Beautifully decorated and inviting. Had lunch which was lovely and well presented. Good price too. Friendly and professional staff. Will definitely return.

Average score only.  First time visit and a nice environment with a very talented singer.   Patatas Bravas starter very good but the Club sandwich main was served on bread that was not fresh (not stale).  We were asked if we wanted chunky chips (instead of fries) with main course but noticed on bill this was extra charge!  Red wine was rather expensive for the quality of what it was. Most staff were great but the man on service who may have been a manager let the side down.  There were no brandies (or spirits) on the drinks menu (!) and he went to bar to find out what they had which seemed odd. He came back with a verbal list but no prices.  I asked for a single and when we got bill my Brandy was £15.95! He then says it was a double.  How could you get to £15.95 - what price is a single (haha).  The bill arrived with a service charge which is always optional but did not say this.  When I asked him to take it off for a lower tip he had a poor attitude.  He basically took the edge off our visit.  Some very basic errors above for a restaurant.

Popped in for a couple late on a Friday. Was surprised to see it was not busy but it was mid month. Staff were attentive and friendly and the venue was very clean. Slightly on the more expensive side however worth paying more to find somewhere relaxing. Some interesting decorative features around the bar. Would go back.

We have visited here a few times and would definitely recommend it. The place has a lovely atmosphere, staff are welcoming and professional and the food is lovely (we had the small plates to share). The music acts fit in perfectly and we will definitely visit again.

We came here after a really positive experience at another branch of The Botanist. The food was superb - we literally could not fault the Sunday roasts. They are well-cooked, well-seasoned and very generously sized. However, the service was nothing short of shambolic. To begin with, we were one of about three tables. Even at this point, we were going up to the bar to get our own drinks and this just became worse as the evening got busier. We were literally completely overlooked apart from bringing our food out. We sat with our finished food and dishes for just under an hour with me actually having to ask someone (when I could eventually find someone) to clear them. We weren’t ask if everything was okay, offered the desert menu or if we wanted anything else. The manager did seem to be mortified when we explained how long we had been sat there and took 20% off our food bill. We had a blue light discount anyway and were more than happy to pay the full amount for the food as we enjoyed it but we could see it was a gesture. I had to go up to someone to ask for the bill and we found it beyond comical that it had a service charge on. Overall, really lovely food in a lovely place completely let down by non-existent, uninterested staff. Not sure we would bother again, which is a shame.

Always a thoroughly enjoyable experience here. Food is always tasty and cooked well. The cookie skillets are especially delicious! There's always a wide selection of cocktails which are tasty and not stingy on the alcohol. Also, I can thoroughly recommend The Botanist on a weekday evening as a good place to go with a baby. The staff were all so lovely. There's a big changing table in the disabled loo downstairs and there are lots of quiet, discreet corners to breastfeed in. The music also wasn't too loud and the lighting was quite dim so baby was able to sleep most of the time. Thank you for making our first trip out with baby a success!

Lovely restaurant, very good food and amazing decor

If I could rate it a minus, I would. Always terrible, literally only came because I had a voucher. Bad service, trouble at the bar, just always seems to be a problem.

Booked a large party for friends birthday. 2 of our party were late but it was no problem for the team who were so professional and attentive. The food was absolutely fabulous, hot and freshly cooked. You can definitely tell there is new kitchen management in place. All in all a most enjoyable evening. Will 100% be returning.

The food was tasty, plus access was good from the nearby multistorey. Our waitress was also very helpful and friendly. It was a little expensive (perhaps a sign of the times), and it’s also worth noting the noise levels were quite high. I should also mention I changed my earlier review based on a kindly response from the owners. There was an incident during our visit but we now fully understand this is not a common occurrence. Props to the Botanist for listening, and also taking onboard everything we said. 👍

Choose the Sunday lunch option (it was 7pm) but was cold, hard and tasteless like it had been sat there all day. Service and atmosphere was good.

Food was delicious and the decor is lovely. Staff and service very good. Just a shame the heating was down so we ate with coats on all night.

Lovely ambience and and atmosphere. Lovely food especially the Korean chicken starter and the hanging kebabs. Nice bar area if you just want a drink. Our server was a really sweet girl who looked after us amazingly well. Fantastic value NYE menu 3 courses, a welcome cocktail and bubbles at midnight with life entertainment just £45.

Nice atmosphere, food ok, but the drinks are stupidly expensive, cost us more for drinks than food. EG. One tin of fruit cider a few pennies short of £7, same one os around £1 in Sainsbury's. Then we found 10% added to the bill with no mention on the menu, come on we are not in the US, all here are paid a decent wage by law, adding a large service charge with no prior notice is just not on, won't be returning.

Beautiful decoration inside and delicious cocktails. The cocktails were out of the ordinary and prepared excellently and the food for the bar was great, I'm sure the restaurant would be the same. Will definitely visit again next time, thank you ladies!

Both had the Sunday lunch which was enjoyable, however we felt the portion was on the smaller side. Stuffing balls were small for the price too. However service team were friendly and checked on us regularly.

