Me and my friend went to the bottomless brunch or just ‘brunch’ you could call it as it was not bottomless at all. We were only allowed 1 drink every 15 minutes and had to finish our drinks before getting a new one. We would not have come if it said that online. But it doesn’t say that anywhere. Overall definitely won’t be going again. Not worth the money or the hassle.

I previously visited the camberley branch to have bottomless brunch with my friends which we really enjoyed. Therefore, we thought we would come to your Reading branch for a change of scenery to enjoy the same brunch we knew and loved. Unfortunately, upon booking in which we had a muslim friend who cannot drink, we were informed that they could not sit with us unless they wanted to partake in the brunch. After requesting the price of the non alcoholic alternative brunch we were told it was the same. Obviously our friend did not want to pay that much money for one brunch dish and soft drinks. We arrived at the venue and came in 10 minutes late as I was waiting right outside the venue for my friend who was stuck in traffic. The server came outside and asked if we were there for bottomless brunch. To which I responded “yes”, she said “do you know you’re ten minutes late” I said “yes sorry, I was just waiting outside for my friend.” she said “okay im just having a fag break but you’ve forfeited your deposit as you didn’t call or email to let me know you’ll be late, go inside you’re the second table on the left, i’ll have a conversation with you guys when i come in”. To which we did and sat down. The sever came in and explained the menu to us and that she would come over once every 15 minutes to take our order. We had a glass of Prosecco to start. Once we drank we sat waiting and then asked for the next one, she said “i won’t forget about you, i’ll monitor and come up to you every minutes for drinks so you don’t get double parked”. We completely understood however not having two drinks at a time, however, we were waiting without drinks for some periods of time. When we went to the Camberley branch, they brought out drinks once we finished ours. This “15 minute rule” is also not advertised on the menu or online. I requested for the manger to send it to me after the meal however I haven’t received anything. I would like to see where it says this. I don’t understand why it’s advertised as a “bottomless brunch” if you’re only allowed drinks every 15 minutes. I also do not understand where in the terms and conditions it states that you’re only allowed to have one drink every 15 minutes. I completely understand being refused service if too drunk however, being denied service for a deal that’s supposedly “bottomless” is absurd. You need to change the terms and conditions and state “one drink every 15 minutes” so it is a maximum 8 drinks per 2 hours offer, not a “bottomless” brunch as you had to wait with empty glasses until the next 15 minute increment. Perhaps, you have updated the terms and conditions however, upon checking the menu in person and website online we could not see this stated. Upon asking for the Bill we requested if we could have another drink as we were asked to pay at 2:45 pm. Our booking was 1 pm to 3:30 pm we were asked to pay at 2:45 pm we were refused another drink and our server asked if we would like to speak to the manager to responded “Yes”, we waited for around 10 minutes, when the server came back with no manager explained the situation to us whilst tapping rhythmically on the table. I explained how firstly, we could not speak to our muslim friends on the same table and they would not drink the alcohol as it was haram. The server responded, “that’s brilliant i loved that you used haram”, said sarcastically, “my sister is a muslim”. We were infuriated after this comment and left your establishment with no plans of coming back and very displeased. Additionally, we asked for a copy of a receipt so which our server crossed her name off of. Therefore, please could we be emailed a copy of this receipt for our records.

Very disappointed with our meal. Awful burger using cheap ingredients. It arrived very quickly and was just about warm so I wondered how long it had been sat in their kitchen. Chips and lager were ok. When the staff asked how our meal was I told them it was bad and they never made any effort for a refund or to even offer anything else. I won’t be returning here.

I wanted fish and chips but they had no fish. My sister and I both had burger and chips with cheese and bacon. Burger very poor, terrible quality. Chips were good. I told the girl when she asked about our food. She said hope it's better on your next visit. No offer of any sort of refund. Definitely would never go back.

went here for a night out and had a decent night, Abi was really cool to talk to while she was serving us. good atmosphere and service overall which made the night so much better

Myself and some friends came in for a brunch recently, we were a little unsure as we hadn't been here before but we really enjoyed our visit, our server, abi, was really attentive and explained how it all worked. Thanyou for a lovely time.

Been here a couple of times and had really good experiences. The service is great, Abi always has a smile on her face and is easy to have a nice conversation with making it an all around better experience. Always a good atmosphere too! Never really eaten here before but I hear the food is great.

