The Bridge House in Huntingdonshire

We have been to the bridge many times and always have great food and great service. The staff are all very friendly. There is a nice space outside looking over the river.

Lovely relaxed, atmosphere. Great service. Varied and interesting menu. Reasonable prices. What more could you want? Will definitely be back.

This was a catch up birthday lunch with a friend. We were left to enjoy our meal at our leisure whilst chatting. The food was well cooked and seasoned and delicious. The cost was average for pub food. It is a very extensive menu and I wonder how they'd cope if the restaurant was full and lots of different meals were ordered but ours were both excellent today. The place is nicely decorated and I had a beautiful glass for my brandy. I couldn't fault today after they transferred our food on to warm plates. Why oh why do places serve food on stone cold plates? 🥺 It is beyond me.

Early afternoon drinks with friends very quiet so short of atmosphere but bound to be busy later. Superb riverside location but weather not conducive to outdoor siiting on the terrace.

Handsome building, lovely location. Beautiful food (I had the Salmon Tagliatelle, it was fantastic and staff very happy to accommodate my dislike of asparagus, swapping it out for some perfectly cooked broccoli), superbly well kept pint of Landlord suggesting beer and beer line care is absolutely spot on. Attentive staff, can't fault the service. Absolutely will be back when I'm in town again!

Very good. The restaurant has been revamped and looks smart. The menu on offer has a lot of choice and is well prepared. Can't fault the service given by the staff. They were very attentive. Prices are as reasonable.

Update: March 2024 Nice welcome and the dining area is pleasant. The prompt service asking for our drinks order was good, but overall, service was just a bit too quick - I understand that they want to move covers through, but if you're dining out for pleasure, it's nice to have thinking time and not dash through the process. The menu is extensive, but includes a lot of dishes that work well from frozen. Plenty of fish choices and a pub grub/Italian vibe so plenty of yummy things to choose from. The cheese burgers are good, not chewy, well seasoned and nice garnish. The lamb shank was generous and tasted great. The cod was somewhat over-cooked, but still tasty. The beer selection here is now great if you like a session bitter - Greene King IPA and Timothy Taylor makes a hard decision, but a nice problem to have. Sensible prices make it easy to return, no need to wait for a special occasion. Will definitely return sometime soon. Previously: Nice, good value food with a decent selection of beers. The fish pie and cottage pie are always very good.

Having spent several evenings in this restaurant over the last few weeks I have been very impressed with the quality of the food and the standard of service. The variety of food is excellent and is very nicely cooked. The waiters are pleasant and polite and friendly. At the end of the night, the bill is a pleasure too - way less than usual and fantastic value for money. Highly recommended to everyone.

This is by far the best place for a meal in town. Sensible menu choices (including halibut, yum yum); sensible and not extravagant wine list; very pleasant owners and attentive and capable staff. Everything here is perfection.

Blonde manager was completely rude and complained we were loud in a pub. Group spent £50+ on drinks just to be essentially removed for laughing and having a good time

Visited for lunch and hadn't eaten here before. The menu was quite diverse and large which is of concern for me normally however the food was very good and much better than I was anticipating. Will be visiting again and would recommend. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

We met friends for lunch earlier today and chose The Bridge House for the town centre location by the river and the interesting and varied menu shown on their website. We were politely shown to our window table with the River Ouse flowing by just a few metres away. I understand The Bridge House is run by an Italian family and therefore the meal unsurprisingly had an Italian influence. The pan-fried Halibut and Lemon Sole were delicious as were the wonderful lamb cutlets cooked pink as requested. Be assured our lunch was way above 'Pub Grub' standard and deserves to be recognised as such. I doubt anything we ate today had seen the inside of a microwave oven! Service was polite and attentive and I applaud the management for restricting dogs to the bar, regardless of how 'well behaved' their owners claim them to be! I for one object to eating in close proximity to someone's four legged friend. Well done The Bridge House - at last St Neots has a restaurant that can be called a little bit special.

We were shown to a table in the bar area and clearly had 2 (well behaved) dogs with us. We sat for a while, ordered drinks and then a different member of staff informed us we couldn’t sit in this area with dogs. He showed us to a different table but started walking through the restaurant area?? Another staff member stopped us and informed us we couldn’t go through there with dogs. Meanwhile our first table at the bar (which was definitely a dog friendly area) was given away! We were left awkwardly lingering while the staff seemed completely clueless. We weren’t going to hang around to be shown a 3rd table that we would no doubt have been moved from so we left.

