Myself and a friend visited The Bridge for the Sunday Carvery. It was excellent and superb value for money! We had the carvery and a pudding which was also excellent.

This was our first taste of the Bridge at Stanford having decided to try somewhere new for Mother’s Day. We weren’t disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and the food itself was delicious. A lovely choice of veg to accompany a nice selection of meats. For Mother’s Day, we thought £19 for 2 courses (including a delicious choice of homemade desserts) was very good value. The ‘quirky’ old building adds an extra layer of charm.

We went for Christmas day lunch. Firstly I will say the food was good and the staff friendly & helpful. What marks it down for me was a few things. Real lack of atmosphere in the place, it was very quiet and we were in a room on our own. When the cutlery came out for desserts we got a mix of dessert spoons, soup spoons & a tablespoon! My main issue is the walk to the toilets, the room you walk through is really empty apart from one table & some other stored items. Then nothing beats standing at the urinals looking at a bunch of swear woods scratched into a piece of wood above the toilets. Family friendly those words aren't! Like I said the food was really good & staff great. I'm just not sure I would make a special journey to come back again. It also looks like the pub needs some TLC. My actual score is 3.5 overall.

Went with my family last weekend and had the Sunday Carvery. Fantastic value for money, great choice (Four different meats and numerous vegetable options) and really tasty. Clean and traditional Pub, with a few quirks. Staff were friendly and helpful and there's plenty of parking. Easily the best Sunday Dinner we've had in a Pub for a long time!! Would recommend this to anyone looking for reasonably priced, delicious food in pleasant surroundings :-)

We normally come for lunch during the week but last Sunday decided to try their Sunday carvery instead of going to the one we normally go to. I was really impressed. Seated at a nice table. Drinks arrived promptly and in no time we were called up to the carvery. We had the beef which was cooked perfectly and to a high standard. All the vegetables were lovely and hot and quickly replenished when needed. We added on a dessert for an extra £2 and the cheesecake was amazing. Service as well was excellent. After going back to our old restaurant this Sunday which had shocking service The Bridge is now our definite place to go to. You will not be disappointed

We first visited The Bridge back in 2020 when Eat Out to Help Out had just started - we were welcomed by Terry and the regulars. Being back in this beautiful part of the world this week we thought we must drop in again and we were so glad we did. Terry was so welcoming and we enjoyed a great pub meal in the sunset on the patio - classic fish and chips for the parents and an excellent steak for our 19-year-old. HPA was in excellent condition and service was prompt and friendly (thanks Alice). Well done to the chef and sorry I didn't get your name so I could namecheck you too. We moved inside for our desserts which were rich and delish. The bill was surprisingly modest for a great evening. Everything we were looking for and next time we are in the area we will make it our priority to drop by again. Just a perfect local pub experience.

Booked for Sunday carvery in August, and the food was lovely. But I noticed behind my chair, there was a lot of cobwebs, so on leaving, I mentioned it quietly to the young girl who served us about them. She thanked me for letting her know. We came again for Sunday carvery on Sunday 16th October, on entering, there is an old beer barrel, just inside the door, which had screwed up paper on top, and looked very grubby. We sat in the back room, and the cobwebs that was on the windows was really bad, so on leaving, thought I would look at the back of the seat that I sat in before, and the cobwebs were still there. Really is not good enough. Either sack your cleaner, or get some cleaning done yourself. Won’t be returning for a third time, which is a shame, as the food was good, but has put me off.

This is a great country pub, serving a variety of real ales and a good selection of food. We have dined here on a number of occasions, the last time (July 2013) with friends, who had not been before. They were very impressed by the range of real ales and the reasonably priced food selection. You can't argue with a large slice of ham, two eggs, peas and chips for £6.95! The staff are always very friendly and efficient. Well worth the trip. We will be back.

When we got there, we saw a sign that said 'overflow car park'. Absolutely accurate, the river had overflowed into the car park, which was now a pond. Service was a little slow to start with but then improved. Food was excellent, so was the company and the atmosphere. Defo going back some time.

Four of us had a light lunch here yesterday. We had hoped to sit outside by the lake but it was cold so we were in the bistro which is lovely. We all ordered sandwiches which were delicious and presented beautifully with a small selection of dressed salad leaves . We all had banana sponge pudding with toffee sauce and ice cream - a bit like sticky toffee pudding but even better. The staff were immaculately turned out, and genuinely welcoming and helpful. This is such a lovely place and we will definitely be back before long.

All fine - nice people, nice coffee and croissant, nice place. Recommended. Don't sit to the left of the forecourt space if you don't like the smell of patchouli that comes from the adjoining shop.
