The Breakfast Club in Southwark

A great place to stop for breakfast or lunch. The service is the friendliest we have encountered during this trip, and the food is delicious.

Great food options with a few plant based options (would love to see a bit more) but service was lacking. We got served by four different people, nobody was very friendly and service felt quite disjointed. We saw a waiter cough in his hand and not wash his hands right after. Portions are good for the price, however coffees and orange juice were way too expensive for the quality/quantity. £5 for a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice could be ok considering we are in London, except the glass was mainly big ice cubes. Needs improvement, staff needs more training.

I had this as a takeout and been meaning to try out the breakfast club in ages. Honestly it did not disappoint at all! 🫠 Ordered the bacon and avocado breakfast bun with hash browns and a coke zero, could not fault it at all! Fresh, tasty and arrived quickly 🚘 When the packaging is good, you know it's going to be good!! I can imagine the restaurant being a good choice when passing through London Bridge. A very tasty English breakfast in the veggie version, very interesting and tasty type of baked beans (Oh and try the vegan chorizo!) The staff were consistently friendly and communicative. Even a seat at the bar didn't detract from the cozy atmosphere. Can be done well.

My breakfast at The Breakfast Club was a true culinary delight. The atmosphere of the venue and the quality of the service were in perfect harmony with the tasty and well prepared food. The richness of the breakfast selection and the sophistication of the drinks were particularly outstanding, which made it clear to me that this restaurant is deservedly popular in the area. The attentiveness and kindness of the staff deserve all the recognition, as the needs of every guest were met to the maximum, while the youthful vigor and professional competence were also felt at every moment of the service. Both the restaurant's offerings and the staff's attitude are commendable and I am sure I will visit again soon to relive the flavors and exceptional experience.

I was there on Wednesday, unfortunately I was greeted by a lady who was very rude and a bit arrogant in the way she spoke and reacted. The waiter who served me was very nice. Unfortunately not like it used to be.

We went this morning for brunch and was really impressed with the service. The kind host helped us with getting a wheelchair accessible table and a ramp to enter. The waitress was also super helpful with recommendations. I had the scrambled tofu on toast with hash browns and avocado sides - all very tasty and delicious coffee too.

Had two meals here, one eggs benedict and one berry pancakes with cream. The eggs benedict was quite weird, wasn’t a fan of that but oh my those pancakes were delicious! Very distinct, they must use a unique mixture for their dough coz I’ve never had pancakes like that before, and yes i felt sick after 😆 but it was definitely worth it! A WARNING: It is quite expensive. However i’m a tourist from Australia so i dont really care lol, but for locals it would be rather expensive

One of the most dreadful places I have been to. Our table felt like we had turned invisible. We saw our server once and had to ask 4 different servers for water before the barista noticed us and gave us a pitcher. Servers were on their phones giggling and chatting with each other, looking at us and ignoring us. Our server even left and didn't tell us or anyone... We ended up having to get up and go to the server station to pay. The food was mediocre at best. Don't go here, unless you want to leave angry.

Slight attitude with the staff who showed us my table on my birthday (I do it every year for about 8 yrs bit I may just sod it off now) bit of a sarcastic 'happy birthday' greeting because I brought my 2 year old unexpectedly to my 2 person booking, but the energy I got was "omg where the hell are you all going to sit?" and then the food was slightly cold so muffin were hard and to hot drinks were luke warm. Oh and the QR code to give feedback and to enter competition, not even working. I think I'm over The Breakfast Club now.

The experience of an English breakfast (or brunch) which was very satisfying! Hearty and delicious so plan to arrive a little early to get a seat!

Visited this place to taste a typical English breakfast. We tasted full monty breakfast and blueberry pancakes. All were delicious and excellent!!! The service was also very good! Maybe you should make a reservation to avoid waiting time and queue. In a pleasant, friendly and warm atmosphere nothing else needed to experience a typical English breakfast!

I would come back for the full English breakfast, but not the pancakes and waffles . Unfortunately,were not that great and the chicken was dry.

Great way to start a busy day when you’re in London. The breakfast was fantastic with a lot of choice on the menu. Service was excellent but the food was even better. Definitely book as the restaurant was very busy.

Ate breakfast here this morning, arrived around 8am, didn't have to wait and were seated promptly. Staff seemed a little off; came over to take order and so a placed coffee order and asked for a few minuets for breakfast order...waitress was huffing and puffing a little which I thought rather odd. Food came, nothing to write home about. Wasn't bad, neither was it exceptional. Total came to 50.00 for 2 breakfasts and 3 coffees; very cheap. 5 mins after the bill had been taken care off the same waitress rushed over and insisted we leave. Again I thought that was odd, seeing as the establishment wasn't even half full. We left shortly after 9am so around an hour. Usually I like to spend a little more time in restaurants. If the issue was monetary I would have happily bought more however the only communication came from the big bad wolf whom appeared prepared to blow the house down. I would come back here again due to location, price and the little red riding hood cast.