Went for a bottomless brunch. Food was amazing but spent most of our time going between feeling under pressure to down our drinks, or sitting for up to 20 mins with empty glasses as we could only have a refill every 15 mins ,if our drink wasn't finished we missed that round had to wait another 15 minutes before having another one. Didn't get our first drink until 1.15 then our last drink was offered at 2.45 but because we still had a drink we missed that round at 3 we were told that was it . Had a total of 4 drinks each not bottomless, not relaxing , not worth the money . Much better bottomless brunches around Reading . Service was friendly and I get they were just following the rules but the rules are a bit silly . Basically down your drink every 15 minutes or sit with an empty glass .would not recommend

Nice enough time and staff were great but lots of the options on the brunch/drinks menu were actually unavailable on the day. Also drinks not truly bottomless as there is an un-advertised 15 min rule, we "missed" out on a last drink as were told by staff pub got too busy to attend us. Drinks and food that we did have were good.

Noodles (the staff member, not food (Zoe)) She gave me great conversation while ordering and even for longer while she had some time. I will be back for that alone. Handled everything perfectly and couldn't ask for anything more. This is what is missing nowadays, actual communication with customers.

Such a lovely pub with an amazing atmosphere and good selection of music. Wide range of drinks for all tastes and good selection on the menu. Would visit again

Gina was a fantastic server she was down to earth and an absaloute vibe and made me and my mates a feel good amazing vibe to the bar i really recommend people coming here if you want a good atmosphere and amazingly served drinks , Gina is the serve u want such a kind girl and amazing to get on with

Worst pub meal for a very long time. I should have been alerted by there being no other customers. Had mac’n’cheese which was very mediocre, but the doughballs had clearly been lying around for several weeks as they were rock solid and thus inedible. The supposed “dressed” salad didn’t look to have ever seen a dressing. A disgrace although they boast on their website that they are the best.

Came for bottomless brunch and the food was really good and the staff were amazing Daisy and Lewis looked after us and they were amazing.

We came here for a work do and the team were so lovely and a lot of fun to be around

23/07/24 - Had a good time for a couple hours, used the toilet at 8:15 and seeming they had 2 large loo roll canisters both were empty even though they were required. On exiting saw nobody had signed the sheet for 4 hours spoke to the manager who laughed when I explained the situation. He explained he checked the toilets every time he went to the office being every half an hour but didnt have a pen to sign. I explained how 2 whole large rolls can't have gone in the space of half an hour seeming 6 people in. He explained his colleague checked and put 2 rolls in. All lies just him trying to say he did his job. He said he didn't pull the paper to see, yet there is an indication on the side, bad management and poor accountability. Poor the laughing in my face when actually he was just awful at managing a pub

Good place for sports, has a TV in all tables. Good chicken wings and very spicy inferno sauce

The drink options are great, but the food was pretty awful. We had dough balls, wings, and the vegan Italian job burger. Why on earth was the pizza sauce on the top of the whole burger? The menu does not make even a slight suggestion that this would be the case. It’s near impossible to eat, but when you bite into it the pizza sauce bursts through the holes in the melted cheese and covers your face/goes up your nose. The fries were lukewarm on arrival. And the dough balls were so solid I thought my friend had cracked their tooth on one! They ended up just leaving them. Very disappointing visit. The bartender seemed lovely though- I didn’t catch her name but she was short with dark hair.

Really cool sports bar in town. One of the few which have a pool table, came on Thursday and there was a deal on craft beers, nice spot in Reading to come to.

Tara was the best waitress. She was so attentive to our needs. We had the bottomless brunch, and when our drinks were half full she'd be asking what we wanted for our next ones. One of the best waitress' ever. Had a lovely afternoon!

It's super nice in there. The vibe is good, too, and the outside bit is really nice. They had really good selections on ciders and gins and some vodkas that I hadn't seen before. Definitely going back.

Visited the bar on the 14th of March for a quick drink after work, tapped my phone to make payment but was told it didn't go through, even though I had a payment confirmation. Was asked to tap again so I obliged but asked what would I do if I was indeed charged twice and the server at the time said just to pop back in and it would get sorted. When I saw I had indeed been double charged I was went back to the bar two days later to be informed I needed to contact my bank... This has nothing to do with my bank and is incredibly bad customer service. Told there was nothing they can do at their level, this is clearly incorrect and frankly lazy making this the customers issue. I want someone to contact me ASAP with a resolution to this.

It was ok for a quick pint, whilst waiting for my lift. Not really my sort of pub anymore. My beer was nice.

Horrible service staff were so rude and quite disrespectful when just asking some questions about coming in to the facility and got met with degenerate behaviour!

