Waheed our server was fantastic, made us feel very welcome. The food was superb, highly recommend the Sunday roast. We will definitely be back.

I had the rump steak and it was quite chewy, had no nice sear on it, and was pretty bland. I've definitely cooked myself a better steak and I'm no expert. The house sauce with it was really tasty though.The truffle mac and cheese side was tasty enough but seemed like it was likely prefrozen or something. The chunky chips were the best part of the meal which for 35ish pounds was a bit disappointing. The waiter was also doing way too much and came across as a fake/performative constantly calling my mum "My Lady". Would much rather a down to earth Glaswegian server like I've had elsewhere in the city. My mum had the seabass and it was quite good. All in all a very mid experience and to me 4 stars is a misleadingly high rating. Meh.

As walk in customers, we where seated given table water fast however that's where the speed went to a complete stand still. About 20 minutes wait just to order drinks and the food even though there was multiple waitresses standing around having a chat throughout this wait. Finally our server Waheed arrived to take our order. Some people like that kind of service however I found it over the top and quite fake asking first names and what not is just weird in a restaurant setting in my opinion. Anyway drinks came and then it was 40 minute wait between the drinks arriving and the starters arriving. The restaurant wasn't even busy probably not even 1/3 capacity. Although the starters where ok one was tepid at this stage I wasn't about to wait another 40 minutes for a reeeplacement and just ate it. After finishing the starter the main came quite soon after although ordered the Chateaubriand 16oz and felt very short changed at the price compared to what we got. It definitely didn't seem like 16oz although it was very nice, the garlic mushroom side was lovely, the "triple cooked chips" tasted like any other you'd put in your frier at home, the asparagus was well overdone. Then waiting around for someone to ask for a bill. There was enough staff but not enough actually working! Waheen seemed like the only wait staff actually doing anything. Finally we get the bill which was wrong however he'd noticed and changed it. He was apologetic about the service and I told him I'd noticed staff standing around while we waited and he replied "I know" like it was an expected thing there. This whole experience took around 2 hours in total and wasn't cheap. They're marketing themselves as quite a nice place which it is but the food and service doesn't match the prices.

If a could give this place a 0 i would the table service was shocking 1 man scratch his back side juice was left up at table for 30 minutes then had to walk out

Short stay between Christmas and New Year's Eve in Glasgow where we had 2x delicious meals at Bar+Block. The atmosphere, the food but for pleasant and fine service from Emily C made us come back again. Highly recommended for delicious but not too expensive food in an atmospheric setting. Nice staff but not good to eat. The sauce you order with your steak is so small about 2 tablespoons. Not anywhere near enough for a steak, so the meal is very dry. Would definitely not recommend this place

Stayed at the adjoined hotel and got a meal deal here as it was reasonable value, so had 3 breakfasts and 3 evening dinners at Bar & Block. Very much a mixed experience. The breakfasts, self service, were all good. The evening dinners however were…. interesting to say the least. The first evening the food was ok, but the waiter was very slow and forgetful, and he was overtly (uncomfortably) friendly in interactions, eg kept using random pet names to people at our table which left an odd taste. The second evening the service was quicker, but we had to argue to get a table despite having pre-paid, and some of the food they brought out was not what we had ordered — it’s like they couldn’t cope with a busy Friday night. The third and final evening was the best of the lot, brilliant food (the chicken seems to be better than the steak!) and the service at last was absolutely spot on. I left a tip on night 3; they seemed to have a different team on (weekend staff?) who were much better. In conclusion, this restaurant is a bit of a lucky dip ! Don’t be surprised with whatever you get. Also - kids should be included or at least subsidised in the evening part of the meal deal. They get a free breakfast which is great, but still cost full price at each evening dinner.

2nd time coming here - we are staying again at the Premier inn and came back based on our previous experience. We also hoped our previous server waheed would be serving again and we were lucky as he was. Food was absolutely delicious, steak was melt in the mouth and chips crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Love the beef dripping popcorn! 😋 I love the exposed brick and feel of this restaurant, staff are all lovely but waheed just adds that special and more personal touch, remembers people and names who he has served before and my son and I just think the world of him. He gave my son the loveliest card and gift too. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

First time going here. Probably the last too. Expected more considering the prices being charged. Ordered the chateaubriand and was very disappointed with the appearance, size and taste of the steak, and only got one small peppercorn sauce to share. Had to buy a second sauce at a cost of £2. Repeatedly had to stop the server to remind him of drinks that were ordered. Clearly not enough staff either as plates were left on table for far too long. Overall not a great experience, which was disappointing as we expected better.

