The Brook Cafe in Charnwood

Alway welcoming and friendly and food is fresh and hot .. one of my favourites in Leicester defo one to visit

The marshmallows were stale and tasted off on the hot chocolate so picked these off. Food was mostly hot. Apparently the pancakes were really good, but the full English was not the best I've had.

The cafe is small and clean. Excellent breakfast. Worth a visit to support small and local businesses.

Called in for breakfast and drinks and they were all fine. Wasn’t very busy but some of the staff were ill mannered. Strange attitude.

Best cafe in the world. The food was extravagant and the service was quick and polite. This visit to the cafe was better than that Mcdonalds at Thurmaston as I got what I ordered ( I didn't manage to get a mcflurry :( )

Poor service, manners, hygiene and product. It was an ok Cafe but gone downhill fast. A salad sandwich consists of just cheese or ham and some lettuce straight out of a supermarket bag and brown and limp. No onion, tomato or cucumber….. just lettuce! Severe lack of hygiene, no hand washing after clearing outside tables!!!!! Nothing nice about the experience, avoid.

Ridiculously good breakfast and coffee. Fresh ingredients, quick and proffesional service and reliable prices. Definitely will back with frends soon

Over an hour wait for terrible food. Service was shocking, literally not a clue what they are doing. Shame really but you need to seriously up your game.

Went to this lovely cafe next to the brook at Syston today , it was our friends birthday and the table was pre-booked for seven people . Jacky one of the owners had dressed the table with flowers a table runner with happy birthday , heart shaped lollipops because today was valentines and a lovely card and bouquet of flowers , what a surprise for our friend. The food all came out at the same time hot and delicious . We all had a great time and nothing was to much trouble , I would definitely recommend. Thanks to all hope to see you again soon .

I visited the cafe on Sunday 9th February for the first time, I actually live in Syston and I had it recommended by a friend who uses it often and recommended it to us. I was pleasantly surprised as it was nice, the food was good but I was a little perturbed at the rude attitude of the lady who was behind the counter who I gave my order to, she just was not interested in my order, was very curt to me and called someone else to take it, Another lady came and looked after us who was lovely and who seemed to be doing everything. The food was lovely and we will certainly visit again but I would like better service initially please.

Found this cafe through out sat nav and decided to give it a try - was worth the little detour. Friendly welcome by the staff. Breakfast was good and value for money.

This place is a real find. Lovely. They're so friendly and even remember your usually order. The small breakfast is more than enough for me. Great coffee too.

Decided to pop in here with my little boy and had a lovely club sandwich for lunch! Lovely, welcoming atmosphere and great food. Will definitely be back again!

Only just moved to the area and came across this place just taking a walk next to the Brook. Lovely proper English breakfast was enjoyed. Small place with loads of charm and great food. Very clean and great quality food.

Un poco alejado de la zona principal de compras este café ofrece excelente comida de calidad y bebidas, aunque se inclina un poco más hacia la parada de la carretera más de un paseo ideal por la tarde el almuerzo. Estar fuera (popular con los dueños de perros que no son más) ofrecido por tráfico porque con muchos cafés continentales. El personal es agradable y servicial. Incluso intenté pedir en español una vez y me funcionó. Las mejores marcas para probar.

Este solía ser un pequeño y agradable café, ahora es sucio, los suelos estaban sucios, mesas sucias, camarera inadecuadamente vestido, no hay prisa para recoger las mesas, generalmente sucio.

Only place I could find open early on a Sunday morning before 10am. Ordered a vegetarian breakfast sandwich which was really nice and filling. My first and not last visit. Friendly staff.

Love it here. They even do a slimming world brekky. Staff cant do enough for you and the food is spot on.

Sido aquí para el desayuno y muy sorprendido de lo que recibes por tu dinero. El personal era muy amable y no te apresuran la puerta cuando haya terminado. Lugar no es muy grande, pero que definen no son de estar encima del otro. Toda la comida recién hecha cuando usted pedir, así que hay un corto tiempo que tienes que esperar por su comida, pero eso no es un problema, ya que el es caliente cuando lo conseguirán. Sin duda volveremos a probar más de la carta. Bien hecho a todo el personal y chef.

