This bar is a solid choice if you are looking for quick bites and drinks and a big plus is that they are pet friendly. The staff is courteous and friendly, which makes for a pleasant atmosphere. However, the vegetarian options are very limited and the wait time can be quite long. Also, during busy hours it gets incredibly crowded and stuffy. Overall, it's a great spot for a casual hangout so just try to avoid peak times.

Tourist restaurant both for the location and the offer. Very well located near Greyfriars Cemetery. It has a restaurant room and one for drinks. The waiters have been friendly but the service incredibly slow (almost an hour to eat). The menu is quite varied but the dishes are very mediocre, they have not convinced me at all. The price seemed a bit high considering the quality of the product. I wouldn't go back.

The shop is very beautiful! It's worth drinking your drink! But what made me unhappy was that since it was my perfect night in Edinburgh I wanted to eat fish n chips but unfortunately it came with so much oil that it was quite a bad choice and you couldn't eat it. It's also not nice at all to have to go to the bar to order, instead of having waiters for that and taking the order to your table.

Stopped here for some dinner after visiting the kirkyard + Bobby outside. It was quite busy, so we waited to be seated in the food area. It took around 15 mins to be seated, but it wasn’t due to lack of tables but more so that staff were not checking to see if people were waiting. The food was amazing so cannot fault anything with that. Whilst we were not really rushing, we did end up waiting for another 20 mins before someone noticed we were finished and got us the bill. Not sure if it’s due to new staff and being nervous serving tables, but it did come across that some patrons were getting more attentive service than ourselves.

This restaurant is an ode to the Greyfriars Bobby, who was a scruffy Edinburgh Skye Terrier dog. The dog’s owner who was a policeman died and the dog is said to stay by his graveside for 14 years. Because the town of Edinburgh residents loved the dog who went to the cemetery every morning when it opened and left when the cemetery closed. He laid on the grave next to his owner. At the dog’s death he was buried next to his owner. If you touch his nose you are supposed to get luck.

Fantastic pub across the road from the statue of Bobby himself. Very busy so you may have to wait for a table but it's definitely worth the wait. Popular with tourists. Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Good selection of cask ales and beer on tap. Food was fantastic as well and you also have the option of purchasing a souvenir shirt with the bar's imagery on it. Definitely worth stopping by for a swift drink after you've experienced the sights and story of Grey friars Bobby!

We had a great meal here during our exploration of Edinburgh. It was very cozy inside and the food and drinks were delicious. The haddock fish and chips was one of the best pieces of fish I've had while living in the uk so far! Something about it was extra delicious. We also tried haggis for the first time and loved it! Definitely recommend the sticky toffee pudding for dessert, it was incredible. I will definitely come back here next time I visit Edinburgh.

The perfect dinner and pints for us after a long day of travelling up from England. We like the familiarity of our local pubs in Nottingham but this one seemed familiar on our first visit! Pint of tennents to start off with followed by haggis neeps and tatties. Mrs. loved her schnitzel as well which was a delight and a relief for me as well. Food was smashing and could be only topped by the friendly atmosphere. Even a couple of loud americans next to us couldn't dampen our spirit at this fine pub 😆 Also both of us are dog lovers so the backstory behind the name just melted our hearts. Special mention to the tall lad serving us. He was a proper gent and very helpful throughout the evening.

I had a very disappointing experience at Greyfriars Bobby Pub. As someone with serious food allergies, I always take precautions and inform staff to ensure my safety. Unfortunately, the waiter was dismissive of my concerns and could not guarantee that there wouldn’t be cross-contamination in the food preparation (not even a salad). Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, he waved an iPad at me, pressuring me to click "got it" in a waiver without fully explaining the risks or allowing time to read. This lack of understanding and care left me feeling unsafe. We ultimately had to leave without eating, which was very disappointing. I would not recommend this pub to anyone with dietary needs or allergies.

Stay away if you don’t want to be disappointed. The employees there just aren’t worthy of Bobby’s memory and aren’t surely honouring it. The older lady at the bar was simply horrible. Not a smile, not helpful, always rushing you and got my order wrong. Made one girl walk back to her table because she didn’t know her table number!!! I asked for the loaded chunky fries that took WAY TOO MUCH and when I got the order, it was a regular plate of simple fries, that weren’t even listed on the menu, that I didn’t order and went to talk to the rude lady, she started arguing with me that I had made the wrong order and I tried to show her the menu to show her that I didn’t even know there was plain fries because they AREN’T ON THE MENU!! Just an awful awful experience! Will not recommend ever. Poor Bobby.