First time at Glasgow bar+block Food was great realy enjoyed, are steaks where cooed to perfection. The girl who showed us to are table was very friendly and professional did a great job remembering our order of the top of her head. Well what can I say about are waiter Waheed was very friendly also happy and cheerful, made great conversation that mad us laugh. He couldn't do enough for both of us. We had an amazing experience at Block and Bar in Glasgow, thanks to the fantastic service from our waitress Ntina. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations that made our meal even better. Despite the restaurant being busy, she ensured we had everything we needed and checked in regularly without being intrusive. Her warm and professional attitude really made our evening special. We'll definitely be back but we would definiently prefer fresh fried potatoes . Thank you.

Lovely food and our server (I believe she is called Kate or Katie) was very pleasant and efficient. It was quiet enough to have a conversation without raised voices. I really must comment on the garlic mushrooms. Delicious! The Eaton Mess was lovely.

Very poor portion size. I've eaten at many steakhouses across the UK and this for portion v quality = value was the worst unfortunately. Very small cut . Supposed to be 8oz ,more likely 5 max. The steak was not seasoned well also adding to the disappointment. Will not revisit or recommend.

Great place to grab an excellent steak dinner. Three stars for atmosphere is probably down to my poor choice of company on the night. Next time I'll take a better dinner date.

Here for the fifth time. First time gave it five stars for both the food and service and would have this time too, but the quality was not quite up to the same standard, hence the four stars. Needs a bit of consistency.

We were recommended this restaurant by the hotel, our first meal in Glasgow and for us a mistake. For the price, we expected something else. The taste or flavor of the dishes has left us indifferent, nothing to highlight and I find that anywhere else you can eat better for this price or a lower price. Regarding the quantity 3 fins??? This was a plate, and the bowls were minis. The restaurant is elegant and the staff who welcomed us and served us at the table, very friendly and professional.

Really good meal at Bar & Block. Very accommodating staff and kitchen, making changes to the meal to accommodate my dietary needs. Food was delicious and exactly what I'd asked for - nothing was any trouble for them.

Waheed was absolutely brilliant, from the second we walked in he was so cheerful and considerate until we left. It was my birthday and when he brought out my dessert he came in with a candle and had all of my friends singing happy birthday. My wife and I had lovely afternoon here with a bottle of wine and a few steaks. All cooked beautifully. (The fries are #chefskiss). Our first table had a slight draft, but we were moved without issue. Everyone was exceptional, especially Waheed who was so friendly and created the atmosphere for us to relax and enjoy our food and fizz without feeling rushed. We will be back. D&J.

I took My Wife here for a Birthday Meal and was Very Impressed, It was Very Cosy and the Staff where all very helpful, we each had Steak Sirloin for me and A Filet for my Wife they were very Enjoyable, We also had some cocktails to celebrate the birthday, Our Server was Waheed and he was very Joyful & Friendly when I ordered the Cocktails I mentioned it was to celebrate my Wife's Birthday, and he wished her happy birthday and was very attentive to make it a enjoyable night for her, once we had finished our meal Waheed brought a small treat with a candle in it and sang happy birthday this was a nice touch and made her night , we had a very enjoyable night and would highly recommend for the food and the service

If I could rate ten star I would. The steaks was the best iv put in my mouth in years the food was delicious,the staff polite and friendly. It's a little pricey but it's a steak house. Does a great 3 course for 15 during the day.. This is my new favourite resteraunt and I'm gonna return more than a few times in 2025

There were five of us looking for a nice steak meal and a few glasses of red. Welcome was friendly. The starters were interesting and enjoyable and the steaks were exactly as ordered. Service throughout was efficient and there was never an empty glass.

We ate here on Sunday evening, we had the Christmas 3 course meal, the food was good, the service from Waid was very pleasant. I would have liked to have left him a tip for the service we received, however due the the fairly large service fee I felt it wasn't appropriate.

I recently stayed at the premier inn st Enoch that this restaurants attached to. Breakfast here is first class and the lady welcoming customers is so friendly. The ingredients very fresh and well cooked each morning. Kept very well for a buffet service. I ate in the restaurant on two lunch times. My first experience was very good. Good starters and a well cooked Rib eye steak. The waiter was very friendly, Whayed I believe, and all round a pleasant experience. Unfortunately my Sunday lunch experience wasn’t any where close to this. I have a condition where I’m tube fed and this was a rare experience sadly spoilt. Firstly, I wasn’t told that there would only be a festive menu when I booked. I had read reviews on the Sunday lunch and was looking forward to this. Secondly, I had a discount code to which I was informed can not be used on the festive menu. It was too late to book elsewhere on a Sunday so opted for the turkey and all the trimmings. As good as my breakfast and steak experiences were, this was the polar opposite. Soup starter cold, Turkey over cooked, it was 1pm, veg undercooked, beef dripping roasts flavourless, a sad attempt of a Yorkshire pud, gravy very watery and one tiny pigs in blankets, didn’t make for an enjoyable lunch. When I made my concerns known I was told “yeah the turkeys not great” It’s a real shame as I had high expectations after 2 very good meals. However, this was one of the worst Sunday lunches I have had.

