This is a lovely cafe with a great range of savoury, sweet baked goods, with a reasonably priced range of products. We visited for Sunday lunch at 3.00 with a prior reservation, the place was still quite busy with everyone dining. Food was delicious, very well presented and seasoned, with a great sized portion. Nice range of alcoholic beverages, wines and beer + soft drinks. Will certainly be back!

The Bristol Loaf at The Beacon ticked all the boxes. Absolutely delicious food, fantastic coffee (and I’m picky), plenty of space and lovely friendly staff. I had the roasted butternut squash with winter greens and ricotta - it was just incredibly tasty. The pastries and cakes also looked great but we didn’t have any. Maybe next time! Thank you for a lovely experience.

Used to love this place for a lunch focaccia sandwich, as was reasonable and a decent size for lunch but they’ve recently shrunk them considerably. They’re now almost half the size and all of them are different sizes even when paying the same price, so have stopped coming here sadly. They also swapped out salami in the sandwiches for ham which I presume was to save money but also makes it less worth the prices. Pastries and sandwiches themselves are delicious it’s just not worth the price anymore.

I was looking forward to this visit, prior to seeing Calum Scott. The service was OK, attentive and quick but the food was mixed. My Korean crispy chicken burger was good but my partners Rump steak baguette was awful, fill of gristle and not cooked well and very greasy. What got me most wasn't one of the staff asked about how the food was. It was clearly not good so I think they simply avoided asking the question. For me I would definitely not return, nor would I advise people to visit unless you wanted cakes or coffee

This place was my 'mainstay'. I went a few times every week for the bacon sandwich on sourdough (best bacon sandwich in Bristol) and organised a few work events from here. Sadly they recently discontinued those bacon sandwiches, saying that the sourdough bread is now "reserved for toast only" and now put their bacon on much smaller bread brioche-type rolls I tried but found wasn't able to personally eat. May not be suitable for those with intolerances. A lot less bacon too. I know that companies change things up and sometimes shrink portions to keep costs down but it means I can't go there anymore, can no longer recommend and won't be using it for future events. My quest for a good bacon sandwich begins again...

Great service, food and coffee. It's such a cool gem. I am visiting from Sweden and have been to Bristol many times, but this was my first visit to Bristol Loaf. Got it recommended and decided to go for a Sunday roast. It was by far one of the best ones I have ever had! The meat was delicious and tender, the crackling was crispy and light, and the portions were very generous. The place had a lovely vibe, airy and pleasant and not stuffy as some pubs are. The staff were great - our waiter was very attentive. I warmly recommend this place!

I visited a couple of weeks ago with my partner and we decided to sit in. I've been here before and other Bristol loaf outlets too. The food is good and I will say credit to the kitchen teams. I have two issues with the front of house though. Firstly, I ordered this cake and asked if it was a brioche and was told it was "like an eclair", when it was clearly a brioche and not pastry. Secondly, the waiter doing check backs on the table was very unprofessional in regard to me whilst being weird around my partner. A really weird vibe so I shall not be returning.

We booked a table for 12 people here for breakfast. Arrived before the rest of the group and found our table, ordered a cappuccino and flat white at the till and was told they would bring it over.. waited 10mins still hadn't been bought to the table. Rest of our group arrived and they someone came to take our order so we asked about our drinks. Ordered food and drinks for the rest of the table, drinks arrived for everyone else still didn't have ours. Asked again about our drinks and they finally bought them out after 30mins of waiting. Once food arrived we were all very disappointed, £11 for a traditional breakfast extra £2.50 for mushrooms, beans were hard and dry no sauce at all, sausage was tiny and toast was burnt to a crisp. Best thing about the plate was the poached egg.

Located in the Bristol Beacon, this is a popular spot both for those attending events and for locals. The hot food menu has brunch type items and sandwiches, salads, soup and cakes are also available. As a bakers, you can buy loaves of bread, including sourdough. Awful customer service. Disorganised and stuck up. We were told we could sit down for a coffee and sandwich and pointed to a table. Then told by another server we couldn’t as they had to keep the tables open for hot food. This was not signposted and we only wanted a small table that was not being used or was reserved! Honestly will never come back dispite being a regular and them having good food.

