Costa Coffee in Portsmouth

Great service , best flat whites around , really friendly Staff , highly recommended

Very lacking in gluten free options, you can only have small pre packed sweet treats like millionaires shortbread or brownie, no sandwiches or muffins.

I use Costa a lot and this has to be the cleanest, friendliest branch around. Nice to see tables cleared promptly and service fast and with a smile.

Normally pretty good with the service and food at costa, but recently noticed its gone a bit down hill. Ordered 2 large hot chocolates, but it was only half a cup in each, tasted very basic, not like the usual hot chocolates they do. I do find it a bit awkward going through the drive thru, when I'm still trying to find something on the menu but someone is straight on the intercom asking what I want

Something is seriously OFF. The last 3-4 weeks every time I get a coffee from here it either tastes like vomit (so their milk is off and definitely needs date checking) or the coffee just doesn’t taste right at all.. I usually get gingerbread latte’s with their special roast, the last few times I’ve had to throw the entire coffee away. I’d have complained in store by now if we didn’t always use the drive thru, thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt or maybe it’s just my taste buds - but after having another coffee today from a different Costa, same order as I always get, it tastes just like it should. So long story short, this Costa needs to be checked to make sure their milk isn’t going lumpy in their fridge and then getting put in peoples drinks. That or they seriously need to clean their coffee machine. The guys that work here are fantastic I really can’t fault them, if anything they brighten my day 😂 but it’s the coffee that’s made me give 2 stars :(

Shocking service, ordered through justeat still hadn’t received order over 2 hours later, went down to the restaurant and the manager refused to make the order and said they did their bit, not their problem. Disgusting attitude to have, so I’m now £15 down, scammed out of money and food can’t say it’s not been delivered as it still says they’re at the restaurant!!! So if you have any issues with your order don’t expect them to actually help you. Thanks for nothing Costa, great job 👏🏼

This is my favourite Costa. The best thing is the staff: kind, helpful, patient and attentive, especially the young blonde girl, she went above and beyond And of course Costa is the best coffee in the uk!

The driver was so rude and kept ringing me and shouting at me down the phone whilst stood outside the care home refused to come to the door

I have had many good experiences at this Costa in the past but I am wondering if it has changed hands as I have had two visits recently that were completely unacceptable by way of rude staff and unnecessary comments from them. We have deleted our Costa accounts and switched to Starbucks and wow I had no idea how much better their coffee is! So thank you Port Solent Costa for being the catalyst for change that we didn't know we needed. We hope you sort your internal issues before they get away from you.

Had over an 2 hour wait for food to be delivered. Says my food was delivered and it never was!

delivery driver was 20 min late because he had another delivery no where near me. food and drink cold 🥶

Always excellent service and friendly staff

Such an amazing experience this morning with ordering my hot chocolate, and all the staff was lovely, the lady who took my order and also the gentleman who prepared it, all smiling and welcoming. I didn’t expect that early in the morning. Will definitely come back again 😇

I ordered a maple hot chocolate with extra marshmallows. My hot chocolate arrived cold, half full, with no marshmallows at all and just tasted of milk. I am only being refunded half of the cost of my drink. I am incredibly disappointed!

All good, apart from the order was wrong. I ordered a Maple Hazel Frappe, but got a Maple Hazel Hot Chocolate instead.

I ordered a carrot and walnut cake got a cinnamon roll instead

If you don't come here for your coffee you are missing out. Staff that work here are fantastic.

I visited this place today and I had a coffee. I met Claire who is very passionate about her job and brings a lot of positive energy here. She also mentioned that everyone here is fantastic to work with and she couldn't be more happy. The whole place is clean and looked after, very well organised. I never been here before but I can highly recommend it and if I will be back in this area I will definitely visit this place. Thank you very much Michael Ps I left my printer on the table and they kept it safe for me. I went toLeeds, Newcastle, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Manchester and finally went back to Portsmouth and my printer was waiting for me. Thank you very much!

Disgusting almond croissant. Too much sugar and sweet in it. There was even some sort of sugar-injected creme in it. Total disrespect to croissant and unhealthy and too sweet and disgusting to eat. Croissant should not have sugar or sweetener. Please go to school to learn ingredients for croissant.

Great location 👌 Costa is big with big windows (which i love) and plenty of spaces to sit

I don't know if he works there anymore, but I finally have to leave a review so management and customers know about a wonderful young barista that is still in my mind today. Over 4 years ago I came in with my newborn, overwhelmed and in tears because she wouldn't stop crying. I sat straight down without buying anything so I could nurse her to try and calm her, I was meeting a friend but in the wrong Costa and it was just the worst day. He came over and asked if he could take my order from the table and bring my drink over. He probably had no idea what that small but kind and thoughtful gesture meant to me - he didn't have to do that. If you have any baristas working there still who were there that long ago, please ask them if he remember and if so, tell him what that meant to me. He should know. If he is able to get in touch, I would like to thank him in person.

My delivery driver literally put delivered and stole my food and coffee and hasn’t delivered it, the costa coffee line isn’t open either so can’t even call and complain

This is quite simply the best Costa I have visited, the staff are amazing, extremely polite and hospitable. The managers Claire and Simon run a very tight ship and ensure that customer service and standards are exemplary! The rest of the team including Sophie, Daisy, Tara, Lorena, Danny are extremely friendly and polite always smiling and happy and always taking time to talk and be sociable even when busy, it’s more like a family business than a large chain. Unlike many Costas there are never plates and empty cups all over unoccupied tables, this ensures you always get a clean table and somewhere to sit, the whole establishment is always clean and kept to a high standard. I would most definitely take the 1 star reviews on here as a bit suspect and would say that’s more the attitude of the customer than the staff here. I come here at least three times a week and have never been dissapointed!!

