A friendly welcome brought us into the restaurant of the Bridge Inn. We were seated, given menus and asked about allergies. The waiting staff (all quite young), were beautifully polite and efficient. Our drinks order was taken and I was impressed that the restaurant manager checked the age of our son before serving him alcohol. Thank you. The food arrived, hot and in good time. We all had the Sunday lunch 'Trio' option, which was extremely good and filling. The meat was tender, moist and perfectly cooked. All the vegetables were fresh and also perfectly cooked. The Yorkshire pudding was super! What really impressed me was that although the Bridge Inn is a chain pub/restaurant, you would never have known it. It had the feel and ambience of a well run family pub. Thank you for a lovely meal. We have already decided will be back the next time we are down from Yorkshire.

Spur of the moment decision that I fancied a Sunday roast. A lovely welcome when we walked through the door. A band playing in the garden sounded great. Wonderful food, so much so, we had dessert too. Staff were lovely and friendly. They offer 20% off if you have a bluelight card, which I didn't realise until we were leaving, so I missed out this time, but I'll definitely remember next time. Overall a fab visit

I went here last night with some friends and family to celebrate my 60th birthday. We had a fantastic time. The staff were great even before we got there as I had to call a couple of times to change things on our booking and nothing was a problem to them, I was treated professionally but in a very friendly way. So lovely. Then when we arrived the greeting was bright and friendly and that mood carried on through the rest of the evening. The food was excellent and the staff were quick, professional and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We all had a great night, we were definitely the loudest table so I apologise to the other diners 😬 but we were only having fun. I would highly recommend the Bridge Inn, no matter what you're there for I think you will be treated very well. 10/10 and a big gold star from me. 😁

Very nice and clean pub, staff were very polite and we went on a day where the kitchen temp reached over 35 degrees so shut for a little bit for safety of staff. We liked that it was explained well and although we missed out on dessert we really enjoyed our mains and fully understood why the kitchen had to close for the staff to get a chance to cool down. We will visit again and definitely have a dessert next time as well 😄

Sunday lunch yesterday with my daughter , lovely food and very friendly service , one of our favourite places to eat out .

Was really excited to visit as the venue is absolutely gorgeous but I just left with a disappointing feeling. From the minute we walked in it just felt like we were being an inconvenience to the man on the bar. There was no friendly chat not even a hello, it felt like asking for menus and ordering was a bother to him. I completely understand that people can have bad days, we all are all human but it just left a bad impression. On top of all of this I was hoping the food would make up for it but it was just average, nothing that would make us return. Was really sad as I had high hopes so unfortunately wouldn’t visit again

Ordered the special for £16.99. Belly pork. It arrived. OMG. The size of a match box with a bit of mash and a bit of broccoli. You're having a laugh.

Disappointing. £7.50 for prawn cocktail manky lettuce. Few prawns watery sauce rock hard cold ‘bread’ should be ashamed of sending that out. Staff saw manky lettuce n reacted but never said a word. No point complaining to them when that happens. The female server was quite brusque in manner most of time so didn't feel could say anything. Not well didn't want a scene in the restaurant. She was pleasant when asking for money ! No wonder doing 30% off mains to try n get people in. Chewy dried out chicken after for main could hardly saw with a steak knife. Food went cold really quick. Mixed grill was asked for well done not burnt. Got bloody and chewy. Will not return. Our food cost over £100 with discount This place used to do lovely top notch food. Not anymore. If you got any sense you will go somewhere else. Two points for family time.

We went for a 73rd wedding anniversary family meal. Meal was fine but for some reason the carrots (on 2 meals) were served up as one or two giant long carrots rather than cut into bite sizes. It looked awful on the plate. We had 3 courses and was happy with the quality. Service was quite slow (2 hours from beginning to end) even though it wasn’t busy, but I was more bothered about the lack of friendliness! There’s a board outside welcoming you in but when you go in there was no cheery welcome, no smiles & no chatty conversation (only between themselves) There was no check to see how the meal was, no offer of ordering more drinks. I honestly felt as though we weren’t welcome & was intruding in their space!

Had a meal here Sunday late afternoon. On arrival car park was busy, walked into the establishment & there was no one inside only 1 other table eating. Got drinks, was fine. Upon ordering they had no steaks left & a few other items we was made aware off. So we all ordered, food came out fast but was such a disappointment. Kids meal was cold & the dippers over cooked so was like rock. The burger was awful & colslaw very old as it had started to go a funny colour, portion sizes very small. Left most of it. The dessert which we continued to order as still hungry ended up being ice cream with frost bite. This used to be a lovely place to eat & something has gone terribly wrong here. No other customers came in the whole 2 hours we was here. They even turned the lights off in the back room. Staff was very polite & attentive however not really dressed all that well to say they are front of house. Toilets Also needed a clean. After spending money here we shall not return again as it’s just not what it used to be. We didn’t complain as we don’t like to offend but I thought I should leave a review so others don’t get caught out like we did. The place is lovely if you just wanting a drink & id imagine in summer for a drink it would be nice too but the food is very very poor.

