A nice pub on Leith Walk - an area of Edinburgh that is being regenerated. The Brass Monkey has a good selection of beers and wine and serves up decent pub grub. It has some screens for sports and a good atmosphere.

Enjoy a nice seat with good beer and wine. Also had a delicious hamburger with fries. Nice big thing. Looks bigger inside than it appears from the roadside.

The tables could be cleaner and it's better not to sit on the toilet side but otherwise the place is great, good choice of beers and the food is not bad 👍

I was in Brass Monkey Leith Walk yesterday at approximately 18:15-19:30. I bought a coffee and started eating a cake that I had brought in. The pub does not sell cake. A white barman came over and told me to stop eating. I did so and then ate a bit more cake later. He came over again, told me to stop eating and I did so. When my friend and I were getting ready to leave and I was waiting as my friend had gone to the toilet, I had another bite. The barman must have been watching me for about an hour because he immediately came over and told me off again for eating cake. I reminded him that their pub doesn't sell cake. I was so angry when I left the pub that I was shaking. I am still thinking about it today, hence the review. Not a nice atmosphere and I found the barman unreasonable and aggressive. My friend and I both wondered if he would have treated me the same way had I been a man. I am not going to a Brass Monkey pub again.

This is a nice pub with a good atmosphere but never in my life (and I have visited hundreds of pubs over the years) have I been in a pub where the male toilets had such an overpowering stench of urine. Surely the staff would notice and clean every hour or so?

I’m not a great fan of pub food, but this pub serves the usual burger, mac’n’ cheese etc that’s fresh and a very high standard. I had spicy chicken flatbread and it was excellent, my friends’ loaded fries and nachos both looked great too. They also had a very good selection of lo/no alc ales.

Just in for one drink, but nice surroundings and a good pint of Innis & Gunn!

We go to Brass Monkey Grange for the Thursday night pub quiz. Great friendly bar staff! Great quiz master! Good nachos and drinks. A really good Scottish pub.

Good to see this place busy on a Monday night. Quality beers on tap and my plate of chips and blue cheese was huge and very tasty. Will return next time I'm down Leith Walk

Enjoyed our dinner at Brass Monkey. I got the nachos and they were delicious! Bar was a fun atmosphere.

I do not recommend this place because both the waiter and the manager consider that my partner, who in this case is black, leans his head on my shoulder in a meeting situation with more colleagues, as a reason for not serving us anymore and not only that day, yes. They have ban us in this bar forever. Is it racism?

Been here several times over the years. The one near south Bridge has always been better. I've always found this brass monkey unwelcoming, and the staff are rude. I hope they figure out who exactly they want in their pub so the unwanted beasties and unwanted do not bother this establishment further.

Staff came across as rude and made our group order drinks individually at the bar. The atmosphere is poor at best.

First time in here today and has a great atmosphere friendly bar staff and decent punter's(nae bams) Stopped in for a couple of pints while the missus was getting her nails done and thoroughly enjoyed my time here and the comfy couch…so chilled could have spent the rest of the afternoon here!! Didn’t try the food so mb next time. Will be back!!

Blue cheese fried are a personal favourite and the portion sizes are fab. I love the atmosphere and decor. Being dog friendly is also great!

After a day of shopping in town, I met my partner in the Brass Monkey in Leith. We’re local to the area but haven’t been much to this bar as we tend to visit other bars in the area. But we decided to meet here for a change. I had 2 very nice Long Island Ice Teas, the best I have had in a long time. We were celebrating being on holiday the following week so what the hell, I attempted to order a 3rd Long Island Ice Tea only to be told by the bar tender under no circumstance was I getting a 3rd (he actually gave me a glass of water with the 2nd so maybe I should have read the signs). I was not drunk , abusive or being a general nuisance. My partner and I sat at the bar just enjoying a few drinks before heading home for dinner. I’m 53 years of age and was lectured by the barman about how many measures of alcohol were in a Long Island Ice Tea. No s**t Sherlock. Rather than be judged for a choosing a particular drink we left and went to Malones where they were more than happy to serve drinks in a bar - after all that’s what they do.

Absolute gem. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and variety of seating. Food excellent. Go for the chunky chips. Haggis burger recommended.

Great mulled wine and loooved the NY style couches and general ambience! This place was open until 1AM on a Sunday, we were very grateful. Great and affordable mulled wines!

Visited here during the week. Not sure if the bar staff that served me had something out for me for unknown reasons but he charged me NINE POUND for a guinness (I didn’t notice the price until after). The person who I was with (that had gotten there earlier) was only charged £5/£6.

Love this place not been in for a few years due to moving sadly didn't catch up with Scotty or Katie but will be back come in watch a film and enjoy.

Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve had in Edinburgh (Scottish bacon and Blue) possibly even one of my top 3 burgers ever! The staff are lovely, you order everything from the bar, there are board games for you to use and play with mates, as long as you look after them of course. Overall 10/10 would recommend!

Food was great ,drinks where a fair price (coming from a Yorkshire lad ,high praise ...am tight :)), was a little confused (my normal state of being :)) as was served by really really really tall people ....turns out bar area has a raised floor :)

Stumbled upon this pub while on holiday in Edinburgh. Great beer selection, excellent food options, friendly staff, good prices. We stopped by every day while in town. Highly recommend.

I had a terrible experience at this place.The staff was rude, they served us drinks and then 15 min later insisted us to leave, shouting and became aggressive . I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Very friendly and welcoming pub, mainly aimed towards adults but a family gathering would also work well here. A large selection of spirits and the bartenders have good cocktail knowledge. Be careful if you order the Philly Cheese steak though as it is rather spicy 🔥

To a place with amazing cask ales and a complete vibe they have vast range of draughts as well I tried the mosaic and hippy ales Both were delicious. Rest wasn't able to explore much spirits was late for bus. But it's quite a sporty bar I can definitely define this

Haven't been to the og brass monkey (shore) but hear it's better. Well this place is great. Great veggie/vegan options, bartender knowledgeable about what was on sale & super friendly. Dog friendly.

Stopped here on way back to accommodation. Pleasant welcome and nice evening meal from a nicely atmospheric pub which had good music. Unfortunately we left some personal stuff when we left. Not holding much hope we went back the following day, staff had saved stuff and brought them out to us. Would recommend for anyone.
