Kitchen 54 in Southwark

Buena comida para el precio de una cena especial. Lugar limpio y bonito con un personal cortés.Problema es tarda mucho tiempo para conseguir la comida de la mesa. Yo entiendo que es fresco. La última vez que estuve en tomó 25 minutos. Mi descanso era casi más por el tiempo que salió. Sólo había 2 de nosotros comiendo.Si me iba en la noche con los amigos y que recomiendo. Pero quizás no a la hora del almuerzo.

Vine aquí con mi novio, ya que siempre quisimos ir. Pedí el pollo y galletas, puré mixto y consiguiera el mac y queso y el phili descuidadas Joe. No nos decepcionó en absoluto. Incluso pedimos llevar para llevar a casa. No alguien decir 'comida mañana? 'jaja.

A través de la cena pedimos 2 cajas UberEats. Sabía horrible, no había sal en nada, excepto las patatas fritas. Había algún tipo de salsa extraña en el cuadro corriendo en todo. Ponen la bañera en la salsa barbacoa salsa rara, ¿por qué? ? No tengo ni idea. La tienda de queso macarrones era sin duda también comprado y probado mal.Por desgracia, me trajo todo a la mañana siguiente

Can't really fault this American soul food, inspired food. Mac and cheese: delish. Chicken and waffles: will do! Chicken was ok, but a bit too much coating! Coslaw was excellent. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.

Food arrived cold. Waffle weren't the best. The chicken was bland. The bacon was tasty. The BF liked it. But I wasn't moved by it so won't be ordering again.

A lot of people might go shard for a suck n waffle but this place is just as good and the staff is so friendly we didn't want to leave , I now even order from Deliveroo

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Very friendly staff. Had a bowl of grilled chicken, greens and gravy on mash. Hit the spot perfectly - lovely peppery gravy. Would definitely go again.

Ordered off Deliveroo and was disappointed. The menu looks good but the food made me want to vomit and all I ordered was wings and a smoothie. I believe the chicken wings were not FRESH! it smelt funny and was just not what I was expecting. The smoothie was nice I guess but I will not be ordering from them again! what a waste of £15!

Discovered it on Deliveroo and decided to go personally , amazing food and a service , good if your craving American like waffle and chicken yummy

We ordered two black bean burgers and fries, that were described as fabulous. It was terrible. Tasteless, greasy. Burger patty just made of leftovers: beans, corn, peas, potatoes, onions, you name it. Fries worse than made at home from frozen ones, with a generous hint of allspice. It will probably take a week to digest. So not recommended!

Stopped in this venue for lunch, service was friendly and quite fast. Food freshly prepared and I was even offered complimentary cups of tea. Clean cutlery, tables and floors too. You can see your food been prepared whilst you wait. Seating spaces are well laid out to comfort. Most importantly I enjoyed the large meal served.

Unfortunately this place is not so good :( it reads really really well. Delicious dishes read out on the menu but delivery is poor. An example that epitomises this is the corn jalepono cheddar frittata, never has a menu item so perfectly served as an example the issues with a restaurant and it's food. It contains all the ingredients to be right - cheddar, jalepono and deep fried corn. All in the wrong proportions, plenty of corn and little cheddar or jalapeño or flavour. Basically that's the theme throughout. In honesty as well it about 7 -9 quid for a meal, and I can expect similar levels of food for 3-5 quid. I feel like as an idea kitchen 54 is great hence me taking the time to review. Think dukes brew n que in haggerston for instance ! It's possible,. Go for it! Wishing you all the best with this honest review before but right now. Not going to overpay for average chicken and chips with some poorly delivered but well written american sides.

I visited Kitchen 54 on a recommendation and it exceeded it by all means!! It was delicious food very well reasonably priced. It was my first time trying waffles and fried chicken together and it was amazing. The staff are also very lovely and were patient in helping me to choose my meal.

I've been to Kitchen 54 a fair few times, chicken and the waffles are definitely a favourite of mine! The food is basically what is says on the tin - if you're looking for something healthy, you're in the wrong place. If you're looking for deliciousness, high cholesterol, and a potential heart-attack you've come to the right place. Also glad to see it is run by a local. The ONLY issue I have with this place is that they can be very sometime-ish with their opening times at the weekend (I have never visited during the week). Sometimes they're open until 7pm, other times they're closed in the afternoon. I walked in once at the sight of people being served, only to be told "sorry we're closed", and have called more than once on a Sunday afternoon, where it really is potluck to see whether you'll get to eat or not. This isn't very professional and is a bit off-putting considering I cross the river just to get here!

I had the misfortune of ordering from here on Friday and was very disappointed after reading the reviews, the burger was bland, the chicken burger barely had any chicken and the fries and wings were as good as something you could get from Iceland. My honest opinion is save your money and go to Burger Bear in Nunhead.

Visited this restaurant recently for Friday evening treat and it was certainly well worth the visit!The chicken is superb and the fries and corn fritters are the best ever!if you fancy a nice comfort meal and juicy piece of chicken then definitely get yourself down to this spot!

