Staff can be a bit hit and miss, food however is always really good and nice atmosphere!

Went to a party in the function room, it was very good

First time here for lunch. Super for families. I came in with teenage son, partner and elderly parents. Food was well cooked, well presented and tasty. Pub impeccably clean, my dad couldn’t stop mentioning how clean the toilets and bar were!!! My son liked the pool table, partner games machine and dad liked watching out over the cricket field and sport on TV. We will be back!!

Only went there for a charity quiz night

Visited this restaurant and cricket club for a wake for a very special family member. Great little bar and good food.

A friend booked the function room for an event, we had a really great afternoon, and we were even graced with some sunshine, so I was able to take in some of the cricket match, lol.

Brilliant place to go for food. Lovely atmosphere and amazing food. The staff were amazing and so helpful as I have a son with food allergies.. Look forward to going back 😊

The atmosphere and drinks are nice but kitchen was closed on Sunday at 4pm. even no chips :/

Went for a Saturday afternoon beer and watched some cricket. Nice venue, staff should smile more, felt like they didn't want to be there.

l was very fortunate to be able to hold my 70th there , Richard the main man put on a super spread and he and his staff were just a delight . l had friends and family coming form all corners and the buffet put on was superb , all gave super comments. You can have the greatest place going but its the staff and boss who make it what it is , The venue is second to none and we were very lucky with the weather and great cricket match to watch . Thank you all

The venue is very non-descript - think clone pubs like in the film worlds end. If you are not a local expect to be served after they have dealt with their friends. Went to watch a specific sporting event - that they decided to change at the last minute (despite checking it would be shown). Won’t be visiting again .

Recently held a party here in the upstairs room and the service, as always from Richard and his team at the Bowlers, was fantastic. Brilliant food, loads of flexibility, good communication. We're locals so know the drill here, but all our guests - mostly visitors from out of the area - remarked what a great place it is. Thanks to all!

Very nice place! My son and his family live in Newbury on one of our visits from Barcelona. We went for a walk and Because of the Rainer we went in inside and since then with my grandson we sent hours there

The food is great in terms of quality and value, a very varied menu to suite all different dietary requirements and a friendly staff team in a very lovely and modern environment. No complaints at all

Went there after a christening. It's within the cricket grounds. Looks fairly new and has been done to a very good standard. Massive car park. Enjoyed our short time there...

It was our first visit to the recently opened new build that is The Bowler’s Arms. The new building is fantastic and really slots into its surroundings. It was good to see Richard in his new place keeping a general eye on the customers and staff. It was good to come back and our meal was delicious!

Went for ladies night. Half price meals. Great value! Very nicely modernised, lovely setting, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Be prepared to wait for your food if it's busy! Lots of on site parking too!

I have been to the Bowlers Arms many times but this was my first visit after it was rebuilt. The new building is impressive. More importantly the beers are good, well served and well looked after

We had a separate bar area for a private party. Celebrated my best friend's 60th. Great venue. Lovely outside area in good weather. Bar staff were brilliant.

Brand new building with excellent facilities with Falkland Cricket Club. Spacious and accessible event room with outside sitting. The Bowlers Arms will be the place to go to for those who live in washcommon and the greater newbury area. Drinks and food once it is up and running officially. Certainly will be supporting the team behind the pub and the revamped cricket club.

Real shame because any other night would have been a great pub. After a long shift at a different bar I thought I might join my parents and their friends for a drink. Land lady closed the bar at 10:20 although it was open til 11. Was rude and unwelcoming. I understand doing last orders at half past and finishing the last drinks at quarter to. But how is pub that’s only selling drink expecting to make real money by closing at 10:20!! Think this is a really easy fix and a real disappointment considering how great the building and the environment is.

Interesting menu, good drinks selection, and free room for functions. Clean toilets. The décor is poor but this is because the new clubhouse is in the process of being built.

For a little pub on the out skirts of Newbury, this place offers top quality food. The menu caters for a variety of tastes, but all very tasty. When the sun is out, there is also no better garden in Berkshire!

A building that I helped on, as a young teenager, at my first cricket club. The club and its facilities have come a very long way since I started there in 1967.

At first glance this pub looks like a Cricket Pavillion, but it is so much more. They are one of the few pubs in the area to have a room that can be hired, they have Sky sport on TV, a games area, outside seating overlooking the cricket pitch and lovely good value food. We visit regularly but especially for Sunday lunch. Its a pub that tries to be part of the neighbourhood, Well worth a visit.

Watching a few overs after an evening cycle ride with a beer in hand and the sun setting....doesn't get much better on a Wednesday night!

Nice pub on the edge of a Cricket green. Needs a splash of paint here and there, but a good place to spend a few hours. Prices were reasonable as well.

Delicious food & great value for money. Staff all friendly & very helpful, we booked the separate room as there were a large group of us with kids, no extra charge & was great to be separate, we always find it difficult to find places to accommodate us all.

Very spacious and comfortable. Food is pretty decent and good value. Plenty of outdoor seating and great for watching sports.

We were not sure about the food here because it is a cricket club but it was amazing and the service is good. I can recommend the Nachos.

It's actually a cricket club but the bar is more like a pub and the food is very good. Always come here for my first pint whenever I visit Mum and Dad and have never been dissapointed.

Needed a quick lunch before watching a rugby match down the road. The food was great the staff and the service were excellent. We also got to watch a cricket match - well nearly it mainly involved wheeling the covers on and off. I will definitely return

Terrific pub serving the picturesque Falkland cricket club. Good food, beer and atmosphere.

Lovely setting and thr backdrop of yhe falklads first team pitch (cricket field) makes it perfect. If you find it rowdy then there is an option to move to the outside benches on the long on/third man area. The food is good and yue best times to go are Saturday and Sunday day times when the home team is playing. Every now and then there is a junior match that is also on. Those keen on trying out cricket, there are some nets on the opposite side of the cricket field. So overall a nice location, good food that makes for a perfect setting.

We recently held a quiz and curry night here for Guide Dogs and it was fantastic. The curry was raved about by those who had it and the service was great. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking and lovely outside space.