Went here for a Sunday morning breakfast , it's my 1st visit and I can say I really enjoyed it I went for traditional English full breakfast ( medium ) you can have small , medium or large , inside Is clean fairly spacious and welcoming, my breakfast arrived and it was hot and freshly cooked , I paid £7 in total for breakfast , coffee orange juice and toast , good value for money in my opinion , I didn't have to wait to long , I would possibly go as far to say it's probably the best cooked breakfast in the area and surrounding areas , I can thoroughly recommend The Brook Cafe with confidence .

Come here for a cooked breakfast some weekends. It is always busy and the food is always great value. Really nice and clean environment with friendly staff.

I have never had a bad meal yet and even now that I'm trying to loose some weight they even serve slimming world brekkies. What more can u ask for. If not on a diet, don't worry you won't come away hungry that's for sure. Fantastic food and staff.

My boyfriend and i only live round the corner from here and we always like to come here for breakfast on the weekends. The staff are really friendly, food always tastes nice whatever you order and the interior is really nice too. Somewhere you can relax and get exactly what it says on the menu.

If you are working on site within 100 miles of this amazing cafe, then just go.Great staff and fantastic Full English Breakfast.10/10 all the guys love it. . . . . Luckily I have to work this Saturday which means I can visit again :-))

Relaxed atmosphere, good service, excellent decoration. The only thing I didn't like is that when you pay by card you get charged 0,50 p . Everything else is exeptional

Food was very tasty, can tell it was freshly cooked. Good service and warm, relaxing atmosphere.The staff are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble, the vegetarian breakfast was lovely and so was the fruit cake! I would definitely recommend you give this place a try.Will go again soon.

While waiting for a couple of hours to get my car fixed in Syston I stumbled on this lovely little café. It was a bright sunny day and I wandered down to the brook to sit in the sun and I came to sit near the café. I could see it was popular with the locals which I always take to be a good sign and was not disappointed when I went in. So much so that when I had walked around the town I went back again as my car was taking longer than expected. Later when sat near it eating some lunch with my granddaughter which was not from there the waitress came out and planted little flags in the flower baskets nearby ( As an easter egg hunt ) and said if my granddaughter took it into the café she would get a chocolate egg. A very nice gesture on half term holidays I thought.

The Brook Cafe used to be friendly, welcoming and relaxing. Just recently, whilst the quality of the food has remained unchanged (wholesome, simple, filling, honest) the atmosphere has dive-bombed. Where previously the lads ate all day breakfasts to recover from a Friday night out, now The Brook is populated by load, uncontrollable children screaming and running amok with no attempt to control on the part of the parents. If you want to be able to hear yourself think whilst eating, be able to talk to your companion without having to shout and repeatedly ask her to say everything again then avoid The Brook and run for the hills. If you love letting your children annoy everybody else this is the new place for you. We now feel the need to eat elsewhere as the staff make no attempt to manage the clientele or their behaviour.

Our first visit to The Brook cafe today. The food was absolutely fantastic, good value for money. A nice generous pot of tea got 2 cups each out of it (2) of us. The food was cooked to perfection, A testiment to how good the cafe is that it didn't take long for it to get full, think we timed our arrival just right.Staff were friendly, just keeping doing what you do. Too many times people are too ready to complain but rarely say when something is done right. Well done to all at The Brook cafe. It won't be our last visit. Thank you :-P

We visited in the morning for a bite to eat and a cuppa, received a friendly welcome from all the staff. We had to wait for a table which is always a good sign, and sure enough the food was fantastic, your missing out if you don't pay this lovely cafe a visit. Highly recommended!

