The Brewery Tap in Portsmouth

Often now, over loud bands for a small venue. I wear ear plugs and it's still too loud. Even the jukebox when we arrived was overloud, to the point the barman got my order wrong because he couldn't hear me.. Generally a nice friendly crowd. They still don't do food, so not sure why it's on the list of questions for a review.

Went on Saturday night...had a band playing who were brilliant. The pub itself is quite small so does get packed but there is enough bar staff working so it doesn't take long to get served. One of the liveliest pubs in the area and very friendly. UPDATE: THEY NOW DO MUSIC ON OTHER NIGHTS AS WELL

Great little place on the main road. Well worth popping in when a band is on.

This is now the worst pub in North end. I had the most disgusting pint of beer in here 2/2/24. Stupidly over priced (£9 for a cider + a real ale) aswell and the staff were busy munching on kebabs instead of serving. Shame because they had live music but I won't ever go in here again and I won't be recommending the place! Another pub that will close, but in this case look at yourselves!!

Would give 0 starts if possible. Shan’t be returning.

Avoid at all costs. Allow you to spend your money all night to then kick one of your friends out for allegedly doing drugs with no evidence to support this. Awful experience. With pubs closing as fast as they are, don’t be surprised to see this one next. Quite frankly couldn’t manage a pee up in the Brewery Tap.

Worst example of upmarking a half of real ale I've ever experienced (and I visit a lot of real ale pubs). 1/2 Flowerpots was priced at £3 (really, in Northend ?) pint of same beer £4.50. No justification for such a huge difference. 5/10 pence maybe. If you are having 1/2's avoid this place !

Went there for a gig by the band Stolen in the evening and they were great.

Recent use of public transport saw the opportunity to hop off the bus and go in and not disappointed. The atmosphere as you entered was welcoming. It was just after 5pm with a good number of people. Selection of beers was good and the bar staff welcoming, personable and friendly.

Well prices drinks and thr staff couldn't be friendlier. Will defo return.

Enjoyable few hours on Saturday night with friends. Bar staff were friendly and very efficient. Nice to listen to live music. Will definitely return. Thank you.

This pub has caught my eye with a view to having a pint in there though most times passing in a car. Recent use of public transport saw the opportunity to hop off the bus and go in and not disappointed. The atmosphere as you entered was welcoming. It was just after 5pm with a good number of people. Selection of beers was good and the bar staff welcoming, personable and friendly. Locals drinking there introduced themselves and soon felt like one of the locals. I enjoyed it and will back for the live music 🎶

My friend and i have been to The Tap on a coup of occasions now on a Saturday. It was very lively with a great atmosphere. Each time there was a band playing which made for a great evening. If you want a traditional pub with good music then give The Tap a try.

A lovely local venue. Friendly staff, efficient service. Regular live music and events. Prices may not be the cheapest - but this pub has a friendly feel and nice atmosphere and sometimes it's nice to pay a little extra for that.

Went to a psychic evening...... 15pds including a curry..........the meal was atrocious...... Chicken sauce and very little chicken and a small portion of rice......I usually like the tap this was just not up ti standard....... 40 people 1 barmaid and she turned the dish washer on ad the show started...... Beggars belief

The Tap has always been a great pub for live music. It's also funny that Google Maps lists it as a shoe shop!

Nice enough pub.When we were in it was busy and the girl behind bar acknowledged us and we were served accordingly. Haven't had food but it looks good. Atmosphere good Guinness good.

roast dinner tasty well worth money and u don't have to wait long

Just had an amazing roast here today. It was massive, and perfectly cooked. Then sat back as the live band rocked out. What a great venue. They often have bands and events, so we will be back!

Definitely not Gastro!! Food only available to 7pm. Poor ambiance and a limited menu. OK for a beer but not much else.
