As somebody that works in the same sort of hospitality field as Harvester, I can say the experience I had today was brilliant. Drove down from Birmingham ready for an event tomorrow and checked in to the Travelodge next door. Looked at the Tripadvisor rating for this place. "3* - not great but I'll give it a go"Really unfair based on today. Staff were attentive, everyone that caught my eye smiled and said hello, service felt efficient but not rushed. Food was hot and came in good time. Since I was on my own today, I tended to people watch. All the servers communicated well with each other and offered to help each other if they had nothing else on, or if someone was struggling. One young lady, I can't remember her name sorry, took an order from the table next to me with an allergy. Not only did she note this on the P.o.S, she also confirmed it with the kitchen and confirmed it AGAIN when the food came to the hatch. Brilliant. Covid safety rules were followed impeccably.Top work guys.

We visited here last week around 4pm mon,my daughter ord steak and I ord chicken sizzler wen it came out I had peri peri sauce all over mine but I lifted the skewer and the chicken all fell off onto my plate.I sent it back and ord scampi which wasn’t very special.how can a cook get it wrong when we were the only customers in there.our free salads from the cart were tasteless.my daughters steak was cold and her blue cheese dressing was £1.99 which is a joke.we both had a sundae which was lovely but how difficult is it to get ice cream wrong tbh.we used a gift voucher for £25 so we paid £2.35 on top after speaking to staff.harvester prices are ridiculous for mainly frozen food.we won’t be visiting a harvester ever again the food is most definitely not worth the money.better off at the chippy

After being sat we had only got half way through our salad and the mains turn up! Finish the mains and the plates are removed instantly this is 38 minutes after coming in. We are asked if we want anything else and replied not yet thanks, with that the bill arrives. I said that I didn’t ask for the bill and server screwed it up and ignored me. We decided that won’t bother with pudding and I literally had to yell at the server (Zoe) to bring my bill. Seriously need some training and after going all the time for years probably won’t bother again for a long time. I can see why Harvesters are being closed and turned into Miller and Carter’s as they are trained.

We visited this evening for our daughters birthday. It was very pleasant, the food was nice and freshly cooked, burgers were juicy, staff friendly and the place clean! The salad bar looked and tasted fresh and was well stocked! We had one of the nicest meals we've had in there for a longtime and will definately be going back again!

Visitited here with my wife for dinner. Not a great experience. We had the chicken combo and it was dry, bland and tasteless apart froom the chips which were a bit odd having sage and onion seasoning which had way too much of it so they just tasted awful. The service from the staff was average. The only decent thing was the salad bar. Definitely would not recommend unless you just want a decent salad. We did mention to the waitress that we did not enjoy it and all we got was sorry. Its kind of put us of visiting a harvester agin in the future.

Use to love going to a harvester but sadly this place has put me right off me and my husband where on our way back from scattering my mother's ashes and as it was a 5 hour drive thought we would stop of for a bite to eat upon arriving it's seamed okay but it was when the food came out there was the problem we both ordered the combi of chicken with ribs my husbands ribs where so over cooked that when he cut it it come off the plate ,my chicken was still pink inside and for some reason I think they decided to put a whole tube of salt on the fries because they where that salty you would of needed a gallon of water to counterbalance it which after eating only a few sadly made me sick which being pregnant it's always the best we told our waiter about the issues and her exact response was oh sorry, and that was it, found it very poor customer service and lack of caring for there customers I will definitely think again before going back in to a harvester

Awful experience caused by awful service. The unlimited breakfast is a con, you rely on them taking orders but no-one comes to the table so we had a thimble of orange juice for £2.99 and didn’t even have the chance to order cereals or toast before the main breakfast arrived. We even had to clear our own table to make space. The manager wouldn’t even let us complain, kept interrupting and waving his hands in my face. The excuse was that they were ‘unexpectedly busy’ - meaning they are happy to take bookings and people’s money but don’t want to pay for adequate staff. He even followed me out making sarcastic comments and clearly had no idea about customer service. Avoid unless you are happy to wait all morning to be served and pay for items which aren’t delivered.