Always a warm welcome for either very nice coffees, or tea and cake or a good breakfast, snack or lunch

3 of us including a very fussy 6 year old visited here today. We did intend to visit "Occasions" which is nearby but because we hadn't booked the owner said she couldn't accommodate us. I'm pleased things turned out the way they did.The cafe boasts a 5 on the hygiene score which is always a priority. It was fairly busy but we managed to get a table easily. The recently vacated tables were cleared and cleaned straight away which is another positive as I hate to eat surrounded by other peoples dirty plates. We ordered 2 paninis. One Brie and bacon and one sausage and red onion along with a ham salad sandwich for my little one, a bowl of cheesy chips and 2 cappuccinos. The food came out in about 10 mins which is perfect and gave us enough time for a natter and a quick scan of the free newspapers which are provided. The waitress who brought out the food was really nice when I reminded her that we still had 2 coffees to follow. She was apologetic and because we had to wait for the coffees a young lady brought over a refund for them even though I hadn't asked for one which was a lovely gesture. All of the staff were really pleasant , smiling chatty and obviously know how to make you feel welcome. The food was great, the salad which came with the paninis was nice and fresh and the coffee was as good as S*******!!I would definitely recommend you give this place a try, it's a short walk from the high street. We left with full bellies and for the price we paid - £14 less the coffees on the house I consider this place great value for money. Would I return? It's a 'yes' from me!

First time to this cafe whilst my car was having tyres, good breakfast and lunch menu and plenty of choice for sandwiches, toasters, panini etc.Coffee was great too and the service brilliant.Definitely going back for more very soon!

Sometimes busy and hard to have a table but consistently good food and service. I am not a lover of cucumber but it always finds its way to my plate.

Me and my wife come to the brook on a regular basis as we live locally. The staff are really friendly and accommodating and the food is top notch. Would highly recommend.

I've been twice now, once with friends from France who loved the English breakfast, and once with my parents for tea and cake. The staff are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble, the vegetarian breakfast was lovely and so was the fruit cake!

i wanted to treat my self to breakfast as was in work late one morning. i ordered the medium breakfast with no sausages and i wanted hash browns. this was no problem at all for the staff who were really nice. was a bit put off once breakfast turned up. every one else seemed to be tucking in and enjoying there food but i was dissappointed. the bacon didnt seem to taste of much and the hash browns just tasted like used grease which i really didnt like, the toast was far too thick for the toast rack as i found it hard to get out. i may try another time of day next time .

And that just the people that work there! I have not long moved to Syston, and stumbled across the 'Brook Cafe' by accident. And I am so glad I did. Love the food, all the girls that work there are great ( happy, lovely, friendly, pretty girls :-) ). ......as a vegetarian I struggle to get variety in food when I go out, but here I have no worries, nothing is too much trouble.What a great place. Highly recommend for a stop off. :-)

Best breakfast I've ever had accompanied by lovely cappuccino. Kids absolutely loved their milkshakes. Will definitely return.

Great food, good atmosphere, my family are always there for breakfast on their days off, especially as it is right round the corner.

Went here last Saturday with my family for lunch, which was good, quite busy but managed to get a table, staff friendly, will return.

Perfect friendly service.... Food is brilliant... To be honest I couldn't fault anything if I tried!In fact I would like to thank all the staff for the brilliant friendly chats, service and food every time i have been in for breakfast, lunch, and even just for a cup of tea.

My son and I drop by often and have always had a relaxed visit. Friendly staff and fabulous service. Cake, coffee and home made soups to die for and the fry ups look lush. Keep up the good work.

Second time we've been in The Brooke Cafe. The first time was "okay". We went in this morning and it was absolutely rammed, so much so we couldn't get a table. Did a bit of shopping and went back and things were much more sane.The service was excellent, the food was cracking and the coffee was nice and strong - just the way I liked it.The only minor tiny thing is they shut at 4 during the week, otherwise I'd have gone down there most days after work for a coffee before heading home. But in the scheme of things that's pretty minor. Very minor. Okay, I'm being picky.

I visited here today with my mum and sister.This cafe is warm,welcoming and cosy.The food we all had was very nice and the cake is to die for and all at a very reasonable price.What a refreshing change to visit an independent business that provides a lovely environment to sit,chat and eat with very friendly service.We all agreed this is a great cafe and we will definitely return and be recommending this cafe to others.Well done The Brooke Cafe.