We visited last week for our works office meal and it was great! The staff were really attentive and couldn’t have done more for us. The drinks and food came very quickly after ordering. There was a singer on who was great and really added to the atmosphere. The restaurant was very busy and all the food that was being brought out looked delicious. Thanks for a great night!

poor slow service, sat in worst worst area directly behind live music, don't think about talking to people your with, good 20 minutes since starters were finished and no sign of mains, no drinks service at table so up and down to bar, on the whole not a pleasant experience

Booked a table a few weeks ago for a Christmas lunch. On arrival shown to our seat. Other people in area waiting for meals. Service was slow and had to wait for someone to take our drinks and food order. The menu had a good choice but the Christmas menu you can only have a 2 course starter and main but have to order the 3 course if you want a sweet. We decided to order off the normal menu, a fish and chicken kebab. Service was very, very slow with no food coming from the kitchen. When ours arrived the fish was thick in batter which looked like it was out of a box, frozen. The peas with it had too much mint in them and tasted awful. The hanging kebab was alright, but the rocket with it looked limp and out of date. The nan bread would have chipped my teeth if I ate it because it was rock hard. Mentioned this to the waitress who replied, 'It's either to soft or too hard'. Another member of the public had their meal taken away and did not appear happy. I would not return here for a meal it was shocking and a waste of money.

Good trendy Bar, good atmosphere always worth a visit

I attended The Botanist on the 16th November for an evening meal. Inside, the restaurant looks really nice and the welcome from the staff was good. The food was average but the worst part of the meal was the accompanying music provided by two guitarists. It was far too loud, we couldn't hear each other and it was a relief when they took a fifteen minute interval. We asked if the music could be turned down, we were told it would be, but after the interval it was the same volume. Incidentally, the sourdough roll we ordered was rock hard, it should come with a dentist appointment for the following morning. Overall the experience wasn't great

Lovely food and drink, staff were great

This was mine and my boyfriends first visit. We had the hanging kebabs which we enjoyed. They had live entertainment, which we really enjoyed. Overall experience was great.

We dined here at lunchtime today with friends we had a wonderful experience. I have an allergy the staff went above and beyond to make sure that what I ordered did not contain the allergen. The food was well presented, hot and very tasty and the price was excellent. We will definitely return.

Thank you very much to all the staff here. We had our wedding reception here and they were all amazing. From booking with Francesca (I think she was from a central booking email) to the staff on the day they couldn't do enough for us. We were able to reserve an area and were able to decorate the table a few hours before. We had a party of 24 and ordered wine to the tables and drinks throughout being there (3pm to around 10pm) we all ordered food which everyone enjoyed. The staff were very patient and accommodating whilst we were ordering. The venue itself was perfect for wedding pictures. Thank you all again from the new Mr and Mrs Giles.

Cold steaks that were so fatty it was similar to chewing fan belts! Usual big chain putting on a show, with obvious fake concern from staff. Sad times indeed!

We dined here during our stay in the area - the service was amazing and so was the food. The live music made the atmosphere amazing. The only issue we’ve had - we did not book as I checked the website and there were loads of slots to book - so assumed they had availability - we arrived and got told 1.5h wait for a table… confused we left and checked the website again. We could book a table in 5 minutes. We came back and said we had a booking and they sat us in 5 minutes… Not sure what happened there…

Visited Botanist on Saturday during lunch time and although there was a sign outside advertising the lunch menu from £ 7.95 the lunch menu wasn't available on Saturday (Mon Fri only). We only found out about it when we were sited. Needed to order from the main menu. Food was good, portions small, but we were fine with it. Service was good as well but after some time we were asked if we ok and if we need something else so many times that we felt under slight pressure to order next drinks. Restaurant wasn't full, there was still a lot of space for other potential customers. My friend told me that on her previous visit they were told that they can only have the table for certain amount of time after finishing their food if they are not going to order more. So overall experience ok but could be better.

Love it in there just the service abit slow

Lovely meal again. We have been a few times now and the food is always good. The staff are so warm and friendly.

Firstly, the server was great. Lovely lady. The food was horrific, and the server was clearly embarrassed. I've never had fish and chips that looked, smelled, and probably tasted like it was dug out of the bin and microwaved. The drink service was super slow, too.

I had a vegan based, porcini mushroom vegan dish, and it was 10/10. Highly recommended!

Great service and experience. Venue offers an indoor outdoor romantic feel. Great selection of food in tapas style. However, more dietary restricted offers could be made available to complement some parts of the menu. Staff performed their responsibilities diligently during a gerenal/fire alarm where all guests were lead outside for a few minutes while the alarm was investigated at which point upon return the kitchen had not been reset yet, therefore no food was allowed to be ordered but the bar was still operational. This will not deter us from visiting again, it is a one-of-a-kind venue and the tapas options and cocktail selection is great!

Visited today (05.09.24) nice place, love the water feature on the wall. Very quiet but understandable as was during the day, met by pleasant staff and orders taken. Food is awesome opted for the Dirty burger and the chicken kebab both really nice and good price for decent food / service. Excellent place to go in Warrington for food fully recommended

Trendy place, great location in Warrington being near the food market, for the price of the cocktail, I would have appreciated more cocktail than ice though, there was a rhubarb one I had for 10.00 2 gulps and it was gone, apart from that would go again

I really like this botanist. The server was super attentive and accommodating. The food is always good and you know what you are getting, and that it will be lovely too (even if the menu is a bit limited compared to other restaurants). Great for family gatherings, catch up with buddies over food and cocktails, or dates - I'd imagine ;)

Great food at Great prices. Relaxing atmosphere.