Well something we've been looking to do since January really, we always eat out for Xmas day and thought as we were visiting parents this would be ideal , 3 children (1 gluten free) and 6 adults, we rang several times to ask about there GF menu, we even offered to bring our own gravy and Yorkshire pudding but was advised "it's fine we can cater for you all" firstly the bar bill my wife was quoted £67 for 9 drinks, lager cider Guinness 3 Cokes 3 limes and soda's, then their was no gluten free starter for the xmas menu so my daughter had to have melon and Parma ham, which she ate, the next was the mishap of the Xmas dinners, 4 adult turkey 3 children turkey (1gf) 2 adult beef, 4 turkey ad came out and then 2 more ad turkey given to the kids and then a gf turkey no Yorkshire and no gravy sorry we dont have gf gravy 🤢🤢,so gave her some warm cranberry sauce better than nothing i guess, then brought out 2 more children's dinners as they were given ad ones by mistake and then 2 more Turkey and two beef eventually , then dessert finally a gr option, all desserts.sorted except my other daughter we eventually got her dessert after we had all finished ours, now to add as much as this was a disaster, the food tasted really nice albeit for 9 and a couple of drinks was just under £500, soon as we asked for an itemised bill the drinks was only £45 so where they got £67 god only knows, who ever is tje manager here needs to be on shift as it was clear there was no ome took responsibility for any mistakes and when the bill eventually arrived the guy offered no discount no reason but jist wanted full payment ,

Love the ambience and the food. Great service and great view of the Swans floating by on River Ouse that flows by tirelessly.

Great Bistro style food at the Bridge House St. Neots. We had the Christmas Menu, which was thematic and very reasonably priced. Can't fault the fish and meat cookery, it was all spot on. I'm a sauce person, so I would have liked that area to be better but can't beat a perfectly good steak. I'll be back!

Came here a week ago for mine and my sons birthday. There were 19 of us. Service was very good. They catered good choices for children and vegetarians. A wide variety of choices from the main menu. Very friendly staff too. Lovely food. I would recommend this resturant. We had an enjoyable evening.

This is unquestionably the best eating place in St Neots. The owners are always present and clearly really care that you have a pleasing time. Good menu and one or two unusual items; I love the halibut. Surprisingly moderate prices.

Had lunch at the Bridge House today with my partner. With both had the chicken wings, followed by the bacon and cheese burger with chunky chips. The food was excelent and the portions were the perfect size to leave you full but not overstuffed. The staff were brilliant and friendly. They checked in on us but not too often. The service was also very quick but it didn't feel like we were been rushed. Overall, it was a great place to grab lunch and I would definitely go back. If you are visiting St. Neots, I would suggest you pay it a visit.

The best view a pub can offer in St. Neots. The staff is friendly and the service is great. Best to visit on a sunny day or a warm evening by the river. Rates are quite reasonable and great portion size for chips.

Today was our first visit under the new ownership. I ordered a salmon dish, and whilst it was ok, it definitely wasn't worth the £20 we paid. My partner knocked his drink over, and the waitress just stood their and continued to talk without even offering any form of help. My partner had to ask for a cloth. Then when she brought out our desserts, her finger caught the plate, and she stood their wiping her finger against the side of the plate, in front of us. Slightly off putting. The chicken wings were not nice either, so I can't say I was overly impressed. Such a shame as this place has potential.

Since the Bridge House was taken on by the present owner it has immediately become the best place to eat in St Neots by far. Pleasant and attentive staff who know their job; a fantastic menu; well presented and well-prepared food; and an exceptionally obliging...

We booked a table for four to have Sunday lunch, we were quickly seated and given a menu. We made our choices and they came fairly soon, our meals were good quality and enjoyable. We were then asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu, we decided not to have anything further. We paid and had ours drinks to finish, unfortunately this is where the service failed. We where asked to take our drinks somewhere else because "the table was booked" how could it be!! We had booked it, just because we weren't having a sweet doesn't mean that we should vacate the table before we had even chance to savour our meals and finish our drinks. Its not polite to be harried out of our seats, this needs to be considered.

Met here as it is around a half way stop point between myself and my mother's homes. While a few human errors were made, they were innocent mistakes and effected our time here in no way whatsoever. The food was amazing, the servers are efficient and friendly, and one server (he may have been the owner) took notice to the fact that it was my mother's birthday - he made no hesitation in making a big deal and helping us celebrate, even bringing out a slice of cheesecake with a candle. Amazing experience, and we will be coming here to meet more regularly! Keep it up guys x

Took my husband, son and grandson for lunch. Haven’t been for years but will be going again now. Can’t fault anything at all. We had burgers, perfectly cooked and fresh, grandson had chicken from kid’s meal, lovely. Chocolate fudge cake was next even though we were full…delicious. Excellent service, affordable prices and good size meals. Praise to the chef too. Definitely recommend, in fact, already have.

Well positioned pub by a river with a reasonable amount of garden tables ,bonus was waiter/waitress service. I opted for an Italian pasta dish cooked perfectly. Drinks reasonably priced. Worth a try if you're in the area.

Food was great but had to constantly seek attention from staff and plates were not cleared promptly with one left even while dessert was served (the only thing preventing a 5 star review from us). Perhaps only a small thing but a shame as the staff themselves were very friendly.

This place is next to the river. I enjoy my friday evening with my friends here with food and drinks. The chips/fried are the best i have had in st neots. they are so good. A must go place in the evening to sit next to river, enjoy drinks and food.

We were a large family get together for lunch at the Bridge House this Sunday. We had such a lovely time, the food, service was second to none. We will comeback soon and highly recommend.
