We had read all the good reviews, so had high hopes. We phoned ahead to ask if they did takeaway, which they said they did. Decided to go over and order and play pool while we waited - what a mistake! The owner was eating her dinner in the middle of the pool table area and was clearly very irritated to be disturbed. The man went off to cook our food, but had to keep asking her how to do things. Each question was greeted with a heavy sigh and the cutlery slammed down, until she eventually said "I may as well just eat my dinner when it's gone cold". We were made to feel a nuisance and very unwelcome - why didn't they just say "Sorry, not tonight" when we phoned to ask if they did takeaway? The food was barely warm and very average - like supermarket ready meals. We were staying in the area for a week, but we didn't go back.

For my husbands 40th because of COVID 19 we couldn’t have the party we wanted so I decided to have a family surprise get together in the brass windmill, they all went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect! This was also done with the guidelines for COVID 19, The food was absolutely amazing it was so good we went back for food on the Saturday! I had the steak on Saturday and it was the best I think I have had for years! The family who had travelled 5 hours have asked me to rebook as they want to come to the friendly pub to have good food. Also the staff and the owners where so friendly and welcoming!

Visited here on the day pubs in England were able to reopen after lockdown. Full menu available, very reasonably priced fresh made food. Drinks very reasonably priced too. Staff friendly and helpful and coping very well with all the new COVID-19 guidelines. It was hard to believe it was their first day open after lockdown. Well done all and we will return again very soon. Thank you.

Dreadful experience. The place is basic, not clean, toilets abysmal. Funeral refreshments thankfully bought in otherwise wouldn’t have eaten there. Certainly wouldn’t take children there. A place to avoid.

This pub sits in the centre of a quiet village, looking out over the village green. It has a large car park, a grass play area, and outside seating areas, front and back. Inside, there are two bars and a restaurant. It has, basically, everything you need... Two pool tables, darts, two TV's, a juke box, and plenty of space. The beer I tried was clear and crisp, and the fish and chips in the restaurant was tasty, fresh, and ENOURMOUS! A friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from both staff and locals alike, made this a super place to visit for us. I hear they hold darts nights, pool nights, open Mike, quiz night, and band nights.... All sounds quite busy. Well done, the Brass Windmill.

The minute you walk through the door you feel like a local, everyone is welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately but understandably there is was no food available Monday but they still have the scrummy snacks on sale. Well worth popping in if you are passing by this village. We will certainly call in again in the future.

I struck lucky and arrived in time for a quiz night. Clearly I was significantly less bright than the friendly locals, nevertheless I was given the warmest of welcomes by Dave and Jan. This is exactly how a pub should be run. Hats off to them both.

A really warm and friendly welcome from the hosts. Very nice pub set in the middle of the village. The food was excellent and exceptional value for money. I had mussels in garlic sauce for starters with fish chips and mushy peas for main course. I am Gluten Free but that was not a problem, with every meal explained and options to meet my needs. Large car park at the rear which took my motorhome with ease I highly recommend the Brass Windmill without reservation and hope to visit again soon.

We pop in here now & then. & the other night we had a pub meal & a few pints. The food was well above normal pub standards, & the beer was spot on. The service is also great. So all in you get a good local pub, well worth a visit.

We had Sunday lunch, which consisted of a main meal and a sweet for us. The beef was very nicely cooked and the portions were as much as I could eat . The vegetable were not the usual soggy variety often found at Sunday lunches but very nicely cooked . The sweets were imaginative and a good sized portion. The surrounding were lovely set in a quaint Lincs villiage, the pub is very nicely decorated. It is run by a very warm and hard working couple and a team of friendly efficient staff. Well worth the trip .

The food here is much improved under the new chef. All I would like note is for them to return to the original name, "The Nags Head" as there is no brass windmill in Helpringham.

So visiting here, I wasn't particularly hopeful due to its location & its previous reputation however we decided to try it as it was now.

Stopped for petrol (reasonably priced) and stayed for lunch. Boss had aubergine katsu and I had breakfast. Both really good. Sausages and bacon were excellent. Everything cooked just right. Coffee was great. Service was attentive, professional and friendly. All in all a great place for a spot of lunch. We would have bought some produce from the shop but en route elsewhere so nowhere to store it.

As soon as we walked into the Stone Arms, both my wife and I, was greeted by the waitress/bar maid, who was so polite, charming and very welcoming. She showed us to our table and even though we were early, as our names were reserved the night before, there was no concern so we ordered our drinks. There was no rush to order, and the place was full with customers both in the restaurant and the bar. Our starters arrived and were lovely, fresh and delicious. We ordered the small Sunday dinners (small they were not), they were cooked to perfection with the cauliflower cheese sauce to die for. I was so full that I elected for a coffee. My wife ordered the apple crumble for dessert (I did taste a small bit - very yummy). All in all a wonderful experience. Staff were very lovely and so polite. Smiles all around. In my opinion, and I have been to all the restaurants in Lincoln, it was the best and we both thoroughly recommend you book. My only issue? ? Parking! The car park was full. But plenty of side streets to park in. Highly recommended.

Plenty of veg and gravy to go with. We will defo go back when next in the area. I actually forgot to take photos of my food. I would recommend booking.
