Very nice Location with good Beers. We liked the Pub Quiz and the nice Burgers, too!

Fantastic burgers, served by friendly staff. Cocktails were also delicious.

Classy wee diner off the busy princes street. Got seated very easily on a warm warm Wednesday in a table for 2. Place was very quiet with only 3/4 other tables in. Got Nachos and some cold town brew raspberry and something beer. Beer was served in a chilled glass which was very refreshing after being out in the sun for so long. Nachos were decent, got the additional guacamole on top which came in at around £12/13. Got a big plate that was nice to pick away at. My only issue was about the place was that the staff were trying to upsell us quite a lot. They firstly tried to get us all the toppings on top of the nachos which honestly didn’t seem that appealing in the first place. And then consistently came over to us maybe every 20 minutes to ask if everything was alright. At first I didn’t mind it as yeah fair enough pay attention to your customers, but by the end it felt more like, “right order something or leave” which in an almost empty restaurant was an odd strategy to generate business. It didn’t exactly put me on edge but it did highlight the lack of general relaxedness in what seemed to be a chilled out diner-esque place. Overall pretty decent but not on the top of my places to visit in Edinburgh. Thanks regardless!

Great atmosphere there with friendly staff. We had nice coffee, milkshake and burgers there. You can also buy a T-Shirt.

Great atmosphere and food for the family and friends.

Really nice food but just felt like an overall weird experience? The place is decorated really nicely and I loved the playlist they had on, but all 6 of us put our food in together and then they missed an entire meal. They did remedy this and take it off the bill, but there seemed to be some confusion between staff what had happened there. The cocktails are lovely and a really decent price (about £10 each). Not sure if I'd go back, but to go for a one-time visit was good.

Loved this cute little restaurant with its original drinks and excellent burgers. Easily accessed from the old and new town, very personable service from the waitress and bartender. Definitely recommend

We only found out about this restaurant by chance, a little hidden but definitely worth checking out! The restaurant has a super cool design and although it was relatively full, it fit the whole atmosphere really well. There was a great selection of burgers and despite a few requested changes there were no problems and the food came super quickly and was also super tasty!

Great place to stop for dinner and a few cocktails whilst travelling solo for work - the server (blonde with tattoos) was delightful, chatty and quick, made sure I was comfortable and most importantly - didn't push for me to leave which is sometimes the case for solo diners, especially in a capital city. Food and drinks were excellent and will definitely be coming back on my next trip. Thank you Boozy Cow (my only regret is not getting the T-shirt)!

We randomly stopped in and we were so glad we did! The burgers were delicious and hit the spot!

Enjoyed the food and the server was great. The only issue I had was when I tapped my card to pay I questioned why the bill was so high. They’d charged me for someone else’s bill. I was told I’d get 10% off my bill for the trouble but I didn’t. I’d eat there again but next time I’ll be double checking the bill before I tap my card to pay.

Went here for a meal for my birthday and they gave me and my girlfriend a free shot, the food was amazing and the service was just as good the manager rodis was very friendly also would definitely recommend going here

Reserved a table through the friendly chef for the same evening, super friendly staff, super tasty food, there is a relaxed atmosphere, a bit noisy but that is part of this cafe/restaurant. Super tasty burgers

A very fun atmosphere with a lot of trippy art all over the walls. The staff were attentive and friendly without feeling like they were hovering. The food was AMAZING. Highly recommend getting the onion rings, they really rounded off the whole meal.

Food was excellent and the staff were so welcoming and very entertaining. We ordered the slider selection, aloha burger, boom boom chicken and Scots wae cheese burger. Desserts and drinks were also fabulous. Nothing disappointed. Each dish was as delicious as the next. The vibe was chilled and fun. Would definitely recommend.

Went there today for lunch and it was absolutely amazing delicious. The 3 of us had deferent chicken sandwiches and they were all amazing. Out side looks like a dive bar but inside is really cool and our waitress was supper nice my 1st review ever on google because it was so good