I visited the Harvester today with my partner, teenage daughter and mother in law who is disabled and has COPD. We were rather excited as it was our first meal out in around a year due to COVID and a late birthday treat for my mother in law.We were sadly very disappointed with our visit, all the staff we encountered were unfriendly and abrupt! We were made to feel extremely unwelcome. Our waitress barely spoke and seemed really fed up as was the door man who just barked at us about masks and sanitiser! I am exempt as is my mother in and he really glowered at me when I said so and showed him our exemption cards, the other staff also tutted and shook their heads at us as we walked around to our table.I found this experience really upsetting as did my mother in law.I understand it is difficult to get back into the swing of things after being closed for so long and yes we are not out of the woods yet but I’d have thought they would welcome the custom and be grateful to be working again.Myself and my daughter are vegetarian and were excited as we were told they had a new vegetarian menu. There were actually only 5 meals to choose from. Well we both ordered the vegan bbq stack and received two plain quorn fillets with really strong bbq sauce drizzled over with a couple of quorn southern fried bites on top! A few chips on the side a dollop of coleslaw and half a waterlogged corn on the cob!Neither of us could actually eat it as the bbq sauce was so overpowering.It was literally food straight from freezer to oven, not made in their kitchen. It was really awful and not cheap either.My partner and mother in law had the mixed grill which they both enjoyed. Maybe it is just us exempt vegetarians who aren’t welcome or catered for adequately!

Upon arrival, we weren’t even spoken too, not even a greeting to the restaurant or a question asking if we had a booking. The waiter that served us took his sweet dear time to even come near our table, although he could see we were waiting. Food wasn’t great at all. Beans were cold, and I did not touch the sausages as they looked very undercooked. Overall, very disappointed with this Harvester and will not be returning.

Terrible service. Wait at the door on arrival for 15 minutes. The restaurant wasn’t even busy. Told off for leaving our seat to use the breakfast bar but no one told us otherwise. Just terrible. No social distancing signs, we’re made to wait over 30 minutes to get served in a practically empty restaurant. Half the menu was unavailable and the server particularly had no manners what so ever. With no instructions on how to get cereals and crumpets etc we decided to get up and have a look ourselves only to be shouted at and told to sit back down by the server and then when we did we were not asked what we wanted. Food was meh, first time I’ve been disappointed in a Harvester but this branch is just the worst.

Booked a table at The Bridge Harvester in Wheatley and was very surprised when we arrived, to find the place completely empty bar one couple. We were greeted by a stony faced server, who despite the restaurant being completely empty ,sat us right behind the only existing couple. My back would have been 6 inches away from the girl in the booth next to us. We asked to be moved to another table so he did,one table away from the booth. He reluctantly took our order and shuffled off. The food came we ate it, by this time he had disappeared and another waiter had taken over.He was a bit more pleasant, but the whole experience was very strange and no customer service whatsoever. Easy to see why the place was so empty if that's the kind of greeting you get. Won't be going back.

Me, my husband and two children came in after doing a bit of shopping over the road. We had to do two different track and trace which wasn’t the problem, we was sat down at our table. The waitress came over took our drinks menu, came straight away, then it took about 20 minutes for them to take out food order which my daughter asked the waitress for some coloring, which the waitress said that’s ok I’ll go get stone never returned to bring them instead two waitress stood about chatting following each other road, after our food order was taken, it took another 10-15 to get to the salad bar, we told the waitress what we wanted which she got for us, we sat back down, 2-3 mins into eating out food my 4 year old daughter starting crying saying she not eating her food as their a fly in it, which was dead, I immediately got up took it to a member of the staff, no apology just get another which my daughter didn’t even eat her actual dinner because of this ( still had to pay full price mind) , this put us off the food from the salad bar, we then waited another 30 minutes for our food, once our food arrived my order was wrong, which got sorted within 5 minutes, Well we was eating a young man came into start his shift I believe, he was the only one who asked if we was ok. Wanted a refill on drinks or anything he can do for us. Other then his young man who came in the staff was appalling and rude! Consider there was only us and one other table in at the time service should have been 100% times better! Will never be returning here and will be spreading the word of this terrible service we received!! The staff really do need retraining.

