Promised so much but let down by average food and mixed service - the young lady was brilliant other service staff were average

Considering it was quiet the service was slow

I stayed at the premier inn attached to this establishment. I met my 23 year old son & his partner for drinks here. The bar staff asked for I.D. for both my son (who had none) & his partner. My son is clearly over 18, however the barmaid took great delight in refusing him a drink as he had no i.d. I watched not only this particular barmaid but all of them over a period 2 hours and not one of them ever cracked as much of a smile! They were dour and had absolutely no intention of striking up a rapport with any customer. This was a nice location and has so much potential but they need a total staff overhaul.

The food was amazing and our server, Waheed, could not have been more welcoming and friendly. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a special night.

Had lunch last Friday with my sister, the food was lovely and the service from our waiter Waheed was exceptional.

Waheed has greeted and served my partner and I on 4 occasions now and we always look forward to coming back to see a friendly face. Cheers the day up excellent customer service and goes the extra mile. Excellent food as always. We look forward to our next visit Waheed see you then 😊

Called in and had an excellent steak and a really nice drop of wine. But the big win was the waiter. WAHID, you are a legend! Rare nowadays in a city restaurant to meet a waiter who takes time to talk to the customers and look after them. If you go for nothing else, go to say hello to Wahid

Had a fantastic meal with my fiancée. Ordered 4 small plates, portions were lovely for what they were, the prawns and the brisket burnt ends were incredible! Ordered 2 rump steaks, an 8oz and a 12oz, and unfortunately both were marred by being the wrong temperatures (fiancée had to send her 8oz back because it was rare/blue when asked for as medium). Mine was requested Medium rare, and came between medium and medium well. Still tasted lovely, just wished I'd sent mine back too. Prices on the steaks are a little up there, but the starters are very well priced so it makes it feel quite balanced overall if you're there for 2 courses at least. Planning to come back here later in the week for another meal, would definitely recommend.

Very tasty food and super friendly service. Waiting times were a little longer, but that was ok as the food was very good.

The steak itself was good but the whole meal itself was vastly overpriced . We had a chateaubriand for 2 . The sides were mediocre and not very substantial . Our bill for just a main course wine , snd a couple of drinks came to £118 . This included 2 overcooked prawns and 2 overcooked scallops for a total of £10 - ripoff . Would not recommend with many better options in Glasgow to eat at .

What a fantastic anniversary dinner was just had. Waheed was the best waiter we have had in the longest time. Single handedly made the night. He even gave his a little present for going home :) From Gav & Lisa

A very nice place belonging to the Premiere Inn hotel. The food offered is probably standard for all Premier Inn hotels. The service is impeccable and helpful, but the downside is that the kitchen closes too early and some employees don't even know what time it is.

Went to try it. Food was ok but don't think I'll be back.

We had booked this for my son’s 15 Birthday and we had a lovely time. The restaurant and bar was really nice with a lovely relaxed atmosphere and our waiter Waheed was great, a real asset to the business. He made my son feel really special although slightly embarrassed when he sang happy birthday to him 😂. Food was nice too thought could have done with a little bit of veg to complement the perfectly cooked steak.

Here for the second time. Previously gave it five stars for both the food and service. However this time the food quality was barely to an acceptable standard. Needs a bit of consistency.

Tried to walk in at 19:30 and we were turned away when the restaurant was practically empty (about 6 people sat down) the greet staff actively tried to send us somewhere more expensive (£150 for two people we were quoted) we went outside to check online booking availability and there was nothing booked from 19:30 until close so we booked the next slot at 19:45 and walked back inside and said “we managed to book a table” for the greet staff (who we found out later was a manager) to say “well I guess I’ll have to seat you now, I would have put you in when you came in earlier if I had the space. You’re not likely to have a good experience now as we are busy and the kitchens overwhelmed” (still only around 6 people eating in the whole place at this point). We were seated and kept receiving stares and side eye from the manager who “greeted” us and who quite frankly had an atrocious attitude. Ordered regular coke and received diet Food took way too long to arrive, was average at best, not worth the price. Steaks were undercooked, both were ordered medium we received one rare and one close to blue but somehow charred, the sides were bizarre or just poor quality, garlic mushrooms that had clearly been microwaved, and “corn on the cob” that consisted of four slices of a corn cob that were drowning in what can only be described as supercharger sauce from kfc, coriander, and some kind of cubed soft cheese The only positive of the whole experience was our server Ellie who looked like she was the only person on shift doing anything at all! She kept a smile on her face even though she was rushed off her feet waiting on every table alone (more people had come in since we’d sat down) she was friendly, attentive and apologetic. She is the only reason I haven’t rated the service lower Whoever the manager on that shift was needs to be knocked down a few levels and get a serious attitude adjustment and Ellie should run a shift or two Chips were decent

4 out of 5 steaks were fabulous. One was fatty and they only had one Sunday roast left even though we reserved a table for 6 people

Had a lovely meal and drinks, staff very helpfull - wish we had whaheed as our sever tho, seems to bring life/personal touch to the place! Credit to him!! toilets however disgusting, don't think this is the resturants fault just the dirty females that had been in before me.