As an American visiting, had to be the best burger I’ve ever had. I order the maple bacon cheeseburger. The burger was juicy and crispy in all the right places. The tomato and pickles are just the right thickness and the bacon added on a good bit of sweet and salty. The bun was perfectly toasted and the burger was nice and cheesy. My boyfriend got the Scot Wae burger with extra cheese. It’s was a beef and haggis burger with cheese fondue. He said it was yummy so I’ll just have to believe him on that. We also order some sides and wings. My boyfriend got the fried haggis and I got the poutine. We got the wings to share and it was the spicy jack flavor. I’m not a fan of haggis but they were nicely deep fried not greasy what so ever. They almost had a more nutty flavor to it as well. The poutine what’s very yummy. Fries were fried great and cheese what nice and salty and the gravy was good to. The wings were to die for! So nice and juicy with a great crunch. The sauce was nice and sweet and not too spicy. The wings come as drums and flats together so one wings is actually two. Now the drinks were really good too. Blood is thicker than orange was really good but the hazelnut white Russia was the perfect drink for me. My boyfriend got the iced peach drink and it was a perfect mix of sweet with the lil alcohol taste to it. Overall it was a great place to eat and drink at! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The vibes of the place were great and I really loved the decor. 10/10 if you are looking for a good spot to eat at this is the place!

The place is nice and cozy, the price is cheap and at the end they give a chance to get your food for free just need to roll 2 pigs and should be land on the feet. It was fun

The truth is it was good, but it didn't have a very extensive menu, if you are a tourist I wouldn't recommend it since it barely has anything, the fries were very good quality-price. The hamburgers weren't bad, but I repeat if you are a tourist and want basic things this is not the place, since its hamburger menu is small, the atmosphere and waiters are very good and very pleasant. Quality price is not bad

Good atmosphere, very nice service. Very simple hamburger menu, the meat is very delicious but for my taste I would like it to be made less because the hamburger is very dry and they add a lot of sauce and that already takes away more of the flavor of the meat of the burger As a fan of hamburgers, I would like it to have more variety of toppings or some extra that can be added, such as a fried egg. Then the price is very reasonable and the quality can be better 👌

My daughter and I enjoyed some excellent food and cocktails here. Alex and Poppy were particularly great for recommendations and friendly service. We will definitely be back next time we’re in town!

My wife and I really enjoyed this pub and came back multiple times. The food was awesome, some of the best burgers I've had. The vibe in the pub is also great. Highly recommended.

The staff were excellent polite and friendly . The food was okay we got the burgers and really enjoyed the pulled pork over the other two flavours . We really enjoyed the idea of having the onions on the side as a dipping option really good idea. The rest of the food however lacked flavour . The atmosphere was okay very casual dining .

Burger restaurant in city center Edinburgh. The philly cheesesteak was ok. The jack daniels honey wings were tasty. Loaded fries were good, note they are skinny fries. We didn't have any drinks but they did look cool on the menu.

The burgers are incredible and very good, highly recommended. The atmosphere of the place is also very good for a drink.

Before I go into the review, I have to say our server was lovely. She had dyed red hair and I think she told us her name but I don't remember it as this was several days ago. My only criticism of the whole experience was that my partner and I got the vegan classic cheeseburger which had hummus on it. My partner got it without the hummus and it was considerably better than my hummus-ed burger. I would recommend the chefs have a taste between the two and see if they agree with me that less is more. If they disagree that's fine. The chips were class and the burger was still great. The margaritas were good fun as well (though I'd recommend using fine or flaky salt rather than rock salt for the rim of the glass, but still this is a minor gripe and if this is part of the bartender's vision then hey go for it). Now. My goodness. There so many rude customers there this evening of 14/03/25. When we were seated by our lovely hosts there was a tense thing going on at two other tables. One was a guy on his phone extremely loudly; another was a mother/son combo who were nonverbal. Very tense. A couple of guys came in not long after and they decided to seat themselves (always a controversial/incorrect/stupid move) and regularly gestured at the bar staff for service with a rank impatience. When they were then served one of the guys had the veritable audacity to say "is this what I ordered?". I couldn't believe it! Another couple sat themselves at the bar and I believe they were a bit out of line, as well. This isn't a criticism of the bar/restaurant. I just want to communicate to the team that this is a great place and I really enjoyed my time here. I'm sorry there are some sorry fools who decide to bring their bad vibes in but really I think this place is class and if I'm ever back in Edinburgh I'll be here for a burger right off the bus.

Excellent place to chill and chat.

We came for a couple of beers. Initially we stayed inside, but it wasn't our type of atmosphere. The staff was very friendly, but we caught a quiz night and was a little too much hearing of the "mc" talking and screaming all the time. Location&music a bit kitchy for our taste.