Came out for a last meal before lockdown and have now been waiting 40 minutes and not even placed our starter order. The waiting staff are very thin on the ground however some of it comes down to common sense or lack of it. Maybe they only have one chef so are trying to space out the meals as much as possible who knows. But when your server says she is going to take the order at the next table and then will be with you, you kinda expect it to be 5 minutes and not 15! If this is anything to go by we'll probably get the meal about 10pm! Shocking, will not be coming back Covid or no Covid! I guess our server - Angel will not be getting a tip tonight, from us at least. Just shame I have to give 1 star!

We showed the voucher when we were seated to receive 50% off adults main meal. We were informed by Chloe who said she was the manager “who incidentally refused to give us her surname” that it did not include set lunch menu, this we accepted. However, we were later informed when we received the bill that if one person in the group ordered from the main menu and one person ordered from the set menu the 50% voucher is not valid. When I question this with Chloe her first excuse was, she would not have the time to tell every customer these details. Her second excuse after I said its not stated in your Terms and Conditions, she said it was. And refused to allow 50% off 1 meal in our party of 3 and while we were talking endeavoured to walk away. I showed her the term and conditions where it states. Its valid up to 6 people at 1 table dinning in the same transaction . Not valid for set menus. The discount I should have received was £6.89.

We met for lunch yesterday . Had not been previously and sat in garden. Food was nice but the best bit was the server Morgan. He was superb. We had ordered food and then Morgan assisted with getting our salads.I don’t like lettuce and when my main meal came he had got into the kitchen and asked for no lettuce as he remembered I didn’t like it from salad bar.That shows great hospitality and caring skills as I hadn’t thought to ask for lettuce to be removed from the bean burger I had ordered.I was really impressed by Morgan and I had recently worked in hospitality for 31 years ... well done

Visited on Tuesday lunch time hoping to take advantage of September deals, arrived and were seated by a staff member at the door, who said someone would be over to take our order. We were sat in the middle of the restaurant for I think around 40 minutes, with a staff members walking around the tablets, but seemed to be purposefully avoiding our table as they were serving other areas and looked busy. Most of the other diners in our area looked as if they’d been waiting ages, and looked frustrated. For example the person opposite was trying to pay their bill but kept being ignored. We clearly hadn’t been served as we still had the menus and no drinks on the table. We gave up in the end and left. We’d been sat there that long the staff member at the door thought we’d eaten. The little food that was slowing appear out of the kitchen hatch actually looked really good, but didn’t have a whole day to sit there.

I thought to myself that’s not going to be a problem. I waited about 5 mins or so for my waitress which is no bother as I could see it was busy. The refill drinks are now done by the waitress. Ordered my food I had the messy combo burger my partner had the bbq chicken melt. We then got taken to the salad cart by our waitress and they now serve your salad. After we got our salad the food came about 10 mins after. It was soooo tasty I couldn’t fault the food! Got the bill paid. I would highly recommend this place, our waitress was amazing she was busy but managed to get to us to offer extra drinks and see how our food was, and the chefs who cooked our food where also fab.

On our last two visits one of the severs has been wearing tracksuit bottoms and from a General Manager opinion it does not look good with appearances and confuses guests if they are staff or if they are not.