I can't understand the hype at all. I ordered the ‘Egg Benedict’ and thought maybe I would get cheese or a few lettuce leaves instead of bacon but I got 2 tiny breads (…not toasted…) only with eggs and hollandaise sauce. Absolutely tasteless and overpriced. Also instead of the ordered 'sandwich’ unfortunately came as a burger bun... disappointing.

We did not book, so the staff kindly informed us that we had to leave at a certain hour. However, knowing this, I do think it took quite some time to order, leaving us very short time to eat and enjoy our special menu. The staff was very polite in informing us of the situation and still giving us a spot. I would definitely recommend to book in advance to avoid any confusion!

Second time coming here. Enjoyed pancakes on international pancake day and was nice to see other patrons coming in for the pancake challenge. Good portion sizes and an extensive menu of breakfast items. Staff are always friendly. Slightly chaotic in here but good vibes and a fun atmosphere. Yet to try the bar downstairs but definitely worth a visit. Bookings are recommended if you can get one

Food was good but the coffee was awful, I did mention it but nobody seemed to care. Neither myself of my wife could drink the coffee and I’m not fussy when it comes to a latte so it says it all…

cafeteria famous only by reviews, but terrible service, bitter orange juice, burnt coffee, they made a mistake on the bill and it may be because we are Spanish, the bad service was terrible, I would not return because of the price, it is not worth it

Their Mcloving pancake is surprisingly good. (2021) Updated: Had their All American today, not bad but didn't really stand out. So 4 star. Great service, big American portion and good atmosphere, but our seat were very close to the speaker so it's a bit too loud for my Asian standard. Overall good but not that outstanding so 4 stars. Tho I must admit not a big fan of American style but their breakfast was better 2 years ago so it's 4 star now.

Ich hatte schon 4 Wochen vor unserer London-Reise im Breakfast Club einen Tisch reserviert, da ich online gelesen hatte das es kurzfristig relativ schwer ist dort einen Tisch zu kriegen. Ich kann es nur jedem empfehlen. Man hat eine super Auswahl. Mein Mann hat ein typisch englisches Frühstück gehabt und ich habe mir die Pancakes mit Beeren bestellt. Es war suuuuper lecker und die Bedienungen sind sehr nett. Wir werden bei unserer nächsten London-Reise wieder dort frühstücken.

Spectacular. I went to breakfast with my son and friend who suffers from gluten intolerance and she came from vacation to London and we saw this restaurant. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, the service is simply perfect. The variety of dishes with the gluten free option was very wide. We opted to order an English breakfast and some creamy pancakes with berries which were delicious. The staff was super attentive and professional, especially Al and Nick. We will definitely return soon.

Came in for a breakfast, got the sandwich with avocado and bacon jn a brioche Bun, absolutely delicious. Maybe too much avocado, which is hard to say! Delicious coffee, wonderful staff. I was treated to a free breakfast too by the staff as it was blue Monday which made the morning feel quite special and put me in a fantastic mood for the day.

Amazing place! I loved it so much here I came back the next day. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, they clearly have fun at work and the vibe was great. Food was SO YUMMY! I got the avo eggs and toast sandwich the first day and the grand royal which was eggs Benedict and salmon on a English muffin I loved every bite! Also they make a great flat white 🤍 can’t recommend this place enough, it’s busy on the weekends and even on a Monday morning they had a decent amount of people, will definitely be coming back on my next trip to London

This was a fomo visit after seeing the queues. We decided to put our name down and come back for breakfast before returning to the airport. Good decision. Food was lovely, staff super friendly. I'm glad I got to try it.

Great place for brunch. A slight downside was that we had to come back in 30 minutes for a table but it was a prime brunch time and they had a good system. We joined a virtual waiting list so didn't have to stand in the doorway. I had the avo egg cheese sandwich and it was delicious! The decor is cosy and the staff were super jolly and fun. Highly recommend.

Well, what can I say? It's another one of those overhyped London places which give you a hint about how deprived/feral the UK population has become since the complete breakdown of the hospitality sector in the aftermath of Brexit. Nothing about the place is aggressively bad, but does it merit the breahtless happy reviews? Absolutely not, unless you are in a country that has completely forgotten what a good meal or good service looks like. The best that can be said about this place is that it is not as overpriced as it can be. The portions are not small, but the food is at its peak mediocre, the coffee is teetering on the verge of substandard, and the atmosphere is nil.

