Lunch for 6 - all had different things and everything was delicious. Staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful. Slightly wish we’d come in the evening as suspect it is buzzing! Would definitely go back.

Just popped in for a drink, but was disapointed that they had no IPA, so had a Lager, it was ok. The wife had a Pink Gin and she was happy with that. The staff were friendly enough, but felt that they were all students without much experience and not much interest in the job.

The food was delicious and the service excellent especially CJ who was really friendly and made us feel welcome. She made great drink recomendations

I wish to make a complaint regarding the appauling service I received in this establishment. After choosing to go for a drink last night, I entered the premises and sat at the bar awaiting to be served. I was totally ignored by the two staff members who were making cocktails and after 5 minutes waiting I chose to leave the premises. Obviously a staff issue regarding staff training.....

We booked a table for Saturday afternoon in December. The table wasn’t quite ready in time but that’s understandable at a busy time like that. The food was tasty and hot when it came. The young guy who served us was very nice and chatty. When the bill came it was presented with a service charge but he pointed out to us it was voluntary and we could have taken it off. I asked what he preferred service charge or cash tip so cash tip it was and the service charge was taken off. The seats at the table where we sat were bar stool type seats which was ok for us but might not be for everybody. I felt the toilets could have been a bit cleaner. Very central location. I would recommend.

Update 20th nov went for cocktails amazing cocktails Tried painkiller and bru baw ... and done the dice cocktail ... shots for cheaper prices So cool Would love to stay and have more But been a long day Matt is amazing staff apart from tap incident First time visitors . Was on walk and found it on Sunday so we went for dinner tonight Monday 18th Nov 24. 2 people . Burger Loaded fries with cheese Dirty onion rings Wings in bbq sauce So much food . Amazing value Also had mocktail x 2 . Amazing since no alcohol Definitely would go again . Need to try alcohol ones . Staff very attentive.

Ate here during our visit to Edinburgh! Was my birthday and staff very kindly gave me a free birthday shot (very much appreciated) food was delicious!! Highly recommend trying the cocktails, they were yummy. The quirky little pig rolling game at the end was a great addition, even if we didn't manage to win. Highly recommended place to eat.

Amazing food! Juicy, saucy and flavourful burgers. Best cheese sauce I’ve ever had! Atmosphere and music were 10/10. Great feed for a late afternoon dinner. Got the cheesy fries, cheese and bacon, and the aloha. Recommended.

Despite the pleasant service, the burgers were good but nothing more. In their defense, I don't think I was there on a good day.

Although the restaurant is well rated, the service is deplorable, even with a reservation the waiter was on the verge of not letting us sit down, after that he was more than unpleasant, looking annoyed and sighing every time he passed. of orders and let's not talk about the food which is tasteless and has a high price for quantity, even if the atmosphere is not bad it is to be avoided.

What does it say about Edinburghs food scene when we decided this was our least favourite place, but still loved it so much that it's worthy of a 5 star. It was the first restaurant we visited during our stay, but the food through the week just kept on getting better and better. The burgers were cooked to perfection, covered in gooey cheese. Fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the centre. Service was impeccable. Got there an hour earlier than our time and was seated straight away. Would highly recommend!

Came here for our last night in Scotland and it was delicious. We have had so-so burgers during our time here (we've traveled outside of Edinburgh) and these were great! I had the Maple Bacon Burger and my husband had the Boozy Wagu with skinny fries and it was all great. Service was excellent as well. We mentioned it was our last night in Scotland for our honeymoon and they gave us two flutes of champagne!!!

The food was good. A lot of staff standing around doing nothing when there were tables to be cleared, people to be served etc. QR code on the table when scanned would allow you to select any items to order. When we finally got our bill and paid the female member of staff had zero customer service skills. We were ready to purchase desserts and more drinks but decided to leave becouse nobody took any interest in our table even though we had a pile of plates to be taken away.

Buzzy restaurant in central Edinburgh just off of Princes street. Burgers, hot dogs & chicken at good prices. The loaded fries were amazing. Good selection of drinks. Staff were really friendly and it wasn’t too busy even though the fringe and tattoo were on. Would definitely recommend.