We had a Sunday roast when my brother visited from Poland as he never had one before. The meal was amazing. Everything was perfectly cooked - vegetables were full of flavour and meat was melting in our mouths (we had pork and beef). Portions are generous, however, we felt really peckish and ordered two extra sides - cheese cauliflower and celeriac - which I recommend for a group of four, as they have nicely complemented the meal. Attentive service and good wine list to match the food served. I'm a big fan of the bakery and now can wholeheartedly recommend a Sunday roast on offer.

Nice place. Excellent bread. Some of the cakes are okay, some were horrible. This sour cherry cheesecake on the photo was awful. The chocolate base was fine, cherries on top lovely, the middle bit that's supposed to be cheesecake was the worst thing I ever tried. Tasted like soap mixed with butter, horrible consistency and no actual flavour. The Savoury dishes generally look good and so do pastries. Atmosphere is okay but it's very different when there's a show (busy!) Vs when there isn't. Depends what appeals to different people. Service is fine, counter service.

Had a Sunday roast - food was delicious and plentiful! Both the beef and the veggie option of mushroom wellington were really tasty. Nice option of soft drinks available, shrubs and kombucha and all sorts. We booked a table for 12pm which is the start of their roast service, we were the first ones eating. It was busy with cafe service, possibly busier than usual due to the Christmas craft fair. We still got to order promptly and food came out fairly quickly. More tables had booked for lunch at 1pm and staff were getting pretty rushed off their feet with setting up tables, new orders, bringing food out. So we did have to wait a while to be able to pay. But overall it was a lovely lunch and would definitely recommend!

I just got really bad experience with my wife this morning just after 10am. I went there waiting and deciding what sort of breakfast we should be having. I was standing behind someone in a queue but I wasn't sure whether he'd been served already as he was just on his phone and didn't seem to be waiting to be served, so I asked him if he was in the line and he mocked me because of my English and humiliated me out loud in front of everyone in the cafe in a loud, dramatic, passive aggressive way, so I questioned him on his attitude and told him I wanted to know if he was waiting to order or not. The staff just stared and smirked and didn't help to clarify the queue situation. We ended up leaving and as we were leaving we were still being watched by a member of staff. It made me feel very humiliated and unwelcome with the smirking and lack of help from the staff. I won't be coming again, but on the front of the building there was a beautiful BLM design, so I thought this would be a welcoming place for people, but instead my English was mocked by a customer and the staff didn't help. I'm now sat in work, feeling hurt and disappointed.

My favourite coffee shop in Bristol. Not only is their selection of drinks amazing, but the coffee is very well-made! Their cakes are their main attraction, and justly so: they sport a diverse, creative collection of cakes, many vegan, gluten free options. All the cakes we tried did not disappoint us. The prices are all very worth the quality. The sitting space is very vibrant, well-lit and decorated. The music they played was Studio Ghibli songs as well, which won my heart. It is a very suitable atmosphere for studying (we sat for 4 hours and didn’t get kicked out), catching up with friends, enjoying delicious cakes.

We visited the Bristol Loaf after a trying Saturday morning shopping trip around Cabot Circus and Broadmead. Feeling slightly worse for wear and in serious need of a pick me up, it provided the perfect remedy. A short walk through the stylish interior led us to a welcoming Brew Bar offering two single origin espressos (roasted by Extract and Ritual) and two filter coffees. While consulting with the knowledgeable barista we could feel our mind wandering… not to how much money we must have spent last night or to whether anyone saw our extremely suspect dance moves, but just to the right of us: a counter absolutely laden with delicious looking, freshly baked pastries! The temptation was real. After collecting our thoughts and wiping the drool from our chin, we ordered, paid and found a table. The coffee was top notch: a smooth, tasty latte with perfectly frothed milk that went down a treat. And as for the pastry… it was enormous! (The cinnamon roll was actually bigger than my head, no exaggeration!) In summary, great service, brilliant coffee and top-quality pastries. The Bristol Loaf also offer artisan loaves, substantial breakfast and lunch meals, evening plates and natural wines from Native Vine. We can’t wait to go back!

A querky little farm/cafe well hidden in amongst a residential area. The burrito was a little on the pricey side, but it was absolutely delicious as was the accompanying salsa and mojo verde sauce that it came with (plus salad). Nice to support an independent/local place and from talking to the owner, they seem to have built a nice community around the farm/cafe which is great. If you're a coffee snob like me, you'll enjoy this place too - the flat white was top drawer. I was eating solo, but they were very welcoming and catered for children and pets also.