Normally very good, but put the soya/vegan sticker on the wrong cup this morning, lucky I tasted it before my lactose intolerant partner started drinking it!

This morning, I visited Costa Coffee drive thru at North Harbour with the intention of working on my laptop while enjoying a latte and croissant. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by the staff's continuous laughter, making me feel uncomfortable. It became evident that the treatment towards other customers, particularly white customers, differed with a more positive and friendly approach. As a regular Costa customer who values exceptional customer service, I was disappointed by the rude behavior and lack of customer service skills exhibited by the staff at this particular store. Regrettably, I won't be returning to this location, as it fails to uphold the standards that Costa aims to provide.

Early morning after work visit for me with a work friend . Staff lovely and nothing was to much trouble.

sadly my pan au raisin was burnt and extremely cold. My coffee was half full and tasted slightly burnt.

Black coffee leaked everywhere, and my order was a Large black Americano and large skimmed vanilla latte, 2 chicken caesar wraps and polar bear cookie and my order was wrong.

Gingerbread latte and brie & cranberry toastie ordered. Hot chocolate and ham toastie delivered. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Visited this store yesterday on my way to a meeting, I was in the queue behind to young women who were patiently waiting to be served, upon them arriving at the till they were met with a very harsh rude member of female staff... one of the young females passed over her sandwich which was to be toasted to which your member of staff threw it on the side... the young girl then proceeds to give her drink order to which she was barked at 2 SECONDS YEAH... i could already see on the young females faces that they were confused as to why they were being spoken to in such manor, i then arrive at the till and am greeted with a lovley smile and a very warm welcome bare in mind this is by the same female staff member who was dam right rude to the girls before hand. I could see that the young females were a bit taken back by it as they had done nothing wrong but got such a cold welcome.... your staff need to be warm and welcoming to every customer not just who they choose to be nice to. I don't normally leave reviews but was very taken back on how they must of been feeling!!!! BE KIND ITS NOT HARD.....will not return to this store.

My food and drink all arrived cold.

Drink that was paid for and on receipt NOT included - bags were sealed upon delivery so hasn’t fallen out in transit. Ordered hot food and cold chocolate desserts, these were crammed together in the same bag so desserts melted and not fit for consumption

Popped in for a breakfast, toast jam coffee was very nice

For some reason there's flies all over the cakes where they get in at the back of the cake covers. And when you try and have coffee in the seating area there are nothing but fly's everywhere, would not recommend this place. Theres no care attitude by the young staff

Without doubt, this place is centred around being a drive-through. Parking up to walk in can be very difficult, depending on the day and time, as the car park is part of a retail park. The food and coffee were of the standard expected at Costa and the server was reasonably friendly. Had to return to the counter for napkins but found it difficult to get anyone's attention.

Shame they had run out of most of the things I wanted. But we reached a compromise. Don't like the protein milk though

It all went well and food delivered in time. I’m not sure I would order again. I maybe will do it’s just a very expensive way to have a costa as there’s a delivery charge and a service fee also plus the products from Costa seem to be more expensive online in the first place. But otherwise there service was great, no problems.

Brilliant crew; friendly, engaging and professional. Store immaculately clean, including toilets. This is what I always get at Costa! Hence why I am loyal to the brand. Other organizations would benefit from training their teams to this high standard of hospitality training too!

Over an hour to get 4 coffees and when they did arrive they were barely lukewarm. We always use this costa for deliveries, drive-thru etc and the standard lately has really slipped!!

All costa I have visited are great and the coffee is certainly to my taste.

Number of times the drinks have been messed up, either wrong drink, poorly made and often coffee tastes burnt.

Ordered and paid for two medium drinks and a large drink but received 3 medium drinks.

Alright, but there was a massive chunk of ice in the kitkat ice drink pretty much just full of ice☹️

Love this cafe, the whole place has transformed after a new manager started working here 🤗!

Was missing the muffin but I'll still give 5 stars because getting the refund was easy and the drinks arrived quickly. :)

Great service and great staff as always

The lid on the hot chocolate was loose so the hot chocolate spilled on the journey. The paper bag was soaked through with chocolate so when I lifted the bag, the bag split and both drinks fell out. Most of the hot chocolate was lost. I took photo as proof.

Bland beverage served in bland enviroment/ atmosphere.

Advertised as being open till 9pm on Google, and on their outside noticeboard near their drive through. But was in fact closed at 7.50pm

Very nice staff. As expected Costa generic coffee. Filthy tables, marked, stained and sticky soft furnishings. Imagine the aftermath of a blindfold toddlers party tea. Gipping.

Slowest drive through in the world! No urgency at all. Horrendous. Avoid!

A busy and bustling branch, but with attentive staff the quality doesn't suffer. With a good amount of seating inside and out as well as a drive through, this branch caters for most peoples needs.

Overall a good normal Costa experience. Was a little disappointed with the seasonal Christmas drinks, they all contain a dairy swirl or similar with no alternative if you can have that (lactose intolerance for example). Only real gripe is the drive through here still causes issues. They recently (within the last 12 months) installed some no entry sign to try and cause drivers to enter the drive through a certain way, while it has helped it hasn't solved the issue and Costa should be doing something to further help in my opinion.

Drove down from Waterlooville, was very annoyed when we turned up at 6pm to see it all in darkness and closed. Please update your bussiness hours to save others waisting there time and fuel.