Went as a group of 4 on a Tuesday evening, given a comfy little booth straight away. The servers were polite and very prompt, drinks coming out very quickly for a selection of cocktails. The drinks themselves were incredible, cocktails were clearly made with a lot of knowledge of ingredients. All of our food was top tier, the burgers were probably some of the best any of us have had. The only downside, I wish the mac burger came with many, many more of their homemade mac and cheese bits, they were far too good.

Staff was amazing. Jamie was really friendly and helped us really well. The wings were really spicy. We picked the one with the 2 spicy peppers, but we couldnt handle it. So be aware of that. Besides that this is a hidden gem!

Domenic was a delightful host and helped us decide on what cocktail we'd like. He got it spot all. Would recommend and definitely be back

Visited on Saturday night. The food was tasty. It just felt very understaffed. We waited longer than normal to be seated, waited longer to pay, and satisfaction checks were not done either. Would return, however.

Dear me! Are these the most miserable bar staff in the uk? Go to the bar and they’ll ignore you completely until they finish pouring their order. No acknowledgement, no friendly smile, no welcome, no thank you when you pay. Uber focused on pouring their wee cocktails, no focus whatsoever on the customer. I get the feeling they practice flair bartending, twirling the shaker around, but don’t really have a clue what a good bar service is. Good retro music is its saving grace!

Food looked great on the menu but sadly won't ever find out because the staff were too busy talking to seat us despite waiting for 5 minutes at the door in full view of the bar and wait staff.

Seated quickly. Waited almost an hour before we could order our food. Qr code on the table for ordering food didnt work. When our food got served we didnt get silverware, burger where covered in cheese. Youd probably want silverware when eating something like that. Eventually we got some after having trouble getting the attention of the waiter. Also when asked if wanting fries with the burger it was never mentioned we would be charged extra for it. Beer was mid.

Happened across Boozy Cow through a Google search for places to eat and what a find it was! Hidden away, this is a must for all burger loves! Chilled atmosphere and plenty of choice for all discerning palettes! Would definitely recommend and visit again!! Great service from Dan, very attentive staff throughout our visit.

We arrived with no booking so we totally get we had to wait and appreciated that. We said we were happy to wait and went to the bar and had a drink. The girl who welcomed us after arriving not once approached us with an update, other people arrived ate and went again. We waited for an hour and half with no explanation or anything as to a table. It was literally just 2 of us. We ended up just leaving. Such bad service which is a shame as we were really looking forward to eating with you .

so close to a five but just off. food was incredible - especially desserts - and server was lovely. the place even looked very cool. only problem was a range of very small but annoying details, which snowballed to an angry badger. the food for 2 people comes on one large tray, but the tray is not big enough so you have to huddle in. it also means when cutting food you move the other person’s food. my burger was not a burger as there was no top bun but it didn’t explicitly say this which annoyed me so much. atmospherically - it was really quiet but the music was also quiet so it was a bit off. it was very cold and they didn’t accept my young scot card as ID. call it the sober cow. however, you get to roll the pigs, which - if they land snout up - means you get your food bill free.

Visited the restaurant on Saturday 8th January. Really good burgers, yummy cocktails and a fantastic atmosphere. Service from our waitress Caitlin was above and beyond!!!

We were a party of 20 meeting together to then go on to Murrayfield. We reserved a couple of tables and the attention to detail form the Boozy Cow was second to non. Water waiting on our arrival, drinks served to table. As requested, we pre-ordered the food and it was all served up within 30mins of our arrival. The atmosphere was upbeat, food was delicious, the staff very attentive and the service first class. Would highly recommend the Boozy Cow!! We will definitely be back.

Cool and quirky decor with an atmosphere to match. Friendly, welcoming and efficient hosting from Matthew and his colleague. We ordered a cheeseburger, skinny fries and chicken cobb salad and both found our meals to be very tasty. We also thought it was good value.

Can't even begin to describe how amazing my experience at the boozy cow was! I went here with my sister to treat ourselves and was greeted by Matthew, who was lovely the whole time and gave us complementary water as soon as we sat down. We ordered 2 non alcoholic drinks, 2 buttermilk sliders, and 1 shredded beef brisket slider for £15, and a portion of cajun fries (as pictured) and they were really good! The dip and dunk with the sauce and doritos was amazing and made the burgers that much better ;) We then got (and was persuaded) to order a deep fried Mars Bar for dessert and it was very good (perfect for someone with a sweet tooth). Overall the bill came to £40 (incl. service charge) and are definitely coming again! See you next month~
