The Brewery Tap in Luton

Not been in there in years but it's probably one of the best pubs in the town centre.

A very welcoming town centre pub that I've been using since the mid-1980's. Still routinely visit for a quiet lunchtime drink whenever I visit Luton. Friendly staff, good selection of beers, very reasonable prices.

Best place in Luton if you want yourself a nice Drink and a cosy vibe. Don't pass without popping in.

AVOID AVOID AVOID Manager is a complete an utter nasty human being. I refuse to go here and tell all my friends to avoid and not to spend a penny here. Absolutely rude and disrespectful. Place is run down anyway, looks like it needs to have a deep clean and just in general not a nice place to be.

I wandered in the Brewery Tap on a pretty dismal January Friday evening, 6 people (including bar staff) huddled at one end of the bar, enjoying each other’s company with the background throbbing of music more suited to a crowded boozer of 60-80 patrons..sadly from a beer drinkers standpoint that evening there was only 1 draft beer on offer, Greene King IPA.. I risked only a half, this judgement based on what my fellow drinkers had in front of them… and it wasn’t an ale ..I was pleasantly surprised however that that the half I had, was good and at £1.65 considerably better than the corresponding half at the Castle Tavern at £2.00.

Drinks are reasonable and staff are polite, seeing the ratings and comments, of course there will be loud music, it is a pub/club. If you don’t like it then if I was you need to think about moving. Cause it’s obvious it’s going to be a pub/club or if it wasn’t, it would be a restaurant. You lot need to get over it.

The noise they make is appalling and have no consideration for residents. The place is always full of drunk people that look dangerous, so why even bother going there?

Several times they have had really loud events in the garden on the back. We have asked them politely several times to turn down the absurd music, but without success. All nearby buildings are complaining from the laud music and they simply don't care and continue. Would not recommend.

Apart from the good choice of beer , music and the price of a pint being competitive with other pubs around town . The landlady is really good fun and surrounded by fantastic bar staff .

Went in for one and it wasn’t the best. Service isn’t great could be improved. Staff members aren’t best. They swear a lot and it’s not pleasant. Hygiene isn’t the best. Could be improved. Overall not very good unfortunately

Awful night, the place had more staff and security than customers, luton is in trouble.

Nice outdoor space, particularly good for private functions as small outdoor kitchen area was perfect for small group event such as funeral wake or similar function. Really great, helpful staff.

Went for a few drinks for my birthday Saturday. The staff & manager were friendly and welcoming! The table service was fast and we had a really good night.

Great place!! Lovely little pub with great staff! Lots of safety measures in place! Masks were worn all round and lots of social distance and separation! Toilets where spotless too! Would defo go back! Also Gabrielle what a great manager! After a assault that happened just minutes before, We where welcomed In and offered complimentary drinks for our trauma!

Been going here since the 1980s. Although the interior has slightly changed it has overall, a great feel to the place.Hope to visit again next week. Pubs like this should be kept open and hopefully many people locally will support the B tap. Only downside is, it can be slightly more expensive than certain bars. But I am the nostalgic type and don't mine paying extra when I can.

Bright and friendly staff - beautiful food and an extremely friendly atmosphere. The premises was clean the toilets were spotless and and it's a definite five stars from this family!

The bar staff need to get a little bit more lively, too bright in there too, although I do have good times in there, this place can take themself to the next level easily!

This pub brings a piece of old style caring pub life with landladies and home cooking back to the high street. Always enjoyable and a quick natter.

So we live in Scotland and we are visiting Luton for my Aunty's 70th and meet my cousin and her b.f for drinks here. They refused our scottish money( legal tender) it was a £20. The barmaid was aggressive & unprofessional. Threatened to call the police. One of the group paid & we left and moved to a different pub where we used contactless payments. There was 8 of us so they lost a lot of business to a much more professional environment up the street. Unreal!!

Just popped into this pub for a drink. I have a cup of tea and my hubby ordered a beer. I went to sit down and he came back and said they wouldn’t accept his Scottish note. What a load of nonsense. We are still part of the UK and the Scottish notes are valued at the same price as the English ones Providing they don’t hand you a fake note in your change. My teapot leaves a lot to be desired and the plate and cup are not much better. Cleanliness is obviously not high on the priority list. Maybe the locals are ok with dirty dishes. Not on any list for visiting again.

Went to get some lunch.. no menus on table had to ask then it was a bit of paper on a clipboard.. not much choice... Too small not enough seating... Walked out...

A Big thank you to gabby and all the staff for a lovely meal for my dads funeral afters. They couldn't be more welcoming. Gave us our own place up the back then we moved out to the marquee were we stayed until closing time playing all our own Irish music in memory of my dad. They even went out and bought dad cans of johns smiths in his honour. A Big Irish thank you to you all. Susan

Helpful and friendly bar staff and a great atmosphere. Good selection of beers, ciders, wines and spirits. Huge beer garden with plenty of seating. Food is delicious, fresh and piping hot. Will definitely visit again !