I’m not recomended this place, personal is very poor qualification. Absolutely empty place and not friendly personal.

We were staying at the premier inn located next door first experience was nice my partner had the 8 oz steak which was slightly overcooked but still very nice I had the fish block which was amazing service was great but we were in early for dinner 6 pm Next morning had the unlimited breakfast which was great again the server I forgot her name was amazing as the restaurant was full thank God we booked a table In Sunday we went at 5 pm hopeful to get a roast unfortunately they ran out but wasn't a problem my partner had the sea bass dish which he said was the best food he'd ever had I went for the small plates which were amazing apart from the corn chip with guacamole unfortunately the chips were chewy rather than crunchy but the rest was unbelievably lovley our server was Waheed such a charming man nothing was too much trouble he convinced me to have the tiramisu which is my favorite well it didn't disappoint we will definitely be back when we come back to Glasgow Well done bar & block it was our first visit and we loved it !!

Went for the Sunday roast. The service was attentive if slow, and the temperature was insanely cold. The meal itself was all right at best, with the chicken the highlight. I got the ultra roast that also include lamb and steak; it was just a slice of each one, and honestly I'm still not sure which one was which. The potatoes were obviously frozen; the broccoli and the peas were good. Honestly I'm sure there are better options in Glasgow but it's fine if you can get a deal/voucher.

We had a GREAT experience here. Waheed was incredibly kind, helpful, attentive, and funny. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender, and we loved the truffle mac and cheese as well! Would recommend! Got us in as walk-ins on a busy Saturday night. Lovely place with reasonable prices!

Friends suggested this restaurant for our lunch gathering. We were first greeted by a not so happy guy then our server Wahid came and turned our dining experience to a delightful one! He is one of the few you get in dining places nowadays, I felt like I was in business or first class onboard a plane! He delivered one of the highest standard of service I’ve experienced in this Kingdom! There are so many to choose from the menu, it was Sunday so I chose the Sunday roast beef and priced around £16 which was big in portion. It was perfectly done and well presented. Friend had the sea bass and was very good too. There are also 2 courses lunch available with good price. A-la-carte prices are slightly on the high side but would try it to find out next time. Friend had the Grapefruit margarita which was absolutely fabulous! My house red wine was ok. We couldn’t stop commenting how impressive Wahid was and left him a big tip. Definitely will be back. 👍🏼

Easily the best rib eye I have eaten.......cooked to perfection...suft not up to expectations ..Eton mess delicious too. Can't wait till next visit.....

Attended last night for my mums birthday. Sat down and as soon as seated an OUTSTANDING Waiter greeted us. I have never experienced a waiter that makes little things make a restaurant stand out.From taking all our names individually and remembering them the full night including kids. Going the extra mile to make my mums birthday that little special with a cake. Wahid made our night with his outstanding quality and this restaurant has an outstanding man with fantastic qualities and we couldn’t be more thankful for his service. Our food was fantastic and our kids also loved their food aswell wahid given the kids his time and making them feel important. Will definitely be back but will be requesting my man Wahid to serve us. Said they were closed at 20:50 on a Friday night. Staff didn't know if they were open or closed. The place was empty though on a busy Friday night after payday. We were a group of 5 looking for some steak. Turned away. Told no more orders before 2100 on a friday night. Seems like they lost a good few hundred pounds tonight...

Food was nice enough but small portions for the price. Waited an hour between courses even though the place wasn't packed. We were given our starters for free because of the wait but me and my family wouldn't go back

Terrible service not enough staff meal chilled as it sat so long waiting to be served shame as it tasted great only cold waited too long on drinks too the maitre de was just standing around doing naff all. Barmaid could run drinks out if no customer at bar

Every bite was delicious! Wahid made the experience amazing. He really goes above and beyond. We came on a slower night and everything was prompt and perfect.

The food tasted good, but was not hot. The service is very slow, but that is due to the lack of staff. Once they can get a full staff, I believe they would be great.