I appreciate that we are in difficult times with COVID etc but I think there is absolutely no excuse for the absolutely appalling customer service I have received from the Harvester this week. Last Wednesday we booked a table at the Bridge for a family meal to celebrate a significant family event. The booking was accepted online and acknowledged by text. On arrival we were about to enter the restaurant and were met by a member of staff advising that they had a power cut. We were stood by the door discussing what we were going to do and the electric came back on. We were then told that we could go in to wait as they could not serve food or drinks for 30 minutes, we were told to sit in the bar. After an hour of sitting waiting we noticed the staff were taking drinks through to the restaurant so my son purchased some drinks from the bar and we asked when our table would be available. After about 10 minutes the waitress came through and said we could not have our table as there were later bookings starting to arrive- she said we would have to sit at the table we we were sat at. We explained that the round table (less than a meter in diameter) with 5 adults and a nine year old squeezed around was neither practical or acceptable. She asked the duty manager and she came and said that she had called Bruce in our party to advise us of the power cut and to cancel the booking. We explained that we had no knowledge of anyone called Bruce and we most definitely had not received a call or we would not have travelled over 30 miles to the restaurant. She suggested that they had the wrong number on our booking which was clearly not the case as my son had, and in fact still has the text confirming the booking.Whilst I appreciate the power cut was beyond any ones control the actions of the staff afterwards clearly were. My family’s special occasion was totally ruined,I spoke to Head Office on Thursday and was promised a call back from Ricky, the site manager by 5pm on Saturday. Having received no call I tried all day yesterday to contact him (as advised by Head Office) but the phone was not answered. I eventually managed to get through to Ricky at 10:00 am this morning and he promised to call me within an hour. I called back an hour ago and was told that he would call at the end of his break - yet again a broken promise. Let me start by saying I understand during these uncertain times things don't always run smoothly and it was our choice to visit, we booked ahead as planned and was seated before we'd even sat down she aAsked if we were ready to order we said we've literally just sat down so she said she'd give us a few minutes. 25 minutes later we finally order it's ever so confusing no simple instructions or anything explained she did tell us to stand at the salad bar, we were told not to move closer but I couldn't see what was there luckily we have been before so had a rough guess but missed croutons and other bits as we didn't know they had them we asked him but he didn't speak much English and either selectively decided not to answer us when I asked about drink refills, after we got back I asked our waitress whilst holding my empty glass how to get a refill she said just ask me then walked off!! I then had to call her back asking if we could have one.food came out was practically thrown on the table no time to ask for sauce again had to call someone back over for sauce! After dinner my niece needed the toilet and found both the hand wash EMPTY! The waitress asked if we wanted anything else I said we ordered dessert already and we had to remind her so I'm guessing she never placed the order she came out 5 minutes later explaining no cheesecake and went to walk off so I had to shout well can we have a look at the menu?! So she gave us one and of course walked off again! Finally all orders placed, food comes and she places the spoons on the dirty table I've asked everyone I know and it's definitely not normal and NOT hygienic I even said to her can you not put them on the table it's disgusting, all finished we got the bill relatively quickly, I decided to go wash my hands before we left and there was still NO soap in both the soap dispensers! Totally disgusting at the best of times yet Alone during covid. I let a review on Facebook and was blamed for not telling a member of staff and they said it's checked every 30 minutes so either I was lied to or the staff aren't doing their job which makes me wonder what else they don't bother to clean. Think I'm too harsh especially under these circumstances? As someone who's worked through the whole of lockdown and who has always had decent cleaning standards no soap in a restaurant is by far on the top level of big no's. Overall the food was good but the stress and hassle wasn't worth it. We have reported them to the FSA.

My wife and I called in on Saturday 8th August at around 1pm. We hadn't booked and I was concerned we might not get a table. Instead, we were greeted and seated straight away and made to feel very welcome. Beverley (our waitress) was great and made everything easy. Our food was well done and there was lots of it too. We felt comfortable and were given lots of room. If you ever need to be reminded how to stay young at heart and full of happiness and fun then go here and ask for Beverley to look after you. Well done all.

Went here whilst staying locally, we reserved a table and was greeted and passed on to Zoe, our waitress, who was polite and courteous. Albeit after lockdown the experience is slightly different at the Salad Bar - but Zoe was attentive and made sure the experience was as I filled the plate myself :). The food here is nice and fresh - we had a couple issues with the food and drink - but this was not an issue for her, she listened and rectified them without hesitation. Zoe - Thank you 5* Service. Great work should not go unnoticed.

