Ordered ahead of time (half an hour before delivery started) arrived piping hot and as flavourful as ever 👌🔥 up there with the best takeaways I’ve had in reading by far

not my first order from Reading Tandoori, have to say quite disappointing. biryani, chana masala and veg curry all swimming with oil. normally wouldn't care but it had no taste

I've ordered twice, excellent service and the food tastes lovely, but, both curry's I've ordered were a little on the "wet" side. Just a couple minutes more to make the sauce thicker and I'll give 5 ⭐️!.. honestly the flavors are spot on, the passanda was excellent and the madras was good too, although i was expecting the madras to be a little hotter, I do enjoy my spice 😉. I am hopeful the naga will be delicious for my next order. thank you!

We often order take aways from Reading Tabdoori. The portion sizes are great! And such good food. When we come and eat in person we always get great service. This valentines day the decor was great! And I was given a rose to take home. They go above and beyond. Definitely recommend and will be coming back.

Tasted great and quick delivery

Visited yesterday afternoon with two friends. The owner and staff are polite and welcoming. The food quality was top notch with several buffett options available. Will definately visit again.

The food was delicious and the delivery was on time. Everything was great.

It came in a mess, everything was covered in sauce, and the lamb was inedible, tough and not slow cooked could not eat it. Not happy!!!!

I'm a regular been going there for 5 years and owner noes me and the family but the chicken wings were very cold and I told the waitress look she didn't even care whats this rudeness in the restaurant I'm a paying customer too Plus its tasteless I don't noe why people go there because its my local I go there I got there to fresh my mind and stay out of trouble a lot of people saw this in the restaurant today this unacceptable shame on you. !!!! Complain to the food safety is this how u treat your customers with cold food. I'm not having this totally unacceptable. !! Made me lost my appetite from the cold wings 😡!

The best Indian in Reading. By far.

Absolutely delicious home made food. As a veggie they had a wonderful array of dishes. They do the best veggie momos in Reading. Very cheap too. Excellent customer service.

Taste of food was not as per expectation. It was neither tasting like Nepali nor Indian food. Tandoori chicken was used in Chowmin and Chilli chicken which ruined the taste.

Very good tandoori restaurant, situated on the centre of Oxford Road, in Reading. Its near to the town centre, easy to get to with good transport links nearby. It’s a medium-sized place, you’re usually good to get a table but obviously best to book, especially if you’re a large group. I’ve been coming here for a while now and the food and service is of a high standard. The manager is great, very friendly and accommodating. I’ve both eaten in and got takeaway and tried many dishes over the years- madras, jalfrezi and biryanis are all good. When I’ve been waiting to collect a takeaway it’s quite nice to have a drink there- they have several different brands of the typical-type beers served in tandoori places. The restaurant itself is a nice, chilled space and good for parties and gatherings- there’s plenty of seating inside and covered area outside as well. I don’t tend to order off the menu in restaurants but a couple of times I’ve asked for extra spice or something similar and they’ve always accommodated me. Also does a buffet on Sunday which I’ve really enjoyed- really cool to try different dishes and sides and whatnot. So recommended as one of the best curry houses in Reading- for both to eat in and takeaway.

Delicious food, there was a very wide array of options on offer, but everything we chose was very good, tasted fresh and was a generous portion size.

Ordered food from Reading Tandoori as thought will try new restaurant as our fav Indian was closed today. I regret it as soon as I found first (but not last) piece of plastic in my food. We've ordered 4 separate dishes, in 3 out of 4 we found large pieces of plastic (4 pieces all together). We phoned the owner, gave him details of our order and sent him pictures of what we have found in the food. He said it was piece of cinnamon stick (haha) but obviously it was not. He did not apologies, he did not say much, not even phone us back neighter offer money back. We shall not order from this place any more. To add I'm pregnant and nearly chocked on the plastic pieces meantime babysit two 2 year olds on my own, no other adult in the house ( imagine what would happen if I actually choked on it). The owner showed no compassion or empathy. He didn't feel responsible. NOT RETURNING.

Me and my wife dined in for their Sunday buffet and had an extremely disappointing experience. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food was of sub standard quality and the starters were stale. When I requested the manager for fresh starters I was told that a refill will happen only when the existing batch is consumed. The billboard in the front states "£9.95" however, I was charged "£10.95". The most shocking part was that the manager asked us to leave the restaurant because we were taking too long to finish our meal when there is no time restriction. When I questioned the manager about it he argued and behaved very rudely with me. This was first and last time dinning at this restaurant. I strongly suggest you to skip this restaurant and go somewhere else.

I can recomend the Sunday Buffet. Good choice if you want a proper lunch or dinner, but do not want to wait. They also serve alcohol. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.

After long day I came back to my hotel I was very hungry I ordered from this restaurant I was surprised after receiving my order and very disappointed I paid £20 to get a good worthy food for my dinner but I received a small box and items are missing I called restaurant to inform them about my order missing items they told me that you will receive only small box that’s the only one quantity box we provide. Then I told them about missing items they did not even apologise to me. They argued with me

I booked the food for 7-30 as I would not be in until 7 the food arrived at 6-30 it was lucky someone was in to accept the order I was not happy with that

Honestly the best curry I have had in a very long time.

Staying at the local Travelodge, and the food was delivered with no issues. The Onion Bhajis were the size of tennis balls, they were delicious. Naan Bread was superb. Only one very small issue with the Chicken Dupiaza - the portion size was perfect, it was very tasty and piping hot - however, I wasn’t expecting the pure heat/spice of the curry. It was just about within my tolerance range, but with a Dupiaza, I don’t expect Madras or Vindaloo Heat. Would 100% order here again though. 😀

Ordered from here as were stopping in Reading. Happily delivered it to the travel lodge. Ordered Vindaloo and Dansak. Dansak is generally mild and sweet but the menu did say spicy so I asked for it to be mild on the notes. Sadly it wasn’t mild, my Mrs can handle spice so she isn’t a big girl when it come to heat but this was even too spicy for her. Taste was ok just not what we expected in spicy.