How is this restaurant still in business? For 2 nights I have been turned away because they “are no longer taking walk-ins”, notwithstanding that the restaurant is only half full. Accommodation is not their strength.

Table was booked. Went in an was approach by a gentleman with a slight attitude problem ( perhaps because I was wearing a hoodie he wasn't happy I was in there). After i was seated a very pleasant waitress came to the table and took my order her service was amazing and the food was good. Other then the initial host i was very pleased with my visit.

Waheed, our server has been absolutely amazing. We had a large party of 14 and he was so helpful and attentive. He couldn't have done enough for us, he was very personable and catered to our every need. The food was amazing and atmosphere lovely! We will definitely be back.

30/6 update/revisit We went for a date, our waiter absolutely made the visit go from 4 to 5 star, Wahid E. Absolute credit to the restaurant. Welcoming, friendly, funny, fab chap and it really does make a difference to your experience. I had the half roast chicken again, o/h had 14oz sirloin steak and a side of pigs in blankets. No waiting time, service was fab. The carrots, I don't know if glazed or what but they were superb too. Both too full for dessert, 5/5 this time. My first time going, o/h had been 3 or 4 times with friends The chicken, dear lord the chicken is absolutely beautiful/tender. I always loved a half roast chicken but so many places stopped selling it. O/h got the steak. Others got the ultimate so the chicken, bit of beef, bit of lamb. Our other guest had lamb. Gravy pots are really small but can ask for more. My roast potatoes were really drink but I got more gravy. Got a side of pigs in blankets and the mushrooms. So nice. Water for the table, they didn't sell pepsi max (my fave) but do have diet coke. We booked. Toilets are upstairs but they have a disabled downstairs. Beautiful interior, big, lovely design. Staff really nice, repeat drinks took a while to come for with the food and it wasn't overly busy but otherwise great and would certainly go back 4.5/5. They also have a boozy brunch style menu £30 for drinks (cocktails) and food, think I saw cheesy bites so we will need to check that out sometime.

The streak was very very good, our waiter, Waheed was super friendly and attentive. There wasn't much to criticise.

Haven't been here for a while because the standard of food went downhill (small portions and not very well cooked) but came back last night as we were staying in the hotel and weather wasn't great. Immediately on going into restaurant the atmosphere was great with a lovely singer providing the background guitar music. Restaurant was quiet and we got a nice window seat. Server (sorry can't remember her name) was lovely and took our order quickly and starters arrived. I had Asian crispy beef and wife had garlic prawns, both of which were delicious; mine in particular seems to have been upgraded and the portion size was huge compared to previous visits. Wife's prawns were large, plumpy and very well cooked. Onto the mains. I had the 8oz rump with a side of onion rings; no sauce because I prefer it without, and my wife had the house salad with an added chicken breast. I have to say it was absolutely perfect. My steak was cooked perfectly and the chips piping hot and a large portion. Again portion size seems to have been upgraded compared to previous visits, where there was only a handful of chips and the onion rings were spot on. My wife's was also perfect and the chicken was delicious and succulent. Overall it was a lovely evening and whatever has changed keep it up and we'll be returning. Thank you 😊

Have eaten there a couple of times when I've stayed at the adjoining Premier Inn, and it's fantastic value if you get the meal deal. The steak dishes are top-notch, always done to perfection, and the variety of starters and sides is great. I really recommend the burnt beef ends (and keep the juice by you until the main for dipping!). The service has always been great, but the most recent time was with Waheed, who really made the meal something special - it's really pro-quality service with him, and it elevates the whole experience to another level. What an absolutely great addition to the team. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending it, particularly if you're staying at the Premier Inn. Great place.

Under done steak. Cold/bearly warm starters. Had the steak sampler and was very under done. Don't ask for there special steak sauce as it's hp and bq mixed together

Have walked past this place many times and always wanted to try it. Took the chance this week and was not disappointed. From arrival friendly staff, although a feeling of 'chaos reigning'. Shown to our table, menus provided. Took a bit of time to get orders given for drinks and then too have them delivered, but not in a hurry, so there no real issue. Food ordered and again delivered in fairly good time. The quality of the food was first rate, but that is what I would expect, ur paying a premium. Food issues. So I ordered a medium rate rib eye steak and got a steak that was one half medium rare, one half medium, but not much of an issue. As an extra ordered surf and turf, prawns option. Expected more than two prawns for the price. So in all content, but felt a little ripped off. You pay for everything as an extra. Meat and chips included, but everything else (sauce/S&T) is extra. And when you are paying a premium, this seems a little over the top. I enjoyed my visit and would happily go back but not at the price they wanted.

