Lovely pub with enjoyable atmosphere.

The most disappointing service I have had at this venue to date. Placed an order on the app at 1703 at 1745 I went in to ask where it was to be told, I couldn't see a child at the table so your drinks are sat there behind the bar.....so I took the drinks and the food cane out at 1815. At 1850 we moved inside ad it had become chilly, AND we were still waiting for desert. My child was finally provided dessert at 1900. What was intended as a quick pint at 1630 ended up being 8 drink later thanks to the poor servuc

I went to the Baffins Pub with some freinds to celebrate a Birthday. We had ordered a buffet, the food was excellent and we were so well looked after by Ed the manager and his staff. Ed was there to help and we were made so welcome. We all had an amazing evening and will definately have our next Birthday there. The Baffins is such a welcoming pub so glad we had our party there. Thank you Ed your amazing

Used to love this place. Had a couple bad experiences last 3 or so times so really not sure it's what it used to be

I stupidly lost my car keys this morning while visiting Baffins Pond and my 3 year old Grandson needed the toilet. I also didn’t have my purse with me but The Baffins not only allowed us to use their toilet but gave us warmth, colouring sheets and crayons, a fruit drink for my Grandsons and offered me a hot drink while we waited for help! I didn’t catch the ladies name but thank you so much, your kindness was inspirational and we will definitely be back to eat soon. Above & beyond 🥰

Love the staff and that it's local. Can be a bit frustrating if service is a bit slow or they're not doing all the food. Some healthy eating options salad or plain chicken would be great. Love the staff though so kind and friendly

Thank you Brandon, Ali and the lovely team at the Baffins for hosting our grandmothers post funeral celebration - it couldn’t have been better. Everything went so smoothly. You made sure we had time beforehand to decorate the room. The food was delicious and the staff were really great - very thoughtful and attentive. Everyone who came said it couldn’t have been better. A big thank you to you all.

We had booked for the Christmas lunch, the food was fabulous & the service was top rate. We thoroughly enjoyed are visit & thought the Christmas lunch was incredible value. We would highly recommend the Christmas Lunch there.

We had the festive menu today, I had roast turkey it was absolutely amazing, large portions, definitely got your monies worth and more Table was Christmassy , crackers, and the children got a chocolate selection box. Thank you and all the staff were lovely and welcoming… Merry Christmas 🎄

Lovely Buffet put on by the Baffins for a party. Plenty of food, lovely service and great atmosphere. Would defo book again 🙂

Nice lady with white hair who served me. I'm a regular at the place, and this was the first time I saw her. I had a really particular order and she seemed welcoming of all the customisations I made on the burger. Even came back to ask about some niche details. Though the service quality is usually mixed depending on which staff member you encounter (ranging from 0 star to 4 star), she's a 6 star. Happy to come back here as long as she's in the place

Food took 1 hour 20 and they told me it would take 30 and all I ordered was a full English and a coke.

Late decision on a Sunday night arrived at 7.30 ordered the rump steak, cooked to perfection, great feed.

Great lunch with friends as we shared a halloumi and chicken mango kebab. Nice surprise that the chips come inside the kebab flatbread. Friendly manager and good lager and red wine.

One of nicer Greene King pubs in Portsmouth. Decent food, decent drinks and a lively atmosphere. Lots of tables outside so good on a nice summer's day.

Food is basic but on a whole great value. Service can be hit and miss when busy but always friendly

Cold fires and cheese fries. Overcooked and pre cooked beef burger. Beer was nice though! And coool garden.

Green king estate pub .As expected

Nice Greene King. Food was good and reasonably priced. Some staff a little bit mardy for my liking.

Have frequently visited this establishment throughout the years, it's a great pub with plenty of seating inside and out. They offer the usual chain restaurant pub grub as well as the vast selection of drinks to cater for most. The last year or so the pub has become understaffed, common for two bar staff during peak hours; one of which also has food running duties. It is common to wait 10-15 minutes to be served at the bar during busy times. A small gripe for some but with competing pubs in the city offering much better service it's now an easy pub to avoid. In essence, more staff at peak hours and this pub would be rocking.

