Gordon Ramsay Street Burger in Reading

We had nice food but the place is freezing. I declined the 15% service charge as paying more than £50 for a burger, chips, and a larger each is more than enough, over £60 would be a joke - especially if you felt warmer after going out into the very wintery night.

Woefully disappointed. You'd think using the Gordon Ramsay name would mean something, you’d think you’d be able to expect the high standards Gordon seems to portray with everything he does, but sadly that’s not the case… We waited nearly an hour for our burgers, which eventually came out cold and tasteless. The place was quite busy yet there was only 1 person cooking, and 1 person on the floor; waiting tables, delivering food, and serving drinks - he was pleasant enough but what a poor poor show, was really looking forward to this but won’t ever bother again and I suggest you give it a swerve too!

Our waiter was great but it took 45mins for 4 burgers to arrive, the restaurant wasn't very busy either. I felt it was quite overpriced and my chicken was dry.

Awful. Chips were inedible. (Rock solid) Burger was tasteless apart from grease. What obviously isn’t a good thing. Presentation was like a take away. My husband and I rarely go out. Thought we would just grab a burger after the cinema. Felt completely ripped off by the £64 we paid for this. Wouldn’t have minded if it was good or even average. We know now why we don’t eat out, we can cook better quality food at home

Avoid this place. The kids burgers was dry, greasy, burnt, I spoke with the manager and for him everything it was something normal. I order one bottle of still water and I received one bottle of tap water wich was 5£. My burger wich I ordered they did a mistake and I cancelled it when I saw the quality of the kids burger. 2 kids burger wich they couldn’t eat it, one bottle of tap water, plus they add 1 £ donation cost me 26£. Real loss of money and time.

Onion rings tasted of grease, beef in burger were dry ,coke was 4.75 a glass ,way to expensive for mediocre food first and last time I'd use this place ,ramsay needs to taste his own food he would have sent it back

Nice place for burgers. Service could be faster but overall it was a great experience.

Good Pac Man machine. Free, unlimited plays. My friend got a high score, but they didn't have chalk to write on the board so he wrote it on paper with a crayon. Le epic win.

Unfortunately not a great experience. £7.95 for a bad pint that had a metallic taste, like the lines hadn’t been cleaned properly. You are encouraged to order and pay through their QR code which had issues with being unsure if our orders had been placed and when splitting the bill, my total came to £35, but when it got to the Apple Pay page suddenly was £41 no explanation for the jump in price and had to get staff over to rectify. The food itself tasted good however felt pricey for what it was, I wouldn’t rush back.

Absolutely delicious food! The turkey burger with gravy on the side makes you feel like Christmas is already here. I will definitely be returning for more.

Ate here 22/11/24. Food was okay but for £21 for a burger and fries expected something better than a small, tepid burger. Service was awful. Very much street food service for expensive resterant price. Only service received was literal delivery of food to the table. Didn't offer drinks when we sat down, never came to take a drink or food order just expecting us to do it on the QR code. Each person ordered their own food on the website so then it all came separately. Asked staff twice at the table for some tap water and eventually went to the bar to ask again after being seated for at least 15 mins. When burger arrived asked for sauces staff member told me to ask the other staff member when she came back with other burger, this took several minutes despire an almost empty resterant so gave up and walked over to the kitchen area to get myself. Also no way to easily pay other than on the app which automatically adds 15% service which can't be taken off without asking staff. As service was so poor/non existent I did get service charge removed when I stood up and walked across the resterant to ask to pay my bill as noone had come to clear plates, ask how food was see if we needed anything.

Service was slow, not enough members of staff.. One burger was not hot, had to wait ages for the bill. Onion rings were nice through.

I would like to share precise feedback about three issues we encountered at reading branch. 1. Food - we ordered 3 burgers with fries and drinks, the chicken and avo burger Pattie was like literally chewy. I have shared the feedback with local staff, and they were like how about everything else, I said rest is fine. And response was cool and thats it. 😅 2. We ordered a Food with Buyagift voucher worth £60, However when one of the staff member verified and came back stating it has only £48 value, then we tried contacting buyagift but no luck and then all of a sudden branch manager came and told us, that our voucher has value of £56. 3. At the time of billing, they have charged us £5 extra, incorrect billing, when we raised this. They corrected with new bill which still has £1 extra charged. They were not accepting it, and we finally paid but soon they realized it was incorrect billing and ready to refund £1, which we didn’t bother then, we were already pissed off. Honestly, I was not expecting this kind of service and food from Gordon Ramsay as brand.

Street Burger was such a wonderful treat! Ronaldo, our server, couldn’t have been kinder he made us feel right at home and shared some great recommendations with a warm smile. Such a lovely staff there, just love their service and their love to all the customers. This was out first time as a couple here. To be honest, the burgers were yummy and my husband loved it like no other. We are looking forward to visit again with my family. It was my husband, Sam's birthday, they made it such a beautiful day for us and offered us free dessert and cake as their courteousy. I really appreciate it. Many thanks!

Hotter than hell sauce is very good.

A really good meal, at a reasonable price. The restaurant was quiet but it was late on a Wednesday so unsurprising. Our server, Evie was really helpful and personable - give her a raise!!

Gordon Ramsey pulled my pants down… The burger was good; the size was insignificant. Perhaps the same size as a double cheeseburger from McDonald’s. Whilst it was satisfactory I spent £30 on a burger, fries and a coke. The only positive is that I learnt I will not return ever again. A shame as Street Pizza is brilliant.