We waited 30mins for a table which is not bad. The atmosphere was nice, and service was very good. Food let the place down by 1 star. I had the waffle and chicken and it was a bit dry and extra crispy. My partner had the full English, once again toast was extremely crispy, and some of the food was a bit dry, but overall taste was good.

My waitress Fiona was so amazing! I am from the United States and she made my entire trip! Plus the food was sooooo good. I got the Huevos Rancheros and WOWWW. Fiona is from Ireland which also made it so cool!! Can’t wait to come back in the future but I totally recommend. Ellis was alright too (aka the manager who made everything run together, what a great team and vibe).

Staff VERY unprofessional, staff were not polite, we’re walking around like they are at home laughing , on their phone. one had their cigarette in their hands behind the bar , served us with no customer service what so ever, she had such a slouchy attitude to her job while serving customers , food was cold. Not worth the money, paid for service charge when they don’t deserve that at all! Didn’t get the experience you should have as a customer

Had such a lovely experience here this morning! Got a lovely booth to sit in and our waitress Lizzie was soooo warm and friendly, I told her I was coeliac so she said she’d get her colleague Nicholas to serve me, as he really knew about the gluten free options. Nicholas was also so so lovely and took the time to help me figure out what I would like and how to make it gluten free for me…I really appreciated it and the food was delicious! The staff were all so good, even though it was really busy the vibe was relaxed and chill, was a great idea to come! Highly recommend :-)

The eggs Benedict recipe or cooking method needs a total overhaul. The muffins are dry and stodgy. The bacon is way too salty. The eggs were ok. The hollandaise sauce was dried to the eggs and minimal. The positive is that the coffee and green smoothie was good. Visited on Saturday the 16th AM.

Walked up to no line, dressed nicely with my family of four. Upon being checked in, I had just landed from America so I mistakenly went into my area code rather than country code as I’m not acclimated on this trip yet. Just wanted to share an American breakfast with my family at a place I enjoyed. Was told a 45 min wait. Ten minutes later was told “it’s not working out” and we should leave. It was assumed I didn’t know their customs, and that I’m an American. It was rude. I’ve spent months here and have never been treated like this. Won’t be back.

Food was okay, faux bacon very dry and scrambled tofu not mixed well. However the service was very good 👍 staff are nice. The place can be quite loud

I went here at around 10am with a friend and had a very lovely time. It was quite busy, so we had to sit at the bar, but that didn't stop our meal and time here from being very enjoyable. The staff are very friendly and the food was delicious. They have good vegan options available and their coffee was excellent. This place is definitely worth coming to for a breakfast meal.

The breakfast club was really nice for a after work get together. We only took starters to share and drinks. The food was really good I would give it a 9/10 the corn was favourite The drinks personally I didn’t like my mocktail But my friends ordered 3 times of a rose wine. So that must have been good. Service was nice eventually at 9 the music went up and we had a good time singing along so that was really fun

Great little spot. Service was very friendly and prompt. We had the Full Monty, which is a full English breakfast. Some elements were great, like the mushrooms and the potatoes, and some were good, like the black pudding and bacon. All around a very satisfying breakfast and a fun spot.

Went for Brunch with a friend before she’s moving out of London. Had to wait a bit for our table but with a great system of being texted when your table is available, we just went for a brief stroll around Borough Market :) Food is absolutely delightful, strongly recommend the OG Berries & Cream Pancakes (if you can finish them, you’re an absolute pro!) and the holiday cocktails they’re currently offering. The Matcha one was soo creamy and nice and the strawberry candy cane one was really sweet and yummy! Service was so lovely, it was incredibly busy and staff must have been a bit stressed but everyone was still so very kind to us and we were checked on a few times! Strongly recommend 💖

Loved the whole dining experience- the food, service and ambiance in this restaurant! I was lucky to get a seat without reservation. Plus point that they have seats for solo diners. Staff were friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place although it’s a bit pricey to pay for £24 for a breakfast.

This place was chaos in a great way! The restaurant is crowded, but so fun and we love the vibe. Our server was so friendly and she did such a great job when she was clearly very busy. The food was incredible, they did give us pancakes that were slightly undercooked, but still delicious. The fried chicken rancheros, hash browns, chocolate pancake balls really stood out

Ordered the greasy spoon online & received 2 egg/avocado wraps... wont be ordering from here again! I have since contacted the breakfast club 3 times regarding this & have had no response.