Over an hour from main meal too sweet. We had an important appointment and could not wait any longer.

neally a hour wait tonight at 6pm for food just being chicken wings and strips and chips. When it did arrive it was very nice.

It's a really lovely pub with friendly staff. Great food at great prices, I've been twice already and will definitely be going again. They have loads of offers and deals on their food which helps and the offer lots of choice. I love the way they do their burgers as you can add what you want. A few places to park your car as it's by a park.

Nice enough local place. Staff were quite friendly. More of a local pub with a restaurant, as you need to order your food from the bar, which is a bit clumsy and cumbersome if there is a line, but really not a big deal. Beer selection is good. Even the wine was good. Food seems good, but dont make the mistake and order a steak like we did. Stay with the standard pub food, which is good. The place is comfortable, but three security guards on the night we attended were a bit of a concern. It seems a bad sign, especially as they were wont to roam the restaurant and fond of eye contact. That said, I would go again, I like the place, super friendly people.

Excellent food, reasonable prices, relaxed atmosphere. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Brandon and the team put together a 50th birthday party with short notice they did a lovely food spread got a DJ with karaoke really made my evening amazing I'd like to thank you all you really went that extra mile x

Brandon is the best since he has been here it’s been a proper pub the amount of people that is coming through them doors is unreal. It’s a proper pub Brandon really needs to stay here. He is a brilliant asset to this pub. The staff here are excellent especially Matt he knows what we drink and the service is quick and you don’t have to wait long for a drink at the bar

Lovely pub such friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The food was delicious. Brandon the manger is great and really made us feel welcome. All memebers of staff we encountered were amazing but Ashleigh really stood out for us. Super friendly i great asset to the team. Will be back again soon.

Visited the baffins again recently unexpectedly and was pleasantly surprised how welcoming it was compared to previous visits. The food was really enjoyable and the atmosphere even better! Would definitely come back again, thank you to you and your team!

I suppose you get what you pay for! 11.49 for 2 meals not even half of one got ate, great pub but absolute disgusting food, stay clear unless you want a pack of crisp. I can’t give less than one star on the food.

Brandon the new manager pulled out all the stops in very challenging circumstances. Tills were down and kitchen was under pressure but he went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely time. Thank you and we will be back.

I was taken aback by the quality of their food. Freshly well cooked, steaming and worth the wait.

Nice pub with some good deals for food. Nothing too fancy, which is just what you want. Dogs are allowed and those present were very well behaved.

Absolutely shocking staff. It’s my local but would rather taxi elsewhere and spend a few more pound then go to that place again. Disgraceful. Been told you get what you pay for !!! For that service I expect a refund of at least £30 from my £46 bill.

Came here on Christmas because its supposed to be open till 5 and it's advertised till 5 but they wouldn't serve me a pint before 4'clock . This wasted my time and false advertising. He started arguing with me because I said the truth.

Manager is excellent and the blonde waitress and lovely young lady at bar who took our order was great.

Could not rate this pub any less than 5/5, especially with the new owners. They are the friendliest and always have time to catch up. This pub is the best in the area for food, drinks and atmosphere. Highly recommend!!!

Friendly and fast service, nice food

Great place We were made to feel very welcome. There were families eating. And dogs were welcome The food was very good. I had fish and chips and my wife is vegan and had katsu curry. All cooked fresh. We will be coming again. Bit difficult to park but we found a place on a road nearby I am disabled and on a powered wheelchair I had no problems getting in and no problems getting round inside.