I went here today and really enjoyed our experience. The service was great from Elliott and the other waitress I didn't catch the name of but the were both welcoming and friendly. Food arrived promptly and was delicious, the chips were excellent in particular. Would recommend and will go back soon. The only minis point would be the lighting whilst looks great makes it hard to read the menu without using a phone torch!

Great food and excellent service. It was a busy Saturday so it made for a vibrant atmosphere. I can't remember our waiters name but we spoke to the manager to let him know, we will be back.

The chicken in the burger was undercooked, not seasoned at all and clearly from frozen meat. Onion rings were very oily.

Such a great place, delicious food and lovely staff (Molly was our waitress and she was wonderful!).

The burger was satisfactory, although there is room for improvement. The onion rings were quite rich and indulgent; I tried one and found it enjoyable. If they were less oily, they would have been exceptional.

Nice atmosphere, good food and friendly staff. What else could you ask for when you go out for a meal? Arrange of options are also available for those with special dietary needs (gluten free options are available for most burgers). Staff are polite, helpful and friendly :)

Elliot Gardiner excelled himself on the service that he provided when making sure that we were okay and had everything we needed. By checking in with us to make sure our food was okay, whether we needed anything else and recommending suggestions from the menu, he helped us tremendously in enjoying the whole evening.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere warm and welcoming, and Ronaldo’s service was outstanding. A truly wonderful dining experience!

Quite an disappointing visit. £18 for a small potion of burger and fries?No wonder the place was quite empty on Saturday nights! There were not many customers but the service was very slow. Waiters/waitresses are friendly.

Il just get straight to it. Staff friendly and no issue there but this place is an utter rip off. £18 for a burger and fries which on the face of it, not too bad for what you would hope is a quality burger. However after seeing another tables burger, we knew what was coming. How can you justify serving such a small burger for the price? What’s more frustrating, you charge £10 for kids burger and chips and it was practically the same size as the £18? We got the ‘idiot burger’ which is probably called that because you have to be one to pay the prices! Don’t get me wrong, tasted fine but nothing special and a smudge of pulled beef on top. 175 for us all including 15% service charge which is steep for a burger joint. They also have those drink machines which never actually taste like the drink you want (Burger King five guys etc) coke was so watered down. Would I return? Not a chance unless they decide to make a burger worth serving but I wouldn’t risk it. So many good independent/small chain burger joints around where you get a proper burger for way less. Ironic this is Gordon Ramsay who is renowned for tv programmes trying to make places better. Rip off!

Ridiculously overpriced. 30£/pp for a small and non-exceptional burger and soda. It also includes 15% gratuity as default, and you must ask the staff directly to reduce it. Moreover, although there were only 4 tables, it was difficult to get the staff's attention. Tl;dr. Avoid. Next door, you'll find plenty of other places

I came back from holidays craving a burger, visited it for the first time, as it seemed to have a nice view of the canal. I had the menage a trois burger, got served by Elliott who was a pleasure to have been served by.

Stop in Reading during our trip in England and decided to eat here. Overall, I had a good experience. I tried the Idiot burger and I was not disappointed. Our server Ronaldo would always check up on us to make sure our food was good and had a positive attitude. I would definitely come back and eat here

The food and drinks were amazing last night. My partner ordered the lamb kebab with dirty fries and myself I got the ménage a trois with dirty fries as well and they tasted perfect. A great blend of spices and every bite of the burger was juicy. We ordered cocktails the picante margarita and passion fruit margarita, these cocktails were amazing textured and smooth drinking. Our server, Evie, was amazing as well gave us an amazing experience and will happily go again.

Very quiet food was nice but did try to charge a 10% service charge with is a bit steep seeing as the waiting staff don't do a great deal.

Burnt burger bun, I had to have the burger replaced, but by the time it came, we were not hungry any longer - paid the bill and left without eating, emailed the Gorden Ramsey group - if somthing had my name on and the food and service were sub par I would want to know - got an automated responce with no care or feeling what so ever, SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

Really enjoyed our visit here, lovely interior and good atmosphere to the place. Elliott was super welcoming and went above and beyond. Good options for veggies too so we'll definitely be back again soon!

Extremely disappointed in the food. I can’t believe Gordon Ramsay puts his name on this place. I have watched all the kitchen nightmare episodes I think he should visit his own place and see what he thinks. Expensive, low quality, small portion should have ate at the McDonalds across the road. Please see pictures of the food I didn’t enjoy.

The sweet chilli kimchi wings are amazing. Little expensive but worth it every now and then.

I came here a little over a year ago and just noticed the review I left then has been removed. Gave me the worst food poisoning I've ever had. Extremely overpriced for small portions.

The menu says service charge is 12.5% but didn't realise on the bill it was 15% so check your bill carefully. Food was good but I do think it was very overpriced compared to other burger joints. I wouldn't return as I feel I paid a small fortune for just two burger meals.

It was a late Wednesday lunch visit during school term, so pretty quiet. Chefs plus one lady -Klaudia - serving. Lots of chillies used in the burgers and a plethora of cheese with pretty much every dish. However it was all very good, served with a smile. Not the cheapest, but jolly good food with chips that were definitely from real potatoes not reconstituted mash.

Food was delicious, we was especially delighted by Caz the waiter who took great care of us with his mannerism. Overall we had a good time.

Highly recommended for Coeliacs. We often struggle when out to find somewhere that offers good gluten free options. To our surprise when I asked the waitress at the door if they did offer gluten free she could not have been any more helpful. She seated us and explained all the GF options to my husband. The burger was absolutely delicious, very flavoursome. We left absolutely stuffed. We didnt feel rushed at all. Thank you, Klaudia, for all of your help and advice today, you were so so helpful and we really appreciated it. We will definitely return.
