Fantastic pub with great atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent beer selection. Good food and a lovely outdoor seating area on alobg the river bank, makes it a top spot for lunch. Highly recommend!

Arrived at 5:55pm for a few pints of Old Speckled Hen. No you're not, we close at 6pm. Oh! So, do they close at 6pm because there are no customers, or are there no customers because they close at 6pm 🤔

Pop in to this place accidentally as was very hungry and other places around was with closed kitchens.. I was very surprised how everything went smoothly and delightful! Food arrived quickly and was hoot and flavorful, staff was friendly, helpful and kind.. maybe missing some knowledge behind bar though, but it’s okay.. easy for me to judge when I have 8 year experience 😏😅 Price was okay too, high variety to choose from all menus they provide 👍 will come back for sure 🙌

Lovely sun trap next to the river. Did their 2 courses for £15 and it was filling as well as the service brilliant.

A group of 5 of us headed here today for lunch and drinks. The service was shocking, with staff actually running around outside trying to take orders for all tables inside and outside. The food was terrible, very clearly all frozen food just reheated. We each had something different and all were tasteless and lukewarm. Wouldn’t waste my money here again.

Extremely poor customer service. Waited 40 minutes before they took our order despite multiple requests from us. One waitress even blocked our request with her hand in a “stop” gesture and then carried on walking past us. Food took about 40 minutes to arrive and people who were seated after us had their starters and main courses delivered before ours. The soup was tepid although the bowl was very hot. When we asked for it to be reheated, it was taken away and returned 5 minutes later at the same tepid temperature as before. No apology given until right at the end after we had paid. The location is lovely, the atmosphere was good, the food was ok, the staff were lacking in customer care/ hospitality training. It would be very unlikely that I would eat here again.

Terrible lunch experience. Service was very poor, waiting staff overwhelmed, stressed and quite rude. Can't imagine what it was like in the kitchen. They took half an hour to take our order then almost another hour before we saw any food, in the meantime we watched other tables arrive, order and get served. When we questioned this we were told 'well they have starters' followed by 'there's only two of them' (there were five of us, we saw three tables of two served before us, and a table of three). When the food finally arrived it was very disappointing. Luke warm soup, bread with no butter, niscoise salad with just bits of egg white on top, tasteless pasta. It's a shame because the place is nice, would have a good atmosphere if the customers were happier! No manager to be seen. Very poor, would not recommend.

First time here after a recommendation by a friend. A very varied menu, small but excellent wine list and decent beer, although a trifle too cold for my taste. The menu covers all sorts from pizza and burgers to more exotic choices, like lobster. Portions are between large and gargantuan, so don't order if you're only slightly peckish! Service was excellent, there were only small criticisms- the butter for my cheese board (cracking cheese, Grommit!) was too hard, the chair sent my bum to sleep, the coffee machine was switched off rather rapidly and the heating wasn't on- but they are all minor gripes. The food was excellent, the drinks good and the service, already mentioned, very good. Can't wait to go again!

The Bridge House is still our favourite pub dining in St Neots. Since the current owners took over a few years ago, it's just been consistently good. That little friend potatoes with garlic and salt are to die for! I usually get the liver, my partner gets the steak pie, kids love the Italian options and burgers. Profiteroles for pudding are the best around. Better still, the owner has just done a really thoughtful revamp outside, lovely copper lamps, new signage and a beautiful paint job. Can't wait to sit outside and enjoy a pint in the sun this summer. 🌞

Probably one of the better eateries in Sta Neots. Lovely food served fresh and hot. The service is excellent and there is delightful outdoor seating overlooking the river. The owners are Italian, so as well as the very good British dishes, they also serve wonderful Italian food, including the best risotto I have ever eaten. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

My husband decided to treat me to Sunday lunch. For starters, we both had the chicken liver pate, with caramelised onoins , rocket and toast, delicious. Then I had salmon with balsamic vinegar on a bed of rocket, roast potatoes, carrots, green beans, tomatoes, and brocoli . My husband had roast beef with all the trimmings. The food was lovely and the service very good. Just one small thing, when I made the booking a week before I asked for one o'clock . I was asked how many people? I replied two, the gentleman said oh that's good." I can fit you in. When we sat at our table, there were several empty tables.It seemed a bit odd for him to say that.

Came here with family members and enjoyed the meal - mostly! The Christmas menu looked very attractive for two courses and we had the garlic mushrooms which was a huge serving and delicious. The lamb shanks and the turkey dinner also nicely cooked and good value. Only problem was we arrived at 5.20pm and I would not recommend eating as early as this as there were very few people there and the place was very cold, no radiators on. They were put on after we complained, and we only warmed up as we finished our meal and a lot more people arrived to a place that by then was warm!! Service was very good.

While we could not fault the lovely food and excellent service my evening was spoilt when, as a wheelchair user I needed to visit the toilet. There is NO disabled toilet provision! I was told I could use the ladies. Access was down narrow corridor with difficult right angled turn into the toilets. Two cubicles but only one large enough to get wheelchair in and we then found we could not close cubicle door! Very embarrassing experience.