Food was just awful. the food came within minutes, so obviously they had managed to reheat it up quickly. Chips were not cooked properly, the chilli had chewy bits and seemed slimy. Coffee was watery. I did mention that things were not right but the bar guy just said that he just presses the button on the coffee machine.! This was the worst meal I have had for ages. Really not nice.

As usual, excellent food and very hospitable and friendly staff. What more could you ask for on a dreary Sunday afternoon?

I meet a group of friends to eat here regularly. We choose it because the service is good, the atmosphere (and room!) is warm, and best of all, there isn’t any ‘background’ music, just customers chatting. There’s plenty of variety on the menu, to suit all requirements and staff always happy to advise or adjust if necessary.

We booked our Christmas day dinner well in advance as tables were been booked up. Walked in at 2pm to a fabulous atmosphere and shown to our table. We all had the turkey for mains and it was stunning. All three courses followed by coffee could not have been better. The staff here are brilliant extremely well mannered and really efficient. Our Christmas day was made perfect. Massive thanks to Mary and the whole team.

Awful food, appealing portions & ultimately extremely overpriced for how small and how rubbish the food is. Soup filling half of a very small bowl for £6.50 and Sunday dinners served with half of the items listed missing.

A interesting pub, next to the river. Bright and spacious. Enjoyed the two course lunch menu at £15.75 a person. I had chilli and rice, which was hot and tasty. Food was served quickly and bar staff friendly and helpful.

The pub was quiet when we arrived for an evening meal. Even so, I was really impressed with the speed and quality of service. The food was hot and delicious and the beer was well kept. I will definitely be back next time I am in the area

Visited for the first time this afternoon. Very nicely decorated and clean with a good atmosphere. Lovely welcome from the two front of house staff (guy with ponytail and blonde lady) had Sirloin Steak which for the price was very good indeed - no gristle and perfectly cooked. We had not booked today and were greeted very warmly by Mary and Darren - Mary even remembered our drinks order from last time! Our Sunday roasts were quickly served, lovely hearty portions and well presented. Delicious! We are always impressed with the quality of service and cleanliness of the surroundings. We will certainly be back again soon. Our hosts make you feel like personal friends.

The staff were excellent from the time we arrived and through out our meal, very attentive. Our meals were served quickly and we enjoyed all them. Definitely will be going again.

This place is let down by allowing workmen, in dirty work clothing, to take over the bar area which is very off-putting to us paying diners, and restricting us to where we can sit. We were steered to an area where workmen were sitting drinking (on the nice furniture in their dirty clothes). They were swearing a lot and VAPING in there! Clouds of smelly vape filled the area. Won’t go again.

Food old and inedible and steep at £15 a meal. Staff rude. Kitchen staff just as rude through the doors. Especially male manager in white shirt. It’s hard times for many families currently and if this was a treat you’d be gutted.

Avoid…..Absolutely dreadful food and dreadful service! Baked Beans were a brown/ black colour as if they’d sat there all day! Chilli and nachos were basically the same brown beans but even drier with curdled sour cream. The portion sizes would not even fill a child, eg a portion of cheese was served in a ketchup pot. There were flies everywhere which completely made you feel sick trying to land on your food. The staff are miserable and seem to have an issue if you ask for anything else to the point of loudly voicing their opinions because we asked for some extra cheese which gain came out in a ketchup pot! We will never visit here again…. It is the worst eating place I have been too ever!!

Went here on Saturday 16th to celebrate a birthday as a group of 5 and could not have had a nicer meal. The server was brilliant, really helpful and funny and the food.... WOW! I had the soup of the day which was Butternut Squash and was hands down the nicest soup I've ever had. For mains I had the pie of the day which was steak and ale... oh my gosh it was incredible. Everything was cooked to perfection and we will definitely be back!!

We all 4 really enjoyed our 2 course dinner meals on Saturday evening - we began with Nachos for 4 - followed by Chicken Masalla, Chick Curry, Sampi & Chips & Meat Pie of the day dishes - All were excellent quality and perfectly cooked & all at reasonable prices. Another lovely lunch in this local traditional riverside pub. Easy to book. A genuinely friendly welcome. Really comfortable, attractive decor, cozy, modern, well maintained. Extensive menu. First visit here after many years and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly, the service was prompt and efficient. Good menu choices and reasonable prices. The food was good, the atmosphere very relaxed, the outdoor seating area lovely. We will return.

It's the only pub I've seen serve Erdinger on draught, it's served some of the best and worst fish and chips I've ever had, portion sizes change every time I go, and it's gorgeous inside and out. A really lovely pub for locals and visitors alike, making it better than the white hart already. The service is brilliant and quick, everywhere is clean, and there's a bar area and restaurant section, in addition to the outdoor riverside section. There's a good selection of wines and both the Hunter's Chicken and the Lamb Shank always seem to be good bets, even at the kitchen's shakiest of days. I'm probably a bit generous as I've been coming here for years, but it's usually an above-average experience for an average cost.
