, the teen till bedtime! Flavoursome, succulent, and plentiful. Sadly no Mexican cola or any other exotic sodas though, was really looking fwd to those. Settled for a pint can of Pabst, which washed it all down smoothly. I'll be back for sure.

Ordered the regular cheeseburger, ribs, garlic fries, and onion rings. The cheeseburger was good, but I should have ordered one of their “special” burgers because my s/o said it was amazing (Kinney burger). The fries and onion rings were absolutely amazing, I quite like my fried foods crunchy and crisp, and they were spot on. Now the ribs were probably the best ribs I’ve ever had, even from Texas bbq joints in America. They were tender, fall-off-the-bone, and generously seasoned (without it being overpowering). The bbq sauce was authentic and paired perfectly with the ribs. I cannot wait to try the other bbq items such as the brisket and pulled pork. Price was also reasonable, dare I say cheap, compared to bbq prices in America. Amazing bbq joint

Good all round BBQ place with authentic feel.

Came here at a friend's recommendation. The BBQ chicken wings were good, but the fries, both Cajun and Garlic were just frozen french fries that were overcooked and not great. The onion rings were pretty tasteless and again overcooked and a dark brown colour which looked like the fat needed changed. Mac n Cheese was nice and the slaw was okay. My husband had the ribs and the very hot wings which he said were good. My daughter and her friend asked for plain chicken burgers with salad and were given quite spicy cajun chicken burgers which we tried and they were really quite spicy. There was plenty of chicken on the burger though. Overall this was nothing to write home about. For the same price you'd be far better off heading to Buck's Bar.

Best BBQ I've ever had! The ribs are incredible and the burgers are insane. Would recommend getting both if you're going! The chips have got a nice spice to them as well. Everytime I'm in Glasgow I will not miss my ribs and burger from here. Probably one of the best places to eat in Glasgow when you walk in immediately the smell hits you and you know you've made a great decision. Can't wait to come back guys!

I've never hated fries before in my life, but Dennistoun BBQ proved that it can be done. So much rosemary and completely unsalted, accompanied by disgusting side dips. The pulled pork burger hadn't been slow cooked or marinaded. Instead, it was just a jam packed bun full of dry large shreds of pork with some mild sweet sauce poured over it. The oil being used to cook the food smells off and you can taste it through the food. The chicken wings were beyond disgusting so we just got them as takeaway to feed our dogs. No idea why this place is so popular? On top of that it was super expensive (especially for chicken wings, £11 for 6) I really wish I had went to Gregg's, Subway, KFC, Burger King, Mcdonalds, absolutely anywhere else really, and for half the price.

My favourite burger place in Glasgow. I always get a granny boab with cheese and Cajun fries, it never disappoints. The bbq sauce is amazing as well! The staff are super friendly and always go above and beyond. Can’t recommend enough!! :)

Food was abysmal at best. Finally got my food 20 minutes after my friend got his,even though we ordered at the same time and same order. The onion rings were black and burned to a cinder,bacon on the chicken burger burnt to a crisp. Not a good look guys having a chef with a big scraggly beard and no hairnet! £26 down the drain Please avoid this dump like the plague

We used to go here all the time, but it’s went really downhill. Got bbq ribs that were definitely not bbq. The dry rub was so thick all you could taste was the five spice. Bbq wings were again awful. Bbq sauce was excessive amount. Would not recommend to anyone.

Great burgers and fries. Really decent. They seem to follow the ethos of a small selection done really well. Nice atmosphere. From the outside it looks a bit threadbare, but I think that is a deliberate attempt to look low key.

Incredible food, but sat for ages waiting to be served, and no one thought to say on arrival that all the ordering was done on the app. When the food eventually arrived, there was no customer service at all, literally just given food, no cutlery, had to get that ourselves

We loved this place. Walk-in off the street, we were looking for some grub before having a few jars later, and we hit the jack pot! Fantastic value for the quality. Big FAT burgers, LOADS of fries. Y E S !!!! A think a few more beer choices would be good, and, a little more atmosphere, but I can't complain really.

Me and my boyfriend have eaten here 5 or 6 times and it was great the first few times, loved it, but recently timing hasn’t been the way it used to be. This time was probably the worst experience sorry to say, we ordered 3 burgers and 3 sides and were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait. We in fact waited nearer 40 minutes. When we ate the burgers it was incredibly over salted and the Cajun fries were extremely seasoned which was unpleasant. I hate complaining so the positive I can take away from this is the plain fries are good and crispy.

good food, great portion sizes however awful signal in the place took a while to order your food on the app due to the signal - no free wifi available and took another 30 mins for it to arrive. not the best service had to go ask for cutlery and our drinks after our food arrived