Visited the Bridge House with old friends to celebrate Christmas. We had a wonderful time. The food was excellent apart from some of the veg which was a bit hard and needed more cooking.

Booked last minute for Sunday Lunch with a friend. Great Roast Dinner, friendly service and great atmosphere.

Fabulous food with 5 star service from the friendly staff. Menu is great with British favs, pasta, pizza, seafood, meat dishes. All great value too. Highly recommend

I wanted a special meal to celebrate a friend’s 90th birthday who does not eat meat. She had the medley of seafood and I had the sea bass in lemon sauce. Both were beautifully fresh and delicious. Service was very good, topped by a candle and rendition of happy birthday from the staff. Good seafood never comes cheap but this was good value, so highly recommended. I’ll definitely be back!

What a lovely evening, 6 of us all enjoyed our generous portions and tasty well balanced flavours of fish and chips, Arrabbiata pasta, spaghetti carbonara and spaghetti broccoli. Very attentive and helpful staff.

From the moment we walked in we were warmly welcomed. Drinks were ordered and brought straight away. The menu is great with lots of variety and there were lots of things I could have chosen. The food tasted great and the service was excellent. We had several servers. None too intrusive and all very friendly. We left and both said we will come back. It was a lovely dining experience and one I will revisit soon for definite. Good value too.

Delightful little pub and restaurant, very cozy with a real fire lit. Lovely pint and incredible chips! Well worth a visit.

There were 4 of us for a lunchtime meal. Three starters, four main meals and three desserts. Plus drinks and coffees. We all really enjoyed our meals very good. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.

Didn’t eat and only popped in for one pint with a few mates. We were told we were being loud by an older waitress (we really weren’t) who then harassed us by standing next to us and refusing to move. When we told her she didn’t have to do this she became incredibly rude and swore at us (ironically, she was loud). Complained to the manager who was also rude. The new set up is dreadful and I won’t be going back in there. Such a shame as this is the reason pubs close.

1 Maria, a server, was extremely rude to us telling us to ‘f—- off and leave’ after accusing us of being loud within the pub. Couples next to us didn’t even know of our presence. When we asked to speak to the manager about Maria’s customer service, he was extremely dismissive of our customer and showed zero care for our experience. I wouldn’t wish Maria’s “customer service” on any custom and I’d avoid the ‘restaurant’ pub

We visited The Bridge House for lunch and were greeted and seated by friendly staff. Our drinks were quickly brought to our table as were our meals after ordering. All four meals were excellent. The servers were all friendly and helpful and were attentive without being intrusive. It has been seven or eight years since I last visited The Bridge House and it barely merited one star then, hence the reason I never returned. Fast forward to this visit and it is most worthy of five stars now it has changed hands. It is now very well managed and it was a pleasure to eat here. Our two guests from Scandinavia also enjoyed it very much. We will be back.

Only drank but envious of food being served up to others! You can’t get closer to the Great Ouse river than this pub, smack in the lovely old town of St Neots!

We were a party of 10 adults and a child, guests with severe allergies and disabilities. We booked for Sunday Lunchtime. The menu choices were able to cater for everyone’s needs, they were willing to adapt our choices, checked all the allergens and advised accordingly. The restaurant was very busy, we found that the staff were professional, welcoming and friendly. We chose a variety of dishes and all were well presented and very tasty. Portion sizes were generous. Definitely recommend the Sunday Roasts.

Pleasant place for a quick pint!

We are regulars here and have never once found anything disappointing. The owner always greets us warmly; our order is taken efficiently; the food is well prepared and presented. Moderate prices. Everything as we would wish it to be.

A friend and I popped in here today as where we had planned to go was closed for a private function, we were looking for a light lunch and a drink and boy did it exceed our expectations. Very friendly staff, beautiful river location, yummy food and very reasonably priced. Sadly I am not a local to the Bridge House but should I ever be in the area again, I would defo head here.

I used to love this place but now there are too many staff looking after each table so you have 3 different people asking the same question. The food is amazing though

The bolognese was mint 👌🏽 but the chicken and mushroom cream sauce pasta was not it. We have had it at the restaurant and it was great but for delivery it just wasn’t the same. The pizza was nice though. Food was still warm when it was delivered so that’s a plus .

Sat outside, overlooking the river on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Only had a drink. Service and atmosphere were both good.

We had a large table with friends and family. The food was absolutely spectacular, the menu was huge which does make me worry sometimes but everything ordered was delicious. Pubs looking great inside and out and the staff were fantastic.

Food was completely on point , I had the brocoli spaghetti and it was delicious , partner had the burger and said it was equally delicious.

Nice pub right on the river, you can eat (didn't have food here), drink and watch the world go by. Was nice chatting to the locals who were a friendly bunch. It's also at the start of the high street shops, so a great location.

Popped in for lunch and glad we did, the food was excellent and the staff could not have been better. We will be going again and have recommended to friends.

Walked along from St Neots campsite and found this gem. Sat out on riverside terrace having drinks and food. Great atmosphere and reasonably priced pub food.