I've been visiting this Harvester with my family and sometimes groups of friends regularly (4-5) times a year for the last 8 or so years. It has declined quite badly over the last few years on service, food and decor recently. I have resisted writing a negative review for a couple of years, because I thought it would be unfair to comment on one or two bad visits. Well, that has become several. I wanted to write a positive review, but that wouldn't be true.Nobody in the kitchen were wearing masks. We found food residues on the sauces and menus (indicating very poor hygiene). The soap dispensers in toilets were hanging off the wall. I saw one staff member taking cash on the bar and then serving food without washing hands. It was a bit ridiculous. We didn't feel safe at all. No masks, no faceshields, just some hand sanitiser which was comprehensively ignored by everyone. Then some staff were arguing and moaning in front of customers at the bar. It was very awkward. They don't answer the phone when you try and call. I had to ring 10 times to try to confirm something which was refused when we arrived (sitting outside!). The issue of professionalism seemed to be completely missed altogether. The mens toilet is still very badly designed, you can't get into one of the cubicles unless you go gymnastic - try that with a small child desperate for the toilet. The outdoor area is still disgusting, cigg buts, litter, dirt everywhere, we had cobwebs on our clothes from the table. Needs pressure washing, painting the fence, cleaning and repairing the furniture.The staff try to be friendly, and they motion towards the service that you might expect from Harvester but they are at times unprofessional, poorly trained and are completely overwhelmed, the kitchen is poorly run and lacks ambition. I think we'll take a break for a while.

On arrival to this restaurant should it be called that I was told the previous table “hadn’t cleared out yet so wait outside or in the bar”. Within a minute of being at the bar, not yet being able to order drinks I was pointed to a table of which I was under the impression that it had be sanitised and wiped down (since we are in a pandemic). Once at the table I was disgusted the table still had grease on from previous group and the wall had food and sauce on. This was a big NO for me especially when myself and family members have health conditions and have to be cautious about what we eat due to chronic pain or being higher risk for Covid than other. Although I addressed these issues to our waitress Mel she didn’t seem to care she was “helping out on her day off” as she put it. So along cane our starters which was by Far the best part of the experience. The food was warm but had flavour to it. We still hadn’t ordered due to everything we wanted to order seemed to be out of stock but we wasn’t advised before sitting down. Upon complaining that the food we wanted wasn’t in stock we were understanding and continued to search the menu for something else although we were told there was chicken and ribs we couldn’t order it as we would have to order them separate from the menu as an extra cost. Mel the waitress was about as charming and helpful as a cardboard box left out in torrential rain. I was not amused. Once our mains arrived the meal went from bearable to worse. A gammon covered with BBQ sauce taking away all flavouring, eggs that had been left to go hard as opposed to runny and delicious. The food was appalling Mel our waitress was made aware and told us she would “get the chef to come out and talk to us”. Ironically she disappeared after that to the other side of the restaurant after that and didn’t have any interaction with us. The manager walked past several times didn’t ask how our food was or how service was, we had to speak up as he walked past for him to acknowledge we were disappointed in the food and service we had experienced. And yet he continued to just ignore us. I was speechless how could a restaurant our family attended at least once a month become so bad after closing during the lockdown period? The food and sauce plastered across the wall had attracted flys and moths and it didn’t take long before they started landing on our meal drawing it to a rapid STOP! A different waitress came over after over hearing how bad our experience was. We explained the issues we had and she couldn’t believe that we were allowed to eat like this. We picked up our bill and left as soon as we could. On the way out we passed several members of the team but none wished us well or thanked us for coming to the restaurant. Outside the restaurant there are two steps of which have no lighting making them a trip hazard and dangerous. No face shields worn inside the restaurant and the staff didn’t keep any social distancing from us or others that I could see. I would go as far to say I feel much safer at work as a key worker dealing with multiple people daily basis than I do in this establishment and under no circumstances will I be returning to this restaurant.