The small plate 4 for £21 was the worst. The chicken wings were too dry and too salty and the squid was overcooked! The prawn was just soso. We ordered 14oz rib eyes and followed the recommendation of medium. It turned out not juicy at all and it’s like well done. Not fat and all dry meat The truffle Mac and cheese was soso The chicken grill was also soso

Love this place, food is great and staff are lovely. The service is fab and fast, the person serving us Lisa was chatty and friendly and made us feel comfortable. Great atmosphere will definitely be back.

Served by Lisa, absolutely outstanding. They where attentive and recommended the short rib which was brillaint, melts in your mouth. Cocktails where great too, loved the mango mojito highly!

Great food and service. Lots of small plates to choose from, recommend the butter chicken wings. Went for the red pepper and harissa chicken burger for something different and was full of flavour. Will be back.

Bar and restaurant for the Premier Inn City centre and quite different from any other PI restaurants. Large, modern, decent vibe, lots of booths and lots of steak!!

Very nice service. The food was okay, but not outstanding.

Great lunch out. Food was lovely and Lisa our server was fantastic. We had such a laugh. Starter menu is a bit basic but pleasant enough. Affogato was 1 small scoop of ice cream only but when you consider what you’re paying then you keep it in context. Shame about the drinks as it’s only Pravha or Proscecco. Would be good if a house wine was on offer as well. I upgraded to cocktails which was still a really good deal. Ambience was lacking due to no music but they did say wifi was down. Overall - really good. 😎

Great place to sit and enjoy a meal. We ate lunch had the block sampler 3 4oz steaks made to order. Fillet, Ribey and sirloin. Delicious. And we had the fresh green salad topped with fresh grilled salmon . Waheed.our server was wonderful very personable and informative!

Food was "ok" their special steak sauce tastes like ketchup, it doesn't compliment the steak at all. Service was pretty poor, we asked for several alcoholic drinks and other things but they took forever to come back with any of them, one of the drinks we had to ask twice for. Glass had lipstick on it from the previous user and had to be changed. Worst part of the visit was the toilets. I sat in the cubicle in the men's toilet, the lights are on a motion sensor, the lights went off. The motion sensor is round the corner from the cubicle so you have absolutely no way to activate it again. It was absolutely pitch dark, the door is locked and I have no way to find the door handle/lock for me personally, this was a bit frustrating but this could be a complete panic situation for a lot of people. So you're "mid toilet" in the dark, locked in.....think, how would you react in this situation? I made a point of bringing this up to the server and I was told "aw that happens, we've had complaints about this before, we have mentioned it to managers but they won't do anything". It was the same price as Miller and Carter which Is far superior in every aspect. Go there or one of the many other good steak places in Glasgow, this isn't worth it at all.

TERRIBLE MOTHER’s DAY EXPERIENCE Honestly such a bad experience. I’ve never left a bad review for anywhere in the past, this angered me that much. At first it was okay, the place was very quiet which was surprising since it was mother’s day. Ordered the food and it came quite a bit later, terrible steaks. So dry, so cheap. We then ate the food and no one attended us after, the staff were walking past us every time not clearing the plates I would say 20-30 minutes after we finished. We then had to shout across the restaurant to order desserts, since that’s what the 3 course mother’s day set menu included. The gentleman said he would come take our order. We then waited another 10 minutes…. and we ultimately decided to call it a night! We wanted out that much we payed for desserts that we didn’t get. When we went to pay, the waitress didn’t even attempt to ask how it was or why we were leaving without desserts. Unbelievable. THE PLACE WAS EMPTY. So poorly run the restaurant, I can’t even imagine how that staff would cope if it was busy! Maybe tonight shows why it isn’t busy though! We will never be back.

Nice place with a good selection of beers. The starters were excellent but the steak sampler was a bit chewy. Smallest portion of peppercorn sauce I've ever received either.

First Waheed our server was amazing, personable and pleasant, not over bearing and a credit to the establishment. Seated in a nice booth I had high hopes. Pricey menu did not reflect the standard of the food. Ordered the block burger, brioche bun was soaking wet on the bottom. Melted cheese was lumpy. Paltry side of French fries that were unseasoned and no sauce was provided. No salad or other accompaniment, certainly not worth £19. The triple chocolate brownie was equally inadequate with a watered down chocolate sauce. The restaurant has sliding doors which meant that they stayed open too long resulting in a freezing gust of air frequently. Disappointing