The first time I ate here under the new management, it was fairly quiet, and everything went well. Today, however, I had a very poor experience. The terrace was packed. The drinks were served promptly, and they took note of our food order quickly. We asked a server if we could move to the table behind (40), and she helped us move. About 30 min later, they brought our entrees to our original table (35), and we explained to this waitress what was going on. She said she would make a note in the kitchen. About an hour after they had taken note, our mains hadn't arrived and we asked another waiter, who explained that the chef had our food ready, but they didn't know where table 35 was. Mind you, they hadn't brought any food to any of the tables 35 or 40. He went to the kitchen, which we assumed was to get our food, only to see him go to another table to serve their food. We talked to the manager and explained the situation, to which he only replied "I am sorry, I am so sorry". Our food was nowhere to be found. We decided to leave. When paying, they brought up the whole bill! We of course said that we would only pay for what we had, and he corrected it. All in all, we went in with high expectations after our first experience, and left disappointed and hungry.

Visited this pub 3 times in a week. Firstly Sunday evening closed. Thursday morning for coffee closed Friday evening for dinner no walk ins as only two chefs. Complete waste of time.

Nice restaurant!! It exceeded my expectations... Good atmosphere, excellent food and drinks, the service was very attentive at all times, very efficient. To complete the visit it must be said that it has incredible views of the river, I think they are the best... Totally recommended!!😉

Eight of us ate there today food was excellent but it was clearly noticeable that the governor was not there. Service was appalling we were stuck up in the corner of the restaurant and after the main course nobody came near to offer us desserts or coffee. We gave up in the end; their loss!!

When the new owners took over, as a vegetarian who like pub food to be just that, I was unsure. Having tried a few times I am impressed with the food and the staff are all lovely. I would still like to see more pub food for vegetarians for example halloumi fish and chips would be a great addition and also a veggie roast! The river terrace is one of the best in the area and if you want a decent meal better than you average pub (particularly if you like seafood i have been told) then give them a try. Good value these day too!

Update: July 2024, still good. Quick service, tasty food, nice people and beer. Update: March 2024 Nice welcome and the dining area is pleasant. The prompt service asking for our drinks order was good, but overall, service was just a bit too quick - I understand that they want to move covers through, but if you're dining out for pleasure, it's nice to have thinking time and not dash through the process. The menu is extensive, but includes a lot of dishes that work well from frozen. Plenty of fish choices and a pub grub/Italian vibe so plenty of yummy things to choose from. The cheese burgers are good, not chewy, well seasoned and nice garnish. The lamb shank was generous and tasted great. The cod was somewhat over-cooked, but still tasty. The beer selection here is now great if you like a session bitter - Greene King IPA and Timothy Taylor makes a hard decision, but a nice problem to have. Sensible prices make it easy to return, no need to wait for a special occasion. Will definitely return sometime soon. Previously: Nice, good value food with a decent selection of beers. The fish pie and cottage pie are always very good.

Quite busy weekday early evening very efficient service

Rude waitress - Party of 9 greeted by a nice lad at the bar who prepared our large table. An older woman working there seemed to be too big for her boots and was rude to us 3 separate times (before we even ordered). Didn’t order food because of this and we walked out. She needs some customer service training urgently.

I had the Sunday roast dinner. Disappointed for £20. Half a dozen very small, possibly new, roast potatoes. Two florets of broccoli, five thin fingers of carrot and about five runner beans. A couple of thinly sliced pieces of roast beef hidden under a large Yorkshire pudding. The meal was served so quickly I wondered if it was already plated for quick service. Pudding was the saving grace. On the way out I noticed that lots of people were having other meals from the menu. So therefore assume that the roast dinner is not their strong point!

We went as a family group of seven for a birthday celebration booked for a lunchtime meal. This was our first visit since it had been taken over and we were very impressed with the friendly welcome we received, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We didn’t have to wait too long for meals to arrive and we were all very happy with our choices. We will definitely be returning to the Bridge House where customer service is first class, they made our celebration special.

A lovely night out overlooking the river. The restaurant was clean and the staff were pleasant and friendly. There was a good range of food to choose from, there is a leaning towards fish on many of the items. The restaurant badly need to look at the details in the menu however. A meal containing cheese (camembert) is not vegan and if a meal comes with cheese that needs to be mentioned on the menu. I did mention this at the time and the member of staff I spoke to said that the issue had been mentioned before by other diners?

Nice location on the river, we wouldn't recommend if you have an allergy as they don't seem to follow guidelines or understand the difference between vegetarian and vegan, which isn't great if you have a milk/egg allergy or are lactose intolerant. The other guests did enjoy their meals. Sub par experience with several staff members as well when talking through some of the issues, though the owner was great. We likely won't be returning due to allergy risk and poor handling.

Love the pub and atmosphere and views, however, comfort food was basic, and the lamb shank was a bit on the expensive side, dry and tasteless. And a teaspoon of vegetables are not exceptable.

Unfortunately the food was mediocre, the service......never have I complained of too many staff, but here there were! Standing by our table chatting, making it difficult for us to talk to one another, different staff asking numerous times if we needed to order, when order had already been taken. I advised the staff member about the issues with the food, to which I received no acknowledgement. Food - very very disappointing. Location - stunning, on the river.