This is a nice wee themed bar that does American style food. There was absolutely nothing wrong with our food. I'd recommend the sliders

Modern and upbeat. The Boozy Cow team elevated some burger favorites. Definitely recommend the Mac Daddy Buger. The Maple Bacon Cheesebuger was also pretty good. Give the Poutine Fries a shot if your looking for something different. Great spot in New Town Edinburgh.

We got seated at a countertop right across from the bar. We tried ordering using the QR code on the table but saw the online menu and the paper menu didn't quite match, so we decided to just wait for a waiter. After several minutes since being seated, no one had come by so we just turned around to order at the bar where most of the staff were. Someone started to take our order, and then a colleague of his stopped him and told us he would send someone over. Again, we're at a counter top a few feet from the bar. We waited some more and figured out no one was coming so we just left. The restaurant wasn't 1/3 full, and they did say they had reservations later so that's why we were at a countertop. If they weren't going to serve us, I'm not sure why we got seated in the first place.

While the food was fine, the staff was very rude with us, we have never experienced such behaviour at Scotland. First the staff told us that there is no table and that we should not even wait as the wait time will be way over an hour, but when we opened the website we found reservation immediately and when we told them that they let us in. The server at first were ignoring us while we tried to order and then while we are eating came over and asked if we were done, while we were cleary not.

What can I say except it was a fabulous place to go! Our server was a fantastic lady called CJ who recommended drinks and food for us and she was spot on. CJ was attentive and funny and put up with our shenanigans with good humour. The food was fab and the cocktails strong. Would definitely recommend😊

After making a bit of an entrance into the boozy cow, we were greeted by a lovely friendly cheerful lady, who goes by the name of CJ. CJ instead of laughing at my entrance escorted us to our table. At first I wondered wtf had I come into, but CJ soon put us at ease. Her service was excellent, the food was delightful I highly recommend the chicken wings. I think they came off a chicken that had been pumping iron. The cocktails were great and the beers were just as good all in all a great afternoon. Thanks CJ for making our afternoon

Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing interior. This place is fab! My partner and I (vegetarian) grabbed food here last minute and it didn’t miss. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. The interior was very modern and cool, and they have a free jukebox to play your favourite tunes. I ordered the plant field burger and my partner got the Mac daddy. We shared the cheesy potato puffs. The burgers were both incredible. I definitely recommend the cheesy potato puffs, they’re so good.

Wow! The service, food, and drinks at the Boozy Cow were incredible! Alan and I stumbled upon the restaurant during the end of COVID-19 restrictions, and we're so glad we did. The chili beef fries were especially noteworthy. The fries were crispy and not soggy, and the toppings were just the right amount to make the dish a side rather than a main course which left room for the chilli dog! We also enjoyed a range of cocktails, which were served promptly and without any delay. If you're looking for quick and reliable food, I highly recommend the Boozy Cow.

The hamburger patties were dry, prefabricerade and not handmade. Staff were service minded and nice.

Chose this venue to meet for a friends birthday catch up. Upon arrival, the staff had taken on board my request at booking of a window seat which was lovely and appreciated! Fun free juke box on the Friday made for laughs at the varied options we chose! Fabulous selection of cocktails and sharing food was delicious. Staff were lovely, and thanks again for a great time here!

Looking at other reviews, my comments definately appears to be the exception, and not the norm, though a few others have had similar comments. Arrived as a walk-in, but had selected the restaurant as it rates highly for burger quality in Edinburgh. Atmosphere and service were fine, and the decor is nice. The menu offers a good selection and makes the choices sound exciting. My wife had a chicken burger and I had the Mac Daddy Burger with Poutine fries to share. Chicken burger was fine, and the Poutine fries were very moreish. The beef burger patties were the let down. The presentation was good and pulled pork, mac cheese all worked, but the beef patties were like hockey pucks, dry and tough. At the time I wondered if it was just me as every restaurant has its own take on a burger, but upon reflection, I think there is something that needs looked at. I was repeatedly asked by staff if everything was to our satisfaction, and I didn't complain, and I finished my meal, so it does feel a little wrong to write a slightly negative review, but I also think its useseful to be constructive and enable the restaurant to review their business and correct things if necessary.