Great food. Good portions. Fast service. Best of all a very friendly atmosphere. I was visiting Reading so it was my first visit. The relationship with the regulars said it all. They came in smiling and were greeted with a very warm welcome.

Just come home from reading tandoori had the buffet and found a long black hair inbeaded in the chicken wing I instantly wanted to be sick I told the manager about this and he said he would take my meal of the bill (WHICH I WANTED AS I'M NOT PAYING FOR A LONG BLACK HAIR IN MY FOOD!!) I walked out the restaurant immediately AND I'M NEVER EVER GOING BACK AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

Super experience. The food is out of this world and we always get outstandig service. If you are looking for great food in reading, go here! 15min walk from city center SO worth it. We always start with the chillie paneer but ask for it on the milder side. The tikka masala is a great follower. Try the naan too if you can handle it. The bill always shocks us (in the right way!!!) You will struggle finding these proces this close to the capital and therefore this place deserve every tip it gets for it's exceptional service. The owner always makes a fuss out of us. My partner likes a coffee with baileys and although it's not on the menu they always accomendate us. Everyone is so lovely and it shows as us local regularly show up Honestly 5/5!! This place is sooo good!

Absolutely incredibly good food.

Food wasn't warm when it arrived, the raita was just a plain yogurt and everything was a bit bland and greasy, gotta try these things but wont be going back.

For a while now the Chicken breast in the curry seems to of been substituted for chicken thighs or something! Just taste horrible which is a shame as have been ordering from here for years, so time to move on.

The spinache potato dish was lovely and there it stops. The prawn biriyani was tasteless and the prawns were seriously overcooked and chewy. The free, unexpected veg curry dish was horrible and sloppy with a stale taste (binned it) and yeah, won't be ordering from here again.

my siblings decided that we should order takeaway from here when we were craving Indian food for dinner. We just wanted to share a butter chicken, get 2 naan breads and 2 poppadoms. The good news: really quick delivery! Was told it would arrive in 45 minutes, it arrived 15 minutes earlier instead! And the poppadoms were ok. The naan was tolerable. The bad news: the quality of the butter chicken..... VERY questionable. Dare I say a bit nauseating. I know butter chicken will usually have a hint, a HINT of sweetness to contrast the savoury taste and spices, but this was like candy sweet. The sauce was suspiciously yellow as well as runny and lacked any sort of "butter chicken flavour". It was sweet sugary coconut milk with pretty dry chicken chunks. Luckily I had homemade chana masala (chickpea curry) prepared earlier. I was surprised at how much better my chana masala curry tasted compared to the butter chicken and it was entirely vegan and well infused/packed with flavours 😂 I did mention the naan was tolerable, but the only downside was that some parts of the naan bread felt as if they were dipped in water, so weirdly a bit soggy like a digestive dipped in hot tea. The chewiness was still there in most parts and the taste was alright. Yeah honestly, if you don't have a good Indian restaurant nearby and this is your only option, just learn to make curry. Just DON'T GO. Anyone curious about the chana masala recipe, I'll type it down simply. One of the easiest Indian curries you'll ever make and definitely tastes better than the food I've had from here. No need for measurements, just what your heart desires. Here you go! •chop onion/s, a green chilli, coriander, ginger, garlic. •heat up any oil you like (I recommend mustard oil or peanut oil) and drop in some bay leaf/leaves with a couple cardamom pods once the oil it hot enough •stir it around for a minute or so then add in the chopped onion •cook the onion for at least 5-10 minutes, just till it's soft enough •then add in a spice mix of: ground cumin, Kashmiri red chilli powder, garam masala, tumeric, ground coriander and salt. I recommend putting the amount of each spice you'd like onto a plate before adding them to your curry so you can reduce the need to leave a bunch of spice pots out on your kitchen countertop. •add a good amount of tomato purée/paste/concentrate and stir for a bit •this is optional but I like to add a nice spoon of this chilli paste called Mr Naga. It's a tasty ingredient from Bangladesh, which has a good amount of spice and you can find it in most Asian stores. •now is the time to add in chopped tomatoes from a can. Mix it up then bring it to a simmer. •then you gotta blend it up. You can pour the entire pot into a bowl and smooth it out with a hand/immersion blender or you can throw it into any good ol' blender you would use for smoothies. You can also choose to sift it or leave it as is. •pour it back in and add a can of DRAINED chickpeas. Stir it till it bubbles up. •add in a generous couple of scoops of coconut cream to add richness. •cover and allow the heat of the sauce to cook the chickpeas on low heat for at least 5 minutes. •a minute before the chickpeas should be cooked, you should heat some oil in a frying pan and add in ginger, the chopped green chilli and cumin seeds. •when the oil is sizzling hot, pour it directly on top of the chickpea curry and cover and leave for five minutes to allow the oil to infuse. •done!

Tandoori garlic chilli curry was small, bland with no spice or flavour, the keema naan had the tiniest piece of meat in was ridiculous. The pilau rice was ok. Far far better places locally won’t be returning.

While I usually get the same order (Tandoori Garlic Chili Chicken, Saag Aloo, Special Fried Rice) from Namaste Kitchen, Reading Tandoori actually supply it. As usual, delivered really quickly, and again as usual really great as well. I can't recommend it more!