Lovely and polite service, although the lady did obviously try and upsell us. Nonetheless, we look forward to our food. My partner’s steak arrived overdone, no big deal. However, my burger was very burnt. My partner tried it to confirm it was burnt, disappointing especially at that price. I work in the industry so I get it, but just don’t send out a meal you won’t eat. All whilst being serenaded to loud corporate pop which absolutely murders the atmosphere. I would give a miss.

Went for a boozy brunch and had paid extra £10 each for the cocktails which there was only 4 to choose from as the beer and proseco on offer wasn't to our liking my partner didn't like the cocktails much so asked if they could exchange 1 or 2 for a vodka and coke to be told no would upset the till so decided to go elsewhere will be going back to sappora as the cocktails where better a d choose any drinks

Went for lunch with a group of friends. Great location, near central station. The decor and ambience is lovely with spaced out tables so you don't feel crammed in. The food was good, although none of us had steak, which is (of course) their speciality. However, what truly made this place 5 stars was our waiter - Waheed. He was friendly, funny and attentive; making such an effort to make our visit enjoyable. Thank you for adding your magic to make our day out even more memorable.

Excellent value for money and good selection of food

We tried the Christmas festive menu, and I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. As a main dish, I’ve had the Turkey with all the trimmings, and it was very basic. Turkey was slightly cold, the gravy sauce portion was extremely small that wasn’t nearly enough to cover 1/4 of the dish. The quality of the food doesn’t justify the price at all.

Barman lovely but… A member of staff who had just finished shift and came from the back to have a drink after his shift at the bar. He went out mid drink and clearly smoked cannabis as when he came back to the bar to finish his drink the smell overpowered the whole place. Awful!!!!!!! Do not smoke that and then force if upon your patrons. Disgusting.

The food here was amazing. Honestly, I couldn't fault it. My friend and I ordered from the set menu and also ordered some small plates. The cheese fondue was so tasty, a must try. We both had the trio of steak as a main, and the steaks were brilliantly cooked, very tasty. The service was ok, until after the bill was paid then it seemed like the waitress didn't feel the need to be helpful anymore. My friend has a disability and when she asked to use the disabled toilet, she was told by staff that they didn't think it was working and she'd just need to go upstairs to use the toilet. The toilets upstairs are over two flights of stairs from the main restaurant and there is no way she'd have been able to make that climb. Seemed like a situation where because there was no visible disability that assumptions were being made instead. If the disabled toilet wasn't working then that's understandable but at least confirm that rather than say to someone, they'll need to just use the toilets upstairs then walk away. All in all though, I'd recommend for a meal. The food really was some of the best I've eaten in Glasgow.

Steak was lukewarm asparagus cold broccoli cold toilets ladies a disgrace four our of six stalls dirty toilet.we didn't say much at the table ,but I pointed the above to a female. manager who said sorry we paid the full bill a tiny discount would have been appreciated but none offered restaurant was very quiet . service was very good but would not return as the food let it down.Bill was 130 for four people

Great staff, great food. Have eaten here before and will certainly eat here again. They know how to do steaks right! Even if my companions were heathens and wanted medium-rare! 😉

The Waiter, Wahid was lovely however this restaurant leaves allot to be desired. we arrived without a booking at 19:00 on a Thursday evening. We tried to order beef burgers as it is a Beef/Steak restaurant. We were told they had no burgers at all, which was a surprise. We had to order chicken burgers instead, which when they arrived left us questioning how they can charge £18 for a tiny burger and 4 chips. The plate was practically empty. They also forgot my mums coffee that she ordered and the glass given to her for her Sparkling water had a strong smell of curry/BO, she had to ask for a new one. The waiter was the only thing that kept us from walking out.

Staff were really friendly and patient with our group. I had the sea bass and it was delicious!

Delicious food and cozy vibes, we truly enjoyed our visit and had a great time. The steak was cooked exactly how we wanted. The only downside was that the service was a bit slow, but I think at the time they were just a bit short on staff 😅

I stayed at the premier inn attached to this establishment. I met my 23 year old son & his partner for drinks here. The bar staff asked for I.D. for both my son (who had none) & his partner. My son is clearly over 18, however the barmaid took great delight in refusing him a drink as he had no i.d. I watched not only this particular barmaid but all of them over a period 2 hours and not one of them ever cracked as much of a smile! They were dour and had absolutely no intention of striking up a rapport with any customer. This was a nice location and has so much potential but they need a total staff overhaul.