Ok bar with an ok atmosphere. Very overpriced (about £15 for a burger and an extra £5 for fries to go with).

Staff were polite but food and drinks were extremely expensive for what they were. Toilets were a disgrace. Iv been a few times but after this experience we won’t be back.

Great food. Excellent service and friendly staff. Atmosphere is fantastic with a juke box to apply your own taste and the building itself is full of art and warm colour, big comfy seats and tables everywhere. Highly recommend.

Very nice pub with dim lights and rock music in the background. The staff are friendly and efficient and the service fast, especially by Edinburgh standards. We took two sandwiches with chips, remember to ask for them not spicy if you don't like them, because if you don't specify it they will automatically serve them slightly spicy, I personally recommend them. The hamburger was excellent, not too big and very spicy. I had it with cheese and onion. The meat was well cooked and there were two burgers. I recommend the place in general but as always the prices are high, in line with the average: we spent around £54 for a beer, water (I think it was free because it was from the tap), two sandwiches and two portions of small chips and a churro. Apparently they serve some great cocktails.

Overall experience was just underwhelmed. £15 for a burger that I genuinely couldn’t justify that price. On portion, presentation or quality. I’m all for paying good money for good food but it really wasn’t a good burger. The meat was seasoned well but the quality of the meat was poor. Felt it was chewy and had several bits of gristle which I picked out of my mouth. It shocked me as a friend had eaten here in the past and sang the praises so maybe an off day or a change of supplier caused this, but it wasn’t what I expected. The haggis balls came out and feel they had been left for a while before brought out as they were soggy with no crisp to them. A fix for this could be the sauce in pot etc. allow the customer the control of the level of sauce and keep the crisp. The popcorn chicken was a bit stingy with the actual chicken…..popcorn really making it seem like there was more but wasn’t. Again making me feel like it wasn’t good value for money. Felt the chicken was decorating the popcorn when it should be the other way around. The fries were great though! Seasoned well and cheese melted through to get to most chips! And still kept a good crisp. Good portion too. Drinks were great! Well presented and tasted amazing too. Service was a night of 2 halves. Served by 2 different people as the evening went. The lass that served us to start off with was disinterested. No smile, no welcoming, no help with the menu…….when we look across and there’s a guy serving others, with a smile, laughing, getting to know the customers and building that rapport that is what you want from a place like “The Boozy Cow” The lass brought out the food and may as well of just dropped the food on the table. Plonked them down and just walked away. This was the last she served us and thankfully got the good energy guy that we saw serving the other tables. Couldn’t sing his praises enough. (Guy from London if that helps)

Visited as part of a rose street crawl day, unfortunately not the best establishment. Toilets were dirty and the staff extremely rude, particularly the bouncer after making a mistake and trying to remove us, only to realise he was in the wrong and had to let us stay!

Not a lot of choice of food and it's quite expensive.

Went with my sister as part of my 50th birthday celebrations. We were excited to try the boozy shakes as they sounded delicious. We tried to order from the QR code, but the shakes weren't on the menu. My sister went up to ask, there were signs to say you couldn't order at the bar but she just wanted to enquire, the 2 staff on completely ignored her and she got fed up standing waiting. It was not a good first impression, so we left & went elsewhere.

We stopped in for some appetizers and cocktails. A very cool trendy place with an American feel. I wish we would've had cool places like this when I was in my 20s back in the states because this would've been a cool hangout spot. If you're elderly or traveling with children, this might not be for you, but if you are looking for a cool hangout while in Edinburgh stop by the Boozy Cow some evening.