Food menu has massively improved, great value for money and really delicious pub food. I had chicken katsu with rice and chips topped with fresh coriander and fresh chillies. Spoke to the new owners and they were both really keen to hear honest feedback as they have made the menu a priority. Definitely my new local to grab a bite and a beer 🍺

Really good prices and good food

Despite a few problems with our meals and slow service due to low staff levels, Carl was very helpful and couldn't have tried any harder to rectify the situation. His caring manner really helped to ease the situation and problems were resolved to our satisfaction.

Not been here for a while but decided to give it a try after hearing a few good things, It was very busy all staff working hard management greeted us. Food was perfect and the price was great! Will be back again!

I would like to say how good and Professional Clare, Karl and team are with everyone including people who think they should be served straight away and others who don't believe in queues... even when half the staff have phoned in sick... so nice to be in a good proper pub again..

Claire & Carl have recently taken over and are striving to create a wonderful atmosphere & great food. Their service is impeccable & if there happens to be anything the customer isn’t happy with they swiftly and with pleasure resolve the problem. They also insist on pleasant service from their staff. It is nice to see Managers that are always present and work alongside their staff.

Really pleased with food and service this evening. No salad, but kindly offered peas instead. The dog was also catered for. Thanks again!

Tried 3 times to get food on different days and times, to be told sorry kitchen is closed. Tried to get service at the bar that was very busy with one bar staff member I gave up in the then and we t to the rose in june

As usual when ordering drinks from the online ordering service you pay, you wait and sometimes wait to long if no one bothers to look at the printed out receipt with my order on only to be told we have never heard of that drink can you order something else, what is all that about, if you don't stock it don't advertise it. Then you fancy something to eat only to be told we not got what you want it's lunchtime. I ended up with a horrible so called cornbeef pie which was not nice, You need to employ a stockist manager and order food you do not have enough of, again what's the point of advertising something if you not got it. Fortunalty there is a Chinese, chippy, Indian and kebab shop up the road and believe it or not they always have what I want so after I have had my overpriced drink that I didn't originally want I take my business for my food up the road, someone needs to pull the finger out and sort out the stock levels and update the app with what you have got in stock, looking at the feedback I can see I am not the first to moan about this.

Manager is very friendly but we need more entertainment here like quiz competition, DJ.,.....

Ordered meal half what we wanted was off what we did have was shocking chips and curry sauce 10 chips…pie and chips with gravy only half the pie was edible over cooked and was hard the gravy was a table spoon in a jug that again had been microwaved when we complained I was told that the gravy was measured and I would have to pay for more never again

we come here on Thursday 20th April went to order drinks told they had no wine the my cola was flat took 15 minute to get a new one. ordered food, no steak or gammon on the menu. I ordered the sharers platter, which is meant to be shared between 4 people which was a joke it was just enough for 1 person

The atmosphere is nice as are the staff but the food took an eternity to come and when it did, there were parts missing that took ages to catch up. I had eaten most of my meal before the coleslaw I ordered with it came out. If it all came out at the same time and faster than an hour and a half (pub wasn't packed either), then it would have been a really enjoyable meal. 😊

Had a private function in here, area that was supposed to be exclusively used by the party I was with wasn't reserved, service was reasonable (we were advised that they had staff off sick and it was a football day. Average really, nothing extra special.

Over the years I have seen many changes in the baffins. I first went into the baffins when I was 18 now I am 68.

Stopped by on a walk by the pond. Great atmosphere, jolly staff and great value for money. Had the wrap with chicken and chips - totally hit the spot. Drinks very reasonably priced. A gem of a place.

Decent local pub. Friendly staff. Haven't tried the food so can't give more stars.

I ordered my steak to be done medium and there was no pink and it was well done. Bar that pretty good.

Food is great value for the money!

I've been twice before football on a Tuesday night. Both times food took ages, last time I waited 55 minutes, it didn't arrive so we left and I wasted 30quid. It wasn't even busy. Avoid, especially on Pompey match evenings.

Decent enough pub. Reasonable prices. Foods pretty decent.