One of the best pubs I go to in Reading. Staff are always in a good mood and never have a bad day with any of them. Food always prompt and cooked to perfection every time. If I could give a better score, it would be done. <3

Love this place for pool and sports live on all the big screens and private booths

Nice place, good service, got there at happy hour so it was 2 cocktails for 1, which was right up my alley. The food is ok-ish but I don't think anything is fresh, more like a fast food type of kitchen based on frozen foods. They've got live football matches on a big tv screen fyi. Overall enjoyable but I don't think I'll be back.

Went with friends and used the app to order. It is 2-4-1 cocktails all the time which makes sense as the price of a cocktail is around £15.00. I ordered 1 cocktail presuming 2 would arrive as 1 was free. This was a genuine mistake as On the app there is a big banner that says 2 4 1 and in smaller letters it says add 2 of the drink to your order. Again granted it does state this on the app, but I didn’t realise. When the drink came i explained I’d made a mistake and would they be able to also give me the free cocktail and the person was dismissive and said I needed a manager. Went and asked and the manager was again dismissive and told me they couldn’t do anything as it would impact their stock levels. I found this really strange as it seems like it is a common mistake made by people, judging from their response. Shocked they had no way around it. So it was £15 for 1 cocktail which was completely over priced. And if the staff really couldn’t do anything, I was surprised at them being dismissive as I was not rude and nor did I argue when they said no.

In the gents toilets there are two cubicles and not one has a lock on them, which is disgusting. How much money does this venue take in within a week and a basic job such as fixing locks on the toilet cubicles has not been fixed and they open the toilets to the public. The male and female toilets should be checked on a regular basis throughout the day without fail. If there are no locks on the toilets they should be labelled as out of order and turn the ladies into unisex until the problem is fixed, very simple!

I did not want to do this bad review but the lack of communication & my refund forces me to. Copy of my email sent to manager 28/12 Still waiting for refund was told it was a known issue & head office looking in to a fix Still no refund hi Stacey As discussed today - I have had 2 transactions taken from my bank account of £35.10 from saturday 23rd I was told by Lewis serving me that the 1st card transaction did not go through and he could not move on unless i did it again - although it was showing on my bank transactions - he said that would drop off - but it hasnt 2 transsctions taken. it was at approx 4.30 / 5 ? it has gone through my bank on the 27th - but transaction date is the 23rd Update on this 22/01 After emailing head office I have been informed I will receive my refund in 5 working days.

The old Pavlov's Dog never disappoints. Awesome location, with a garden in the back, long bar with attentive staff, music not too loud so you can hear each other talk, nice drinks and good prices. I'm a customer.

Regular customer who has always supported this pub by recommending to work colleagues and friends. The team are friendly and they always accommodate my son when we pop in for a soft drink whilst waiting for our bus home. Great venue and fantastic staff. Will be back!

Cool little booths with sports screens and good draught selection

Always liked to nip here. Food usually good and drinks. Reasonable prices. Not sure what has happened now but charging silly prices for beer and cocktails. Cocktails same price or more than in London! Very expensive for drinks in Reading now. Won't be coming back to often if at all.

Will never return to this place again. Have been twice in the last week and the woman behind the bar was so very Very rude. Bought a beer, a brandy and a coke and it cost 18 quid... if I'd known how expensive it was while my husband was paying and I was being spoken to so rudely, I would and should have left the drinks on the bar and left.. never again. Pick your staff wisely 😉

Lively stonegate pub with lots of screens and serving a large selection of keg conditioned and bottled drinks. It was karaoke night when we visited.

Hands down the best place to watch sports in reading.

I asked for peri peri chicken and didn't have. After that for chicken and the didn't have onion rings enough. The chicken was any filet chicken cooked in any way, nothing good enough,at least from my point of view. The atmosphere was quite and correct,but It is good only for drinks I think.

All good ,good prices but the tables are dirty so dirty....

When we walked in, one bartender was serving and there were 2 just stood at the back chatting so we were seated late. They then tried to stop us ordering drinks 25 minutes before the brunch finished. They won’t serve drinks whilst eating which I’ve never encountered before at a brunch. I requested a poached egg for my meal (as advertised on the menu) and they said they only had fried eggs. I’m not sure how one is possible and the other isn’t. I’d expect in a commercial kitchen you have a pan and boiling water? They then charged me extra for the fried egg when the bill came? Do not recommend.

Good music, plenty of TVs for football and a kinda spacious outside area. Also has a pool table, which is always busy.

We had a perfect brunch- just after a hectic train journey from all parts… don’t read our GWR reviews… Adam was very attentive and despite the restaurant being very busy with football fans he was constantly topping us up and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend every time! Thank you Adam x