I have wanted to try Boozy Cow for a long time as the shakes and food always looks so good on social media but sadly didn't get to try either. The website said walk-ins were welcome so my sister and I just rocked up (it was her birthday) and we were told 'theres no tables you'll have to sit at the bar' which was absolutely fine with us, but her attitude and tone unnecessary. We tried to use the QR code to order but no shakes were showing and thats what we really wanted. I stood at the bar to try and order (I was the only person stood at the bar) and gave up after being ignored for about 5 minutes. The bar staff were making drinks but no one acknowledged me and other staff just walked past me. I understand they were busy, even though it wasn't busy being a Sunday afternoon, but no one even said 'i'll be with you as as soon as I can'. We just left as only had limited time and the staff demeanour really put me off. Really gutted as always thought this place looked amazing ☹️

What can I say but ROWENA our server who made the visit for myself and my lovely family who traveled from South Yorkshire to Edinburgh for my granddaughter Ciara who graduated From Edinburgh University on 4th July ‘24. The Boozy Cow was very quiet when we called in before going for our celebratory meal…. But Rowena YOU made our time in the Pub funny, enjoyable and very welcoming! We all loved you to bits and You Rowena are definitely an asset to the Pub creating a brilliant atmosphere and I hope they appreciate this… Love from Christine and family xxx

Came here for dinner on our first night in Edinburgh. Had reservations at 1915, and we were seated immediately in a secluded booth in a fairly empty restaurant. Cool vibe in the place. My wife and I decided on the Maple Bacon Burger and the "Mac Daddy", which sounded interesting with beef patties, some brisket, and a "mac and cheese" waffle. Our food arrived, and we cut our burger in half, so we each could enjoy a bit of each. However, we struggled to find any difference in the burgers. I'm studying them, looking for the "brisket" and the "mac and cheese waffle", but they really look identical. We each eat half of the burger in front of us, and then we save the other halves to show to the wait staff. This is where things get weird. We mention this to the first waitress to come by. She was not our waitress, but since our waitress had never come by to see how things were, we had to alert someone. She disappears, and then a male worker comes by. He apologizes, and says that our burger had been switched with one in the kitchen on the way out and he will get us our burger shortly. We wait a few minutes, and then decide to finish the halves that we had left over. For one reason, because we were hungry. For another, we couldn't see that they would have any use for it. A few minutes later, our original waitress comes by, which is the first time we had seen her since our food was delivered, and she was carrying a plate. She was asking for the two halves of the burger we just ate back! We told her that it was gone. This seemed to confuse her, and she left. A minute or two later, the waitress we first alerted came back, and it was pretty obvious that she was distrubed that we had eaten the burger. It was also not clear that the "Mac Daddy" that had now been promised to us about ten minutes earlier was ever going to come. This whole thing was getting way too complicated, especially since we just arrived in town a few minutes earlier. I asked for the check, with just two Maple Bacon burgers and the fries we ordered on it. This arrived shortly, and we paid and left. As for the food, it was decent. I wouldn't say it was the best I've ever had, but I've had far worse, too. Relatively speaking, the burger was expensive for what you get. But the biggest knock is the very odd service experience.

Bit pricey to be charged £13-14 for a fairly average burger and then need to shell out an extra £6 just for some chips (fries). There wasn't anything wrong with the food, I just feel zi could have had a similar quality at Wetherspoon for half the price, with chips. I can't give it 3.5 and wouldn't personally be recommending it to my friends if they were visiting Edinburgh so, sorry, 3 stars it is.

Our first time here and would definitely return great service from Row she was d So friendly and chatted to us we had a few laughs with her shes a great asset to your restaurant and such a welcoming person.

We had just come into town on vacation from the USA and gave this place a chance. No regrets! Food and service were excellent. Definitely stop in if you're looking for a place "out of the ordinary."

I came here for lunch with my mate while we were staying in edinburgh (We’re both Aussies) and we had the best time. The food is great, the drinks are even better and the atmosphere is really cool. We were served by CJ who was incredibly friendly and funny, she. recommended some awesome shots for us and was the reason we came back a second time during our stay, (CJ if you read this you deserve a raise). Overall great restaurant, and i’ll definitely go back if i’m ever back in Edinburgh.
