What a fantastic establishment. Good selection of ales, the food is cooked to perfection, and very helpful/friendly people serving you, that cannot do enough for you. We stayed in our Campervan overnight in their car park, and being just a couple of miles off the A1 is ideal. Thoroughly recommended if you are in the area.

Had a meet up here with lads from work and customers team, I am ashamed to say having lived in Peterborough for years I had never been in here and being a craft beer lover added more pain as they had a great choice on tap. Locals were well friendly, outside space is great with tables and covered areas. We played pool in the bar and had a great time. We went for a curry next door after and the business relationship between the two meant I could have craft beer with my curry. An exceptional late afternoon evening I shall be back.

We called into the Talbot for some lunch after a friend had mentioned a visit there. We really liked the fact that the was a small lunch option menu as my husband does not have a very big appetite. The food was cooked to order tasted lovely even the peas which can sometimes be like bullets when you go out. I ordered from the main menu and the portion sizes were great and we thought it was all good value for money and will return.

The Talbot always has a friendly atmosphere and good staff that remember you. Getting service and served in here is easy and there is a huge garden that's well kept to enjoy. The pool table is well kept and easy to access to and their jukebox has a wide range of music you can stick on. Great pub to go to with friends and play a game of pool, listen to some music or just watch a bit of telly.

What an absolute find..we stopped here for lunch and a couple of real ales, so so nice. The girls behind the bar were so nice as was the chef who we also got to meet. We looked at the menu for our evening meal, and Becca recommended the homemade Beef, guiness and stilton pie. Well I'm not a fan of stilton cheese however the chef brought us a small dish with a few pieces of the meat with the stilton. It was really nice and to my mind I could not taste the stilton. The atmosphere in this little pub was amazing, it was packed on Saturday night and everyone appeared to be eating. We came in for a drink on the Sunday and I have to admit the sunday roast looked delicious.

Excellent local pub set in the village of Stilton. As a Guinness drinker it's always a great pint, well poured, clean pipes and glass. The staff are very accommodating and friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. A really large garden which is great to have a drink or a meal in during the warmer months. The pub has multiple TV screens showing all the big sporting events and the ability to show two events at the same time on seperate screens. Food is standard pub fayre and not overpriced. A really great asset to a lovely village.

We called in here on 14th of Apr for Sunday lunch after a recommendation. It was 1.40pm when we arrived and we were given a table for two and informed that because of a large lunch party waiting there would be a wait until they were served. We were ok with that and ordered 2 roast beef lunches. We had a drink and watched the football. It was 2.10pm when the waitress brought our lunches but unfortunately the chef had plated up lamb instead of beef. He had got mixed up. Time was getting on so we accepted the lamb. The appearance looked very basic indeed. Two slices of lamb, which were on the tough side, mixed veg of green beans, peas and three skinny slices of carrot that were swimming in gravy. Three pieces of what looked like roast potatoes which had been kept warm so the outers had gone tough. We persevered and finished what we could. The waitress came over and asked if we would like dessert instead we complained about the quality of the meal along with the chef's mistake. All in all very disappointing. To be fair they halved the price of the bill admitting their errors. Perhaps the whole episode was maybe to do with the chef not being able to cope with the size of the party but he should be able to tell the difference between beef and lamb.

We have stayed here on a couple of occasions over the past few weeks, in our Campervan whilst travelling en-route down the A1. It is a traditional village pub, that serves a selection of Ales together with an extensive menu. We use to live in Stilton many years ago, and so was delighted when visiting again after some 30 years, that the pub was still very much the centre of the village. There was a very warm welcome from the bar staff, and the landlord was busy in the kitchen making everything happen. The food is all freshly prepared and is presented beautifully. We will certainly be going back when next up in the area.

The menu is interesting and varied. Once our food had arrived it was immediately obvious that all the food was freshly cooked and homemade by a chef with skill. Absolutely delicious and I would not hesitate to recommend this pub to anyone looking for a delicious homecooked meal near Peterborough. Thank you

The Talbot Inn The Talbot is an excellent traditional pub just off the A1. There was a very warm and friendly welcome in the pub from John and his team, and the regulars. This is a real gem of a local pub, popular and busy. We ate a tasty evening meal in the pub - there is a theme each night eg pizza, grill, pie, in addition to the menu. Read about this pub as serving home cooked food and was looking forward to enjoying an evening meal there. How disappointed I was to start my steak meal to find the 8oz rump steak was in two small, pieces and only just warm. The peas and mushrooms were of the same temperature. Not home made chips either but at least these were a little warmer.I didn’t manage to attract the waiter neither did anyone ask if everything was ok. When collecting the dirty plates I mentioned this to the assistant who said Oh I’ll let the chef know.Expecting her to give me some feedback as to what had happened we waited some time.As she didn’t respond my husband went to her to pay the bill and asked her for an answer to which she said oh the chef says the steak often splits like that. The 2 Pieces were clearly not from the same piece and no answer about the steak being cold.We were charged full price for our meal and no apology I might add that the menu’s on the internet were steak @£11.50 And the menu they were using charged£13.50.Don’t go there unless you want to be disappointed.

Turned up 10 mins before the kitchen was closing in the evening, but Olivia behind the bar kindly took our order and brought our food to our table what seemed like only a moment! We ate Gammon, egg and chips, served with the freshest ingredients and accompanied with tasty garden peas. Lovely homely pub atmosphere, just the right balance and we drank a refreshing pint with dinner. The chef had cooked and presented the dish on warmed plated as if it was his first serving of the day! It’s ok, that’s the best description I can give. We were waiting quite a long time for food but had been advised of wait- when it arrived it was very average but then it was cheap. Unfortunately my veggie option chilli was so hot I couldn’t eat it- and that’s not me being an annoying veggie, my husband- who likes it hot spice wise- agreed amount of jalapeños and level of spice made it tasteless and uncomfortable to eat. A shame and maybe if I’d had something different I’d have been able to eat it. Advised staff who said usually people say it’s not hot enough(!?!) but didn’t offer an apology or concession- we didn’t make a fuss as just won’t go again.