I was visiting my niece who lives locally to this little marvel of a place. Simply put, Kitchen 54 is superb. Clean, bright and with great music playing, you feel welcome as soon as you step through the door. Everything is freshly made, worth waiting for and there's some great choices on the menu. I had the black bean burger and it was incredible. I've suffered more than a few bad veggieburgers in my time so sometimes my heart sinks when I see them on a menu. Not this time. Sensationally crisp and crunchy on the outside, soft and fragrantly spiced on the inside, served with avocado and salad in a perfect bun and a few fries on the side. It was excellent. So was the fresh juice I had as and accompaniment to my meal. Great attention to detail in this place. A big chilled pitcher of water spiked with cucumber and mint sat on the counter for customers to help themselves. The best part about Kitchen 54 though is actually the lady who runs it. Warm, friendly and welcoming, I'm sure that her presence makes you want to return as much as the food. I can't wait for the next time I'm in London so I can go back. I'm definitely having a dessert next time!

Just been to Kitchen 54 for lunch and I must say the food was very good. Proper soul food...we waited a little longer than usual what seems like a fast food joint so take this in to account if you just want a quick in and out meal, but it was most DEFINITELY worth the wait. Nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. I'm Glad we chose to eat here and I'll be coming back for sure

I've always walked past but never gone in as it doesn't look much from the outside but this place is great! The food is delicious, reasonably priced and the staff are really friendly - i'll definitely be going back!

I went for a meal but my dessert is what really made me fall in love. I had an Oreo Waffle Sandwich which tasted like heaven! I honestly can't describe how amazing it tasted, but I would suggest you go and try for yourselves!Secondly the juices, Pineapple & Coconut to be exact, homemade and delicious! Kitchen54 is a nice local and simple restaurant which is really good for what it is!

I had the "big breakfast" because I was starving, it wasn't particularly cheap but I didn't mind cos it was supposed to be big. But when it arrived it wasn't, it was TINY served way too "trendy" on paper in a perforated basket!?!? What happened to plates?! What food was there was really awkward to eat with a knife and fork and kind of seeped through the paper making the last few mouthfuls kind of papery. It did taste nice enough and was a interesting variation on the typical English breakfast but since it was the most expensive thing on the menu, promises of being "big" and just awkward to eat, I was left very disappointed (and hungry!) My housemate had a similarly disappointing experience... Unfortunately definitely wouldn't go back.

This wonderful little spot recently arrived in Peckham, and after two visits it's officially my favourite local eatery... so glad to have this place on my doorstep! I was both sceptical and intrigued in equal measure when I heard that this place specialised in serving chicken and waffles with maple syrup, but having seen other reviews lauding this concept I was keen to give it a go, and invited a couple of my friends to share in the experience. And what an experience it was... chicken and waffles with maple syrup is absolutely delicious, whether you like sweet foods or not... the combination of sweet and savoury makes something quite distinct in flavour, and very pleasing in texture.Aside from the chicken and waffles, I hugely enjoyed several other menu options: the "K54 burger", with thick tasty patties and wonderfully delicious American cheese... "Peckham poutine", basically gravy (not too much) poured over slim fries with melted cheese and diced chicken breast on top... and the chicken box deals are a great way to sample the lovely selection of sides, such as proper mac and cheese and jalapeno slaw... the food at this place is not particularly healthy, but tastes absolutely awesome, it's the height of comfort food. If I could give 6 stars, I would give the extra one for the friendliness of their staff... it's not often that your interactions with a member of a restaurant's staff count as one of the highlights of your day, but this has happened on both occasions I've been there. Massive kudos to this place.

Feeling a little bit delicate from the night before we ordered a takeaway from Kitchen 54 . Had ourselves a couple of sloppy joes, loaded fries, mac and cheese and some chicken strips. All of it very tasty and comforting and the service very friendly. Will definitely order from there again.

Brilliant - from the service which was really friendly, to the food which was absolutely spot on, to the pricing which is very reasonable for what you get. Go eat here, you won't regret it!

I visited here for a takeaway and ordered a sloppy Joe burger, Mac n cheese and a pineapple and coconut juice. It was delicious, served with a smile - I'll definitely be back!

Stopped by Kitchen 54 yesterday to pick up a burger ( Sloppy Joe ) Salad and fries before heading to beer rebellion to sample some local beers. The food was very ,very good. Well cooked , great service and a friendly smile. Definitely a cut above the likes of gourmet burger etc. Priced really well (and the garlic greens went beautifully with our order). The music is as good as the food !

No other word for it the burgers this place is serving are awesome and with such smiles! The drinks they have also created to go with them are inspiring. I tried to re-create one at home! I would recommend this place for cheap and quick eats packed with a huge amount of flavour.

Great little informal place serving gorgeous, tender, moist chicken with the most amazing crispy coating. We really enjoyed eating here as the staff were warm and chatty and happy to explain the ingredients and describe the flavours. Paper cartons and plastic baskets held a deceptive amount of food - a giant portion of skinny fries! I tried sasparilla for the first time and thought it was lovely. I would go back in a shot. you can bring your own booze too!

While the Manager of this new 'Soul Food' joint was very friendly, I did not his staff were rather lack-lustre. The food itself was OK, and the menu is similar to many 'cool fast food' places in East London. But Queens Road isn't Hoxton and the place maybe needs to up its game - An booze license and a more structured menu would help.
