Hi my wife and I had Roast Lamb for our meal choice,it was all served up piping hot with plenty lamb and vegetables plus extra gravy.I also had the Chocolate brownie for my sweet and the whole meal was a good experience plus the staff were attentive.

I never write reviews, but felt compelled to do so after our two night stay at the Britannia Inn. We’ve stayed at many hotels, and I have to say that the customer service here has been brilliant. In particular, Kim was exceptional, so helpful and thoughtful, providing guidance and making what would have been a lovely stay in to a magnificent one. This special stay made the cancelled flight and wet weather of no consequence. Thank you!

We went for early evening meal before theatre. We had not booked but they had a table. Place only half full. Nicely decorated restaurant and staff lovely. Varied menu and reasonably priced. We both had chicken curry which was very nice and husband had banana pavlova for dessert which he said was absolutely delicious. I had strawberry cheesecake which was also really nice but so rich could not finish. Generous portions. Would recommend.

Great lunch with the family. Great beer garden with a bouncy castle for the kids. Loved the blue cheese with cajun fries and the chicken chunks!

Stayed here 21/8/24 In there in the camper van area. Service ,food, cleanliness and staff members a+ service. Highly recommend. Couldn't fault anything. Would gladly come back again. Service from the waiter was 100% Thank you

It was not the best. The first thing is that my wife ordered a vegetarian sausage chips and beans. She asked for a childs portion as she was not that hungry. When the food was brought out it was not a vegetarian sasuage but a meat one. Ok no harm as we noticed and she is a vegetarian because of moral values not health reasons. If it was because of health reasons andshe didnt notice what then? I ordered a burger. This has to be the easiest thing to cook in any pub but it was over cooked. I would say a very very very well done burger. I had a couple of bites and left the rest. May have just been a bad day as we have eaten there last year and it was ok.

Great Sunday roast, top quality and plenty of it, lounge bar was perfect along with the staff, my only criticism is whilst chewing I found a piece of string in my food, I pointed this out to the waitress who quietly said sorry. Apart from that was a stunning meal.

One of my favourite eateries in the area, I often visit with family and also with friends. The food and service is always of a high standard, the menu itself is mostly basic stuff but well cooked and presented. I am however very disappointed that there isn’t the option of small plates any more. Like a lot of people I have a small appetite and I hate waste. Surely the profit margin is the same? For me it’s not about the cost of the meal but just having what I can eat on my plate. The normal portions are really big. The option of smaller portions gave this establishment an extra tick, sadly not any more.

Nice pub with lots of space and good outside area. Went twice whilst on holiday, Waves resteraunt service was much more attentive but then I suppose the rest is a pub. Food was of a good standard for a pub without being "wow" special. Very reasonably priced though for the portions.

Called into this pub for a quick drink with my wife on Thursday. It was 9.45pm and they had already called time, so wouldn't serve us. We counted at least 7 other people in the bar drinking at this time. Why are you turning business away?

Fabulous hotel! The reception lady was lovely and showed us to our room. The room was gorgeous, impeccably clean and tastefully decorated. The bed is super comfy and the bed linen was of a gorgeous quality. The bathroom was utterly spotless and beautifully fitted. Dinner in Waves Restaurant was gorgeous too. The staff are attentive and helpful. The food was hot, tasty and a good portion size too (rare to get all 3 elements). Breakfast didn't disappoint either, the coffee was of a good standard and the hot food was simply perfect and again such a big portion. The whole place is beautifully decorated and the team appear to work very hard to make guests feel welcome. Wouldn't hesitate to come back!

First impressions of the Britannia Inn were good. We stayed in the Tywardreath room, it is a big room with a good size bedroom and everything you could need. We had drink in the bar, lovely friendly atmosphere, before eating in Waves Restaurant. Food was reasonably priced and delicious - bonus points for large portions! There was a party going on in the marquee, which wasn't an issue until we went back to our room where we could hear the music very clearly, just something to be aware of if you're travelling with children! Whilst the bedroom was lovely, personally I found the bed very firm. Lovely breakfast in the morning, there is a selection of juice, cereal and yoghurt and a cooked breakfast menu - would recommend the Chef's Pancakes!