Went for lunch, was able to order a simple sandwich and drink. Whilst waiting I started to have concerns hearing the barman using the F word a lot. Clearly flustered with 10 customers in the pub. Another customer returned cold jacket potatoes! I waited 30 mins for my order and then went back to the bar, my order hadn’t been processed! I asked for a full refund as I could wait no more but they would only give me cash for the food (even though I paid on card). They were sorry, but not more than me! I will never return, which is a shame as some reviews are great.

Gino made myself and some other vegans feel extremely welcome and made the effort to go and get vegan cheese so vegans could get cheese on their pizza whenever they dropped in. Service is slow, takes about an hour after arriving to get a pizza which is pretty pathetic when no one else is eating and Pizza Express is literally a minute's walk away. They also only start food at 5.

Nice place to have a pint outside. Huge deck and patio was perfectto sit and have a pint after a very long day of travel. The beer garden has both covered and uncovered areas to sit. Right in city center of Luton so it’s very convenient. We stayed at the Hampton Inn Hilton right off the train station it was an easy five minute walk to the center of the city. This location is also about 200 yards from the entrance to the mall which is a nice small nothing special but plenty of shops if you need to pick up a last minute thing or two. Good value. Did not try the food!

Delicious vegan pizza. Fake Mozzarella was spot on and tasted almost exactly like real cheese. Nice and cozy atmosphere. Looking forward to come here again.

The bar is a simple bar, but 5 stars go to Zaza's Gino's Pizza. The best Pizza in Europe!

The Brewery Tap public house is situated in the heart of the town fairly close to the Mall(formerly the Arndale Centre)and directly opposite the University.I used the Brewery Tap very regularly throughout the 90s eating and drinking there.I was born and bred in Luton and lived there for 36 years and feel a little sad at what a state parts of the town have got into on my very recent visit.I found this trend continued with my visit to the Brewery Tap.We visited for lunch but ended up ordering drinks as there seemed to be a long wait,even our wait for drinks took an eternity....the place looked a little tired,a shame as it use to be one of the best pubs in the town.I was glad i revisited but could not help a little sadness on how rough the whole area as well as this pub seemed to have become.Visited January 2018.

I have always visited 'The brewery Tap' on the weekdays, and it is a nice place to take some time out.

Decent pub that’s leading the pub revival in Luton. I always end up in here after Luton Town FC games if I want to extend drinking into the night. Decent crowd, proper pub and sufficiently lively to motivate you to want to stay out a bit late. People who are bad mouthing this place are probably unfairly comparing it to the pretentious bars in places like Harpenden. It’s a proper decent pub and not a swanky bar.

One of the few pubs still going down this end of town, the Wetherspoons nearby having closed down a couple of years back. Somehow this place manages to keep going despite being a pretty grim place - rowdy and drunk regulars, worn out bar and saloon areas, smells of stale alcohol, bar staff waste time messing around with locals rather than serving customers. On our visit the girl behind the bar struggled to make us a basic hot drink whilst regulars heckled and interrupted her whilst she was serving us. Odd and rather uncomfortable seating area out the back which was in semi-darkness on our visit, tables and chairs looked like they had been acquired second hand from a supermarket café, items laid around like someone had brought in the stock of a second hand shop and abandoned it there.

We walked in no one on the to Serve us, Upon Arrival walking through the front door you get a big whiff of some horrible and Disgusting smell of Dampness. Only had one option was to walk out. Certainly won't be going to that pub again

This is quite an old traditional pub, right at the end of the town centre,jst opposite the Luton university or the University of Bedfordshire as its now called. This place is not for teenagers, its more for the people who no more enjoy those noise craps. The food is ok, drinks are reasonably priced. Great place if your a foriegner and looking to get an insight into the local culture. The music played is good. Good for a quick beer when alone or a group outing on a weekend.

went here after a meal at italian just up the road,

I went in on saturday with a couple of friends and I ordered ham egg and chips and i could not cut the ham it was tough.My friend had a beef burger and it was raw in the middle both meals were returned and we had a refund won't be eating there in a hurry

I ask for a beer which it turned out they never had . I asked for a different one not having heard the rude ignorant bar person tell me the 3 they had run out off . The lady serving me spoke to me as if I was idiot !

Went here early on a Saturday evening and no complaints. Service was quick and efficient, facilities are good, clientele were fine. Luton doesn't have the best reputation but, to be honest, I couldn't fault the place - and my standards are high. Nice beer garden. Will be back.