The food is very nice here but be warned that they automatically add a service charge to your bill. This is a very dodgy practice as they know most people are too polite to point it out.

Love this place but the price of the drinks is ridiculous . There's a few places near by that had plenty in and lots of atmosphere. So come on Botanist sort your prices out and I'm sure your takings will go up...

2nd time visiting. The venue is very nice and the service was spot on. The foods just below average though. Ordered the steak which couldn’t have been any more fatty and the rest wasn’t great either. Overpriced food for the standard of it. Can’t fault the staff or the decor in the venue but £50 for bad food isn’t ideal.

Went just yesterday with my wife for an anniversary meal and was blown away by the kindness of our server. My wife was looking for a specific type of wine that she has tried while at the races and was struggling to find it. Our sever, Courtney was quick to jump to help and helped my wife with small tasters of the Rosé wine they offered. My wife commented on feeling beautiful after our server compliment her on her outfit and she left the restaurant beaming. The only downside I could find is that for the duration of our meal, we had another server with blonde come over to us countless times and bother us while our server was absent. Other than that, the food was incredible. I had the Pork kebab and my wife had the Halloumi and we were both lost for words at how amazing the food was. Compliments to the chef! The environment inside the restaurant was also beautiful with a large waterfall cascading down the walls and plants lining all the aspects.

Amazing Sunday roast with a brilliant musician. Special shout out to Phoebe who looked after us throughout the whole visit. Highly recommend… it’s our new Sunday treat!

Phoebe was a great server. Despite being new to the role, she was very helpful giving her recommendations and was always checking to see if we needed anything. The live band made the aesthetic even better!

Made a trip advisor account just to comment on how amazing of a server Courtney it. My son is severely autistic and had a bit of a meltdown in the middle of our meal. She was quick to solve the problem he was having and offer kind alternatives. She walked him over to the waterfall and allowed him as much time as he needed to readjust and as a mother who doesn’t get out much, i’m extremely grateful for the time she gave me to enjoy my meal with my other child. She had some fantastic food advice and knew exactly what to say to make us laugh. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. She is an absolutely amazing addition to your team and the managers should be proud.

OMG their Sunday lunch menu is to die for. Great venue, lovely food, friendly staff and really good live music.

The food was tasty, but it was a bit of a shame that the exact dish I wanted was no longer available and was only mentioned when I ordered it. Then a drink was brought twice in a row where it was specifically stated that I did not want lemon in it and therefore it did contain lemon. There was also a wedding party going on and the music was so loud that we could no longer hear each other. So I got dessert somewhere else.

Style over substance. 1. The menu didnt contain the allergen information in the same way the online menu did. This meant having to scroll through the website rather than look at the paper menu. 2. The spritzer drinks, featuring English botanicals, were awful. The mix was bitter and astringent. Topped with a dried dead piece of thyme or rosemary. 3. The food was average AT BEST. The olives were unpitted, unripened, unseasoned, and therefore like eating salty bullets. My meal was supposed to be a noodle salad with some meat free chicken, and coleslaw. What came was coleslaw with a couple of Noodles and some chicken nugget lookalikes smothered in hot sauce. My friend was equally underwhelemed by her meal also. However, the staff were polite, so at least theres something. Will most definitely not be returning or recommending.

Went on a sunday by myself for lunch before heading down to Manchester; had the Korean Chicken Kebab as suggested by my very friendly server Kourtney! We had some lovely chats about the places I had been and where she wanted to go and overall gave the solo meal a good atmosphere. The ambience of the restaurant was beautifully done, almost reminding me of a forest. The food was also top tier considering the price that I paid. It was about £15 for a kebab and it came with a side too which was a nice surprise. Drinks were also relatively cheap which I was happy to hear. Overall a great experience, staff were lovely and the food was even lovely-er

Wonderful service & tasty cocktails. The berry collada was my personal fave. You also couldn't go wrong with the linguine they have here. So creamy & flavoursome

I've been to the Warrington restaurant a few times and loved the food and the atmosphere so I knew this was the perfect venue for my 40th birthday meal with my friends and family. From the moment I went to enquire to the moment we left the venue after the meal all the team I encountered have been amazing, helping with getting the right spot to be seated (28 of us), selecting the right menu, the pre ordering process, to helping on the day take the balloons and cake early in the day to just dealing with me and my guests on the day was flawless. Everyone commented on the venue choice and the food and how attentive the staff were. Thank you so much to the whole team. I'm looking forward to my next meal there already!

Went on the 3rd of may for a meet up with some long time friends and had some of the best and funniest service I've ever had. Was sat in a large open section with 4 of tm friends before going to rugby. Our server was a funny and chill girl who managed to persuade us all to get desserts. Overall 10 out o ten experience and we'll worth the cost