I've been here numerous times over the years and never been too impressed but this visit was dreadful. Group of 5 of us waited a good 5 min on arrival before being seated although very quiet. When we finally ordered we were told no rotisserie chicken left so no combo meals so a few of us had to change meals. After ordering something else (BBQ Pork Belly for me) the server came back again to tell me they didn't have the Mac n Cheese but I could order something from the starters instead. Decided on Calamari Strips only to be told a few min later that I could not have that or any starters but they could give me 2 sausages instead ! I said forget it, just have what it comes with. When the food came it was not great, especially mine. More fat than meat. What was supposed to be the potato, onion & spinach hash was just some fried square potatoes with some cooked onions thrown on top which they tried to hide by piling salad leaves on top. Even the server knew it was bad as she disappeared and didn't even come back. I ate what I could as was hungry and couldn't wait for anything else. I wish I took a picture as it really was that bad. Staff in kitchen obviously had given up that night as they started shutting everything down and blasted music instead. I complained to the server at the end to which she apologised and that was that. Just seemed nobody could be bothered and didn't care at all. That was without a doubt my last visit to this place. I would avoid and go somewhere else.

I arrived around 1:10 pm on a busy Saturday lunchtime. I was quickly shown to a table and a few minutes later Bev the waitress asked me for my drinks order and I ordered both drink and a meal. The drink arrived quickly and the meal (gammon steak) arrived in under 15 minutes.Good food, good service (big shout out to Bev). Although it was a busy (i.e. stressful) Saturday lunchtime all of the staff were friendly, courteous and smiling!

The food is usually lovely BUT the customer service is horrendous. They do not smile or give friendly service at all. In fact I went in feeling happy and once I was finally served I felt miserable because of the poor attitude of the staff. Sometimes bookings get ignored too. We had a voucher and we were refused to use it because their system was down which we were not told beforehand. I feel it is quite pricey too. Great location but honestly the staff are just so miserable. Big thumbs down.

Lunch time: Good service but there were only four people there, including us. We used to go there every couple of months until approx. 18 months ago when we stopped because the food was between bad and terrible on our last two visits. It hasn't improved. It could be classed as Good Value but it isn't if it's mostly inedible.They opened at 12.00. At 12.10 when visiting the Ladies Toilets three hadn't been flushed (disgustingly off-putting) and the fourth had no toilet paper. The other two diners didn't go into the Ladies Toilets, so obviously they hadn't been cleaned before opening that day nor after closing the night before. We won't be going again.

I wanted something cheap and cheerful and this ticked the box. I had Scampi and my partner had a half roast chicken. Good portions all round with a good helping from the salad bar.My only negative is that they offer free refils on the draught soft drinks, but when you order they bring you a glass to help yourself when it really would not take much effort for them to provide the initial one.

As the saying goes ‘you only get what you pay for ‘ is very suited to the harvester! It is cheapish for some dishes but £11.49 for a burger , I think is quite expensive. When it arrived it was cold !! So we sent it back to the grill and they clearly just tried to reheat it , and this time had burger sauce in it, and we had requested no sauce first time round. So this time it went back and we requested a freshly cooked burger replacement, and thankful this time when it arrived it was hot and just what was ordered, if only they sorted out the service with the kitchen and not leave food sat on the not so hot plate waiting to be served the food would actually be ok for the price.

We visited last Friday & my wife and I both ordered jerk chicken , when it arrived it was covered in barbecue sauce ! I don’t know where you get your recepies from but jerk chicken is not covered in barbecue sauce , if we had known this neither of us would have ordered the food as neither of us like barbecue sauce.we sent the food back & ordered some thing else, by now an hour had passed we complained to the duty ( byrdi ) about having to wait an hour for food , he just shrugged his shoulders & send “ it’s not my fault , what do you want me to do about it “ he couldn’t have cared less., hardly good customer service , we won’t be going back there again.

Having posted a positive review a while ago about the new menu I was bitterly disappointed by a visit this past weekend. The food and menu choices were still good, no complaints there. But the service was shocking. The waitress barely acknowledged us, to the point of lowering her eyes when walking past to avoid looking at us (as she seemed to do to all the tables nearby) She did not bring us salad bowls, I had to go and chase her despite trying to catch her attention for 10 mins or so (again, as did the tables nearby).