Visited for Sunday lunch at the Waves restaurant. Beautiful and spacious restaurant, nicely decorated. We were absolutely blown away by our three course meal and my partner stated it was probably the best Sunday lunch out she’d ever had. All the components of the meal were really tasty, cooked to perfection and well presented. The service was outstanding even though quite busy food came quickly and the waitresses were all friendly and incredibly attentive. Highly recommended and we will be back. ☺️

We had a great stay, The team are excellent and food is first class The rooms are lush and spotless There was Sunday Entertainment on with a duo and a TV Type host (do you have a name) who did make us laugh and we even won in the raffle. We will be back and Fully Recommend

Two of us visited this morning for breakfast. You can choose to eat in either the bar area or the restaurant, we opted for the restaurant. It's a bright, clean, and well-appointed space. From start to end, it was a delight to be on the premises. Switched on staff who were confident and friendly. One full Cornish breakfast, one vegetarian breakfast, two hot drinks, and a juice. The breakfasts were a joy, served hot on hot plates. Kittoes meat products on the full Cornish, I think, so you are already talking quality. So many times we have said we should visit and so very pleased we've finally done it. There's an air of calm and motivated teamwork everywhere. Dog friendly in some area's and the car park is large. Disabled access too. What we saw of the outdoor area was clean and well maintained. I do hope a manager reads this review and compliments the staff - front of house and those you don't see but are working hard behind the scenes - who have created a great place to eat. We will happily be returning. Well done.

Second time spending New Year at The Brittannia. Excellent room at a very competitive price, dinner on New Years Eve was very good, and the party atmosphere to see the new year in was also very good. Special thanks to Kim for taking care of our needs during our visit.

We are never disappointed when we eat here always a good meal and good service. We are not regulars as we live in Cheshire but each time we come to see family we have a meal here. Highly recommended

Eat here 28/12. 2 fish and chips, 1 brisket and a gammon steak. Service and food were great, could not fault anything. My dad wanted beans and an egg with his fish and chips and I wanted 2 eggs on the gammon. Nothing was too much trouble. This venue is always our ‘go too’ when returning from Spain to visit my parents.

We came here for our camera club Xmas get together. Thirty plus of us and could not fault it. Everything ran like clock work. Good food, good company with a great atmosphere. We has a family have eaten here on several occasions and only on a very rare occasion have we felt let down. Nothing is to much trouble and a go to place. Sadly the prices have made this now a rare occasion to eat out. Like special occasions.

Absolutely faultless all round. We attended a club Christmas meal with around 35 others. It was immediately obvious that the dining room and tables were prepared for our evening meal. The staff were attentive, friendly and cheerful from beginning to end. There food all came out at the same time and was piping hot. Those people with any food intolerances were catered for really well. We had a three course meal and each course was appreciated by everyone attending. For a simple Christmas meal, this was exceptional. Over the last eight years as a social club, we have held our Christmas evenings out at a variety of different locations but the Britannia Inn has easily beaten them all. We will undoubtedly book there again for 2024. We are happy to recommend this venue to all our friends. 10/10!

Hi we had a lovely Sunday Roast here yesterday and we both had roast lamb.The whole meal was served in quick time and everything piping hot plus staff very attentive a nice start to the coming Festive Season

Usually unable to fault the food here, but very disappointed tonight as our meals were blighted by frozen fries, not even what I would call chips, despite the gammon and beer battered cod being advertised in the menu as being served with rustic chips. We pay enough for the food, prices have nearly doubled here, but come on…if you charge £18 for a cod meal, or £19 for a 10oz gammon steak meal, I expect the quality to carry through to the chips you advertise on your menu. We were not warned that rustic chips were not available and that we would have to make do with cheap frozen chips. How can you advertise one thing and then sell well short? Sort it out please. Serve what you promise on your menu, bot just what you feel you can get away with!

First had no record of our reservation made a month in advance. We order the rump steaks both to be cooked medium rare (en point). When they arrived they were both overcooked and look like flash fry steaks, not rump steaks. I did complain the waiter said, I will tell the chef probably a cook , but no apology or recompense offered. The vegetables obviously frozen, not fresh at all. The dessert seemed good on the menu, but nothing special probably again not freshly made. All in all very poor and disappointing for the price. NO recommendations from us.
